"Malfoy," a familiar voice called as he exited the Wizengamot Chamber where he had been for Rockwood's trial.

"Granger," he replied turning to look at the little witch who had hurried after him.

"I just wanted to say thank you for stopping him, I owe you my life," the little witch told him extending her hand to him, Draco shook it eerily reminded of the day he'd thanked her in this very spot after his own trial.

"It was the right thing to do," he told her shrugging his shoulders.

"Not many people would venture into Knockturn Alley to help someone, thank you Malfoy," she told him seriously.

"I wish I'd been able to help you before," he told her honestly glancing down at the exposed scar on her forearm.

"If you had she'd have likely killed you," she replied.

"I was a coward," he told her.

"You were doing what you needed to survive, to protect your mother, it doesn't make you a coward," she told him.

"I'm sorry about your parents," he told her quietly.

"Me too," the brunette witch admitted with a sad smile.

"Hermione are you ready to head home," one of the Weasley twins called.

"Coming Freddie," she replied with a final nod at him she turned and walked into the arms of the ginger man who led her down the corridor, the little witch tucked into his side safely.
