Chapter 1 - Annual Argo Get-Together

Nico's Point of view

It was our annual Argo get-together that occurred once a month. Normally it would be The Seven, plus myself and Reyna however, due to her praetor duties, Reyna was unable to attend this time.

I watch silently from where I was sitting propped up against the cabin wall. Percy, Jason, and Leo were currently flinging their arms around in extravagant gestures as they shouted over one another trying to tell the best parts of the story before the others did. This was all for the benefit of Frank and Hazel as they were at Camp Jupiter when the trio pranked the Hermes cabin. Even he had to admit it was quite a feat to accomplish as the Hermes cabin were the self-proclaimed prank masters of Camp Half-Blood led by the renowned Stoll brothers. So when the entire cabin had turned up for breakfast with their skin and hair in various neon colours it was quite amusing.

He shuddered as a particularly strong breeze blew through the cabin, glancing at the door proved it to be closed. He turned to look at Jason, Hera help him if he was using his air abilities to enhance the prank recount. However, the trio was no longer explaining their prank instead everybody was glancing around warily. The chilling breeze returned once more only this time it seemed to settle around us. The presence was strong and familiar, but I couldn't place it. At least we were at Camp Half-Blood, so it couldn't be monsters, right?

I saw Hazel and Frank suddenly slump against each other, she didn't so much as twitch when I called her name. My bones felt like a tone of bricks when I tried to reach over to shake her. Even unable to move much, my fingers twitched towards my stygian iron sword. I watched helplessly as the presence grew stronger and Piper, Annabeth, and Jason limply collapsed onto the floor. Blackness tinted the edge of my vision. I tried using my shadow abilities to withstand the presence, but I knew it was a losing battle. Just as my vision turned entirely dark, I caught Percy's eye.
