Chapter 10: To the capital, Liones
(Liones castle courtyard)
While Hendrickson schemed to release the demon clan from their prison, the holy knights of the kingdom were training to prepare for their eventual battle with the seven deadly sins, mainly the new generation knights who were brutally beating the weaker, or newer knights into submission as their version of training, while a certain closed eyed knight knocked down a trainee twice her size to the ground with minimal effort.
"I give! I give!" The large trainee begged to Gulia. Who had a very bored, yet distracted expression on her face.
"Go now. Have some rest. Just be sure to avoid anyone else from Hendrickson's faction or they'll force you back here." Gulia advised as the trainee quickly ran off he could become a target of another knight. The reason Gulia was willing to let the trainee off easily was because her mind was distracted today, mainly when the roars of dawn returned from their mission with the severed head of the armor giant in their possession, which Helbram told the young knight to destroy and immediately felt like she made a mistake.
(Why am I like this today? Why is the thought of the armor giant bothering me?) Gulia thought to herself before her attention turned to the fate of the courtyard to see Jericho out of breath like she ran a long distance before she saw Gulia.
"Ah! Gulia!" Jericho exclaimed as she rushed over to her partner.
"Jericho? Where were you? I had to train without you today."
"Never mind that! I need to talk to you in private!" Jericho said as she grabbed Gulia's hand and pulled her away from the training holy knights to outside the courtyard gates from their fellow knights sight.
"So, what's wrong with you right now, and where were you?" Gulia asked.
"I tailed the roars of dawn on their mission to hunt down the armor giant. I had to see what they were up to."
"Jericho, their mission was to hunt one of the seven deadly sins. There's nothing more to it."
"But I found out why it was just them. They weren't hunting one of the sins, it was some sort of monster wearing his armor instead!" Jericho exclaimed, much to Gulia's surprise.
"Monster? You mean like the ones roaming the country lately?" Gulia asked.
"No, it was different from the others. The sins themselves said it was some sort of demon!" Jericho stated as Gulia's interest was raised. "That's not all…One of the sins said it may have been human at some point, a holy knight too!"
"Ah! A holy knight?!" Gulia exclaimed in surprise as she realized her bad feeling about blowing up the armor giant's head had proven to be correct. Yet another part of Gulia still had doubts. "Jericho, do you have proof of this?"
'I do. I think even Sir Helbram may even know about all of this."
"How so?"
"Remember that creep in the black coat who showed up out of nowhere and volunteered to go on the armor giant mission?" Jericho asked, speaking of young Xehanort.
"How I could forget. But from Slader's report of the mission, he didn't return with the roars of dawn." Gulia said.
"That's because he was never on our side, Gulia. He just wanted to get closer to the sins for their power for some reason, and I think he may have even known what was going on."
(Flashback…)
"There, all done…" Sora said as he, Ryuko and Meliodas stood over the makeshift grave they made for Dale and used a piece of Gowther's broken armor as the marker, which the goat sin of lust provided and asked if it was a sign of their apparent friendship.
"Sorry it's not much, Dale. A knight and a father like you deserved better." Meliodas spoke to the grave.
"It's actually kinda nice in this spot. You know, without all the mass destruction we caused out here." Ryuko stated while Elizabeth approached with her hands held together in a prayer.
"Rest in peace, sir Dale…" Elizabeth said as Sora came over and put a supporting hand on her shoulder, which Meliodas took notice of.
"Hey, are you two friends again? Looks like you're both friendly towards each other again." Meliodas asked.
"Yeah, we just needed to talk things through. Get some stuff off our chests." Sora answered.
"Turns out, it was what we both wanted. Now things are pretty much back to normal…" Elizabeth said.
"That's great to hear!" Meliodas said with glee, happy that the two were able to mend their friendship before remembering about Veronica. "So…Despite what happened.."
"I'm still gonna keep my promise to Elizabeth and save her father and other sister, and…I also promised to explain some things too." Sora said as the group began walking from Dale's grave.
"Really? Like what?"
"Well, let's just say that Sora's islands, and mine and Satsuki's hometown are a lot farther away than you actually think." Ryuko answered as the group vanished from sight, leaving Dale's grave alone, as well as Jericho, who came out of hiding from a pile of rocks nearby.
"About time!" Jericho said as she rushed over to Dale's grave.
"Sorry about this, but I need answers!" Jericho stated as she began digging at the grave and moving aside rocks until the holy knight found what she was looking for, the head of the deceased Dale and found the necklace around his neck, which Jericho carefully removed off the body.
"You really were a human being, weren't you?" Jericho questioned as she held the necklace in front of her face.
"It's like looking into a mirror, isn't it?" A voice from behind Jericho spoke, startling her as she quickly turned around to see young Xehanort.
(Music:Xehanort~The early years~)
"What the-?! What are you doing back here?!"
"I thought I'd appreciate your reaction to what your own master has done to this man. Quite horrible, isn't it?" Xehanort asked with amusement in his voice while Jericho had put together what he had just said.
"What? Do you know what the hell is going on here? DId you do this?!" Jericho exclaimed.
"I did not cause this, it's like I just said. One of your masters has done this." Xehanort answered as Jericho pointed her sword at his throat threateningly.
"Do you think I'm dumb or something?! Not long after those dark monsters showed up in Britannia, some creepy new guy in our ranks is suddenly the star of the show. If you ask me, you're behind it all. Including whatever happened to this man!" Jericho accused the time traveler, while Xehanort kept a neutral face before lifting his hand and then snapping his fingers and suddenly Jericho found herself feeling the same painful surge she felt when she drank the demon's blood overwhelmed her and then dropped to her knees.
"*Cough! Cough!*" Jericho coughed as she hurled up blood from her mouth while Xehanort kneeled down to eye level with her.
"Hmmp. Is that all to rein you in? Maybe you're not a good choice for a vessel to consider, especially since you have no common sense to call your own." Xehanort stated.
"What the-*Cough*-Hell are you going on about?!"
"You and many other holy knights believe you are all destined to battle some great darkness that the seven deadly sins are at the center of. No…You and your companions are only feeding that darkness."
"The…Seven deadly sins murdered grand master Zaratras ten years ago, you idiot. We're only getting ready to finally make them answer for their sins against us and the people." Jericho argued as she struggled to stay conscious from the pain.
"Yet with every man, woman and child the so-called holy knight's sacrifice for their grand cause is the source of all the recent misery. No. Not the sins, it's all of you. If you want the answers to why…" Xehanort said as he leaned towards Jericho's ear. "Look no further…Then your own masters…"
"Ah!" Jericho gasped as she was finally able to breath easily and found that the intense pain was gone before instinctively looking up to see that Xehanort was gone, nowhere in sight. Much to Jericho's surprise and a bit to her fear.
"That's it, I gotta get back." Jericho said as she got to her feet and turned around to prepare to return to Liones, only to meet the sight of Dale's open grave and felt a small amount of guilt for going through it.
"*Sigh*. Guess I better clean that up first, in case that really is Gulia's dad…"
(Present time…)
"That man claimed that the grandmasters knew about that creature?" Gulia asked after Jericho finished telling her story.
"I mean..It kinda makes sense if you ask me. Sir Helbram works directly for Hendrickson, right? So what if he gave Helbram the order to have the armor giant killed, to cover up what it really was?" Jericho theorized, although Gulia still had her doubts.
"I'm not so sure about that."
"What about those monsters that have been showing up lately?!" Jericho exclaimed as she shouted straight into Gulia's face. "Remember back at the festival? Those things didn't attack until the moment we got there, and I doubt it was the seven deadly sins that called them! Plus, more showed up when sir Helbram joined the battle!"
"Jericho, stop! What you're saying is a serious accusation. The leaders of the holy knight can't possibly be behind the surge of monsters lately, let alone one they wanted killed." Gulia said, stern in her faith while Jericho huffed in annoyance.
"Okay, fine. I didn't want to say this yet, but that monster the roars of dawn went after…It was apparently human once, and Meliodas himself said it was your father…" Jericho said as Gulia froze in place at the news, completely unable to properly react.
"I..I don't…Jericho, my father disappeared years ago, it couldn't have possibly been him…"
"I thought you might not be convinced yet, so I made sure to bring this back with me." Jericho said as she pulled out the necklace she retrieved from Dale's grave, and Gulia recognized from the memories she had of her father and was completely overwhelmed by shock.
"T-That can't be! That's-!" Gulia said as she took the necklace from Jericho to inspect it closer, and was able to confirm it indeed belonged to her long lost father which she then clutched tightly in her hands after coming to a decision. "Jericho…"
"Uh…Yeah?"
"Get your gear ready. We're going to investigate Hendrickson's magical research building. If there is anything about my father, or the dark monsters in there, we will find it."
(Boar hat tavern)
After finishing burying Dale in the forest Sora and the gang returned to the boar hat to clean up from ' attack(Which Sora promised to explain) and quickly repaired the damage done to the tavern while Meliodas said farewell to Barzaar. Now Elizabeth was properly saying hello to Gowther after finding out he was Alan.
"Nice to meet you, sir Gowther. My name is Elizabeth, I'm the third princess of Liones." Elizabeth greeted as Gowther gave his usual fish eyed expression.
"It's nice to meet you for real, Al-I mean, Gowther. Like we said before, I'm Sora. And that's Ryuko and Satsuki." Sora reintroduced himself and the two sisters.
"Can we ask you to join us on our quest to save the kingdom from the holy knights?" Elizabeth asked as Gowther continued to stare.
"...No." Gowther said, much to everyone's dumbfoundment.
"NO?!" The group said.
"This isn't the first time we met." Gowther continued his answer, much to Elizabeth and Sora's confusion.
"Really?" Elizabeth asked.
"We crossed path before in Ordan, and before that, you were acquainted with us when you were only a small child."
"Wait, you were friends with Meliodas and the others when you were a kid, Elizabeth?" Sora asked.
"I don't remember that at all…"
"Well whaddya know? So she was the small runt hanging around the king." Ban said.
"Hehe, how weird, I totally don't remember that." Diane giggled.
"You guys didn't remember a little girl, who happened to be the daughter of the king you were working for?" Ryuko asked.
"We didn't get paid to pay attention." Ban answered as Ryuko had a sweetdrop on her forehead.
"I swear, you're all sharing one brain cell each…"
"So, I guess this means that Elizabeth met Meliodas before too, right?" Sora questioned.
"Of course she did." Meliodas answered as he approached the group after saying goodbye to Barzaar.
"Oh, sir Meliodas!" Elizabeth said.
"So, what'll it be Gowther? Wanna join up with us?"
"I think I should. It was the king who appointed me to the seven deadly sins. So the least I can do in return is submit to his daughter's wishes." Gowther said
(Music: Bounce-O-Rama~Kh3 ver~)
"Great! And with you, our seven deadly sin count is up to five! Let's get drunk to celebrate!" Meliodas cheered.
"You guys get drunk all the time! This guy over here is drunk right now!" Ryuko stated as she pointed to Ban.
"It's true! I got drunk when we got back here." Ban said.
"I think you're falling on deaf ears, Ryuko." Satsuki said while shaking her head.
"We might as well quit while you're ahead. Diane has gotten the her sized barrels of ale." King said as Diane indeed slammed two gigantic barrels onto the ground in front of the tavern.
"C'mon! Let's get to drinking!" Diane exclaimed with excitement.
"Well, captain. Let's see who can drink more without passing out!" Ban said with a competitive smile that Meliodas returned.
"Alright! But it's an automatic loss if one of us throws up!" Meliodas said as Sora, Ryuko, Satsuki and Gowther took seats at a nearby table.
"It's a miracle he's able to run a tavern at all, let alone have the supply for it." Satsuki said as Elizabeth came over and brought over plates of food for everyone.
"Go on, eat. I'm pretty sure we have something here you like." Elizabeth said, offering food to Gowther.
"I have no preferences when it comes to food." Gowther answered.
"Well you better eat the food in front of you before the pink black hole gets to it." Ryuko said as she nudged to Hawk, who was eating a bowl of scraps attached to his chin.
"Hey there, Gowther! I'm, sir Hawk! Captain of the order of scrap disposal! If you have any questions, just ask! I'm always happy to help!" Hawk said between bites of his food while Gowther stared at him.
"How in the world does a pig know how to speak?" Gowther asked the most obvious question.
"No idea."
"So why are you eating all those scraps?"
"Cause they're yummy!"
"That's all." Gowther finished with his questions as he looked away.
"You're done already? Now you gotta have more questions than that." Hawk said before shrugging and going back to eating.
"Actually, I got a question for myself." Sora said.
"You wish to know if I have seen other people who are dressed similar to yourself and possess a key shaped sword like the one you have." Gowther said, surprising Sora and the others by how accurate he was.
"Uh…Yeah. That was going to ask…"
"What are you? Some sort of mind reader?" Ryuko asked.
"In fact, I am. Haven't you noticed my magic take its effect on you?" Gowther said he pointed at Sora's neck, where a small flake of light was attached to.
"What the?" Sora said before pulling the small light off his neck and caused it to vanish.
"Hey, what are you doing proding around in Sora's Head for?!" Ryuko exclaimed.
"I do not like the fact you are reading our minds without consent." Satsuki stated as she glared at Gowther.
"You are upset. Perhaps I put you at ease by showing you I do this all the time." Gowther said as he pointed at Diane and Ban and shot patches of light at their necks.
"Did he just-?" King asked.
"He sure did…" Ban confirmed.
"Oh no, what's he going to say this time?" Diane said in worry.
"Diane, you claim to be 29 feet tall, when in fact, you know you're actually closer to 30." Gowther stated as the giantess reeled in embarrassment.
"Huh?!"
"The fudging of your weight is even more severe-" Gowther continued before Diane started pummeling him with her fist and smashed the ground with him.
"What is wrong with you, Gowther?! Why do you have to be so mean?! A lady is allowed to keep some secrets, you jerk!" Diane exclaimed as she continued her punching.
"What's the point in lying when you're as tall as she is?" Meliodas asked.
"I don't get it either…" Sora agreed.
"You're boys. You wouldn't understand." Elizabeth explained.
"Plus, he totally deserved that." Ryuko said as Diane stopped punching Gowther and he climbed out of the crater he was punched into.
"As for you Ban. During the battle with the vampires in Edinburgh 12 years ago, you got rather unreasonably drunk." Gowther said as he wiped his glasses.
"Yeah, that's right. I got pretty hammered and decided not to join the mission. I said I was sorry." Ban said as he took a drink out of a wine bottle.
"But you didn't apologize for using physical hunt to steal King and Diane's power, or for laughing at them as you watched them both struggle." Gowther continued as Ban took a large spit take for his prank being revealed as Diane and King angrily glared at him from behind.
"Oh…So that explains why I felt so weak all of a sudden." Diane said as she cracked her knuckles.
"That…Was you?" King asked as he summoned his spear in its increase formation.
"C-Come on, it was a long time. Forget it-" Ban said before Diane picked him up and squeezed him into a bloody pulp before throwing him into the distance.
"Nobody can take a joke anymorrrrreeeee!" Ban echoed as he crashed faraway into the trees.
(Music ends)
"Well, that was fun to watch. But enough of airing everyone's dirty laundry." Meliodas said as he turned to Gowther with a serious expression. "Gowther, I was wondering about the day we split up ten years ago. I was wondering if-"
"You wish to know about who assaulted you." Gowther said as he already used a line of light from his finger to read Meliodas' mind. "I see your own memory is clouded, incomplete, but you wish out who attacked you when we fled."
"Do you know?"
"Yes. I do in fact. It was the boar sin of gluttony, Merlin." Gowther answered as Meliodas was shocked by the answer, not expecting one of his own squad to be the reason for the gap in his memory.
"Merlin? But why?"
"I can't speak to her motive. I did hear several rumors, but none of them proved to be reliable. And whenever I got close to the truth, she would disappear again without a trace." Gowther explained as Sora caught mention of Merlin's name.
"Wait, did you say Merlin? I know a Merlin." Sora said, much to Meliodas' surprise.
"You do? How?" Meliodas asked.
"Well, actually that depends. Is your Merlin an old wizard with a bread, wearing a blue hat and has a bag full of shrunken furniture?"
"Huh? No, Merlin is a woman, and she is certainly some man wizard. At least I don't think she is anyway." Meliodas said as he started pondering if his version of Merlin was a woman at all.
"Could this have anything to do with your earlier question for me?" Gowther asked.
"Properly. But, Gowther, have by any chance-?" Sora asked.
"No, I haven't met with any of your allies." Gowther answered as Sora hung his head in disappointment.
"Figures, that five of seven misses…" Ryuko said.
"Now there's only two sins left to ask." Satsuki said.
"Although…" Gowther continued as Sora's head perked back up. "Merlin is quite knowledgeable in many arts that could help track down your friends, even if she hasn't met any of them."
"Really? You have no idea how great that would be!" Sora said he shot up from his seat in excitement.
"Could this relate to what you wanted to tell everyone, about why you're really here in Britannia for?" Elizabeth spoke up as everyone looked towards her as she looked Sora in the eyes, reminding him of their promise.
"Oh, right…"
"Sora, what is Elizabeth going on about?" Meliodas asked as the rest of the sins leaned in.
"Does this have anything to do with the monsters rampaging in Britannia?" King asked about the heartless.
"Who's that guy that looks like you?" Diane asked about Vanitas while Ban stumbled out of the woods, returning from being thrown by Diane in time to hear what the group was talking about and narrowed his eyes.
"I knew it…You kids were hiding something from us this whole time!" Ban said, confirming his long time suspicions about Sora's group.
"What, hold on." Sora requested before Ban surprisingly rushed over and grabbed him by the collar of Sora's shirt.
"Hell no! I ain't waiting for you for any more excuses! You're hiding something and I bet it has something to do with everything weird about you! So spill it!" Ban demanded threateningly before a hand grabbed his arm.
"Ban!" Meliodas said as Ban looked down to see his captain glaring at him. "Sora was just about to tell us, now let him go!"
"...Fine." Ban reluctantly said as he released Sora from his grasp. "You, start talking."
"Alright then, where should I start?" Sora said.
"How about the fourth scent I've detected on yourself, it smells an awful lot like some sort of cat." Gowther said, clearly detecting Chirithy's presence.
"What cat? I would've smelled a cat ages ago if there was one around." Hawk said.
"Actually, he's not exactly a cat. Hey, Chirithy! You come on out!" Sora called out as the dream eater companion appeared in a puff of smoke, surprising the sins by his sudden appearance.
"*Yawn!* About time. I was wondering when you would let me come out again, I'd get to stretch my legs every now and again." Chirithy said as everyone but Sora's group remained dumbfounded at the small creature's appearance.
"It's…some sort of little stuffed animal or something…" Meliodas stated.
"It's clearly more than that!" Ban exclaimed.
"I've never seen such a creature before in my life. What is it exact-?" King questioned before being interrupted by the smitten Elizabeth and Diane.
"IT'S SO CUTE!" Elizabeth and Diane squealed at the same time with stars in their eyes as Chirithy knew what was coming.
"Uh oh…" Chirithy said before Elizabeth scoped him up into a tight loving embrace.
"It's the most adorable thing I've ever seen in my whole life! I never wanna let him go!" Elizabeth exclaimed as she nuzzled against Chirithy's cheek's.
"Elizabeth, can I have a turn with him? Please?" Diane requested as Chirithy became filled with fear as he could only imagine what the giant girl might do to him if she got him.
"Nope! That's enough for me!" Chirithy said as he teleported out of Elizabeth's arms and reappeared on the table in a slump while Elizabeth and Diane were disappointed the dream eater was able to escape from them.
"So, Sora. What's your little friend here supposed to be? And does he have to do anything?" Meliodas questioned as he poked Chirithy's face before it was slapped away.
"I hope it's some dumb pet of yours, we don't need any pets around here!" Hawk said.
"Then what do you classify as then? And say something other than scrap disposal order." Satsuki asked the boar.
"Well,I…Hmmm…." Hawk paused as he tried to find an answer, only to be stumped while Sora was ready to continue.
"You see, Chirithy here is a dream eater and I asked him to stick around on our journey since he told me what I have to do to save Kairi." Sora explained.
"Save her? I thought she was missing or something like that?" Meliodas asked.
"She is…But…" Sora paused as he reached into his jacket pocket and took out both the gummiphone and the fragment of Kairi's heart, both of which caught the boar hat tavern crew's attention.
"What do any of you know about other worlds?" Sora questioned as he began to explain his story to Meliodas and the others, how he lost Kairi as well as how he met Ryuko and Satsuki, including Chirithy too. To say the sins were stunned(Minus Gowther) was understatement as none of them had any words to say at all to Sora's group.
"That was everything you guys needed to know. I'm sorry we kept all of this from you…"
"Sora thought keeping you all in the dark was the best way to keep you safe. But when Vanitas attacked, that was no longer possible." Satsuki explained as she looked at Elizabeth, who looked at the ground knowing that story.
"Trust me, it was killing him, not thinking of warning all of ya." Ryuko said while Sora's face grew more apologetic.
"I'm sorry, everyone. For getting you caught up in my mess, I should've been more honest…" Sora apologized.
"Tch, yeah, you should've." Ban scoffed as King and Diane gave him dirty looks.
"Ban, could you not?" King said.
"He just poured his heart out and that's what you gotta say?!" Diane exclaimed angrily.
"No…He's right, I wish I said something sooner. Maybe I could've stopped what happened to Elizabeth's sister if I.." Sora said as Meliodas gripped his arm to get him to stop.
"No, there's no way of knowing what else might've happened even if you warned us. The holy knights there would've killed her instead, or who knows what else. It's not really your fault, Sora." Meliodas said while Elizabeth approached and placed a supporting hand on Sora's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry that you were shouldering all of this on your own. When my father said a hero of the stars would help save Britanna, I didn't think he meant it so literally. I mean, the ideas of these other worlds is far beyond my comprehension, yet I can somehow imagine it. But I can also imagine how hard this burden is on you…" Elizabeth said as Sora's face told her enough of the truth. "So, I don't blame you if you decided to leave right now to continue on your own journey again."
"No, I can't do that, Elizabeth. I made a promise to you already and I don't intend to go back on it. Besides, you, Meliodas and the other sins are still part of my journey anyway." Sora assured, much to Meliodas and the others confusion.
"Whaddya mean by that?" Ban asked.
"This is where me and Satsuki are relevant. Back at home, Sora found a piece of Kairi there, inside of me in fact." Ryuko explained.
"With the help of another wielder of the keyblade to help. That's why Sora needs to find the others, which is why he needs to be on your journey to find the seven deadly sins." Satsuki continued.
"But there's only two sins left to look for. Your chances are getting lower." King stated.
'Your chances of success are actually lower than 10.337%." Gowther added as King and Diane stared at him with annoyance, which he took notice of. "Oh, I suppose I wasn't meant to say that?"
"I know I'm close now. Especially now that I've figured out where the next piece of Kairi's heart is." Sora said, much to everyone else's surprise.
"Sora, you've really figured it out?!" Ryuko exclaimed as Sora nodded in conformation.
"Really? Where do you think it is?" Elizabeth asked as Sora turned to her.
"I think it's inside you, Elizabeth." Sora answered as the princess and the sins remained in shock and awe at the answer.
"W-what? What makes you think I have it?"
"Back in town, when we made up with each other. You kinda had a glow about you that was kinda familiar, kinda like the crystal I have. Plus, Chirithy said that the pieces of Kairi's heart may have sought out hearts similar to hers, isn't that right?" Sora said as he turned towards the dream eater.
'Uh, something like that. The girl over there has a heart full of perseverance, which is a trait I'm guessing Kairi had." Chirithy said, speaking of Ryuko.
"What the heck does that mean?" Ryuko asked.
"He means you're stubborn." Satsuki answered.
"Well, I guess that makes-Hey!"
"Elizabeth is also pretty kind like Kairi. They certainly have that in common." Sora added.
"But how can you be so sure it's me, though?" Elizabeth said as Sora looked at the fragment of Kairi's heart and got an idea as he picked it up.
"One way to be sure." Sora said as he held the fragment closer to Elizabeth and it reacted by glowing with a bright pink light and a quick flash of light appeared over the princess' chest where her own heart would be, much to Elizabeth's and the others' surprise. "I knew it…"
"So…I do have it?"
"It would seem like it. For a moment, I felt a second presence coming from the princess." King stated.
"So if Elizabeth does have a piece of Kairi's heart, then I guess we need to find the remaining sins now more than ever." Meliodas suggested.
"No, I don't think looking for the other sins is gonna do any good right now. Not when I think they're in one place right now." Sora said as Meliodas knew what he was suggesting right now.
"You want to go to the capital, Liones. Don't you?" Meliodas asked as Sora nodded in conformation, much to everyone else's shock.
"What?! No! We can't yet!" King exclaimed.
"We don't even have all seven sins yet!" Diane shouted.
"Whoa, hold on a second, kid. You might be rushing into this one." Ban said as well, mainly out of concern for Sora.
"Sora, the others are right, we might not be ready yet!" Elizabeth interjected as well.
"Actually…" Gowther spoke up as everyone turned to him. "With our current numbers, along with Sora half of the group as well as the maid who he can call for help, we have a 75.23% chance of successfully infiltrating the capital right now."
"And if any of my friends will be there?" Sora asked.
"I suspect a ten percent increase in our odds. But the chances of your friends appearing are only fifty percent."
"I say we take on those odds. Let's go to Liones right now!" Meliodas stated as everyone turned to him to see the serious expression on his face. "There's something I also need to get from there too."
"It's your broken sword, isn't it, Meliodas?" Satsuki asked as the captain nodded his head to answer.
"So you're finally gonna tell us about why that hunk of junk was so important to you now?" Ryuko asked.
"That sword is actually a key…To revive the demon clan!" Meliodas said as everyone's face grew wide with shock, mainly Ban.
"The demon clan?!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
(Liones: Castle)
(Music: Burning ambition~Kh3 cutscene~)
"A holy war?! Have you gone mad, Hendrickson?!" Dreyfus yelled at his co-grandmaster after Hendrickson requested to meet with him in private in the castle and admitted his desired goal with his new generation of holy knights.
"Dreyfus, you yourself prophesied a war in which the holy knights are the guiding hands of light, and the seven deadly sins are the bloodline of darkness…But I have a different vision of our requires even more of us." Hendrick said as turned his attention to a nearby window to look out into the town below.
"You really think the demon race is the true bloodline of darkness? And those monsters that have recently appeared are some extension of their reach?"
"In ancient times, there was another war that supposedly took place before the first holy war, one violent enough that created a power vacuum of light and darkness that the demon race sought to take advantage of, leading to their battle with the other four clans. They were more than capable opponents." Hendrickson explained while Dreyfus was convinced his friend had gone mad.
"You sick bastard, I knew you must be plotting something behind my back, but this-" Dreyfus said with disgust while Hendrickson merely smirked.
"Preparations are nearly complete…Now, all that remains is finding the last fragment and breaking the seal." Hendrickson confessed as Dreyfus gasped in realization that his partner had already nearly finished his scheme while Hendrickson snapped his fingers and Dreyfus turned around to see a woman wearing a steel mask with a single glowing red eye nodding as if she received an order before leaving the room.
"Are you out of your mind?! Do you really think humans stand a chance against those things?" Dreyfus exclaimed as he approached Hendrickson with the intent to shake some sense into him.
"I'm quite confident we can win. Towards that end, I have studied the demons for many years, and have reaped various results. The new generation is one of them."
"You lie! Open your eyes! The holy knights fight for justice, and they would never free such a cursed race."
"Justice? You presume to lecture me about justice?" Hendrickson said as he turned to Deyfus with a crooked smile on his face. "Ten years ago, you longed to be a grandmaster. So much so that you sought my help in killing your own brother, Zaratras."
"...!" Dreyfus gasped in shock after Hendrickson was so casually willing to confess about how grandmaster Zaratras was truly murdered, especially out in the open where anyone could hear them before finding Hendrickson's hand on his shoulder.
"Dreyfus, I need you. Return the favor you once asked of me." Hendrickson requested as Dreyfus looked away to avoid making eye contact. "Besides, don't you at least want true justice towards the one who murdered your son, Griamore? That boy with the key?" He said, clearly lying that Sora was responsible for Griamore's current MIA status and trying to use it to his advantage.
"...Of course I do…"
"Then remember. If you get in my way, you'll never be able to bury your own sins along with Meliodas and the others."
(The boar hat)
"Whaddya think you're doing, Gowther?" Ban asked as for some reason, Gowther was grabbing his chest.
"That was the greeting I've seen the captain give to the princess." Gowther explained.
"For the last damn time, that wasn't what he was doing!" Ryuko said as Gowther let go of Ban before turning to Meliodas. "Anyway, back to the serious conversion, you were saying that your busted sword was the key to bringing the freaking apocalypse?"
"That's right, with it, the demon race can be brought back to our world and take it for themselves." Meliodas said with a serious expression on his face which Sora shared.
"All the more reason why we should get going to the Liones right Hendrickson before he can call them and give them control of the heartless. Plus, Vantias might still be there ready to cause more trouble, I need to find one of my friends there before it's too late." Sora said.
"So, I guess it's decided then! Who's coming with us?" Meliodas asked with a big excited smile on his face, only to receive a disappointing answer.
"Fun as that sounds, I think I'll pass." Ban answered.
"Besides, it's your own fault you lost your sword in the first place." King said.
"They have a point." Gowther agreed as Meliodas stayed silent for a moment before quickly burying his head under Elizabeth's skirt.
"I'm so sad…" Meliodas said with a muffled voice while Elizabeth patted his head.
"There, There." Elizabeth said in a conforming tone before Diane grabbed him with an angry grip over his antics.
"CAPTAIN!" Diane shouted before Meliodas easily slipped out of her strong grip without any effort and jumped down back to solid ground.
(Music: Strange whispers)
"Right, so the coffin of eternal darkness. That dragon hilt is a fragment of a ritual relic. According to an old legend, it's part of an old relief that was created a long time ago, one that the goddess, giant, fairy and human races created to seal away the demon race." Meliodas explained the dragon hilt's true purpose.
"Why did the holy knights want it? What could they be planning to do with something like that?" Elizabeth questioned.
"More than likely, the resurrection of the demon race." Meliodas answered as Ban scoffed.
"Those miserable bastards again?" Ban huffed as he was not looking forward to seeing anymore of the demon clan.
"Now that you mention it, wasn't it Hendrickson who turned Dale into that monster? It's not everyday you see somebody do that." King noted as it was clear the type of monster Dale was transformed into was a demon.
"Perhaps this Hendrickson was dabbling in experiments with the demons and Dale was an unwilling test subject." Satsuki surmised as she then bore a glare of familiar anger at the thought. "After all, mine and Ryuko's mother, Ragyo was the same way with the life fibers."
"You mean that stuff about living clothes that were going to eat people? I still don't believe that part." Ban said with disbelief as a certain Kamui decided to speak up after a while.
"Oh, so you mean a man who can't die or the giant green pig are very much possible, are they?" Senketsu stated as the gears in Ban's head started to click before his eyes widened.
"WHOA! Either I'm more drunk than ever, or that girl's shirt just talked to me!" Ban exclaimed.
"I did just talk to you, and I can't believe you didn't notice I was alive considering you certainly saw me blinking and never put it together!"
"I noticed it the moment we met." Gowther pointed out.
"So, if Hendrickson is anything like Ragyo at all, maybe he worships the demons, like Ragyo worshiped the life libers." Sora said, making a comparison.
"So he must be batshit crazy too." Ryuko said as she spat on Ragyo's grave while Elizabeth was in disbelief that someone she once looked up to was behind her country's suffering and other awful deeds.
"Hendrickson. I don't understand why he and Dreyfus would do such a thing. It Doesn't make sense. Why would he resurrect the demon race? What could he hope to accomplish?" Elizabeth questioned the motives of the grandmaster.
"Maybe he wants to be friends with them?" Hawk guessed.
"No way!"
"Well, then, what does he want?"
(Music ends)
"Maybe it's just like Sora said, Hendrickson probably simply worships the demons." King suggested.
"Then that idiot is not in his right mind!" Ban scoffed again as he bitterly thought of the red demon that killed Eliane while Diane had a thought.
"Hey, captain. If that sword of yours really can resurrect the demon race and Hendrickson has it, do you think he's already brought them back?" Diane asked.
"Not yet. It's a pretty powerful seal, so even if they do manage to break it, there's bound to be some kind of sign." Meliodas explained as a horrible groaning echoed nearby and alerted everyone.
"It's a sign, I think I'm getting a sign!" Hawk groaned as he broke out in a cold sweat.
"That you gotta poop?" Ban guessed.
"Aw, hell no…" Ryuko said in disgust.
"The seal is about to be broken…" Hawk groaned again as Elizabeth walked over to him.
"Hawk, are you alright?" Elizabeth asked with concern.
"Hang on! Epp!" Hawk continued to have the runs. I get why those guys were going after the sword. But what did they want with Sora and Elizabeth?"
"AH! That's it!" Sora exclaimed as everyone turned to him. "They wanted me because of the keyblade! It can open any lock, probably even that seal!"
"They most likely figured that out either thanks to Vanitas, or when Sora opened the barrier back at the prison where we found Ban, then they wouldn't need all the pieces of the seal.." Satsuki guessed.
"Doesn't explain why they want Elizabeth. Not like she would have the last piece, right?" Ryuko questioned.
"That's because the princess is the last piece to break the seal!" The steel masked woman under Hendrickson commanded explained when she suddenly appeared behind Elizabeth and Hawk, alerting everyone to her presence.
(Music: No time to think~Kh 1.5 Ver~)
"Oh crap! Get away from her, Elizabeth!" Meliodas warned as Sora quickly summoned his keyblade and rushed at the woman.
"Get away from Elizabeth!" Sora shouted as he jumped at the masked woman, only to be quickly blown away by a gust of air.
"We don't need you anymore, little vermin!" The masked woman said as she grabbed Elizabeth by the arm.
"Meliodas, Sora!" Elizabeth exclaimed as she and the woman were about to vanish in a circle of light.
"No, Elizabeth!" Meliodas yelled as he leaped forward in an attempt to stop the teleportation spell, only to miss when Elizabeth the woman were gone.
"No!" Sora shouted as Meliodas quaked with anger.
"DAMN IIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!" Meliodas yelled with enough rage to create a powerful gust of wind that blew over the whole area, surprising everyone present as the captain quickly rushed into the boar hat tavern.
"What the hell?!" Ban said with confusion over what just transpired.
"That was probably a mage. They can appear and disappear in the blink of an eye, using advanced teleportation." Gowther explained as Meliodas came running back out of the boar hat with Liz's sword in his hand.
"Sora! Let's go!" Meliodas said as he ran out ahead of the group.
"Right behind you! Ryuko, Satsuki, let's go!" Sora said as he followed right behind Meliodas.
"No sweat!" Ryuko said as she and Satsuki ran after Sora and followed Meliodas out into a wide open field while Diane followed as well.
"Captain!" Diane said.
"Follow me! We're going to the capital to save Elizabeth!" Meliodas said.
"But how? It's more than 40 miles away!" King asked as he floated right behind the group.
"Diane!" Meliodas said as he turned to the giantess and she knew right away what he wanted her to do.
Gotcha!" Diane said.
"Not so fast!" Ban said as he approached and picked up Meliodas in his grip. "I changed my mind, I'm going too!"
"Ban, would you stop fooling around!" King exclaimed.
"This is really not the time for you to get punch drunk!" Ryuko interjected.
"You guys got your reasons for going. I've got mine."
"I say the more the better. Let him go with us!" Sora said before Gowther quickly grabbed onto Ban.
"I'm going too." Gowther said.
"Oh, come on, Gowther. What are you doing?" King asked before Diane picked up the three sins in her grasp.
"Ban and the captain alway fight, so seeing them in action could be educational."
"Here goes. I might be a little off, so be careful." Diane advised.
"Just get us close, we'll take it from there." Meliodas requested.
"Right." Diane said as she reared her hand back, ready to throw. "No matter what, just bring Elizabeth back safe!"
"On it!" Meliodas said as Diane began running for more power in her throw.
"Haaaaaa!" Diane exclaimed before throwing Meliodas' group with all her might in the direction of the capital and they flew away in a streak of light.
"Whoa! Now that was a pitch!" Ryuko said in awe.
"Awesome…" King said, awestruck himself and found more reason to be in love.
"Now it's our turn!" Sora said.
"Say what?!" Ryuko exclaimed, wondering if Sora had gone crazy.
"Whait, are you sure you want me to do that?" Diane asked before Sora turned to her with a serious expression.
"Of course I am! Elizabeth and her whole kingdom is depending on us now!" Sora stated as Diane sighed in defeat.
"Oh, all right."
"Okay, huddle together, all three of us!" Satsuki said as she, Sora and Ryuko got close and locked each other's arms together before scooping up all three of them.
"This is gonna hurt when we land, isn't it?" Ryuko questioned.
"I'll handle the landing, just hold on as tight as you can!" Sora exclaimed.
"So everyone's ready? Then here comes the second pitch!" Diane said before she got into another running start before rearing her arm back for another toss.
"Yaaaaa!" Diane exclaimed as she tossed Sora's group towards Liones as well, turning them into a streak of light too.
"THIS WAS A STUIPD IDEAAAAAA!" Ryuko yelled as they flew through the air like a comet.
"I'M GOING TO HAVE WRINKLES FOR WEEKS!" Senketsu screamed, having different priorities.
"DO NOT LET GO! NO MATTER WHAT!" Satsuki shouted loud enough to be heard.
"GET READY FOR THE LANDING!" Sora shouted as he quickly got one arm free to summon the hero's origin keyblade and transformed to the counter shield and converted into its expanded form before holding out in front.
(Liones: Castle)
After Hendrickson delivered his threat to Dreyfus of revealing his role in Zaratras' murder, the long haired grandmaster stood in silence considering his options before a guard bursted into the room.
"Holy knight grand master!" The guard exclaimed to get both his superiors' attention as he approached. "Sir! It's an emergency! We've detected an enormous amount of magical power approaching from the northwest!"
"Can you tell who it is?" Dreyfus asked.
"No, sir. I'm afraid not. But power of this magnitude…"
"It must be the sins."
"Well, if it is, then that means they must have acquired the fragment." Hendrickson said with an evil smile before turning to his partner. "Dreyfus, we will speak more about this later."
"If the sins are arriving, could the one responsible for my son's disappearance be coming too?" Dreyfus asked with vengeful intention.
"Most likely. So you get your chance for justice after all." Hendrickson said as Dreyfus growled with anger which quickly faded when turned around to look outside the window towards the southend of Liones where he felt a strange powerful force coming from that direction.
"Wait, do you feel that? It's the south gate."
"Perhaps the seven deadly sins have split up to flank us from both sides." Hendrickson guessed, but Dreyfus had his doubts.
"You're wrong. This feels hundreds of times greater, and it's emanating from three unbelievably powerful sources." Dreyfus stated, with the third power feeling more foreign in origin.
"Holy knight grand master! We have a problem, sir!" The same guard from earlier exclaimed as he returned.
"What is it?"
"A massive army has appeared at the south gate! Before we even knew what happened." The guard reported, much to the surprise of both grand masters.
"An army?"
"You saw the leader?" Hendrickson asked.
"Yes, sir! It's Arthur, sir. The new king of Camelot!"
(Liones: North gate)
"Attention all warriors and holy knights! The seven deadly sins may be approaching! Reinforce the north gate and along the western ramparts!" A guard announced from a nearby watchtower that overlooked the entry of the north end of the gates to the capital as holy knights of various appearances gathered outside the gate awaiting the sins' arrival. "Holy knights are to assist wherever it's needed! Prepare for battle!"
"Huh? Look at that!" One holy knight exclaimed, pointing up into the air as a comet of light could be seen approaching fast.
"That must be them! Here they come!" Another knight warned as the comet crashed into the ground nearby in a large cloud of dust with Meliodas, Ban and Gowther quickly rushing out.
(Music: Vim and vigor~2.5 ver~)
"Hold the line! Be ready to return fire!" A holy knight ordered as the sins rushed into battle.
"The only reason we're here right now is to rescue Elizabeth. So try to keep the fighting to a minimum!" Meliodas exclaimed.
"Understood. Also, reinforcements will be landing in approximately three point seventy two seconds." Gowther said as a second comet could be seen closing in.
"Look! Another one!" A holy knight shouted as the comet crashed in a large cloud of dust as well before Sora, Ryuko and Satsuki came charging out as well.
"Made it!" Sora exclaimed.
"Thank god for that!" Ryuko said as the holy knights quickly recognized Sora upon sight.
"IT'S PRINCESS VERONICA'S MURDERER!" A holy knight shouted angrily.
"Bring him in alive! The grandmasters wish to judge him themselves!" Another holy knight exclaimed as Sora caught up with Meliodas.
"What do we do about them, Meliodas?" Sora asked while holding back his anger for once again being blamed for Veronica's death.
"We take care of them quickly! Go straight for the kill!" Meliodas responded as Ban made a grin and the holy knight charged at the group.
"Now that's what I'm talking about, captain!" Ban exclaimed in excitement as various holy knights began to attack all at once with their magical abilities.
"Aura burst! Inferno curse! Plant whip! Bullet squall! Wind shooter! Death breath! Flick stone! The many knights exclaimed as they attacked together while Meliodas drew Liz's sword.
Full counter!" Meliodas exclaimed as his signature move deflected all of the holy knights' attacks back at them and blew them away.
"The forces in the north gate have been breached!" The watchtower guard exclaimed as Sora and Meliodas' group continued rushing forward.
"If those were their toughest guys, I don't think we'll have much of a problem!" Ryuko stated before quickly being proven wrong before setting eyes on many more holy knights.
"I think you spoke too soon!" Satsuki said as she drew bakuzan and Ryuko smeared before bringing out her scissors while Sora summoned the happy gear keyblade.
"Bring them all on!" Sora exclaimed before one knight with hammers for arms stood in his path.
"I got the kid! Should be an easy-" The knight said before quickly realizing his mistake.
"Hah!" Sora exclaimed as he swung his keyblade hard enough to cause the knight to go spinning like a top as the hero light rushed by.
"Damn it! Send more men!" One holy knight shouted as dozens more of their numbers began charging at the group.
"Hey, hey! You gotta line up for your ass kickings first!" Ryuko said as she ignited her scissor blade in flames and began swinging it wildy to cut down and subdue any knights that she came across while Satsuki used precise and quick attacks from her sword and deflected a knight's axe before grabbing him by the collar.
"Tell us where you keep your prisoners, better yet, where grandmaster Hendrickson is!" Satsuki demanded with her signature intimidating stare.
"You're not getting anything out of me!" The knight spat before Satsuki decided to knock him out with a chop to his neck before Sora ran up beside her.
"Satsuki, forget trying to force answers out of them, I say plow through them and then find someone who'll actually take us to Elizabeth." Sora suggested.
"So, I guess this is where you stop playing around with them?" Satsuki asked as many more holy knights were fast approaching.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"For grandmasters Hendrickson and Dreyfus!" One of the holy knights shouted as many of them leapt straight at in a simultaneous assault, only to be blown away screaming when Sora released a blast of air with counter impact and then dashed forward to engage more soldiers.
"Thunder!" Sora shouted, raising his keyblade into the air while running and several bolts of lightning crashed down from above onto many unlucky holy knights to electrocuted and knocked out before Meliodas came running in himself.
"Don't use any magic on Meliodas!" A knight exclaimed before one swung his sword at Meliodas, only for him to deflect the attack with his own sword and then knocked out the knight with a well aimed punch to the head before continuing his charge while Ban took out several knights with a wide kick.
"Dumbasses, like you can take us down without any magic, like you stand any chance with it anyway!" Ban said while Sora and Meliodas teamed up and started taking down knights one by one together in mirroring strikes.
"Sora, there's starting to be too many of these guys! Think you can herd up more of them?" Meliodas said as he threw a gut punch into a knight and took him down before knocking out another one with a heavy swing from his sword.
"I got something just for them!" Sora answered while knocking back a knight before throwing the happy gear keyblade upwards as it split apart and transformed into the agile claws and his clothes turned into their strike form.
"Watch out! That kid has sort of strange transformation abilities!" A holy knight warned but proved futile as Sora began tearing through the holy knight's numbers with quick claw strikes and even grabbed a few and tossed them at the others.
"Meliodas!"
"My turn!" Meliodas exclaimed as he jumped into the air and swung his sword to create an air slash that tore through a dozen holy knights.
"Ban!" Sora called out as Ban appeared and grabbed Sora's arm and began to spin him around.
"I gotta say, kid. You know how to have some fun!" Ban exclaimed as he spun faster and then let Sora go into a crowd of holy knights with a drilling lunge attack that sent them scattering before Sora hopped back before his claws started changing shape again.
"Ryuko, Satsuki! You're up!" Sora shouted as his claws finished transforming into the twin Yo-Yos and the two sisters ran past him.
"Set them up-" Satsuki said as she casted a blizzaga spell that formed a mist of ice.
"Then knock 'em down!" Ryuko exclaimed as he threw out a torrent of flames with firaga which seeped into Satsuki's ice mist.
"Watch out! Combination magic!" One knight warned before some of them were either frozen or engulfed in flames.
"Get some wind magic users in here!" Another knight called out as several holy knights appeared and began using their magic to call strong winds to start blowing away Ryuko and Satsuki's fire and ice mists, only to be struck back by Sora's Yo-Yos from behind the mist.
"The hell was that?!" One knight exclaimed before being knocked by a Yo-Yo himself before Sora came flying through the mist himself and threw both Yo-Yos into a pair of holy knights with a walk the dog trick before twice as many took their place.
"Aggh! They just keep coming!" Sora groaned in annoyance before everyone else joined his side.
"They really wanna kill us, don't they?" Ryuko stated.
"We may have to take them all down after all!" Meliodas said, ready to leap into action again before Gowther suddenly stepped in front.
"There's a simpler way. Sora, could you maybe stop their advance?" Gowther requested.
"Huh? Yeah, sure thing!" Sora said as he threw both his Yo-Yos out and they transformed into long cables of light that winded around every holy knight ahead and trapped them all in a large cage of light.
"Hey! What the hell is this?!" One holy knight exclaimed as a purple energy formed around Gowther's arms and took the form of bows.
"Sacred treasure, double bow Harlit." Gowther said before taking aim with his two bows. "Rewrite light!" He announced as volleys of purple energy shots flew from Gowther's twin bows and struck every knight trapped inside Sora's light cage, only no harm seemed to be done to the knights, much to everyone but Gowther's confusion.
(Music ends)
"Uh, Gowther, you know those arrows didn't do a thing, don't you, buddy?" Ban questioned while Sora decided to dismiss his cage of light and strike form transformation. "Hey! The hell are you doing, kid?!"
"Something's off." Sora said before the holy knights all suddenly dropped their weapons together and began running with their arms stretched out in welcoming manners.
(Music: Innocent times)
"Meliodas! There you are!" A holy knight greeted happily, without any of the hostility the knight had a few moments ago and speaking like he was friends with Meliodas for a lifetime, along with many other holy knights.
"Ban, I really missed you, man!" Another knight exclaimed as Meliodas and Ban were dumbfounded.
"Sora, Ryuko, Satsuki! You scamps! How have you been?" One knight shouted as Sora's half of the group was confused as well.
"What in the actual fresh hell?!" Ryuko said before everyone was suddenly grabbed into either friendly embraces or being lifted like idols in crowd surfs by the holy knights.
"My darling,Gowther!" Another knight said.
"Hey, uh, Gowther, what's going on here, man?" Meliodas questioned.
"It's actually a very simple trick. The holy knights view us as loved ones they haven't seen in a long time. Stopping them all in their tracks." Gowther explained.
"Explains why this guy is trying to make out with me!" Ryuko exclaimed as she held back a holy knight with large oversized lips trying to kiss her.
"C,mon! Just one little smooch for old times sake!" The knight said.
"So, you rewrote their memories, huh?" Meliodas guessed.
"Shh! It's nothing more than a stopgap. Once they notice the discrepancies in their memories, they'll return to normal. Moreover, their memory of being under this spell will be deleted." Gowther whispered.
"I'm getting a little deja vu with that explanation." Sora said, wondering why the concept of Gowther's ability was so familiar to him.
"Don't you ever use that on us! Got it?!" Meliodas, Ban, and Ryuko exclaimed together.
"Understood." Gowther responded while Satsuki decided to take advantage of the situation.
(Music ends)
"Let's us stop this now. We have somewhere to be." Satsuki said as she pulled out of a holy knight's hug to get all the other's attention. "Listen up, knights! We cannot stay! Can you open the gates so we may gain entry into the city?"
"You got it, girlfriend! We'll let you straight in!" One knight said as he turned in the direction of the nearby watchtower and made a signal with his hand and almost immediately, the main gates began opening up, clearing the way into Liones.
"This is it, no turning back now, is there?" Ryuko asked.
"The only way out is cutting off the head of the snake." Satsuki stated, referring to Hendrickson and Dreyfus.
"Or in this case, two heads. Which I'm more than happy to bust!" Ban stated as he smashed his fists together.
"Don't forget, our top priority is saving Elizabeth, we'll worry about the dragon handle later." Meliodas briefed.
"Meliodas, don't worry. We are gonna win this one, save Elizabeth, and stop Hendrickson from bringing back those demons!" Sora said as he, along with Meliodas both looked upwards towards Liones castle, which is no doubt their destination. "Time to make good on my promise to Elizabeth!"
(Liones: Southgate)
Once receiving the word of Camelot's king and his army arriving at the south end of Liones, Hendrickson, along with a pair of other holy knights he brought with him went to investigate, leaving Dreyfus to deal with Sora and the seven deadly sins. Now Hendrickson was standing in front of the south gates, waiting for them to be opened.
"Open the gates!" A watchtower guard exclaimed and the doors opened to reveal the sight of a massive army made of hundreds of soldiers bearing the crest of Camelot. But Hendrickson's focus was towards the front, where a man wearing a full set of gold armor mounted on the back of a horse was stationed and was clearly leading the army.
"I am one of the holy knight's grand masters of Liones, Sir Hendrickson. I know you are a king from a nation to our south, but showing up here without sending an emissary in advance is somewhat discourteous, is it not?" Hendrickson questioned, wondering why Camelot would make such a bold move.
"I am Arthur Pendragon, king of Camelot. Apologies for my rudeness." The legendary king himself greeted with an apology from beneath his helmet. "Years ago, the king of Liones showed me great kindness, and I've come to express my gratitude."
"With an army?"
"I've felt that I wouldn't be granted an audience unless I did so." Arthur answered.
"Really?" Hendrickson huffed in amusement before a nearby cloaked figure by Arthur's side snapped their fingers and suddenly, Arthur's entire army vanished, revealing them to only be an illusion, much to the shock of the holy knights at Hendrickson's side's surprise. "Hmm. A most impressive display to be sure. But sadly, I regret to inform you that the king of Liones has suddenly fallen ill and is currently bedridden. I must ask you to turn back."
"All the more reason that I cannot do so. My companion here has the ability to cure the king's illness." Arthur said as Hednrickson's eyes fell upon the cloaked figure, but the holy knight's more immediate interest was upon the third person on Arthur's side, who didn't vanish with the army.
"We truly appreciate your goodwill, but I insist you leave right now." Hendrickson requested as Arthur reached towards his helmet and removed it to reveal his face to be that of a surprisingly young man with messy orange hair and a large smile.
"I refuse!" Arthur answered.
"How dare you!" One knight exclaimed, offended while Hendrickson kept him back.
"Sorry, come again?" Hendrickson questioned.
"Lord Hendrickson, it's obvious that you're facing a problem that you would prefer to keep from outsiders. But we would gladly offer you aid in resolving this problem." Arthur explained as Hendrickson remained stoic.
"Again, I appreciate your offer to help. However, I am unsure of you bringing in a clearly very powerful mage, and your other unknown companion, who's yet to say a word." Hedrickson stated as his eyes fell upon the other figure at Arthur's side, who was a young man, slightly older then the young king.
"I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm only looking for something, or should I say someone I believe is in your city." The young man explained.
"So you say. But you don't appear to be your average knight. Even if you are from Camelot." Hendrickson stated since the young man's attire consisted of large baggy pants with a belt buckle bearing a strange symbol, armored boots and a single piece of armor covering his left arm.
"Actually, this man is not one of my knights. He's a wanderer I've met on my journey here. I've offered to bring him to Liones since I convinced him it was a good place to search for his objective." Arthur explained as Hendrickson raised an eyebrow in interest. "I would ask you to hear his story, but I doubt you have all day."
"No, I don't. But could I at least get this young man's name and his reason for being here." Hendrickson requested as the young man approached.
"My name is Terra, sir. I'm looking for a friend of mine."
