With the sake business getting on its feet, Toshi figured it was time to take a break from it all for a short while. Yet, when he returned home, he found Choso standing there, with a very serious and stern posture.
"Choso?"
"Do you have any idea how disappointed I am…"
He froze instantly. "Because I haven't been spending time at home? I'm sorry, this sake thing just sort of came out of nowhere…"
"Not that," he said shaking his head. "Did we not promise your mother that you would see her at least once a week?"
Instantly, Toshi froze to the question.
He did promise his mother!
"I…"
"You are not going to the brewery tomorrow, you are going to see your mother." He decreed. "Don't disappoint her."
Toshi settled himself down and nodded to him, apparently Choso has been in contact with his mother more than him! He cannot allow such a thing to happen!

"For a moment, I thought you forgot about me!"
Toshi forced a small grin as he sat across from his mother. He still felt terrible that he had broken his promise to visit once a week. But when he explained what was happening she was very understanding. "Just don't be working too hard. I got Choso on speed dial!" she warned him.
Toshi nodded and promised he would do better. However, today he wasn't alone with his mother. He also got to spend some time with his little brother… and the oddly older brother who has taken on Toshi's appearance. "How is the familiar working out for you?" he asked.
"Oh he's fine!" his mother said and laughed. "He spends a lot of time with your little brother, at the same time I find it's strange he's not that big of an eater. Before he would inhale food like he hasn't been fed, as of late, he's content with the portions given. Perhaps he needed some time to adjust to his human form?"
Toshi however knew other wise. His mother familiar hunts and hunts well!
"But… why has he altered his look to take on my exterior?" he asked offhandedly.
"I blend in better!" Yig decreed. "But it also is very beneficial for me…" that smile at the end… well… it just confirms in Toshi's mind as to how he has been hunting.
"Why does older brother look weird?" the younger sibling whispered.
He smirked to him as his mother gently scolded him. "Don't say such a thing!"
"No, it's alright mother, he's not wrong on that. I do look weird… even stranger still…" he peered about at first to ensure there wasn't anyone watching. He didn't sense sorcerer's either and started to toy with his younger sibling. He would open an eye randomly on his body, startling the little brother at first until he playfully slapped the eye closed… not hard mind you, but he made it appear he didn't control these eyes well and they would open on their own unless slapped closed. When he did that to one, another eye would open at random.
He got a good giggle out of him.
But it also confirmed in his mind too, his younger brother has potential to be a sorcerer himself. "So, what has happened since? Have you been in any danger?" Toshi asked.
His mother shook her head. "I know they have been lingering here and there, but they don't dare make a move. Yig makes sure of that."
Toshi turned and nodded his approval. "Thank you for looking after my family."
"Hey, that's what older brothers do," he said and smirked. "That's my story, I'm sticking with it!"
But there was one thing he had to know. "Yig, is it? Can you explain something to me, most of the time, I don't see a divine user with their summons out in the open, and they are hidden from sight, until called upon. How is it that I am able to see you? For that matter, that everyone can?"
He smirked to him a little. "Well, that's because of your mother. She doesn't want me hidden. A divine user can decide on whether or not their familiars are seen. We are as long as we are given an identity to have, thus, why I look like an older version of you. She opted to allow me to be seen, at the same time… it's rather nice that I can be noticed too… my kind are often hidden for… obvious reasons."
He nodded, after all Yig is a basilisk.
"So, what have you been doing to pass the time?" his mother asked.
Toshi smirked. "Somehow, I got dragged into making sake with Uba." He said and smiled. "It's honestly not that bad of a hobby to have… we're going to try beer next. He actually just decided to sell it now if you can believe it, but profits are being donated."
"Ooo, sounds good!" Yig said with a greedy grin. "Next time bring me some of that stuff!"
"You drink?"
"My kind, oh yeah! The thing about us, since we are highly poisonous as it is, if we drink something that is toxic but not as strong as our venom it has little effect. So booze gives me like a body mellowing feeling. It's not toxic to me nor has the same effect as it does on humans, but I do get a good buzz out of it."
Toshi smirked, he made note of that. Since after all, Yig is taking care of his mother and family in his absence. Sukuna should be more than willing to part with some of his sake for this.
For the rest of the afternoon, Toshi spent it with his mother and… siblings. He got to know Yig rather well and he and his younger brother truly act like brothers. In fact, they tease one another often. One wouldn't realize that neither one of them are blood related.
"It's adorable. I didn't think Yig would like your brother, but, I came home one day, Yig was napping in his room in his serpent form, and there your little brother was, sleeping in his coils. The two were out like lights. And any time he gets scared now, he goes to sleep in Yig's room."
Toshi smiled a little, but sighed as well. "I'm sorry it's not me doing that for him…" he said meekly.
"Toshi…" He turned, his mother gently cupped his face and look him in the eyes. "Don't feel you are responsible for everything." She said gently. "What has happened, happen. At the same time, this was beyond your control. What matters to me is that you are happy." She bore a proud smile. "I can only hope that you find happiness in this new life you have been given."
He sighed and nodded. "Just don't expect grandchildren from me…" he said and smiled a little.
His mother nudged him firmly. "Why not!" she demanded. "You're a fine young man!"
He shook his head. "After speaking with Choso on the matter, and learning as to what his mother went through, I think I can understand their perspective on how they won't be fathers themselves… and yet that perspective has shifted a little… did you know they all have girlfriends?" he asked offhandedly.
His mother bore a grin. "So it IS possible for you. Not to mention to ensure I get some grandkids from you!"
"Once more mother, I think you are asking too much of me…" he sighed.
"HEY! LET'S GET ICE CREAM!" Yig called out.
Honestly, he could go for a treat and a subject change…
