Chapter 3: Shinengan Moths

The motif with different moth colours symbolising transformations was the central theme of the clan. Nanusake was also called the Moth Clan. Although they were respected in the village and kept the peace, people kept their distance from them. The reason for this was the controversial rituals and activities that resembled a dark sect.

The clan has evolved following the moth's natural evolutionary processes. Each colour had a meaning. Only females were born in Nanusake, so males were always chosen from the outside, as in Nadeshiko Village, but they were never allowed inside except for special ceremonies.

The most common colour of the moth was brown. Once in a while, however, black, white or turquoise was born - the rarest colour symbolising the strongest chakra. Each had its functions.

In the abyss, the queen was a representation of Moth - although her reincarnation was born only every 100 years in the history of the clan, every woman, whose blood flowed the blood of Huranaishi Otsutsuki inherited certain traits and memories of the soothsayer. Hence the selective gift of vision of the future.

At the time of Akira and Izumi, the clan was in crisis. They were a centuries-old family, and it turned out that there were only 50 members left among them, childless, ageing women. The only family with children was Izumi's and Akira's. Therefore, the girls were treated exceptionally.

Akira was born with the chakra of the white moth, while Izumi with a turquoise (luna moth) as the final most divine form of the Moth. In connection with this, great things were prophesied to them, especially to the younger sister.

If a person with luna moth chakra was made a jinchuuriki, they would be able to control the demon, synchronise with it, and even potentially experience liberation if it came to that.

The Clan was overjoyed with Izumi, as it guaranteed them that the Seven-Tails would be safely sealed in the next healthy and strong jinchuuriki. The current heiress was already on the brink of death.
