Chapter 11: Tournament and Release

Our story picks up as our hero makes his way to A.J's gym for the Tournament he is holding. Once he reaches said place he sees a bunch of people wanting to sign up. This goes on for a while but all applicants are signed up there are a total of 40 people. All the applicants move to the middle of the battle are while all the spectators go to a seating area. A.J then holds up a microphone and welcomes everyone to his tournament he explains that the battles will be held as follows:

they will have a randomized selection of who battles the battles will be one on one in this round and once we have our top 20 participants round 2 will begin and this time it will be a two on two again once we have our top 10 we will continue with our two on two battles but the top 5 will battle each other in a three on three battle until the a winner is decided. Everybody nods understanding the tournament bracket then A.J speaks again explaining the prizes for 3rd place is 100poke, for 2nd place 1000poke and for 1st place it is 10000poke. All competitors cheered wanting to get any of the prizes especially 1st prize all of them then lined up and picked a number from a box this will be how they determine the battles. When it is all said and done Ash is up first against Trainer and his Nidorino.

Both Trainers enter the battle field and position them selves on opposite sides of the field. The trainer is pretty cocky telling Ash he should just back down now and save himself the embarrassment of losing. Ash doesn't even pay him any mind and this pisses off the Nidorino Trainer. Ash then sends out Charmander as A.J hits a bell signalling for the battle to begin, immediately the Trainer orders a Poison Jab, as the Pokemon runs at Charmander Ash orders a Dig as the fire type burrows underground. The poison Pokemon stops and stands there confused his trainer tells him to look out as Charmander come out of the ground as Ash yells for a Flare Blitz. Charmander then rushes at Nidorino with fire encasing him as he hits it causing an explosion. As the dust settles Nidorino is unconscious and Charmander stands above it as A.J declares Ash as the winner he returns Charmander and walks away looking at the trainer and calling him pathetic.

Meanwhile a certain trainer and his Pikachu were shocked to see Ash here but was not surprised as he knew Ash would not miss something like this. After a while of watching battles it was his turn and he was a against a trainer a with an Ekans since he battled Team Rocket all the time he was able to beat Ekans with Squirtle. Ash saw the battle and was not impressed so he had beaten his opponent but to him his opponent was more pathetic than he ever was so they were bound to lose. Eventually all the first round battles will be delt with now there are only 20 participants and later the second round will commence. About an hour later the second round began and Ash was now battling a Girl with a Bellsprout and Meowth. He was able make quick work of Both Pokemon with Charmander and Ivysaur. Ritchie's Battle comes a while later with him battling trainer and his Geodude and Growlithe. He beats them with his Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Ash is a little impressed that Ritchie had the starters as they are said to be rare just like his Charmander but to him he was still weak and pathetic. Eventually round three will begin and again Ash and Ritchie make it past this round beating there opponents reaching them to the top 5 and now this is where it really come down. After eventually beating there opponents (Ash had to fight two) now it all comes down to Ash vs Ritchie in the final round. This will be a three on three who will win find out now. As our protagonists are ready to battle and now we will see who will win. The battle begins with Ritchie sending out Pidgeotto as Ash sends out Spearow this became and Aerial battle and the battle ends in Spearow winning as Ash sends out Butterfree who takes it out with a Sleep Powder. Ash recalls it calling it Pathetic as he sends out Ivysaur who manages to take out Butterfree leaving Ritchie with one Pokemon Pikachu who believe it or not manages to take out Ivysaur. Leaving Ash with one as he sends out Charmander. He orders a Flamethrower as the fire Pokemon executes the attack Pikachu dodges and hits with a Quick Attack which hit doing damage. Ash then orders him to use Ancient Power as stones float up and attack the mouse he dodges a few but two manage to hit as Ritchie orders a Thunderbolt and Ash orders a Flamethrower both attacks hit damaging both at this point both are ready to collapse. Both trainers then order a Quick Attack and Dragon Rush both Pokemon run at each other and collide sending a shockwave around the arena as the dust settles both Pokemon are still standing until

Charmander collapses meaning Ritchie won the tournament. Cheers rain upon the trainers as Ash scowls telling Charmander to follow him as he takes it outside. Richie and his friends see this and follow him behind the arena Ash then releases Charmander telling him to take a hike saying that he is pathetic and begins to walk away as he walks away he sees Ritchie talking to it and overhears them with Ritchie telling it that he is amazing and asks him to join him this gets under Ash's skin but walks away as Ritchie captures it. Eventually the awards will be given out as A.J thanks everyone who came. Just as Ash is leaving he tells Ritchie that if he wants that pathetic Charmander he can have it because they are both pathetic and leaves now heading back to Vermilion City and Ritchie is happy to have a new Pokemon and Friend.
