Well, after Kim Burgess and Hank Voight, here's a story about Kim and another guy of the team - Antonio Dawson.
And I got an idea from Ozian (check out her stories at AO3) "Write a story, maybe a case, where an ex suddenly shows up. A little drama, jealousy, some emotions." So it took me a little while, and then I got the idea for a story. Something involving Kim and Antonio.
Love at third sight
Prologue
A former colleague of Kim's from her days as a flight attendant was in Chicago for a few days, and the two women were hitting the clubs around town that night.
"Come on Kim, let's go check it out," Millie suddenly said to her, pulling Kim along with her to a salsa bar.
And while Millie immediately stormed the dance floor, however, Kim went to the bar to get something to drink first.
With the glass in her hand, she leaned back against the bar and looked around. Kim didn't know how, but in the midst of this crowded place, a man caught her eye. There he was, standing on the other side of the dance floor. Now, he was looking over at her. The man had seen her, too.
Kim wondered briefly if she should go over to him, after all, she was here with Millie. After all, she just wanted to have fun. You know, havin' a good time. Just be Kim. And not Officer Burgess.
However, he made the decision for her. Unbeknownst to her, while she was absorbed in her thoughts, he had walked over to her.
"Hello Kim."
"Antonio."
