In nothing but his briefs, Stabler sauntered behind Olivia where she was making breakfast in the kitchen, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her against his bare chest. "I'm going to get in the shower," he mumbled as he placed soft kisses on her neck, his stubble brushing against her skin. She leaned into his chiseled chest, tilting her head to expose her neck more as her eyes rolled back, eyelids fluttering. Nothing beat his kisses. Well, except maybe the sex.

"Breakfast will be done in 10," she moaned, trying to keep her composure. Elliot smirked against her skin before pulling away, making his way to the bathroom. These past two months had reminded him how much he had missed the domesticity of being married. As much as he loved Liv and was so happy to be married to her, he would occasionally find himself thinking of Kathy, hoping she had found her person and was doing well. Even though the divorce had been rough, she was still the mother of his children, and he wanted the best for her.

Elliot lumbered into the bathroom and turned on the shower, returning to the sink to shave while the water heated up. It didn't take him long to rinse off; he merely wanted to wake up. As he stepped out of the tub and wrapped a towel around his waist, he noticed that the razor blades he had thrown away moments earlier had missed the trash bin. Elliot bent over to pick them up and dispose of them properly, but the contents of the bin caught his attention. He picked up a box that was covered in a haphazard attempt of concealment.

"Hey Liv!" Elliot hollered from the bathroom. "What is this?"

"What is what?" Olivia replied as she took the scrambled eggs she had been working on off of the burner, setting them to the side. She made her way through their bedroom to the bathroom where her husband stood in a towel, a pink box in hand and a concerned look on his face.

"Are you trying to hide something from me?" he asked worriedly, turning the face of the container around for her to read. Her eyes grew wide when she saw what he was holding. She made her way over to him and took his hands in hers.

"No El. I was just scared to tell you, especially after…" her voice trailed off. She walked over to her night stand a pulled a pregnancy test out of the top drawer. "I took it this morning before you got up." She handed him the stick, revealing the two pink lines. Liv's hands fidgeted as she nervously watched for a reaction.

"You're pregnant?!" he asked with joy in his voice, grinning from ear to ear as tears welled in the corner of his eyes.

"Yeah, El. I'm pregnant," Liv answered with a slight smile as she also became tearful. Elliot pulled Olivia into a tight hug. She melted into him, wrapping her arms around his neck as his embrace tightened around her waist.

"I love you so much," he uttered into her hair, his tears dripping down her back. Elliot pulled away from the hug and dropped to his knees. He grasped the hem of his wife's shirt, lifting it to expose her flat belly. His hands moving to her hips, Elliot planted soft kisses on her abdomen, making sure to pay extra attention to her scar. "I love you too little one," he mumbled against her skin. "I'm your daddy, and I am going to do everything in my power to keep you safe." Liv's heart sank as the man she adored worshiped her belly and the little human growing inside of her. This pregnancy was going to be different; she felt it in her bones. She ran her fingers through his short hair as the side of his head rested against her as he hugged her stomach, taking in the moment. She was going to be a mother again. And she was making him a father again. Their own little family.

"What are we going to do about work?" Liv asked as they drove towards the precinct.

"We have to tell Cragen," Elliot responded.

"But it's too early. I'm four weeks along at best. And the rest of the team will start to wonder why I'm on desk duty," she retorted.

"Well I can't have anything happening to my wife or child." Not taking his eyes off the road, Elliot reached over and placed a hand on Liv's belly.

"We take risks every day, Elliot. That's the inherent nature of this job. It's what we signed up to do."

"But our little one didn't sign up for it," he smirked sarcastically, his thumb stroking her stomach. Liv shot her husband a glare, causing him to chuckle as he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye, retracting his hand. "Remember, you signed up to be stuck with me the rest of our lives," he joked. God, he's so stubborn, Liv thought to herself. But I love him. She did appreciate his protectiveness over her and the life growing in her. "Let's at least talk to the captain," he bargained. "He deserves to know."

"Fine, but I am not going to settle lightly for desk duty."

"I wouldn't expect anything less."

Elliot held the side door to the captain's office open for his wife, trying to evade the stares from their colleagues.

"You have a moment, Captain?" Elliot asked as he shut the door behind them. He joined his wife in front of their CO's desk, taking her hand in his.

"Of course. What can I help you two with?" he asked as he rose from his seat. There was a slight pause. "You're pregnant, aren't you?"

"How-" Liv started, her mouth agape.

"I've been doing this since you were in diapers," Cragen chuckled. "But congratulations you two. And before you get defensive, I'm not going to put you on desk duty, yet. I know you would just disobey orders. But I want you to talk to your doctor and let me know what they recommend. Does that sound like a deal?"

"Thank you, Captain," Liv replied as she let out an audible sigh.

"Don't mention it. Now, is there anything else you two need?"

"I think that was it." Olivia looked up at her husband to see if there was anything else he wanted to add.

"Thank you, Captain," he reciprocated. The pair turned to leave but were stopped by a final message.

"I would tell you to take care of yourself and to pace yourself, but I know he has that covered," the CO nodded towards Elliot, smiling. "But Liv, if you don't want the others to know, I would suggest minimizing how much you guard your stomach." Olivia hadn't realized that her arms were wrapped around her mid-section. Was that how their CO knew? One could only speculate.
