Chapter 6: Viridian Forrest
Our story picks up in Viridian Forrest but this time it is not our protagonist it was Ritchie, his partner Pikachu and Misty. It seems they are traveling together at least until they get to Cerulean City which is where she lives. They decide to sit down and take a break when "AAAAAHHHHH" They here Misty scream and come and ask if she is ok and asks what she was screaming at. As she points to a a little green caterpillar like Pokemon. They at her as if she was crazy as it is just a little bug. She exclaims that bugs are one of the forth most disgusting things in the world. Ritchie decides to make a snide remark saying besides you what are the other two.
After that he decides to catch it as he looks at it with his Pokèdex. The Dex says its a Caterpie. As he turns his hat backwards takes out a PokeBall and throws it at it. The ball shakes a little bit and after three shakes it stops indicating that it was caught. Ritchie is excited of his first capture as he and Pikachu celebrate having a new friend. But Misty does not like this one bit even when it is in the Pokeball she is still creeped out and when it comes out she just gets more rude to it eventually making Caterpie cry. That was the last straw Ritchie grabbed Caterpie and said not to listen to her as he picks it up and puts him on his shoulder as he walks away with Pikachu leaving her as she feels very bad as she begins to secretly follow them.
Ritchie notices this as Misty comes out and apologizes they accept (barley) as night fall the group decide to go to bed. While Ritchie and Misty are asleep Pikachu and Caterpie talk about dreams and Caterpie share his dream about becoming a Butterfree. The next morning the group is ready to start there track through the forrest. But as they walk a Pidgeotto came out of nowhereand attacks. Ritchie wanting to catch the bird Pokemon sends out Caterpie!? is he crazy. Caterpie was losing so Ritchie recalled it and used Pikachu and it did not work Caterpie came out and evolved into Metapod and managed to defeat it allowing him to catch it he congratulated his Pokemon as the the group continues through the forrest.
While walking along the way a sword comes out of nowhere and almost slices Richie's head off. The owner steps forth and apologizes, it was a boy wearing samurai armor as he introduces himself as Samurai. He asks Ritchie if he is from Pallet Town when he is confirmed of this he asks for a battle explaining that he battled all pallet trainers and lost but one one loss really shook his confidence as it was battle against Ash.
Flashback
We see the battle between Samurai and Ash as he just defeated both of Samurai's Pokemon with just his Spearow as he walks away calling him and his Pokemon Pathetic.
End Flashback
As he laments he said that Ritchie looked weak so he thought he could battle him and boost his confidence. Ritchie did not like being called weak so he accepted the battle. They walked a little further away as Samurai tells him this would be a two on two battle they sent out there first Pokemon: Pikachu and Pinsir. The battle begins with Ritchie ordering a Thundershock as it hits Pinsir not really doing much damage as he tells Pinsir to us Vice Grip. It ensnares Pikachu until it faints. Ritchie picks Pikachu up and gives him to Misty as he sends out Metapod? Samurai tells it to do it again as it does Ritchie orders a Harden hardening Metapod body breaking Pinsir's head claws and making it faint he recalls it sending out his final Pokemon Metapod. Now it is time for a: METAPOD VS METAPOD yes ladies and gentlemen the Pokemon battle of the century is here.
They both order their Pokemon to use Harden again and again it is a battle to see who could get the HARDEST. Three hours later Samurai recalls his Metapod and says this battle is a draw as he thinks this could go on forever. Ritchie is not happy he lost a battle and now drew a battle as he and Misty are ready to leave Samurai says they could stay at his cabin until Ritchie's Pokemon are healed. They accept and come to Samurai's cabin when they reach they begin To relax this is cut short a Team Rocket burst in as they hear a lot of buzzing they look outside and see a swarm of Beedrill. wonder how. They explain that the ended up in a nest and we're chased down Samurai tells them that Beedrill are territorial and the were stupid to disturb them so now they were all trapped together.
They do eventually stop the Beedrill with the help of Ritchie's new Butterfree (He achieved his dream) and blast of Team Rocket but they did not expect to see Ash here and asks why he is still here he explains that he was looking for anything to join his team but nothing was strong enough but he did catch one of the Beedrills finding quite strong as he walks away leaving them.
ASH POV
We see our protagonist nearing the exit of the forrest and eventually exits the forrest and see Pewter City the site of his first gym badge.
