At Takaishi Residence - 9:25 PM
After dealing with Spike, TK used a saline solution to clean Drusilla's wound. He then removed the cap from the First Honey Manuka Honey Ointment, squeezed a small amount onto his fingertip, and dabbed the ointment onto her cut. He then covered Drusilla's wound with a bandage. He finished Drusilla's wounds and put the materials away in the first aid kit.
"There, all done," said TK.
When he was a child, his father abused his mother, so he treated her wound. Her ex-boyfriend came for revenge and abused her because he knew she had a soul.
TK did a good job treating her wounds. Drusilla smiled at him, "Thank you."
"You're welcome. You can rest assured that I did what I could to heal you," said TK.
"I know, that's very sweet of you. I'm sorry that my injuries were serious," said Drusilla.
"No worries," he waved his hands up. "I'm glad I helped you out with your wounds."
"TK?" she asked.
"Yeah?" TK responded.
Drusilla looked into his eyes and gave a gentle smile.
TK blushed, but didn't look away, "What is it?"
She placed both her hands on top of his, "Thanks for being by my side," she said earnestly.
"No problem," he responded bashfully.
They just stared into each other's eyes for several seconds before they heard TK's cell phone ring.
TK sighed as he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and checked the caller ID. When he saw who it was, he sighed again and answered, "Hello, Mom."
"Hello, honey!" replied Nancy, "Did you get home okay? Did everything go well today? Is everything alright?"
TK rolled his eyes, "Yes, Mom. Everything is fine. I just spent time with Drusilla at my house. She's going to spend the night until I have school tomorrow. What about Dad?"
"Your father and I got off early tonight since we have some important guests arriving tomorrow. "
TK paused, "Oh really? What do they want?"
Nancy laughed, "Don't worry, darling. I don't think they'll be staying long, so I'll let them explain themselves in person. I will be home soon."
"Okay, be safe out there, Mom," said TK.
"I will. Bye."
TK hung up the phone, "Well, guess that means that she won't be here for dinner…"
As TK thought this, Drusilla spoke up, "It's okay, TK. Don't let your mom stress you out like that. Besides, you and your father seem pretty close already. There's nothing wrong with taking her advice sometimes. She did say to not be too hard on yourself either."
"Thanks, I appreciate that," he replied. "I guess I'll head back now."
As TK was about to leave the room, Drusilla had to say something.
"Wait, before you leave," said Drusilla, "Can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead," said TK.
"Um, can you tell me where the bathroom is?" asked Drusilla.
TK nodded and pointed down the hall, "Sure, to your left."
"Thank you," said Drusilla.
TK stood outside the door, watching Drusilla head down the hallway to the bathroom. She locked the door behind her and took out the silver case from her pocket. These were the blue liquid in the vials and the unused syringe. Drusilla set the syringe and vial on the counter. She washed her hands first and dried her hands. She then opened the cabinet and found the rubbing alcohol and cotton pads and took them.
She took off the vial cap and wiped the rubber top to clean with alcohol. Then, she poured the blue liquid into the syringe, filled it halfway, wiped her arm with an alcohol pad, and pushed the needle down into her arm.
The pain was sharp. Drusilla bit her lip to keep from crying. But she kept herself composed. Once the needle entered her arm, she exhaled slowly and waited for it to take effect.
Drusilla was starting to feel pain in her system, and it felt worse when the feeling became stronger and stronger. She closed her eyes tightly. The pain only intensified when her body went numb. She breathed heavily and focused on breathing through the pain.
After ten minutes of enduring the pain, she finally relaxed. She wobbly stood up, exhaled sharply, and swayed slightly from the weight of the syringe, but she maintained her balance until she cleaned up the bathroom counter and put the syringe and vial into the trash bin. She heard knocking on the door.
"Drusilla, is everything okay here?" asked TK.
"Uh, yeah, I'll be out in a minute," she responded.
"Alright," replied TK.
He walked away without asking if she wanted anything.
Once he was gone, she picked up the plastic bag, wrapped it up, and replaced it in the trash bin. She exited the bathroom and went into the kitchen to put it into the garbage can.
Drusilla went into the room, took off her clothes, and put on lilac slips. She crawled into bed and promptly fell asleep.
THE NEXT MORNING
TK got dressed for school, ate bacon and eggs for breakfast, and packed his notebook, textbook, and school supplies into his backpack. He put on his white bucket hat. He checked on Drusilla before leaving for school.
Drusilla was lying on the bed, covered with a duvet in her entire body. She was pretty tired. TK closed the curtains to make sure the sunlight didn't burn her. Drusilla cracked one eye open.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"I'm going to school today," he replied.
Drusilla closed her eyes again and muttered something, "Oh, okay."
"So, do you want anything? I'll get you something to eat when I get off at 3:00. You can watch TV if you feel like it after that." said TK.
"I'll keep that in mind. Would you mind going to the meat market and getting me pig blood?" asked Drusilla.
"Pig blood?" TK quirked his eyebrows.
"Well, yeah. I used to drink human blood when I became a vampire. And when I have a soul, I only drink animal blood so that I will never hurt humans." said Drusilla.
"Oh. Okay, I'll do that. Don't worry, I will get you some." TK smiled at Drusilla.
"Don't tell anyone about this. I don't really want people knowing I'm alive yet," said Drusilla.
"Not even mom or dad?" asked TK.
"Your parents won't know. Even though they are aware of my existence, they don't think about me much. So it would be better for me to just keep it hidden from them until everything is sorted out." explained Drusilla.
TK sighed heavily. "Alright. Well, if you ever need me for anything, just call me. Or text me." said TK.
"Thanks, TK," said Drusilla.
"Anytime. Well, I got to go. See you later, Drusilla." He left home for school.
Drusilla closed her eyes and then went back to sleep again.
TOKYO UNIVERSITY 10:30 AM
Mr. Yanagi lectured about algebra and the students took notes as he went over different formulas in the textbook, trying to get his students' attention. The rest of the room sat listening intently, not wanting to miss even a second of Mr. Yanagi's lesson.
He finished his lecture before beginning to write a few equations down on the board. He then began to discuss what they were doing next, when suddenly one of his classmates raised her hand in the air. He glanced at her for just a moment before motioning for her to speak up.
"Sir! I have a question!" She stated, causing a few people around her to chuckle. Mr. Yanagi was always fair towards those that got his attention, so most students knew to expect him to give them a response.
The teacher nodded to encourage her to continue."Yes? What is it?"
"How are we supposed to divide a zero into six by itself?" She asked, clearly nervous.
Mr. Yanagi paused in thought for a moment before answering," Well, first you multiply the number by 6 and divide 6 into 7, then divide 8 into 9... You follow the same pattern, only making two additions to each half." He explained, smiling encouragingly at his student."That sounds easy enough. You don't have anything else?"
The student shook her head vigorously. "No, sir..."
Her fellow students groaned at her failure but she ignored their protests. After several moments of awkward silence, Mr. Yanagi spoke again, "Alright, then let's move on to the next step, which will be to divide 5 into 6."
CAFETERIA - 12:10 PM
TK purchased a sandwich, chips, and soda for lunch when Kari came to say hello to TK.
"Hi, TK." she smiled.
"Hi, Kari," replied TK.
They sat down at their table and started a conversation about what they were going to do that day.
"So, how is Drusilla?" she asked.
"She's doing fine. She is just resting, is all. I treated her wounds last night so it didn't hurt anymore." He took a bite of his sandwich as he chewed slowly.
"That's good. TK, what are we going to do? The vampires are attacking the city every night. We have to stop Angelus before it gets any worse." said Kari.
TK nodded, "You're right. We can't let Angelus take over the city like this. But there is no way in hell I'm letting Angelus become Alpha."
"I know," agreed Kari. "We'll talk to Whistler and see if we can come up with something on our own."
TK nodded in agreement. They continued eating their food without speaking much else. It was after they ate did they decide to start planning their next course of action. After the classes were over, TK walked to his locker and put his backpack inside it before leaving the building to go home.
"Hey, TK," said Matt.
"Hey, Matt, how's it going?" TK greeted him.
Matt shrugged his shoulders, "It's fine. What about you?"
"I'm alright," replied TK. "I'm going to the meat market to get her pig blood for Drusilla."
"Pig blood? I thought she drank human blood," said Matt.
"Well, she used to, but she has a soul and she never hurt anyone. We'll have to see Whistler so we should ask him for help," said TK.
"What does this have to do with Drusilla? Why are you buying pig blood?" inquired Matt.
"Because she needs it and I want to give it to her. I know how bad Drusilla hurts people," explained TK.
"Yeah, I know how it feels, too. But you need to think about how many people will be dead if you don't stop Drusilla," said Matt.
"What do you mean?" TK asked.
"Well, we don't know how long the curse lasts, but when the spell breaks, then Drusilla will go crazy and kill everyone and sire them. The only way for us to stop Drusilla is to find a way to restore her soul first," explained Matt.
TK sighed, looking at Matt, "How am I supposed to save her soul now when the spell wears off?"
Matt put a hand on his brother's shoulder, "Maybe we can find a ritual or some spell that will allow us to recover her soul. You just have to find a way."
"You're right, Matt. When the curse breaks, we'll have to go to the magic shop," said TK.
The two brothers walked out of the university and headed to the meat market and ordered some pig blood. Just when the black car slowly stalked them, Darla waited for them to come out. Minutes later, the two brothers exited the meat market as TK carried two pints of pig blood.
Darla slowly rolled down the window and took a flash of a camera from them. The picture would be shown both TK carrying a pint full of fresh pig blood along with his older brother and Darla taking a couple of pictures of them. Darla smiled as she drove away.
At home, TK began to head to the kitchen to wash the blood from his hands. Before he cooked pig blood, he opened the cabinet to get a pot and a mug. He opened the lid and carefully poured the pig blood into the pot and placed it on the stovetop, turning it on. The aroma from the freshly made pork-filled his nose. The blood began to simmer, he had to make sure not to boil too much it would cause burnt and stuck in the pot. He grabbed a wooden spoon and began stirring while waiting for the blood to cool down enough to cook in. He then turned off the stove and removed the pot from the stove, and poured the fresh, hot blood into the mug. Once it was done, he walked to TK's room and knocked on the door.
"Drusilla? I got you some pig blood for dinner. I hope you're hungry," he called.
There was a moment of silence, then there was a soft sound of the lock turning.
"Come in, TK," she spoke softly. Her voice sounded scratchy.
He walked into the room and saw Drusilla sitting on the bed.
"Hey? You okay?" he asked.
"I felt like crap this morning. I'm fine now though. Thank you for the pig blood." Drusilla smiled.
"Don't mention it," replied TK as he handed her a cup of blood, "Want to eat together?"
She nodded and they went to the living room and watched TV. TK prepared himself for a snack while Drusilla was watching TV. He rinsed the blood from the pot, and put it in the dishwasher. He grabbed a bag of Doritos and grape juice. He went to the living room where Drusilla was still watching TV.
TK took a bite of the chip as he chewed slowly, eyes fixated on the television. A ninja girl with bright red hair was fighting against an evil-doer in a purple mask.
The purple ninja struck a punch at her, she dodged his blow by jumping to avoid it. It seemed like they were evenly matched as the woman attacked. The ninja ducked under his attacks and kicked out, striking her opponent across the shin. He stumbled back, and the red haired woman ran forward, delivering another hit to her opponent before he knocked out. The ninja girl won triumphantly.
"Wow, she's good," said Drusilla.
"Yeah, it is pretty awesome." He turned to her, "I bet you could do that too. You always win when you fight those vampires," he smiled playfully.
She punched him playfully and then laughed, "Yeah, maybe one day I can show you how to be good enough for that. You're too cute." Drusilla smiled at him.
TK blushed a little, he laughed sheepishly. He didn't usually think girls thought he was cute, but he would admit that Drusilla was different. She always made sure to treat everyone equally, even if there was someone more powerful or skilled than her. Sometimes TK wished that people treated him the same way too, but he liked being around Drusilla so he never asked.
"So, what are we going to watch?" he asked instead.
Drusilla shrugged, "Anything will be fine, I'm just glad you decided to come over today."
"Yeah, me, too," he replied. "You know, I have something I want to tell you," he paused, "It's kind of embarrassing."
"Well, don't worry about me judging you. Go ahead," she assured him.
"Well... you see, I kind of like you…" he fidgeted nervously.
Drusilla's jaw dropped, her eyes widened. "What? Why'd you say something so embarrassing!" Her face turned red.
"No no! Please don't get angry," he pleaded. "I promise it isn't bad! You see... I liked you. When I met you at the hospital... well, you were really pretty. And you looked nice..." he trailed off, not knowing where he was going with this.
"And you still like me?" Drusilla asked, surprised.
"Of course," TK replied. "I've never thought I met a beautiful woman like you in my entire life. And I mean, you're also smart, funny, caring, sweet and beautiful… I really like you. And um, I'm not scared of you that you are a vampire. That Angelus turned you and mistreated you. So you aren't some evil monster trying to kill me, right ?" TK tried to reassure her.
Drusilla nodded, "Of course I wouldn't hurt you," she told him. "But... if you really like me, why are you scared of me?" she asked hesitantly. "Is it because I am a vampire? Are you afraid of what I can do?"
TK frowned a little, "No," he shook his head. "In fact, I actually admire your strength, courage and intelligence. I like you, Drusilla, I hope you would consider me."
Drusilla stared at him for awhile, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. Her stomach churned as she stared at him in awe. She wasn't sure if she should accept his confession, after all this time of thinking he had forgotten her. But at the same time she wanted to give TK the chance of finding love. After the years without anyone wanting to know her, the thought of dating someone new sounded exciting. Besides, it wasn't like she couldn't find someone else; she was only human.
"I… I don't know what to say ," she admitted.
TK hesitated for a second, but eventually spoke again. "Dru…"
He reached up and placed his hand on her cheek, looking deeply into her aquamarine blue eyes.
He kissed her passionately making them both forget everything for a few moments. He deepened the kiss, taking his time. Their lips parted briefly, then they started kissing again.
TK moaned softly in her mouth. This time he moved his hands to her hips, pulling her closer to him. His tongue danced lightly across her lips, begging entrance.
Drusilla gladly opened her mouth and allowed their tongues to battle for dominance. She pushed against him, eager to deepen the kiss, but TK's eyes shot open.
"Dru... stop," he managed to force out between heavy breaths. "We shouldn't do this…" he tried to explain. "Not here."
"Why not?" asked Drusilla breathlessly, trying to kiss him again.
His lips twitched. "Because..." he whispered hoarsely. "I'm a human, and you're a vampire. We can't do this." He stroked her hair gently, trying to reassure her, but deep down he knew it was a lie.
"I'll help you find a way when you become human," he reassured her.
She blinked. "Me? Become human?"
"Yes, you don't need to be immortal anymore, I'm sure there must be somewhere in this town, some kind of magic potion or spell that turns you into a human. There has to be," said TK.
"TK, you don't suggest to me that I turn into a human, do you?" she asked worriedly.
TK hesitated. He hated seeing Drusilla so upset, but he couldn't help but feel guilty. If anything happened to Drusilla he would never forgive himself.
"You want to become human, don't you? What happens when you change?" he tried to reason. "Would you go back to that old life? Be the vampire everyone fears, hate? Would you leave me behind?" asked TK.
"No…" she said softly.
"Then we can try. That's why I want to help you. You can trust me, we can work together." said TK.
"TK…" she sighed.
He cupped her face in his hands and gave her a soft kiss, and hugged her.
"I love you, Dru. I promise I will make you become human for you. No matter what it takes." he whispered.
Drusilla let out a shaky breath, tears began to form in her eyes and her heart broke at his words. She hugged him back.
"TK… thank you." she whispered.
Meanwhile at the factory
Darla entered the factory, closing the door behind her as she went deeper into the building. The lights in the warehouse were dim and the minions saw Darla here.
"Oh, so now you're back," Luke asked. "Have you got these photos?"
"Sure did," said Darla. She pulled out these photos from inside the envelope and handed it over to Luke. "I spied on those kids in every location we found out where they've gone. I even followed them home from school, " she added smugly.
"These kids are really clever," Luke chuckled, "Well done, you finally caught them. Angelus will be delighted when he sees them,"
"Hello, Darla. So have you brought these photos?" asked Angelus.
Darla nodded, showing him the pictures. "Yep. Got em all," she smiled. "Got any ideas what we're gonna do with em?" she asked him.
Angelus frowned a bit, "That depends," he answered slowly. "How long do you think they will last?"
Darla grinned. "They might be fun to play with once we get 'em to cooperate, but they'd probably be easy to destroy,"
"Good answer. They'll die very quickly after we torture them first, and then we'll kill them," said Angelus.
"So whom do we kill?" asked Luke.
Angelus held up a picture of two Kari and Yolei in a photo walking down the street, "You will target these girls ," he explained. "You will start with a girl with glasses."
"Nah, she's nothing special. I like this other girl who looks pretty." said Luke.
"Hmm… well…" Angelus trailed off, pretending to look interested. "You can feast on her if you want." He gave a photo to Luke, who examined it closely. "This is one of the more interesting ones."
Luke smirked, "Wow. Look at her boobs. They look nice. Maybe she'll fit you."
Angelus scowled at Luke. "Just do it, already."
Angelus flipped the photos over, revealing something underneath them, the two boys at the cafe. The young man with glasses and blue shoulder-length, and the other boy with short red-haired typing his laptop.
"Hmm, they're just nerds. Are they doing their research?" Luke asked curiously.
"No, but they have access to quite a lot of information on vampires," replied Angelus. "The boy is going to figure out our weaknesses,"
Luke scoffed, "He thinks he's so smart, huh? I bet he doesn't even know how he was turned into a vampire."
"You are such an asshole." Angelus rolled his eyes and crossed his arms angrily. "You can choke him to death if you want to."
Luke's smirk widened. "Really? Well, why didn't you tell me before!" He exclaimed mockingly.
"Don't make me repeat myself, asshole. Now shut up and listen, or I won't show you the next photo," Angelus growled, giving him a threatening glare.
"Fine, fine. Whatever you say boss," he grumbled.
He flipped the next photo over, which showed two teenage girls, the one with strawberry blonde, short hair and the one with the pink haired girl with stars shopping at the mall.
"There's the girl with pink hair," said Luke pointing to the girl in the photo. "I think I could eat her up in a single bite."
"And this other girl is so tender, I'd like to taste her blood." Angelus grinned in satisfaction.
"She likes flowers, which means…" he paused.
"Which means that she is an extremely emotional person." Luke finished with a smirk on his face.
"Correct." Angelus acknowledged. "I have been wondering, what makes her so weak? When she is human, she is a beautiful creature. But when she is transformed, she is…"
He stopped talking suddenly. A smile formed on his lips, and an evil gleam appeared in his eyes.
"A perfect target for our plan."
"What's the next one?" asked Darla.
Angelus flipped the next photo over. It showed a young boy with big, bushy brown hair playing at the soccer field with three other children.
Luke chuckled, "Look at his hair. It's so wide and bushy. He looks stupid."
"It suits him. It'll give you away," said Angelus
.
Darla nodded. "He does look stupid," she agreed.
Angelus flipped the picture over again. There were two boys at the diner, Davis was eating a burger and Ken was eating a soup.
"You spied on them while they're eating their food," Angelus said. "How long would it take for them to notice someone watching them?"
"Not long at all, actually. They wouldn't even notice me standing behind them," answered Darla confidently.
"Very good." he smiled.
He flipped the photo next, showing the boy with a brown bowl cut hairstyle, walking home from school alone, however, he felt like he was being watched.
"I tried to proceed with caution, but he sensed it. I think he was being paranoid when I took a picture, then he walked away,"
said Darla, smiling evilly.
Angelus looked at her. "I'm glad that you were able to catch him off guard."
And now Angelus flipped the last photo, there were two brothers walking down the street, a boy with a bucket hat carrying two pints of pig blood, and the older brother had blond shoulder-length walking beside his brother.
"I think I'll start with the boy with the bucket hat first," said Angelus grinning.
"Yeah? And I like the older boy. He's hot." Darla admitted, giggling softly.
Angelus smirked, "He looks angelic. I think I want to sire him and join our forces together and we will capture Drusilla, then we'll find the others and finish the job. We'll rule Earth together and make all creatures bow down before us."
"Sounds good to me." Said Darla excitedly. "I want to sire this boy, as well. He's handsome. I wanna see if I can turn him too. I love bad boy," she said seductively. "That will definitely work for me as well."
"I wonder if the brothers join us and become one of us? They must have some strong abilities. These boys are perfect. "Angulus smirked evilly as he placed the photograph on top of the table.
"Alright, guys," he said. "Let the fun begin."
