Ch 14 Confrontation
"Moto honey I'm sure you're mistaken," Fauti began.
"No Mom I'm not mistaken," Moto said. "Kopa is on the dark side now. Its really sad when you think about it."
"I just can't believe that Kopa would do something like this," Fauti said, shaking her head.
"Well believe it Mom," Chana said, her voice coming out as a growl.
"We need to tell Simba and Zira about this," Kuato chimed in.
"Yes I agree," Fauti said with a nod. "But I really don't feel right about leaving the young ones unattended."
"Mom we're not pups anymore," Moto said, rolling his eyes slightly. "We don't need a babysitter."
"Moto you and your siblings are injured," Fauti said. "Not to mention Kijana is not awake yet."
"I'm fine Dad," Moto said. "In fact I want to go with you." Without waiting for a response Moto began to stand. But a stabbing pain in his side quickly made him realize that was a bad idea.
"You see what I mean son?" Kuato said with a slight smile.
"Yeah," Moto said with a sigh. "I guess you have a point."
"I'll go to Simba and tell him what happened," Kuato said to Fauti. "You stay here with the kids." Fauti nodded and Kuato gave his mate a nuzzle and headed out towards Pride Rock.

Meanwhile Dogo and Kopa had reached the Outland border. When they reached the border Kopa stopped dead in his tracks. "What's wrong Kop'?" Dogo asked, looking over at the creamy coated lion.
"Are we going to meet with Tama and Sharka?" Kopa asked, deciding to get right to the point.
"So what if we are?" Dogo asked. "I mean does it really matter right now Kopa? I mean I hardly thing that you can go back to Pride Rock after attacking Kijana like you did."
"Yeah," Kopa said with a sigh. "I guess you have a point. But still..." But before he could continue he heard a familiar voice call his name. Looking over Kopa saw Kovu running towards him. "Kovu!" Kopa cried out, his blue eyes wide with surprise at seeing his half brother there. "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you," Kovu said after catching his breath. "Jasiri was really worried when she woke up this morning and you were gone. Nuka and Chafu had to train with Simba today and the girls are on the hunt so I decided to look for you myself and make sure you're alright."
"Yeah well as you can see I'm fine," Kopa said, trying not to sound irritated. "You can go now."
"Go?" Kovu said, the confusion clear in his voice. "Kopa I'm not gonna just..." Kovu stopped midsentence when he saw Dogo standing there. "Kopa what's going on?" Kovu asked, looking from Dogo to Kopa. "Why are you with him? And why are you so near the Outland border?"
"None of your business that's what," Kopa snapped, causing Kovu to blink in surprise. "Now get the Hell out of my way!" With that Kopa began to push past Kovu. But the golden brown lion wasn't about to let things go that easily.
"Hold on there Kopa," Kovu said, stepping in front of his creamy brown brother. "I'm confused here."
"I think things are pretty clear here Kovu," Kopa said curtly.
"Like Hell they are," Kovu snapped back. "Like for starters why the Hell are you being so hostile towards me? And since when do you associate with Dogo?"
"Me and Kopa are pals now," Dogo said, getting between Kopa and Kovu. "And I believe he made himself clear when he told you to piss off!"
"I wasn't talking to you Dogo!" Kovu growled, glaring at the young jackal. "So stay the Hell out of this! This is between me and my brother!"
"There he goes again," Kion's voice said suddenly. "Kovu always thinks he knows better than you. Now's your chance to show him whose really in charge around here!"
"I don't know," Kopa whispered. "He's my brother. I can't just..."
"Sure you can," Kion said. "Look I was right before wasn't I? And I'm right now. You know I am Kopa." Just then Kopa became really dizzy and the nausea came back and he had to shut his eyes tight in order not to throw up or pass out. "Things would go so much easier for you if you quit being so damn stubborn and do what I tell you to do the first time," Kion growled.
"Kopa what's happening?" came Kovu's concerned voice. "Are you alright?"
"I..." Kopa groaned as the dizziness and nausea intensified. "I'm not...I don't..."
"Do it Kopa!" Kion hissed. "Attack Kovu! Kill him!"
"No," Kopa whispered, lowering his head as he willed the dizziness to stop. "I can't."
"Kopa what's wrong?!" Kovu cried out. Kopa opened his eyes and looked at Kovu with fear filled blue eyes.
"Kovu help me," Kopa whispered. "He won't leave me alone. He won't..." Just then Kopa let out a loud cry and he crumpled to the ground unconscious.

Meanwhile Kuato had reached Pride Rock. When he reached the bottom he saw Simba, Chafu and Nuka returning from their training. "Ah Simba I'm glad I found you," Kuato said as the three lions neared him.
"Kuato," Simba said with a smile. "To what do I owe this pleasant surprise?"
"I'm afraid its anything but pleasant," Kuato said. "Is Zira around? I'd like to explain things to both of you."
"Explain what?" a voice said. The males turned and saw Zira and the rest of the lionesses returning from the hunt.
"Zira hello," Kuato said. "I'm afraid I have some bad news for you and Simba. And I'm afraid its bad news for you Kiara as well Jasiri. Its about Kopa."
"What about Kopa?" Jasiri asked, going to the front of the group with Cala, Asha and Kiara right behind her. "Is he alright? What happened?"
"He's not injured," Kuato informed the rusty brown lioness. "At least I don't think he is."
"Kuato what's going on?" Simba asked. Then he noticed Kuato darting his eyes towards the other lionesses. "Uh lets go up to the cave," the golden King suggested. Then we can talk privately." With that the group headed up the side of Pride Rock.

A few minutes later Simba and Zira were in the cave with Kuato. Asha, Jasiri and Kiara were also there as the three lionesses were anxious to hear about Kopa. "Alright Kuato what's going on?" Simba asked, facing the male jackal. "Is Kopa alright?"
"I'm afraid I don't know exactly," Kuato admitted. "Let me start from the beginning. My children were attacked earlier today. Kijana was badly injured and he's still unconscious right now. Chana and Moto were also injured but luckily their injuries weren't very serious."
"I'm so sorry to hear that Kuato," Zira said, shaking her head sadly.
"Yeah me too," Kiara chimed in. "But what does that have to do with Kopa? Was he with them when they were attacked or something?"
"I bet he's out searching for their attackers," Asha chimed in.
"We already know who the attacker were Asha," Kuato informed the gold coated lioness. "And you're not going to like it."
"Just come out with it already," Kiara snapped, the impatience clear in her voice.
"When Moto came around he told Fauti and I who attacked him and his siblings," Kuato said. "And he said that it was Kopa who attacked them and that he was working with Reirei and Goigoi's son, Dogo when he did it." Kuato stopped and looked at the stunned faces of the group. After a few minutes Simba opened his mouth to speak.
