Ch 8 Guilty Feelings

Kopa raised his paw to slash Nuka's throat when suddenly Jasiri came running in with Chafu, Kovu and Safara right behind her. "Kopa!" Jasiri cried out, running over to help Kiara pull the still enraged Kopa off of Nuka. "What the Hell has gotten into you?!" Jasiri demanded as she and Kiara pushed Kopa away from Nuka.

"Yeah I second that question," Nuka panted, rubbing his neck, which had small marks on in from Kopa's claws.

"He's been plotting against me Jasiri!" Kopa cried out, pointing an accusing paw at Nuka. "Him and his entire family have been plotting against me! Plotting to send me away! They think I'm just like my mother!"

"News Flash here Kopa!," Nuka growled, glaring at Kopa. "You're acting just like Nala right now ya know!"

"He's right Kopa," Kiara said. "Mother acted just like this. Attacking others out of anger, thinking others are out to get her. Get the picture?" Kopa looked at his sister and Nuka with wide blue eyes as he realized what they were saying was true.

"And you didn't even get the whole story Nuka," Vitani chimed in. "Yes it is true that we were talking about you and how concerned we were about your recent behavior. But you must have left before you heard Daddy and Mom say how much they care about you and how they don't want you to go down the same dark path as Nala did and how badly they want to help you."

"Really?" Kopa asked, his voice coming out very soft. Vitani nodded and began to say something. But Chafu interrupted the Princess.

"Geeze wait to jump to conclusions there Kopa," Chafu muttered. Kopa glared at his grey coated friend, who shrugged. "Well its true," he continued. "You did jump to conclusions without talking to Simba or Zira. That's pretty dumb if you ask me."

"Well no one asked you Chafu," Kopa snapped, glaring at his friend and unintentionally extended his claws in anger.

"Chafu please don't aggravate him even more than he already is," Vitani hissed in her boyfriend's ear.

"I'm not aggravating him Vitani," Chafu declared. "He was already on edge."

"And you're making him even more on edge," Jasiri snapped, glaring at Chafu.

"Yeah dude back off!" Kovu snarled as he too glared at Chafu. "He was actually calming down and you made him get all pissed off again!"

"Hey man don't bite my head off!" Chafu snarled, glaring right back at Kovu. "I was just pointing out the obvious. Its not my fault that Kopa can't take simple criticism so all of you can back the Hell off!"

"Alright everyone needs to calm the Hell down!" Safara cried out. "This is getting way out of hand!" By now the tan coated lioness had gotten between her furious friends along with Jasiri.

"This is done!" Jasiri shouted. "I mean it! This whole thing is stupid! You guys have been friends since cubhood! Now knock it off!

"You're right," Chafu shouted back. "This is stupid! And since everyone seams to be against me then I'm out of here!" With that the grey coated lion stormed away from the group.

"Chafu wait!" Vitani cried out, running after her boyfriend.

"I feel bad," Kopa said after a minute. "I should apologize to Chafu."

"Why?" Kiara asked, giving her younger brother a look "You didn't do anything wrong."

"Yeah," Nuka chimed in. "I think my sister, Jasiri and Kovu made the situation worse."

"Hey man I was defending my brother!' Kovu cried out, glaring at Nuka. "And Jasiri was defending her boyfriend!"

"Well in case you didn't notice Kopa isn't a cub," Nuka pointed out. "He can take care of himself."

"Enough!" Kopa shouted, causing everyone to look at him. "Nuka's right: I'm not a child. So I'd appreciate it if you all stopped treating me like one."

"Kopa I was just trying to help," Kovu said, feeling bad that he had upset his younger brother. "I didn't mean to make you mad."

"Well that seams to be happening a lot lately," Kopa said with a grunt. "Look I appreciate you guys' concern. I really do. But all this interfering and 'helping' is making things worse. So please just back the Hell off!" Without waiting for a response Kopa walked away from his family and friends.

"Kopa wait!" Kovu said as he began to go after his brother. But he was stopped by Safara putting a paw on his shoulder.

"Just leave him be for now honey," the tan coated lioness said, giving her boyfriend a nuzzle. "He'll be alright in a bit."

"I should go after him," Jasiri declared. But she was stopped by Nuka.

"Siri just let him cool off for a little bit," Nuka said. "Because clearly he's on the edge right now." Nuka indicated his scratched neck when he said this part. Jasiri let out a sigh and nodded in agreement. The rest of the group nodded and went about the rest of their day.

TLKTLKTLK

Meanwhile Kopa had been walking. He was nearing the watering hole when he saw Chafu there, with an angry look on his face Kopa debated on rather or not he should face Chafu. But that decision was quickly taken out of his hands when Chafu looked over at him Kopa took a deep breath and walked closer to his friend. "Hey Cha'," the creamy brown lion said.

"Hey," Chafu said softly as Kopa sat down next to him.

"Where's Vitani?" Kopa asked, looking around for the tan coated Princess.

"She left," Chafu said. "We talked for a bit and I told her I needed some time alone and she agreed. Plus its nearing time for the hunt so that helped. I just needed some time to think."

"Yeah," Kopa said with a sigh. "You and me both." Then the two lions sat in silence for a few seconds. Then they decided to end the silence at the same time.

"I'm sorry for..." both lions said at the same time. "You go first," they said together. "No you." Then the two lions laughed.

"Cha' I'm really sorry for snapping at you," Kopa said. "That was completely uncalled for and you didn't deserve that."

"I'm sorry too," Chafu said. "I shouldn't have pushed you like that when I already knew you were upset."

"It cool man," Kopa said with a smile. "So are we good?"

"Yeah," Chafu said with a smile of his own. "We're good." With that the two lions bumped paws. The two lions spent a great deal of time laughing and chatting as they walked through the Pride Lands, neither one of them realizing how close they were getting to the Outlands. But the two lions were having to good of a time to even noticed as they playfully pushed each other and played wrestled. But their good time was quickly short lived when they heard a low growl come from behind them. Turning their heads they saw Tama standing there along with Sharka and two other lionesses.

"Shit this day just gets worse and worse," Kopa muttered as he and Chafu got into fighting positions. Tama and her friends circled around Kopa and Chafu and it wasn't long before they were completely surrounded. To Kopa's surprise they also saw several hyenas and some jackals there as well.

"Great," Chafu muttered. "What do we do now Kop'?"

"We fight them," Kopa declared. "We aren't giving up without a fight. We fight 'til the death!" Chafu nodded in agreement and once again the two lions go into a fighting stance, fully prepared to fight to the death. But the their shock someone called out, "Stop right there! I won't let you hurt them!" Kopa and Chafu turned and they were shocked at who they saw standing there.
