Ch 6 A Not so Friendly Chat
"Dad I don't think you and Mom are being fair to Kopa," Nuka said. "I mean he can't really help how twisted his mother and brother were."
"Yeah," Vitani chimed in. "Besides if he were turning into Nala then he wouldn't have even bothered to go to Rafiki to get help."
"Vitani we didn't say Kopa was turning into Nala," Zira pointed out.
"Sure sounded like you did," Nuka muttered. Simba gave his son a look and Nuka quickly said, "I'm just saying the truth Dad. You and Mom seam to have it in your heads that Kopa is evil like Nala.
"Nuka we're just concerned that if Kopa doesn't receive some kind of help then he may go down the same dark path his mother did," Simba said, a hint of sadness creeping into his voice. "Nala was my best friend when we were cubs. She was sweet, thoughtful, kind and loving. But Scar got a hold of her and no one helped her and that's why she ended up the was she did. Same with Kion. I just don't want the same thing to happen to Kopa."
"We don't want that either Daddy," Vitani said. "He's our friend."
"Yeah," Nuka chimed in. "Not to mention he's Kiara's brother. Which means that once me and Kiara get married next month he'll be family. And family always has each other's back. Period."
"Well said Nuka," Simba said, smiling at his son. "What you both said is so very true."
"Yes we couldn't have said it better ourselves," Zira chimed in. "We're so very proud of the sweet, kind loving young lion and lioness you've both become."
"Well we did learn from the best," Nuka said, smiling at his parent. Simba smiled back at his son. Then the golden King looked up and saw the sun was beginning to set. "We'd better start heading back," Simba said. "I don't like to be out after dark to much." With that the King and his family headed back to Pride Rock.

Meanwhile Kopa had reached the Outland border and was about to cross over when suddenly his senses came to him again. "What am I doing?" the creamy coated lion said, shaking his head. "I was about to do something really stupid. Tama and Sharka nearly killed me the last time I encountered them." With that Kopa turned and began to walk back to Pride Rock. But before he could get very far the ally stepped out of the bushes in front of Kopa. "Jeeze!" Kopa cried out, jumping back. "You scared the shit out of me! I could have ripped your damn face off!"
"Sorry about that," the ally said with a slight laugh. "But I wanted to catch up with you Kopa. You must not have heard me call your name."
"No I didn't," Kopa said, shaking his head. Then he let out a slight growl "And even if I did I would have ignored you. What do you want anyway?"
"That's a fine way to talk to an old friend," the ally said with annoyance as the rolled their eyes.
"Friend?" Kopa said with a laugh. "That's a good one. The last time we saw each other you said the next time you saw me you'd kill me. As a matter of fact you gave me this scar at the same time." Kopa indicated the scar on his right cheek as he said this part "I hardly think that makes us friends."
"Look Kopa I'm sorry about that," the ally said. "But I was young and hotheaded. I've calmed down quite a bit since then and I realized that I was wrong. You and Kiara had to do what you did. Nala was a crazy bitch and I'm glad she's gone. I'm just sorry its taken me all these months to realize that." The ally lowered their head, hoping Kopa would buy their act.
"So what you want forgiveness then?" Kopa asked.
"I don't expect forgiveness Kopa," the ally said, keeping their head lowered. "But I couldn't just leave things the way they were all those months ago. I mean when we were kids we were best friends. I just wanted you to know how sorry I am that's all." With that the ally began to walk away.
"Wait!" Kopa cried out, running over to the ally, who let a small smile go across their muzzle as they knew Kopa had bought their act. "Don't go," Kopa said, getting in front of the ally. "I'm sorry I was such a pain in the ass," Kopa said.
"Its understandable," the ally said with a small smile. "After all I haven't been very nice to you as you said. I caused you physical harm and that's unforgivable."
"Yeah well still my behavior was harsh," Kopa said. "I've been having a real shitty day and I'm not really in a good mood."
"Do you want to talk about it?" the ally asked, pretending to be concerned.
"No," Kopa said, shaking his head. "We just met back up after months of not speaking. I don't want to dump all my shit on you."
"Kopa believe it or not I still consider us to be friends," the ally said. "And friends tell each other their problems yes?" Kopa nodded and the ally said, "Well then?"
"Alright here goes," Kopa said, letting out a sigh Then the creamy brown lion proceeded to tell the ally what had been happening to him lately. When he was finished he looked at the ally, who was giving him a strange look. "You think I'm crazy don't you?" Kopa asked softly.
"No Kopa I don't think that at all," the ally said, causing Kopa to blink in surprise. "You're just as sane as I am. However I must ask something."
"What?" Kopa asked, letting out a tired sigh. The creamy brown lion was growing tired of everyone questioning him. But he knew the ally didn't know any of that so Kopa was willing to let them speak.
"Did it ever occur to you that you may be seeing Kion for a reason?" the ally asked.
"And what reason would that be?" Kopa asked.
"To test you," the ally said simply. Kopa gave the ally a confused look so the ally continued, "You know test your loyalties and all that."
"My loyalties?" Kopa repeated, giving the ally a look. "You mean my loyalties to Simba and his Pride right?"
"Well," the ally said. "I mean yeah. Who else could it be?" The ally let out a slight laugh when they said this part.
"Alright what's all this about?" Kopa demanded, causing the ally to blink in surprise.
"I don't underst..." the ally began. But Kopa interrupted with an angry growl.
"Are you working with Tama and Sharka?" the young lion demanded, getting in the ally's face.
"Kopa why are you being so hostile?" the ally asked, backing up a step. "And why are you bringing up Tama and Sharka?"
"Oh don't act all innocent," Kopa hissed, glaring at the ally. "Its such a coincidence that you show up the exact same time as they did."
"Kopa I honestly have no idea what you're talking about," the ally said, pretending to be confused.
"Liar!" Kopa roared. "You're a damn liar Dogo! And I'm going to rip you apart for this!" With that Kopa lunged for Dogo, fully prepared to rip him to shreds. But before he could a blur came flying out from the bushes and tackled him to the ground, successfully pinning him to the ground.
"Touch him and you die!" the blur hissed, their faces inches form Kopa's. "Or so help me I'll rip your damn face off. Hell now that I think about it that sounds like a great idea!" With that the blur raised their paw, fully prepared to slash Kopa's throat.
