Chapter 10: Cerulean Gym,AJ's Gym and Vermilion Gym.
Our story picks up in Cerulean City as our protagonist walks around he ends up coming across a fisherman selling a Red Fish like pokemon. Ash checks it with the Pokèdex and it is called Magikarp, he does here that Magikarp are very weak this one seems to know pretty decent moves being Bounce and Hydro Pump he asks the man how much and he says 300 Poke Dollars. Ash buys it and captures it planning to use it later. As he walks around more he finally makes it to gym but once he enters he sees not a gym battle but a water show? He decides to stay and wait for it to finish and ask. When it finishes he walks up to the three girls apart of the show and asks about the gym leader they explain that all three are the gym leaders. Ash asks for a gym battle and the girls agree (begrudgingly) as the girl with Red hair comes and says her name is Daisy an she will be the one he battles, Ash nods and heads to the arena with her.
At the arena she tells him that this will be a two on two battle where he will be allowed switching where she is not. Ash nods understanding and now the battle can begin. She sends out a Goldeen. As Ash chooses Beedrill. As he is allowed the first move he orders a Poison Sting as the bee Pokemon flies at the gold fish
Pokemon Daisy orders it to dive into the water dodging the attack as she then orders a horn attack as the Pokemon jumps out the water but Ash orders a Twineedle the moves clash but Ash orders a Poison Sting in the right stinger. Beedrill executed the attack hitting the Pokemon and poisoning it. Daisy order a Water Gun which hits doing some damage but Ash orders a new move X-Scissor the move catches Daisy off guard, because of this she could not order a dodge and Goldeen was hit knocking him out and winning Ash the first round she returns it and sends out her final Pokemon Seel. Ash keeps Beedrill in and orders a Poison Sting. As the bee Pokemon flies at it she orders a Ice Shard which hit Beedrill doing a lot of damage Ash orders a X-Scissor which almost hits but Seel dives under water and when Beedrill is confused on where it went she orders a Ice Shard which hits Beedrill knocking it out. Ash scowls returning it calling it Pathetic as He sends out Bulbasaur. As Seel come out of the water it is time for the final round as Ash orders a Poison Powder which almost hits if it didn't go under water Ash orders a Razor Leaf which follows Seel and hits it doing massive damage. In desperation she orders a Water Gun, Ash orders a dodge and orders a Sunny Day as the sunlight is set up weakening the water type. She orders a final Water Gun. Ash orders a Solar Beam and since the sun is up it charges instantly and releases a bright light of Solar energy, the move overpowered the Water Gun and hits the Seel Pokemon knocking it out and winning Ash the Badge as then grabs the badge and walks away calling them pathetic shattering what was left of the girls confidence.
After a trip to the Pokemon Center he was back on the rode to Vermilion City. While walking he runs into a group of kids who were talking about a gym not registered in the Pokemon League so he decides to check it out and once he reaches he sees a scoreboard which says 98 wins 0 loses "so the gym leader is undefeated" Ash said hoping to battle a trainer like this. When he enters he is greeted by a Boy with green hair with a whip on his belt as well as Sandshrew next to him. He asks Ash if he is here for a battle, Ash nods introducing himself, the boy introduces himself as A.J and says he is the owner he tells Ash to follow him as they make there way to a battle as A.J explains that it is a one on one. Ash excepts and sends out Charmander A.J sends out Sandshrew and now the battle can begin. Ash orders and Ancient Power as A.J orders a Scratch which actually cut through Ancient Power only getting hit by one A.J then orders a Rollout, Ash orders a Dragon Breath which hits doing massive damage A.J orders a Dig and Ash tells him to be on guard but Sandshrew emerges from behind him hit him with Scratch doing surprisingly amounts of damage Ash orders a Counter which almost hits but Sandshrew dodges and uses Rollout. Both boys knowing this could be the final hit orders a Defense Curl Rollout and Flare Blitz. Both attacks clash and when the smoke clears the battle turns out to have ended in a tie as both Pokemon are knockout. Recalling there Pokemon A.J congratulates Ash and tells him he has never tied before and asks him to participate in a tournament he will be hosting in a couple days Ash accepts and will come back to participate and with that our hero leaves the gym.
Now we see our hero finally reach Vermilion City and is now ready to get his third gym badge. After a quick trip to the Pokemon Center Ash heads to the gym to take on Lt.Surge. The battle gets under way immediately with Lt.Surge using Magnemite against Charmander with the outcome of the battle being Charmander picking up the win with a last minute strategy of using Smokescreen to hide and see where Magnemite is and hit it with a Flamethrower. The next battle is against Voltorb and Beedrill. Beedrill is able to do some damage but faints. Ash recalls it and sends out Charmander to finish it of in a double knockout with it using explosion. Both down to their final Pokemon they send out Raichu and Bulbasaur. Raichu was tuff no doubt but Ash noticed that it didn't have a single speed move like Agility or a move like Double Team but Ash figured it out that Lt.Surge evolved his Pikachu immediately without letting it learn a single speed move. So he used Bulbasaur's speed to evade Raichu and strike it hard. In the end Raichu let out a Thunder against Solar Beam. Which shook the gym but in the end Bulbasaur was the victor and even evolved into Ivysaur. Which made Ash smirk that he obtained his third gym badge and heads to fight in A.J's tournament.
