Author's note: So I'm back. I got a review asking for an update which moved me to continue. Thank you, anonymous reviewer. I just want to mention something about this story so no one gets the wrong idea. While it will contain action (It is a DBZ story, after all.) it is a romance story between Chichi and Vegeta. That's the genre it's listed under. Also no sex scenes.

I don't hate Goku or the earthlings. Any mean thing Vegeta says and thinks about them is because he's Vegeta.

I would like to hear what you guys want: Should I write Goku with someone romantically in this story? Yes? No? With an OC? With a Dragonball character? (No slash)

How long would you all like the chapters to be?

Thanks for reading. Much love.

Goku's eyebrows furrowed in concern for his childhood friend. After a few seconds, he recalled the Sensu beans Korin had given him before leaving for the Ox King's fortress.

"I've got something that should help her, Vegeta," Goku said as he reached beneath his gi.

Vegeta watched Goku retrieve a brown satchel from inside his gi with hopeful eyes. Goku opened the small bag and extracted a green bean.

Vegeta stared confused and furious as he watched the other Saiyan in orange reach over and carefully slide the green bean past Chichi's lips.

"A bean?!" Vegeta demanded, perplexed.

"Not just any bean. It's a sensu bean." Goku responded warmly, smiling as he saw Chichi stir awake.

Vegeta watched in astonishment as the princess's eyes fluttered open in his arms. Chichi awoke to feeling as if she had just awakened from a wonderful nap. She couldn't recall the last time she felt so refreshed.

"Wait, what happened?" Chichi asked blinking in confusement, recalling her last moments before passing out.

"You fainted, so I gave you a sensu bean." Goku replied simply.

"Are you okay, woman?" Vegeta questioned as he assisted her in standing, her hand resting on his arm for support as she rose to her feet.

Shyly Chichi's eyes dropped to the floor as she heard the prince's serious and profound concern for her thick in his voice. She could only summon the strength to respond with a nod to Vegeta, her ears turning pink. Chichi brushed off her clothes in embarrassment, not knowing how to act after just learning that she had fainted.

Vegeta's shoulders visibly relaxed, relieved by her answer.

"I forgot Kami told me to fetch some sensu beans and to give one to you Vegeta," Goku confessed in embarrassment, scratching the back of his head as he held out a sensu bean to the prince.

Vegeta's brow twitched in anger at the grinning warrior near him, wanting to wipe that smile away with a punch to the gut.

"You forgot, did you?" Vegeta glared and spat.

And you're telling me she had feelings for this clown? He pondered venomously as he roughly plucked the sensu bean from Goku's palm.

Vegeta popped the bean into his mouth, chewed it up, and swallowed it. He was then afterwards instantaneously flooded with the strength he had been missing.

Vegeta couldn't stop himself from powering up, mischievously smirking as he glanced at his raised fists held before his face.

The surge of his reclaimed power running through his veins almost intoxicated him.

He chuckled darkly and envisioned Freiza's face.

Your days are numbered, Freiza. He thought with an evil glint in his eye and a smirk.

Goku and Chichi were taken aback by the empowered royal's immense strength radiating off of him.

"You've got to be kidding me." Goku exclaimed with awe, his heart racing with eagerness. "I used to think me and Piccolo were pretty strong, but you're... woah! I can't wait to reach that level of strength one day!"

Goku beamed with childlike innocence.

And here I was thinking Vegeta was strong before. Thought Chichi.

And Frieza is more powerful than him? Are you serious?

The notion sent shivers up her spine.

"Your power is incredible, Vegeta." Chichi breathed. It was all she could think to say at the magnificent strength flowing from the Saiyan prince.

Vegeta flashed her a cocky smile that transformed into a devilish chuckle at her admiration, making her face burn red. her blushing face didnt go unnoticed, causing the warrior's smile to spread further.

The royal curled his tail around his waist before turning his attention to Goku and his demeanor now serious.

"So, shall we go now to see Earth's Guardian?"

Goku smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Right!"

Vegeta mocked, "lead the way kakarot. Mustn't keep him waiting."

The three had exited the castle and were now in the courtyard. Nimbus descended from the sky and hovered beside Chichi.

"Alright you two, follow me." Goku said to the pair before zooming away into the sky.

Vegeta tsked his tongue and rolled his eyes.

"Obviously."

He then raised an eyebrow as Chichi took a step toward Nimbus.

"Do you seriously plan on riding that thing?" Vegeta questioned incredulously.

Chichi froze at his question.

"With my weak power, I can't possibly keep up with you and Goku." She replied with embarrassment.

Vegeta cocked a brow.

"I bet my dead grandmother can outrun that cloud." He remarked, looking at the yellow Nimbus in contempt.

Chichi was offended right away for Nimbus' sake. she had such fond memories of standing on such a cloud with Goku. She opened her mouth to protest.

"It's fine for a child, but not fit for a future queen." Vegeta elaborated as he walked over to her and then, much to Chichi's delightful shock, he with ease swept her off the ground and cradled her in his arms like a bride.

"You'd be left behind eating our dust if you flew on that thing. Me carrying you is a far superior idea."

"Oh. Okay. T-Thank you very much." Chichi blushed and stammered, then hid her crimson face in Vegeta's chest, wrapping her arms around his neck. Vegeta snickered at her bashfulness before shooting straight up in the air.

He smells so nice. Chichi noted, taking a whiff of his neck and breathing in his masculine scent. She closed her eyes and sighed to herself, cherishing the feeling and moment of being in his warm arms and feeling so protected.

After catching up and journeying silently behind Goku for about ten minutes, Vegeta noticed something was off with the Saiyan flying in front of him but couldn't put his finger on just what it was until it hit him out of nowhere.

"Kakarot! What happened to your tail?" Demanded Vegeta as he glared.

Goku blinked, taken off guard by the unexpected question and the severe tone.

"Oh,... Kami had it removed from me." He answered simply.

"Removed?!" Vegeta snapped, eyes widening in anger. "Kakarot, you can't be seriously telling me you let Earth's defender deprive you of your great ape transformation?"

"Ape-wha?" Balked Goku, flying slower thanks to his confusion.

"A true Saiyan warrior would never have tolerated it." Vegeta snarled angrily at the lack of self-respect for one's own Saiyan ancestry.

"Your huge primate form is now lost forever. When Freiza is pulverizing your face in as you lay in the dirt, don't even think to come crying to me about it, you fool!"

Goku was now even more confused.

He briefly considered asking Vegeta whether or not he was drunk. He was talking nonsense like Master Roshi when he drinks too many beers. He cast a quick peek behind himself at Vegeta.

"What does an ape have to do with my tail being gone? Did I miss something?" Asked Goky desperately.

Chichi was equally confused as Goku.

"Sweetie, could you kindly explain to Goku and I what you're talking about?" Chichi softly asked.

Vegeta sputtered, dumbfounded. He had assumed that they both would be aware of the helpful transformation that Goku had once possessed.

"Neither of you know about how a planet's full moon gives a Saiyan the ability to transform into a giant ape if their tail is still attached? Kakarot, didn't you realize that yourself whenever you stared at earth's moon?"

Goku came to a halt as memories surrounding his grandfather's death came rushing through his head.

"What happened? Why did you stop?!" Demanded Vegeta in annoyance after almost colliding with Goku before coming to a halt. vegeta's eyes glared daggers at the other man whose back was facing him.

"Goku?" Chichi voice wavered in worry for her friend.

"How tall is the great ape transformation?" Goku asked soberly, remembering the giant footprints surrounding and on his grandpa's destroyed home after he had been killed.

"It ranges from fifty to a hundred feet, give or take." Answered Vegeta, confused by Goku's sudden stoic manner and tone.

Goku's shoulders shook once he heard Vegeta's estimate and Chichi understood after a few seconds that her warrior friend was shedding tears.

"Goku, what's wrong? why are you crying?" She frowned.

Goku sniffed and wiped the tears from his eyes, putting an end to his weeping. He turned around, facing the stunned couple.

"All this time I had thought a monster had killed my grandpa. Turns out it was true but just that the monster was me. I don't remember doing it at all... I just remember looking at the moon one night and when I woke up..."

Chichi gasped and her hand flew to her mouth, seconds later once she recovered from the news her eyes narrowed at Goku.

"Your grandfather Gohan knew you loved him Goku! You would never intentionally kill him if you were in your right mind and he knew that." She stated firmly. "Don't blame yourself Goku, it was a terrible accident."

The words of his friend made Goku smile and brightened his face as he remembered the last time he seen his grandpa.

"Thanks, Chi. I needed to hear that." He replied, grateful of her wisdom.

"So this is it, huh? Expected something a little more grandeur." Said Vegeta snidely once his feet touched the ground of Kami's lookout.

This place is so high above the clouds. Chichi thought in awe as her beloved set her down.

Goku shielded his eyes with his hand from The bright sun and glancing far off in the distance he could see his friends.

Krillin, Yamcha, Bulma, and the rest of the gang all stood there grinning at Goku and waving.

Far off from his friends sat Piccolo with eyes clenched shut and legs crossed beneath him, deep in meditation. His expression looked as if he had just tasted something sour.

The trio walked over to the group of Goku's friends, Goku ahead of the couple and Krillin drew near to Goku.

"So what's the deal Goku? Why are we all here? Even Piccolo?" Questioned Krillin, whispering his last question to his friend as he side-eyed the scowling Namekian.

Piccolo's ears twitched for a second, making Krillin gulp and wonder if the monster had heard him.

the short fighter turned his attention back in front of him and caught sight of the scowling Vegeta and Chichi standing beside him.

"And who's that guy? A new friend of yours?"

Goku opened his mouth to answer all of Krillin's questions.

"I originally had Mr. Popo send for all of you to speak about this man."

kami's voice was heard before he was seen walking out of the lookout's building, a green weathered finger was pointed straight at Vegeta as he strode.

Confused, Chichi blinked quickly at the words Kami had spoken, attempting to process what he said.

What had he meant by that? Why would everyone need to meet together because of Vegeta?

"What? That short guy?!" Yamcha asked before scoffing. "He just seems like a normal little dude to me."

"You better hold your tongue if you know what's good for you, earthling." Vegeta hissed, glaring at Yamcha, making the young man's blood run cold.

"I won't let you lay finger on my friend," Tien said fiercely while Chiaotzu was floating close beside him with furrowed brows.

The Saiyan chuckled darkly, sensing their weak power levels.

"Believe me, I would need much less than a finger to kill him if I so wished."

the sheer confidence in his voice and along with the unraveling and sight of Vegeta's tail led the three fighters and the rest of the friends to turn pale with fright and shock.

"Vegeta!" Chichi scolded, bringing the male royal back to senses. He had forgotten to consider that Kakarott's foolish and pathetic friends might be her acquaintances too.

"They started it. I'm just finishing it." Replied Vegeta to his flame, closing his eyes and crossing his arms.

The small yet significant exchange between the two royals grabbed Bulma's attention. The men around her may not have seen it, but she knew from experience when a woman could with ease correct such a man like that it could only mean one thing.

Bulma couldn't stop the small smile from spreading on her face as she rested her head on Yamcha's arm, blue eyes sparkling with happiness for Chichi who she had felt so sorry for after Goku had turned her down.

with one eye opened, Vegeta looked over at Kami, studying him.

"This old frail Nemekian is Earth's guardian? Is this some kind of joke? What kind of protector is this? And just how the hell many of you green slugs are on this planet?"

Kami chuckled to himself, knowing thanks to reading piccolo's mind earlier as to what he meant by the term Namekian.

"Just us two, your highness." He answered warmly and in a grandfatherly tone. Kami's eyes took in the faces of the others standing around, not missing Chichi's perturbed expression.

"Things have changed." Said earth's guardian simply. He looked over again at Vegeta.

"You Vegeta are no longer our concern. Would you like to be the one to explain the great threat that is approaching Earth? Or shall I?"

Vegeta put his hands on his hips, spat on the ground, and scowled.

"Might as well be me, since I'm the only one who personally knows who you must be talking about."

"An introduction of yourself also would be nice." Encouraged Kami, earning a sneer from the Prince.

"Don't push it, old man." Vegeta threatened, causing Kami to laugh again.

Vegeta turned his gaze to the group of Kakarott's friends and caught sight of piccolo who was now standing close by and staring intently at him with wintry eyes. His white cape billowed behind him in the wind.

He knew just by the look of the Namekian's face that he was about to hang on to every word that he spoke.

"My Name is Vegeta. I am the Prince of all Saiyans." Began the dignity.

In detail, he had given them the same deceptive and not entirely untrue story of who he was and the role Freiza plays in the galaxy while accurately describing the ruthlessness of the scoundrel.

When it came to the events after his crash and being in the care of Chichi he was quite precise, recounting in detail how he was cared for and how he had recently found out from Nappa about Frieza's journeying to earth.

"Even if this guy is as bad as you say he is, I mean we got nothing to worry about with Goku on our side." Spoke Krillin eagerly with confidence in his friend's strength.

Vegeta's gaze went to Krillin and hardened cruelly.

"You think your friend Kakarott will save you, do you?" Vegeta mocked with false affection.

A line formed between Krillin's brows, clearly determined no one could stand in the way of his old friend.

Woman, forgive me. Spoke Vegeta seriously into Chichi's mind, startling her and causing her to let out a small gasp.

They need to see this and you included to understand just how much danger we are all in.

Seconds passed after he had finished speaking in her mind. In the blink of an eye, Goku out of now where hunched over, hands holding on to his stomach, and just when everyone had looked over to see what was wrong with their friend, blood flew from Goku's mouth.

Goku fell to his knees, coughing up more blood. His hands went to the ground, holding himself up and above the puddle of blood he had spewed as he struggled to breathe again.

Goku's friend's cried out in concern along with Chichi. Piccolo's eyes widened and his jaw dropped.

"Goku, what's wrong man? Are you sick?" Demanded Yamcha.

"No way! I never saw Goku sick. He never gets sick." Replied Bulma who had pushed her way past the others. She laid a hand of concern on Goku's back as he was beginning to breathe again through coughing fits.

"Kakarot isn't ill. He is only like this because of me. I just punched him in the gut and none of you see that including himself."

The Z warriors and friends along with Piccolo became filled with great fear and they looked on at Vegeta with horror in their eyes.

"Frieza is much stronger than myself. Don't be naive enough to think Kakarot is going to be able to do anything for you all with his current strength other than providing you time to run for your lives before Freiza massacres him."

"What can we do? Even if we train for a year we won't have enough time to stand a chance against Freiza!" Chiaotzu cried out in dismay.

"Which is exactly why I gathered you all here." Said Kami, reminding everyone again of his presence. "A year's time spent training will certainly leave most of you still with no chance against Frieza... but in two years' time, with enough determination just maybe..."

"What are you blabbering on about?" Demanded Vegeta, considering for a moment that the elderly earth guardian might be senile.

The corner of Kami's mouth curled into a smile.

"I want you all to follow me, there's someplace I need you all to see and I will explain further.

.

.

.

"Next time you want to demonstrate something to us, how about drawing a diagram or something?" Goku asked following behind Vegeta, holding with one hand unto his sore stomach.

Kami was leading the Z team, Mr. Popo walking alongside.

"And miss the opportunity of using you as a punching bag?," Vegeta smirked. "I think not."

"'Geta!" Chichi scolded, elbowing Vegeta's side.

Vegeta chuckled in reply.

"I'm only joking, princess. Don't need to worry about your little friend."

Krillin and Yamcha in suspicion locked eyes after the pair's exchange, knowing together by each other's expression they were wondering the same: Are they or aren't they?

Unbeknownst to Chichi, she answered their men's question by resting her head on Vegeta's shoulder and softly holding onto his arm.

Everyone's eyes excluding those who already knew the couple's relationship status widened at the revelation of the them being a royal couple.

Bulma beamed at her suspicions being confirmed.

"Way to go, Chi." Bulma cheered on Chichi, making the princess look over her shoulder at her.

Bulma gave the younger woman a wink.

"You got herself a tough cutie whose a prince. Good job! I always wanted to marry a prince."

Yamcha looked over at Bulma with his hurt clear on his face.

"Oh, you have, huh?" Yamcha muttered angrily, looking away from her bitterly.

Chichi felt like her face was on fire as she blushed furiously while Vegeta suddenly started sweating profusely. He had been called many things, but a cutie from the opposite sex hadn't been one of them, to the best of his knowledge. Reluctantly he had to admit to being slight appreciative by the compliment but it was still so offensive to talk of the prince of Saiyans in such a way.

"Thank you but believe me, it wasn't of my own doing." Chichi stammered nervously. "It's something that just happened."

Bulma grinned at Yamcha's visible jealousy, peeking at him from the corner of her eyes.

"Boy, someone looks jealous. Don't worry, Yamcha. I happen to consider you my prince."

Yamcha's angry appearance visibly melted away, making Bulma snicker as he was left tongue-tied and enamored.

"Can we cut out all the cutesy wootsy love stuff, guys? Please?" Krillin pleaded, his heart dropping as he felt his chance with Bulma slipping further away tenfold. "Not all of us are as lucky in the romance department."

"You're only speaking for yourself, Krillin." Master Roshi chimed in. "I found me a hot blonde at the supermarket the other day-"

Bulma sucker-punched Roshi with a blow on the top of his head before he could finish.

The gang awkwardly followed behind Kami as he lead them through a door which they entered. They were greeted with a vast and endless white room.

Kami stepped aside, motioning for everyone to get a good look at the place.

"Mr. Popo and I agree that this place is the major key to earth's hopeful survival."

"And just what exactly is this place?" Chichi asked, stepping into the kitchen and studying her surroundings.

"It is called the hyperbolic time chamber." Answered Mr. Popo.
