Act 2

Chapter 7: The Message

{Lemon scene}

"Yes! Ooooh, Isaac!" Pearl moaned loudly as Isaac pounded his member into her pussy. This was truly the best feeling in the galaxy. "Oh yes! Yes! Oh, give me more, Isaac!"

It was morning on Mask Island, and Isaac and Pearl were once again in the mitts of lust and passion. They've now gone for 2 rounds, with this being their third one. This time, Isaac was showing her doggy style. Pearl didn't get the name, but she didn't care. On her knees, the Gem held onto the headrest of the bed as Isaac plowed into her honeypot from behind. Her screams of ecstasy could be heard from outside of the house. Luckily no one was one the island.

Isaac reached out and grabbed Pearl's breast. Twisting her nipples and kissing her, making the white Gem whimper and moan even more. "I'm gonna cum! I'm gonna cum again!"

"You want me to fill you again?" Isaac said, whispering into her ear. Grunting as he pounded into her tight canal. "You want to fill your pussy with my warm cum?"

"Yes! Yes! Please! I want to melt from the heat of your cum!" Pearl moaned loudly, begging to feel his seed in her form again. And she soon got her wish, as Isaac came inside of her.

Pearl threw her head back and let out a scream of pleasure as rope after rope of semen was shot into her. Her eyes rolled into the back of her skull as her tongue stuck out. The feeling of Isaac pounding into her pussy was a wondering feeling that truly rattled all of her senses, but when he cummed inside of her? It truly felt her insides were melting from his cum, and it sent her senses on fire.

When Isaac finally stopped cumming into her, the two collapsed onto the bed together. The hybrid pulled his drenched membrane out of her battered pussy as Pearl's body twitched uncontrollably. The white Gem was helpless to stop Isaac from turning her over and claiming her lips with his own. But she didn't fight him. Instead, Pearl wrapped her arms around him and exchanged a passionate kiss with him.

As the two separated their lips, Pearl gasped in delight, as excess cum poured out her slit. "That was fantastic! If I had known that the way organic life reproduced could feel so good, I would have….." Pearl trailed off as Isaac gave her a raised eyebrow. "I mean…I wouldn't have been promiscuous about it. I would have been selective with my partners."

"Oh, so did I meet all of your standards?" Isaac asked with a sly expression

"Well, I wouldn't say all of them," Pearl said, still basking in the warmth of hot semen in her womb. "But I can always lower them. Just to your level. And did I meet your standards?"

"Never knew my standards until I met you," Isaac said lovingly. Pearl gave him the same smile. The two kissed again and held hands.

It's been over a week since the incident with Rose's scabbard and the two have started officially dating. After staying the night at the cabin, they returned to the Temple. Pearl apologized to the others for how she behaved and asked for their forgiveness, saying that Rose's death still weighed heavily on her and that Garnet was right. Steven was quick to accept the apology, with Garnet already forgiving her. Amethyst was a little more unwilling to do so until Garnet gave her a nudge.

And then when Isaac announced that he and Pearl were now a couple, everyone was happy for the two, especially Steven and surprisingly Garnet. Amethyst smirked, knowing that she now had so many opportunities to tease the two.

With their new relationship came a new sex life for the two, and many nights, they would sneak away to go to the cabin for nights of lust and passion. Something that Pearl has come to very much enjoy.

Pulling away from the kiss, Isaac said, "I guess we should start heading back home. The others would be worried about us."

Isaac stood and started putting on his underwear and pants. But while he had to put either article of clothing on one at a time, Pearl had no such trouble. With her magic, she reformed her clothes on her body.

"Hey, Isaac," Pearl said, turning back to Isaac. The white Gem blushed as she saw him about to slip back on his shirt. With his pants on and his cock out at sight, all that was left to see was his vert tone chest and abs. Which were a sight to behold as well. However, she maintained her focus on him. "Thank you. Not just for the sex, but for being there for me. And for your…feelings towards me."

Isaac smiled and placed his shirt on all the way. He then walked up to Pearl and placed his hands on her arms. "Pearl, are you sure you still want to do this?" He asked with uncertainty. "You still want to go through with…us?"

Pearl blushed at how thoughtful he was. "Yes. It's like you said, we'll take it slow," she said.

"As slow as you want to go," Isaac said, kissing her on her gemstone.

"But we're still having sex, right?"

"Oh, hell yeah," Isaac said, kissing her pointy nose and making Pearl giggle. Afterwards, the two then exited out of the home and started walking towards the warp pad, hand in hand.

However, a moment later, Isaac's phone started ringing. Pulling it out of his pants, Isaac pressed the answer button and placed it up to his ear. "Yo?" What came through was a loud sound that almost made his ears ring if he hadn't pulled the phone away.

"ISAAC, WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"Steven? Steven, what's going on?!" Isaac asked, very much worried for his friend when Steven yelled through the speaker. "Are you okay? What's all that notice?"

"PLEASE COME HOME! WE NEED YOU!"

The call ended. Isaac looked to Pearl, who looked very worried for Steven. "Let's get back there!"

When Isaac and Pearl came out of the warp, they were met with a horribly loud screeching noise that cut through the air and lightly shocked the ground and the building. Forcing Isaac to cover his ears because of how loud it was.

"What the hell's going on?!" He yelled at Steven, Garnet, and Amethyst. And that's when he saw what was behind the noise. Being held by Garnet was an upright stone with a gold button on top and a hole cut into the middle of the stone. "What is that thing?!"

"It's the Wailing Stone!" Pearl yelled over the sound it made.

"Make it stop!" Amethyst cried out.

"It just activated on its own!" Garnet said.

"Why?!" Isaac asked.

"We don't know!" Steven yelled.

"It won't shut off!" Amethyst whined.

As Amethyst continued yelling in pain, Garnet set the Wailing Stone on the floor. She then summoned her gauntlet and slammed the button at the top of the stone, stopping the noise.

"Did it work?" Isaac asked, standing with the others.

To see if it did, Garnet lifted up her gauntlet. For a moment, everyone thought it stopped the noise, until the button rose back up. Causing the noise to return and making everyone whine.

"Stand back!" Pearl said in an annoyed tone. The white Gem then approached the Wailing Stone and bubbled it, deafening the noise to near nothing as she lifted it off the ground. While it did exhibit some throbbing, the bubble seemed to be holding. "Huh? It worked! Now we can-"

She was interrupted when the bubble then began to expand until it eventually popped. Releasing the Wailing Stone, along with the ear-rattling noise. Everyone screamed at the returning noise. Before Isacc could do something to stop the sound, Steven ran up and stuck his arm through the hole of the stone. At first, the noise momentarily stopped, but when Steven opened his mouth, it came blasting out again through him. Isaac ran up to the kid and pulled him out of the stone. Again, the stone bellowed out its unbearable sound.

However, Garnet was able to deafen it by shoving a couch cushion through the hole. She then grabbed the rest of the cushions and surrounded the stone with them. Quieting the stone to almost complete silence. However, for good measure, she grabbed Steven from Isaac and placed him on top.

"Okay, can someone please tell me, what the hell is going on with that thing?!" Isaac exclaimed, joining the girls in a huddle.

"We don't know, and I don't understand. That thing has laid dormant since we found it," Garnet said.

"I haven't heard a Wailing Stone activate since we used them for the rebellion, and I've never heard it sound like that!" Pearl informed the group.

"You used these things, right?" Isaac asked his girlfriend and she nodded. "Well, then you know how to work it, right? What was it trying to do?

"It wasn't trying to do anything," Garnet informed the blonde man. "Someone is trying to send us a message."

"Who'd want to talk to us?" Isaac asked, raising an eyebrow.

"That's what we'd like to know, Isaac," Pearl said, placing a hand on his shoulder. She pulled it back as she started to become worried. "We've rounded up all the Wailing Stones on Earth, and we're not sending this signal to ourselves. Unless…" She then looked down at Amethyst with an irked expression. "Amethyst, is this a prank?!"

"No way! I want it to stop! I don't like it!" Amethyst cried, grabbing her hair in agony.

"If it's not coming from Earth, then a Gem must be sending this message from space," Garnet told the team as Steven walked over to them.

"Is that what some Gems sound like?"

"No, no, we should be hearing a voice. Maybe this signal is too advanced for the Wailing Stone to process. That would explain the distorted audio," Pearl said, trying to reason for the noise they heard from the stone.

Isaac placed his hand on his chin and started to think for a moment. If that was the case, then they had to find a way to edit the audio that was coming through the stone and make it more clear. But how would they do that if they had no sound equipment?

In that moment, Isaac's eyes widened. Turning to Steven, he knelt down and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Steven, your dad still has equipment from when he was a rockstar?"

Steven gasped as his eyes widened. "That's right! My daddy-o knows audio!" He exclaimed.

"That's right," Isaac said with a smile. "Go get him and tell him to bring all of his audio equipment."

"You got it!" Steven said, before running out the door to get his dad.

"Uh… Isaac?" Amethyst spoke up with an uneasy voice. "Did you just send Steven to get Greg to…help us?"

"That's the point," Isaac said, walking over to the pillow-covered Wailing Stone and picked it up.

"I don't know…" Pearl said, unsure of her lover's idea.

"Look, I know you guys don't like him," Isaac said. Pearl especially given her love for Rose. "But Greg is the only person we know with knowledge in music and audio. Unless of course any of you have any other ideas."

"Uhh…."

"Don't whine, let's try it," Garnet said, before Amethyst could complain.

"I can't believe it! You need help with sound stuff!?" Greg happily said as he unloads all sorts of audio equipment out of his van, while the Crystal Gems sit and watch nearby on some cushions in the sand. When Greg heard that Steven needed his help with sound, Greg didn't waste any time in gathering everything to assist his son and the Crystal Gems.

"You've come to the right guy! Ah ha!" Greg pulled out a huge glowing blue microphone from his van. "The Lubitz Cardioid Condenser 680! It's got warm tone without too much top end."

"Uh, plus it's got a big honking sponge thing," Amethyst pointed out.

Turns out the microphone wasn't glowing. It was just a regular microphone with a giant foam cover. "I know, isn't it awesome!?"

Greg removed the couch cushion from the Wailing Stone, causing the noise to emit. Isaac and the Crystal Gems covered their ears because of the noise. Steven's dad quickly plugs the microphone into the hole of the stone. Deafening the sound next to silence.

He then walked over to his audio equipment and began to adjust the settings. "Now I'm going to add some reverb and some low octave effects. I'm also adding some fuzz 'cause who couldn't use more fuzz? Now if I directly input the Wailing Stone and put it through a flanger, we might get what you're looking for."

The others looked to Isaac. "Don't look at me," he said. "I don't do this kind of stuff."

"Flangers aside, do you really think a signal like this is compatible with your analog devices?" Pearl questioned Greg.

"Don't worry dad," Steven said, before speaking through a voice distorter device. "It'll work!" Isaac smiled and ruffled his hair.

"Well, here goes nothing," Greg said, trailing off as he turned on the flanger. The result was that the wailing noise intensified even more. Knocking everyone down on the ground.

"This is even worse!" Amethyst yelled, covering her ears in agony.

"I'm sorry!" Greg yelled.

Taking the initiative, Isaac jumped to his feet and rushed towards the amplifier that was blaring the sound. Being so close to them made his ears throb badly, but Isaac grabbed onto the nubs and turned the volume down. Bring it to a manageable level, and the wailing noise abated to an ambient-like sound. Much to the relief of Amethyst.

Isaac sighed and rubbed his head, which was still throbbing. Standing back up, Greg walked over to his equipment. "Nice thinking, Isaac," Greg said, adjusting some of the nubs and switches.

"Thanks," Isaac said with a smile. He then brought the volume up a bit to hear the sound better. As he did that, he noticed something about it. It was very faint, but Isaac was sure he was hearing something. "Anyone else hear that?"

"Yeah," Steven said, removing his hands from his ears. "It sounds like... music."

"Yeah, that's real nice," Greg muttered as he tunes his equipment a bit more. Soon the noise took on a more musical tone. Even Isaac was starting to like it. "Yes, yes! Woo-hoo!" He cheered like the music enthusiast he was.

"But, it's not supposed to be music," Pearl said, trying to bring him back to the mission at hand. "It's supposed to be a message!"

"Okay, hold on I got this," Greg said, getting back on track. He started fiddling with the equipment, tuning the audio to try and make it say its message. Causing it to fluctuate again. "It's changing!"

"I hear a voice!" Isaac exclaimed, hearing a voice from the amplifiers. "Keep going!"

"Almost got it!" Greg adjusted the noise more. However it would all come to a sudden end when the system short-circuits. The noise stopped playing and smoke emanated from the van's engine. "Aww... Oh great." Greg groaned, realizing that the experiment fried his engine's battery.

"What's happening?" Pear yelled, getting angry at Greg for stopping. "Where's the signal?"

Isaac ran around to the front of the car and popped the hood. He looked inside, but turned away when a puff of smoke flew into his face. Looking back inside, he sighed at what he saw. "It's shot!" he yelled, letting the hood slam back down. "The van battery couldn't handle the power."

"I had a feeling this wouldn't work," Pearl said, pacing around in frustration at their failed attempt. All the while criticizing Greg and his equipment. "There's just no way that Greg's equipment can interface with our ancient Gem technology."

"Ah…come on, Pearl. We can't be ready to give up yet," Steven said, however Pearl was having none of it.

"Look, we just gotta keep trying," Greg said. "Sure we don't have the latest and greatest Gem tech, but-" However, he was unable to convince the Gems, who already had no faith in him or the experiment. That's why Garnet removed the microphone from the Wailing Stone. The noise momentarily returned before she plugged the couch cushions back into it.

"It's okay Greg, you tried," Garnet said softly while placing her hand on his shoulder, but her words felt shallow to him. She then turned back to the others. "Back to the temple. We'll figure something else out." And with that, the Gem leader jumped off.

"What a waste of time," Pearl grumbled, jumping off too.

"See you later, Gregory," Amethyst added, jumping off after them.

"Ah, come on y'all!" Steven called out before trying to jump after the Gems. However, he just fell on his face.

Isaac turned to Greg, who looked down in disappointment as he sat down in the back of his van. "I really blew it, huh?" He asked.

"I'm sorry it didn't work out, Greg," Isaac said, sitting down in the van with him. "We'll think of something."

"It's not just that, Isaac," Greg said, picking up his guitar and plucking on the strings one at a time. "You can probably tell that the Gems… don't really like me."

Isaac looked away and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, they've made that apparent."

He sighed miserably. "Sometimes I wonder if they blame me for what happened to Rose," Greg said. In many ways, he can't blame them.

"Hey, don't think like that," Isaac told him, placing a hand on Greg's shoulder. "Look, I'm still new to this whole being in a relationship with a Gem, especially with Pearl, but Rose fell in love with you. She could have had any other human in the world, but she picked you, man. If the Gems can't see that, then they're lost. Besides, you did do one good thing for them."

While still miserable, Greg looked up at Isaac. "Really? What's that?"

"You gave them Steven."

This surprised the former rockstar, who looked at him with wide eyes. He then turned to his son, who smiled at him. This boy was the result of that love for Rose and he was the final gift she wanted him to have. Greg saw so much of Rose in his son, and it made him so happy.

"Thanks, Isaac," Greg said, before frowning again. "I just wish that they give me a chance to prove that I'm not a screw-up."

"Dad, I hate seeing you like this," Steven said, walking up to him. "There's gotta be something else we can try."

"Eh, I don't know Steven," Greg said looking over his equipment. "I mean, sound and stuff like this, this stuff's my whole world, and if I can't figure this out then, maybe it isn't even sound."

Isaac looked away, trying to think of a way to help Greg and help the Gems figure out how to unlock the secrets of the stone. As he started to brainstorm, Isaac laid back in the van and looked up at the ceiling. However, as he looked up, the young man noticed something. Sitting back up, he saw that it was an old TV that Greg uses.

In that moment, Isaac's eyes widened. "Holy shit."

"Do you mind not cussing in front of my son," Greg said in disapproval.

"I can't keep that promise, but listen!" Isaac exclaimed as he jumped out of the van. "Pearl said that the reason the Wailing Stone isn't making the message clear to us is because the signal is too advanced."

Greg and his son looked at one another with confusion. "I'm not sure I'm following you."

"What if it isn't a voice message, but a video message?" Isaac exclaimed, throwing his arms out.

When he heard this, Greg gasped. "Oh my days, you're right!"

"We have to tell the Gems! Video!" Steven yelled, as he started running to beach house

"Hey, slow down!" Greg called out as he and Isaac chased after him.

Isaac bursted into the house and rushes in with Greg and Stevne right behind him. "Girls! Where's the Wailing Stone?" He exclaimed, before noticing that they weren't there.

"We're over here." Said Amethyst. Isaac turned to see the Gems sitting by the windows. The Wailing Stone in front of them.

"Alright, give me that." Isaac picked up the Wailing Stone from the floor.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Pearl asked.

"We're going to try again," Greg said as he began to plead his case. "I know my audio equipment seems like a pile of Earth junk to y'all but-"

"Greg, it's okay." Garnet interrupted him.

But this did not sit well with the man. It wasn't okay, and he looked annoyed and angry that she would even say that. "No it's not!" He exclaimed, startling the Gems with how serious he was being. "You guys don't give up on anything, except for me. Come on... it's not like I can make it any worse!"

The Gems looked at one other in silent contemplation. They then looked at Isaac for his input. "Rose believed in Greg. It's time you put your faith in him as well. Either way, we're still doing this," Isaac said, placing the stone on his shoulder and started walking out the door.

"Wait." Isaac stopped as Pearl stood up. "While I'm…still unconvinced that Greg's technology would be able to do the job…." she paused for a moment to grab Isaac's hand. "I'm willing to try if you are, Isaac."

And just like that, the others were onboard too. The Crystal Gems and Greg returned back to the van, where Isaac gave Garnet one end of a pair of jumper cables. The other ends were connected to the car battery, which Pearl was inspecting.

"Everything connected, Pearl?" Isaac called out to his girlfriend.

"We're good to go," she replied. "Okay, go for it Garnet." With the word being given to her, Garnet began generating electrical currents from her hands, a power that Isaac never knew she had. But it served its role as the electricity flowed through the jumper cables to the van engine, jump-starting engine. "Okay Amethyst, try it now."

Amethyst was sitting in the driver's seat of the car, waiting for Pearl to give her the signal. "I've never started a car with a key before," she said.

"Wait, how else did you start a car?" Isaac asked.

"Hotwire, duh," Amethyst said, before grabbing and turning the car key in the ignition. Starting up the van "Hahaha, that's way easier!"

"The battery is ready to go," Pearl announced to the others in the back. She then shut the engine hood before she, Isaac, and the other Gems made their way to the back.

"The Wailing Stone is ready," Steven said once the condenser was inside the stone.

"Ready with the video cord, Steven?" Greg asked his son while he readied his equipment.

"Ready," Steven said, before plugging the cord into the TV. Activating it, as the TV brought up the usual black and white fuzzy static. However, it also started emitting a strange noise.

As Greg started tuning his equipment, Pearl started to get nervous. "Is that it?" She asked.

"No, it's just static," Isaac told her, grasping her hand. "All Greg's got to do is try and tune the equipment so that we can see what the message is."

"Just a second." Greg started to adjust the controls of the equipment further. As he fiddled with it, the results were much better. Whereas before they heard only music and audio, the sound was still hard to make out, but the imagery on the TV became less fuzzy. Fluctuating as it tried to right the image

"I hear something," said Steven as the Crystal Gems kept watching in suspension. The noise was still garbled, but Isaac knew that he was hearing some words here and there.

"Come on!" Greg groaned as he desperately tried to keep adjusting the frequency. However, he was getting closer and closer, as the noise started to become clearer. Until….

"Isaac! Steven!"

Isaac couldn't believe what he was seeing. When Greg finally got the imagery on the TV to become clearer, it revealed none other than his friend Lapis Lazuli.

"Lapis!" Isaac and Steven said in awe together, unable to believe seeing her again after so long.

"I did it!" Greg exclaimed with joy at his accomplishment.

"I can't believe my flippin' eyes!" Pearl exclaimed in surprise at the success.

"Everyone, listen up!" Garnet ordered. Isaac walked up to the tv and stared at her as she continued the message.

"I hope you're able to hear this, and if you do, please listen. There's a Gem that's looking for you two, she even knew your names. I don't know how! I didn't tell her, I swear! She's on her way to Earth, and she's not alone!" Lapis told the boys, sounding really scared. Her expression of terror was worrying to Isaac. But the blue Gem's words transferred that fear she had to the rest of the Gems. Especially the girls. "Isaac, Steven, Homeworld it's not the way it used to be. Everything here is so advanced! I can't even understand it. There's no way anything on Earth can stand up to it. Please, don't put up a fight, It will only lead to devastation!-"

The video suddenly cut off, ending the transmission. Leaving the Gems with nothing but static.

"Lapis!" Isaac flinched forward, before realizing it was too late. Realizing this, he looked at the Wailing Stone. Walking over to it, he pulled out the condenser from the hold.

No sounds came from it. It went back to being silent.

"It's Peridot," Pearl said somberly. "She must be talking about Peridot."

"She's coming for us!" Amethyst yelled, grabbing her head in fear. "And if she's coming back, then she's bringing Citrine with her!"

"Isaac." the young man turned to see Steven looking up at him. "Lapis, she sounded so unhappy…"

"Yeah, she did…" Isaac said, sitting down in the sand. His mind started to fill with so many questions as Pearl and Amethyst freaked out in the background.

"What are we going to do?!" Amethyst yelled the biggest question on everyone's minds.

"Woo!" Everyone looked at the Gem's leader with looks of confusion. With her hand placed on her hip, she turned her head to the others. Her visors were still blocking her eyes. "We did it."

"What?!" Pearl asked in confusion.

"We got the message."

Amethyst was about to chime in. "But-"

"It's got!" Garnet said through her teeth in a sternly tone. Wanting for the others to stay focused on that and nothing else. Garnet then approached Greg and did something that none of the other girls have ever done. She showed him appreciation by holding out her hand. While she treated Greg better than the others did, she still didn't show much respect towards him. But now it was time to make a change.

Greg looks at Garnet's hand in surprise and awe at the significance of her gesture. He took her hand, but instead of shaking, she clapped her other hand on top of his.

"Thank you Greg, we would not have received this message without your help," she said to him with sincerity.

"You're... You're welcome." He told her, stuttering in his words as his eyes "

"My dad is…" Steven started, before speaking with voice distortion, "…the best!"

"Oh my gosh, Steven's a robot! Help, I can't relate to my robot son!" Greg cried out good-heartedly, playing along with his son's game.

"My mind is the internet, I know every continuity mistake ever made on television," Steve said in his robot voice.

Isaac, Greg, and Steven started laughing together. However, when Isaac turned back to the Gems, they were gone, with the Wailing Stone also missing. He looked around, trying to see where they had gone off to. That's when he looked around the van towards the temple. He saw the Gems entering the beach house, with Amethyst closing the door behind her. Frowning a little, Isaac left Steven and his father to spend time together as he walked back to the house. Having a good idea on what was going through their heads.

Upon entering the house, Isaac Pearl and Amethyst inside in the living room. Amethyst was lounging on the sofa with Pearl, who was sweating and fiddling with her thumbs while her hands were clasped together. A moment later, Garnet walked out of the Temple with no sight of the Wailing Stone to be seen. Obviously having put it back.

When Pearl noticed her boyfriend walking up to her, she looked happy. "Oh, hey, my love," she said, jumping up and hugging her boyfriend with a happy look on her face.

While Isaac was more than happy to give her affection back, Isaac knew this wasn't a genuine hug of love. It was a hug of fear, with her arms gripping him tightly. Pulling his arms out of her grip, Isaac gently pushed Pearl back and clapped her hands. "Girls, I want to talk."

Pearl flinched and backed away. "And…why would we need to do that?

"Hey, Isaac. Instead of sucking faces with Pearl, how about that game of cards you owe us?" Amethyst said to him. Garnet walked over to the table and picked up several cards that were strewn about.

"Yeah, get in on this," the Gem leader said, sitting on the floor.

"Girls, stop," Isaac said, letting go of Pearl as he turned to face them all. "I know you're all thinking about Peridot.

"Oh, well, yes. Everything is fine." Pearl said, but was cut off by Isaac.

"No it's not, Pearl! I know it's not," Isaac said, raising his voice slightly "I know you three are scared, and I've got a pretty good idea why. You're afraid of Peridot and Citrine coming back. But most of all, you're afraid of Homeworld coming back. So, please, just talk to me."

For a moment, they looked at each other, before Garnet finally said it herself. "How can we not be scared?" Garnet said, setting her cards on the table. "Peridot is coming back to earth. And we don't know who or what she'll be coming with. She's a modern gem with modern gem technology that's bound to overpower us." Isaac stared at Garnet, listening with shock at just how hopeless her words were. "Isaac, the truth is... we fought one war…we're not ready for another one."

With the truth said, the Gems looked down in sadness. It shocked Isaac to see them like this. No matter how bleak things seemed, one or more would still try and inspire hope or get the team back on the mission at hand. But for all three of the most powerful warriors he knee to just give up? Yet, here they were. His two friends and girlfriend, scared and depressed."

"We've been scared before, right?" To everyone's shock and startlement, Steven was standing a few feet away, behind Isaac. He came in when Garnet started talking. Quietly entering the house to listen to what she had to say. Now he was trying to bring everyone out of their slump. "None of us know what's going to happen, but... that's okay. We can figure things out - together."

The Gems and Isaac looked at one another while taking in the words of the boy. Steven was right. Now matter what was coming their way, they always managed to figure out a way to win. They all silently nodded in agreement, before Isaac grabbed Pearl's hand and guided her over to the table and sat her down on the couch.

"Come on. Let's play a quick game before it's time for you to go to bed," he said to Steven. The young boy smiled and ran over to join the others for a quick game.

However, this was only the calm before the storm.

AN: I know that I was supposed to do an Onyx chapter, but honestly, I just wanted to do this one more. Mainly because of how close we are to the end of Act 2.

Up next is the chapter we've all been waiting for. I'm combining the Return and Jail Break into one chapter, just like the end of Act 1. So you can bet I'm going to do the next chapter after this.

Until then, I'll see you all later.
