Ch 18 Another Confrontation

Meanwhile back in the Outlands Kopa was finalizing his plan with Tama and Sharka. "I want to enact our plan as soon as possible," the creamy brown lion was saying.

"I agree," Tama said with a nod. "The sooner we can be rid of Simba and his family the better."

"Yeah yeah yeah," Sharka said impatiently. "So when do you want to attack?" Kopa opened his mouth to speak. But before he could get a word out another lioness from their Pride came running towards them.

"Forgive me Tama but I have something important to tell you," the dark tan lioness panted.

"It had better be important Adui!" Tama hissed, glaring at the dark tan lioness.

"Your daughter is heading this way," Adui informed Tama, who blinked in surprise.

"Safara's on her way here?" Tama whispered. "But why would she..."

"Oh she's probably pissed off at me," Kopa said, rolling his blue eyes. "After all I did attack her future mate. She's probably on her way here to confront me or some shit like that. Like I'm so scared of her."

"Its not just her that's on their way here," Adui informed the group.

"Let me guess," Sharka piped up. "My son is on his way here as well. Am I right?"

"Well yes," Adui said. "Chafu is on his way here as well as Kopa's sister and Kopa's future mate, and King Simba's children."

"Wonderful," Kopa said as he stood. "Well I may as well meet them at the border."

"Want us to come with you?" Tama asked. "You may need back up."

"I can handle them," Kopa insisted. "So no I won't be needing your help." Without another word Kopa walked towards the Outland/Pride Land border. As he was walking Kopa began to feel guilty. "What the Hell am I doing?" he muttered. "I shouldn't be helping Tama and Sharka. I should be back at Pride Rock begging for forgiveness from Kovu and asking King Simba for mercy."

"They'll show you no mercy," Kion's voice echoed in Kopa's head.

"Shut the Hell up Kion," Kopa growled. "I won't listen to you anymore!"

"Heh like you have a choice," Kion said with an evil laugh. "Give it up Kopa. I'm stronger and more powerful than you. You'll never win against me!'

"No!" Kopa roared, closing his eyes tight. "You're wrong damn you! I can beat you! I will beat you!" By now Kopa had reached the Pride Land border and Safara, Jasiri, Chafu, Nuka, Vitani and Kiara had arrived.

"What the Hell?" Nuka muttered, his ruby eyes wide as he watched Kopa try to fight off Kion.

"Oh Kings Above Kovu was right," Vitani whispered, her amber eyes wide. "Kopa is possessed by Kion's spirit."

"Elephant shit," Safara growled as she took a step forward. But she stopped when she heard Kopa let out a roar of fury.

"Get out of my head Kion!" the creamy brown lion shouted. "Go back to Hell with Mother and Father!"

"You can't win Kopa!" Kion repeated. "I've already won! Just give in to me!" With that Kion let out a cruel laugh and Kopa let out a loud cry.

"No!" Kopa cried out as he crumpled to the ground.

"Kopa!" Jasiri and Kiara cried out as they ran to their loved one, who was passed out cold.

"Oh Kopa are you alright?" Jasiri cried out as she nuzzled her love. But suddenly Kopa's eyes shot opened and he shoved Jasiri away from him. The rusty brown lioness let out a cry of surprise as she stumbled and nearly fell.

"Get away from me you bitch!" Kopa snarled, his voice deep and dark.

"Kopa its me," Jasiri said, taking a cautious step towards Kopa. "Its Jasiri. I'm here to help you."

'We're all here to help you little brother," Kiara chimed in. "We're gonna help you be free of Kion and send him back to Hell once and for all!"

"Yeah!" Chafu chimed in as he, Vitani and Nuka ran up beside Jasiri and Kiara. "You hear that Kion?! Don't get to comfortable in there because you're going back to Hell!" Safara was watching this with wide blue eyes as she was to stunned to say or do anything.

"I don't need your damn help," Kopa spat out. "I'm doing what I should have done long ago. Kion has nothing to do with this. I'm doing all of this because I want to! And it looks like I'm gonna have to teach you fools a lesson. Just like I did with Kovu and those idiot jackal siblings!" With that Kopa let out another growl and advanced on his family and friends, fully prepared to attack them.

TLKTLKTLK

Meanwhile back at Pride Rock Kovu was getting anxious. The golden brown lion hated not being able to do anything to help his little brother. "Man I hate this Mom," Kovu said to Asha, who was sitting next to him. "I hate feeling so damn helpless."

"I know you do sweetheart," Asha said, giving her son a nuzzle. "And I know how you feel. I hate this entire situation."

"Mom can I ask you a question?" Kovu asked, looking at his mother.

"Of course you can honey," Asha said with a smile.

"Do you hate Kopa now?" Kovu asked, his voice coming out very soft.

"I hate what he's done," Asha admitted. "But no I don't hate him. As far as I'm he's still my son and I love him. But I have to ask you Kovu doesn't what Kopa did to you bother you? I mean your own brother attacked you and left you for dead. That would be upsetting for anyone."

"Of course it bothers me Mom," Kovu said, rolling his eyes slightly. "I mean I never in a million years thought Kopa would do something like this. And he attacked Kijana and his siblings too. But I'm convinced that there's an evil spirit at work here. Namely Kion. Kion's to blame for all this."

"If you say so dear," Asha said, not wanting to upset her son even more by voicing her disbelief of Kopa's possession.

"Mom I know you don't believe that Kopa is possessed by Kion's spirit," Kovu said, causing Asha to blink in surprise. Asha opened her mouth to speak but Kovu held up his paw to silence her, "I'm not faulting you for that Mom. Its actually not that unreasonable not to believe in these things of you really think about it."

"I'm glad you don't think badly of me for this," Asha said with a relieved sigh. Kovu smiled at his mother. But his smile quickly turned into a frown.

"What the Hell is taking them so long?" Kovu wondered. "They've been gone for hours."

"Honey they haven't been gone that long," Asha said with a slight laugh. "Don't worry so much."

"Well excuse me Mother for being worried," Kovu said, sounding irritated as he rolled his light green eyes. "I mean its only my siblings, the love of my life and my closest friends that could get hurt or worse out there."

"Kovu I know you're worried," Asha said, the irritance coming through her voice. "But that's no reason to speak to me like that. I am your mother and I won't have you be disrespectful to me. Am I clear?"

"Yes," Kovu said, his voice coming out soft. "I'm sorry Mom. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I'm just so damn frustrated. I hate this whole damn situation and I'm really worried about Kopa. And now Safara's on the war path and she isn't thinking clearly. She could get really hurt if she tries to take on Kopa alone. Especially since he's clearly not himself. And I can't do anything to help and its driving me crazy." Asha pulled her son close and he buried his face in her chest fur as he fought not to cry. Just then Simba and Zira entered the cave. Kovu looked over at the King and Queen. "Any news?" the golden brown lion asked.

"None," Simba said with a frustrated grunt. "I just wish that something would..." But Simba was cut off by Zazu flying in.

"Oh Sire you must get to the Grassland border!" the hornbill cried out. "I feat the Prince and Princess may be in grave danger!"

"I'm on it!" Simba cried out, dashing out of the cave.

"Simba wait for me!" Zira cried out as she ran after her mate. This left the rest of the group to wait in stunned silence as they hoped Simba and Zira would be able to get to their children in time.
