Ch 22 Guilty Feelings and Judgement

"Whoa!" Nuka cried out as he jumped back along with the rest of the group.

"Kopa?" Kiara tried again. "Kopa are you in there little brother?"

"Yeah," Kopa said after a minute of silence. "Its me sis. Sorry about that. I was just making sure Kion was really gone. And it looks like he is."

"Thank the Kings for that," Kiara said, giving Kopa a nuzzle which he gladly returned.

"We're just glad to have you back Kopa," Simba said with a smile.

"Glad to be back King Simba," Kopa said with a smile of his own.

"Oh please," Zira said, coming onto the scene. "Just because Kopa seams to be back to normal doesn't excuse what he's done. Wouldn't you agree Simba?" Zira looked at her mate when she said this part.

"Zira," Simba began. But he was interrupted by Kopa.

"Queen Zira is right sir," the creamy coated lion said, his voice full of guilt and regret. "I've done so much harm. Even if it was Kion that made me do those horrible things the fact still remains that I was the one that attack Kijana and his siblings and nearly killed my own brother. And worst of all I nearly killed the lioness that I love more than anything in the world. I...I'll never be able to forgive myself for that so I hardly expect any of you to forgive me either." Kopa lowered his eyes in shame as he brushed away the tears that were coming out of his eyes.

"Honey you're brother doesn't blame you for what happened," Asha said, giving Kopa a gentle nuzzle. "And I'm sure that Kijana and his family will feel the same."

"Well here's you're chance to find out," Vitani said, nodding towards the cave entrance. The group looked and saw Kuato standing there Fauti right by her mate's said. Moto and Chana were behind their parent as well as Kijana, who was leaning against his brother for support. When Moto saw Kopa he let out a growl and handed Kijana to Chana while he charged towards Kopa. Before anyone could say or do anything Moto let out a furious roar and hit Kopa hard across his face, leaving four long scratch marks. Kopa let out a roar of pain while the rest of the group gasped in surprise.

"You bastard!" Moto roared as he Kopa once again. "I'm going to kill you for what you've done!" With that Moto raised his paw to hit Kopa once again. But he was stopped by Kijana's shout.

"Moto stop!" the young jackal cried out as he ran in front of his brother. But the effort from running caused Kijana a lot of pain and he winced despite his best efforts not to.

"Honey you really shouldn't be moving around like that," Fauti said, standing next to her son.

"I'm fine Mom," Kijana said with a smile. "Really I am."

"Kijana you don't have to stand up for me," Kopa said, rubbing his injured cheek. "I don't really deserve it."

"Damn right you don't," Moto growled. "Not after what you and Dogo did. When I get a hold of that snake I'm going to rip his damn head off!"

"Moto we're not here for vengeance," Kuato said, putting his paw on his son's shoulder. "We're here to talk remember?"

"Fine," Moto spat out, clearly unhappy with the situation. "I'll behave."

"I'm sorry about my brother," Kijana said with a rueful smile. "He can be a bit of a hothead."

"Shut up Kijana," Moto growled, glaring at his brother. "And don't freaking apologize for me."

"Anyways," Kijana said, rolling his eyes slightly. "I know you'd never hurt me or my siblings without someone or something influencing you. At first I though Dogo and his crazy ass parents got to you. Then I learned everything that's been going on and the theory of Kion's spirit controlling you and it all clicked for me. You weren't the one doing all these evil things. Kion was using your body to do his bidding."

"Yeah and it damn near worked," Kopa muttered, shuddering slightly.

"Well I don't buy that possession shit," Moto spat out. Then he got right in Kopa's face and bared his teeth. "Where the Hell is Dogo?! I'm gonna kill him!"

"I have no idea where he is," Kopa stammered, pulling his head away from Moto's "Honest I don't."

"He slithered back into the Outlands when it was clear he was his losing," Chafu informed the group. "I would have stopped him but Tama's lionesses stopped me."

"Moto you must calm yourself son," Kuato said, putting a paw on his son's shoulder.

"Yeah Mo' chill out," Chana said. "All this shouting and threatening isn't going to solve anything. In fact its only going to make things worse."

"Your sister is right dear," Fauti said as she gently nuzzled Moto. "And if you go into the Outlands without thinking then you're going to get yourself killed."

"Yeah well," Moto said, his voice coming out much calmer. "Maybe you guys are right. But don't expect me to apologize to Kopa 'cause that ain't happenin'! And I don't want anyone else apologizing for me either! Got it?!" Moto looked at Kijana when he said this part.

"Whatever Moto," Kijana said, shaking his head. Then he turned back towards Kopa and said, "Look Kopa I..."

"Kijana don't," Kopa interrupted. "Please just don't say another word alright?' Just come with me. All of you please come with me."

"Where are we going?" Kiara asked. "And are you sure you should be walking Kopa?"

"Kiara I'm fine," Kopa insisted. "I'm not injured. I just want to see Kovu alright? I owe him and all of you an apology and I want to do it all at the same time ok?"

"Very well," Simba said. "We'll go with you." With that the group followed Kopa to where Kovu was laying with Jasiri right next to him. When the group arrived they were happily surprised to see that Jasiri was awake and talking with Cala.

"Jasiri!" Kopa cried out, running over to his love. But to his surprise Cala got in between him and Jasiri and bared her teeth at Kopa.

"You're not going anywhere near my daughter!" the rusty brown lioness snarled. "Not after what you did to her."

"Cala I swear to you I didn't mean to hurt Jasiri," Kopa said. "I would never intentionally hurt her. I love her."

"That's elephant shit!" Cala growled. "If you love her like you claim to then you would have never laid a paw on her. And as her mother I'm going to protect her."

"Mom stop," Jasiri said, causing Cala to look over at her. "Please just stop. Let Kopa pass."

"Like Hell I will," Cala said, still glaring at Kopa.

"Please Mom," Jasiri pleaded. "For me."

"Fine," Cala said with another growl. "I'll back off. But don't think for one second that I'm going to leave you alone with this monster. Never again. And you can forget about marrying my daughter too! You'll be my son-in-law over my dead body!"

"I agree with you," Kopa said, causing everyone to blink in surprise. "You're absolutely right Cala. I...I am a monster. I don't deserve to be around other lions. And I sure as Hell don't deserve to be Jasiri's mate. Not after everything I've done."

"Kop' you weren't yourself," Kiara chimed in. "That was Kion's evil spirit that did those things not you."

"But I let him do it Kiara," Kopa said, his voice shaking with emotions. "I let him take control and I let him do those horrible things through me. I wasn't strong enough to fight him off. And I did so much harm. I almost killed my brother, who means the world to me. I almost killed three of my best friends. And I damn near killed the lioness that I love more than my owe life. That's unforgivable. So I've come to a decision."

"Oh?" Zira said, arching an eyebrow at Kopa. "And just what is that decision may I ask?"

"I'm doing you all a favor," Kopa said. "I'm leaving Pride Rock and the Pride Lands. Today. And I'm not coming back."
