Chapter summary: In which, there are two Mikey's and everyone is just a little bit confused.
Raphael was dreaming he was sure of it, but that didn't stop him from running.
He didn't know why he was running, but he was running and he was running for his life.
He ran and ran as fast as he could and he kept on running he only stop to catch his breath and then he jumped at the sight.
It was Mikey, but it wasn't the Mikey he knew.
He was older his body cover in scars his eyes looking tired and old. He looked like he was a man of war.
Raph took a step back and than to his horror Mikey head was choppped off he woke up screaming.
"Ni-san."
It was his Mikey. He wasn't old his body wasn't cover in scars and most importantly he still had his head.
"You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm alright Mikey. I didn't wake you up did I bro?"
"Nah, I wasn't really sleeping."
"You should get some sleep bro."
"Thanks, I'll try."
Mikey was about to leave his room, but Raph stopped him.
"Hey, Mikey."
"Yeah, bro?"
"When are you going to tell me what's wrong?"
He needed to know.
No, he had to know.
He has to know what had happened to his baby brother.
What happened? Because for Raph it had happened so fast. His baby brother was happy, smiling and laughing and then the next thing he knew his baby brother woke up screaming bloody murder. Screamed at him and at Master Splinter and even tried to make a run for it only to faint from shock.
Donnie been trying to work out for years what was wrong with their baby brother. He read through any book that he thought could help him understand Michelangelo's mind set. Understand what had happened, what had gone wrong.
And, Raph had hope growing up that Mikey would open up about his problems that his baby brother would explain to him what happened. So, Raph could understand, but Mikey never did and Raph is done with waiting because Raph is tired of those eyes.
Those baby blues used to be full of life and joy, Raph can still remember the way they shine, but than that light dim and for the life of him Raph does not know why.
"What are you talking about Ni-san? Nothing happened."
He was starting to get tick off now the last thing he wanted was his baby brother lying to his face.
"You didn't used to call me big brother all the time Mike. And, this act of yours is getting annoying."
"Act?"
"Yeah, this tired act of yours."
"I'm not acting and I didn't think I looked that tired."
"Mikey you look like you're almost ready to fall over at any moment."
"Oh."
"Just spill it out Mikey. Just tell me what happened to you?"
He needed to know.
He had to know.
He was prepared for any answer his brother was going to give him and than a flashback occurred. It was that older Mikey again getting his head chopped off. He blinked rapidly trying to bring himself back to reality.
It was just a dream. So, why was it effecting him so?
"I have to go Raphie."
He growl as he watched his brother run off, muttering underneath his breath Raph then flopped himself down onto his pillow.
The older Mikey came back to his mind.
It was just a dream he told himself as he forced himself back to sleep.
"Donnie. Donnie, wake up Dee."
Something was trying to get his attention.
Donnie grumbled underneath his breath and slowly woke up to see Mikey by his bedside.
"There's room Mikey," said Donnie half alssep as he rolled over to his side to let his baby brother in.
"No, not that. I need to talk to you Dee."
Donnie frowned as he got himself up and saw the worry in his brother eyes.
"What's the matter Mikey?"
"Should I tell them?"
"Tell who and tell what?"
"About who I really am."
"Is this about you're time travelling thing?"
Mikey nodded his head.
"Raph wanted to know. He thinks I'm acting."
Donnie was slightly ticked off about that. He didn't know what Raph problem was, but he's been having issues with Mikey ever since Spltiner made him leader.
"Ignore him Mikey. You don't need to tell him anything if you don't want to."
"That's the problem Donnie. I don't think I can keep this a secret anymore. It's starting to become too much. Every day I see you guys and every day I remember how you all die and left me. I can't. I can't keep something like this hushed anymore."
His baby brother was almost in tears and Donnie took him in for a hug.
"And, than there's the Shredder. I need to kill him soon Donnie. I need to kill him befofe he gets stronger before more people join his clan."
"Shh. It's alright Mikey. It's alright we figure something out."
"I want to be with them Donnie. I want to be with my true family."
That stun because as far as Donnie was concerned he was Mikey true family.
"It's alright little brother. It's alright."
Donnie held Mikey tighter the moment the youngest started to cry.
Master Spltiner was unable to sleep.
He sensed something dark lingering around him.
His nose twitched his eyes snapped opened and look around his room only to find nothing, but himself. He went back to sleep, but during that sleep he found himself looking at a much older version of his youngest son.
"Michelangelo?"
"He needs to die soon."
"Who needs to die?"
"Shredder. He needs to die soon."
There was a scream and a shout. Followed by the sound of swords clashing against one another and than his dream changed he was no longer looking at his son, but a destroy city.
"This is Shredder future," said the voice of his son. "He must die. He must die."
He heard his wife screaming in horror.
"Michelangelo," she called out and he woke up once again.
The following day Leo finds himself watching Space Heroes his little brother was standing close by and Leo kept giving him worried glances every now and again just to make sure he was still standing because Mikey looked like he was going to fall over soon. He also looked as if he was struggling to breath leaving Leo slightly concerned.
And, then he sensed it.
Something dark.
"It's here," mumbled Mikey. "How is it here? If I'm here? Wait, how are there two of me?"
Leo was getting himself ready to call Donnie, but then he saw it.
It was a flash and in a blink of an eye he was gone, but Leo saw it.
The older version of his brother appeared in the doorway.
Leo frowned.
Was it something spiritually? Was it a ghost like his mother pretending to be his brother?
The older Mikey flashed a smile and then he was gone in seconds.
"Not right. Not possible. This didn't happen before. What's going on?"
"Mikey, are you alright?" Leo asked.
"Show yourself," his brother order. "Show yourself now."
Leo got up now and he walk towards his brother. He knew Mikey hadn't lost his mind if anything it only confirm what Leo had just saw and felt, but at the same time his brother needs to calm down.
"What the shell is going on?" asked Raph.
"Don't you feel that?"
"Feel what?"
"That energy. It's dark."
"I said show yourself," Mikey demanded again looking horribly dizzy.
"Michelangelo what is going on?" asked Master Spltiner with Donnie right behind him.
"Sensei. I think we have a ghost problem," said Leo.
"Leo there's no such thing as ghost," said Donnie.
"You try telling that to our mother."
Donnie let out a nervous chuckle.
"But this isn't our mother sensei. He looked almost like Mikey."
"He isn't me," said Mikey quickly. "He's not me."
"Easy Mike. I'm not saying he is. I'm just saying he looks like you."
"Show yourself."
"I have been sensing it as will my sons. It has Michelangelo energy to him, but he feels a bit more darker then our youngest."
"Will I haven't seen him," said Raph.
Leo got a feeling he was lying.
"Raph."
"Alright, fine. I've been having trouble sleeping. I keep dreaming of an older Mikey getting his head chopped off."
Donnie looked horribly nervous and Leo didn't know why.
"Not possible. Not possible, not possible," Mikey chanted.
"My son. I think you need to sit down for a little while."
Master Spltiner was at Mikey side taking him to the nearby couch.
"He's not real sensei. He isn't real."
"My son you are not seeing things your brothers and I have been seeing him as will."
"I haven't seen him," said Donnie. "What does he look like?"
"Like Mikey only older," said Raph.
"Huh."
"So, is it a ghost?" asked Raph.
"I'm not too sure," said Leo.
"Not real. Not possible. It can't be." Mikey paused from his rambling and then looked around the lair furiously. "Show yourself."
And, on command the older Mikey appeared. Leo jumped back because ghost didn't normally just down right appeared to people at least his mother didn't.
"Why are you here?" demand Mikey.
"To remind you. To remind you of a future that cannot happened. You've taken one life already. So, take another and end it soon."
In a blink of an eye Mikey was gone along with the dark energy.
"Mikey, what does he mean by you've already taken a life?" asked Donnie.
Mikey looked ready to cry.
What the shell was that? Mikey thought to himself that afternoon.
I do not know my son, but he was you.
How was he me? I'm here and he's dead.
Exactly he would've been the ghost of the other Michelangelo.
But I am that Michelangelo.
And, yet you are also this one. Remember you were two different beings two different forms living in the same timeline, but now the timeline has changed because the older you have found himself in his younger body.
This is too much. Is he gone. Completely gone?
I do believe so my son.
Good, good, but I think I need to tell them mum. I think I need to tell them the truth. Because I can't keep this up. It hurts too much. All of this. It hurts too much.
Very, well my son. I wish you luck. His mother said.
