* You're on the way to Tenrou Island, where the S-rank mage promotion will take place. Next to you is Erza who you're helping with this test. You see the other candidates that are taking the test, starting with Mirajane and her brother helping her, Fried and Bickslow, Cana and Laki, Alazack and Bisca, and lastly Mest and Macao. Makarov explains how this place is where the first Fairy Tail Master Mavis Vermillion is laid to rest. You feel some deep power surging inside the island but you're not quite sure what it is. As you gaze into the island you hear Makarov grab everyone's attention.

"They say that… Fairies once lived on this island." - Makarov

"Master!" - Erza

"I shall now reveal the nature of the first test." - Makarov

* Makarov explains how there will be eight paths once they arrive at the shore where the stream of smoke is coming from. From there, each pair chooses a path and it is only one path per pair. Only the team who have successfully completed the paths will pass the first test. One of the routes will lead to Gildart, Laxus, or Makarov. The other options are being scott free or battling one of the candidates. Makarov starts the test immediately in the middle of the sea. Without hesitation Erza carries you like a potato sac and starts flying through the sea without problem. You and Erza are the first to arrive to the shore.

"Hmm… Which one should we take Frisk?" - Erza

* You look through the caves and each of them has a letter. You choose the first one.

"Letter A! Good choice, let's head inside." - Erza

* You and Erza head inside the cave unsure on what to find.

* You and Erza go down through the cave unsure who to find. Eventually, you find an open area and see a tall man with orange hair. You recognize that hair. It's Gildarts, it's been a while since he left for his last S-rank mission.

"Oh Erza! Frisk! It's been a while! Erza you've grown so tall and you Frisk…" - Gildarts

* Gildarts stares at you for a good 10 seconds.

"... Okay I'm actually impressed how you haven't changed at all…" - Gildarts

* You greet Gildart with how he's been.

"Ah the old-man (Makarov) yelled at me to come home for once so here I am! I've been well thank you." - Gildarts

* Erza changed to her battle armor and pulled her sword out pointing at him.

"Gildarts! Surely you didn't just come here to talk with us?" - Erza

"Ah come on! It's been what, a little over a year since i've seen you guys? Breaking my heart a little. Oh well, I guess you're right and I should do my job." - Gildarts

* The ground starts to crack. You steel yourself in determination.

"I'm glad I'm against you two though, because I won't be able to hold back…!" - Gildarts

* The battle starts with Gildarts crushing the ground around you and Erza. You both hop away from the splitting floor. Erza with her sword leapt forward and quickly striked against Gildart. However, Gildart caught the sword and with it, the sword immediately got crushed into pieces. Gildarts is about to strike at Erza but you pull her out in time via "shortcut".

"Thanks Frisk!" - Erza

"It seems my magic has an advantage against yours Erza. Frisk on the other hand…" - Gildarts

"What an interesting ability you have, it looks like teleportation like many others but that's not quite it is it?" - Gildarts

* …

"Hahaha… Guess i'll have to try harder!" - Gildarts

* Erza changes her armor into her Heaven's Wheel Armor and roughly a hundred sword floats over Erza.

"Try crushing these!" - Erza

Hundreds of swords start flying towards Gildarts and he crushes all of them creating a dust of smoke, however that was just a distraction. Inside the smoke, Erza follows up with a spear thrust. Gildarts grabs the attack immediately crushing the spear and is about to attack Erza, however he is unable to as just as he is about to attack Erza, Frisk shows up from behind with an attack with… A stick? Nonetheless, he retreats to defend himself from the attack from both sides but Erza manages to make Gildarts a little with a small cut.

"Hahaha! Magnificent! You may pass!" - Gildarts

"...Wasn't our job to defeat you?" - Erza

"Well as a proctor, You definitely showed me that you're capable of becoming an S-rank along with your friend." - Gildarts

"... I appreciate that but I know that even now that you were holding back the whole time. I wish not to just meet your expectation but surpass it! To protect Fairy Tail and my friends!" - Erza

* Erza held up her sword ready to fight again.

"Is that your answer… That is very much like you… Well then! I'll show you what you need to fight against in order to protect your loved ones!" - Gildarts

A burst of magic came out from Gildarts causing the ground to shake with heavy pressure in the air. It caused Erza to kneel from the pressure. There was a beam of magic that was surrounding Gildarts.

"Ugh…!" - Erza

Erza tried to force herself to get up but was struggling to get up. Tears fell from her left eye.

"I'm frustrated….I know what I must do but yet my body refuses too…! How will I protect everyone I love if I can't even do this!" - Erza

When Erza was losing hope, she saw a small hand in front of her. A hand that she's familiar with. Her first friend that she made ever since she left that place… Frisk. Erza lifted her head and saw Frisk. Frisk opened her mouth and spoke in a soft voice.

"You don't have to burden yourself with everything. Sometimes… Even the strongest need help." - Frisk

Erza grabbed Frisk's hand and picked herself back up. With it, she felt energy surging through her. A beam of magic also bursted through the sky like Gildarts. Erza looked at Gildarts in determination. Gildarts made a surprised face but quickly recovered having a stare down with Erza. After a short while though, Gildarts heavy atmosphere disappeared along with the beam of magic.

"Hahaha! You really surpassed my expectations! I would really want to fight you guys but I don't want to get in trouble with the old man for destroying the island along with it. I mean it, you deserve to pass. We'll get our fight another time." - Gildarts

Erza didn't know when but the burst of energy she felt also disappeared too without her knowing. She looked at Frisk who was making a blank face as usual. She laughed a little and put away her sword and went back into her regular armor. Erza grabbed Frisk's hand and walked out, passing Gildarts.

A little after Erza and Frisk left, Gildarts left out a sigh of relief.

"... I know you've been watching after you did your test with the other kids, old man." - Gildart

Makarov showed up, dropping down from where he's been looking. Makarov made a wide grin.

"So? What did you think?" - Makarov

"... It's crazy to think that she is only 15. She could definitely give current S-rank mages a hard fight. Though I always knew that from Erza. Speaking of which…" - Gildarts

Gildarts made a frown at Makarov

"Just what the hell is that kid?" - Gildarts

Even the Gildarts didn't specify, Makarov knew who he was talking about.

"Does that kid know lost magic? Ignoring that, that kid didn't even flinch when I showed my full power?! Actually, She matched my full power or something? Cause yes I know Erza's potential but that was not purely hers at the end." - Gildarts

"She's well… A mystery..." - Makarov

"You think?" - Gildarts

Makarov made a sad face.

"She carries a burden that no one should at that age." - Makarov

"..." - Gildarts

"But I hope that Fairy Tail is a place where she feels safe." - Makarov
