Warning: This chapter contains many gruesome scenes, blood, screaming, and other disturbing elements.

J.D., Lincoln, and Linka are in the Simulator for a special exercise.

J.D. told the viewrs, "Lincoln and Linka have a special history report due at school in two days. I'm going to help them."

"Our history report is about the people in Dante Alighieri's Inferno," Lincoln told the readers.

"So I figured we'd use the Simulator to take us to the source of all evil: the Netherworld," J.D. explained.

Varie, Lisa, Lily, Lola & Lana, and Laney were in the control room.

The exercise activated

The 1st Circle of the Inferno - Limbo.

J.D., Lincoln, and Linka were exploring a citadel.

"What is this place?" Lincoln asked.

"This is the 1st Circle of the Inferno - Limbo," J.D. explained. "Here suffer those who did not sin or did not have the required faith."

They saw many famous people in the citadel.

"Who are all these people?" Linka wondered, looking around.

"These were the great rulers and philosophers of the Golden Ages," J.D. explained.

They met Hector, Orpheus, Pontius Pilate, Electra, Julius Caesar, King Latinus, Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle.

Hector was the Trojan Army Commander and Troy's greatest fighter during the Trojan War.

Orpheus was a musician who descended into the Netherworld to resurrect his beloved wife, Eurydice.

Pontius Pilate was the man who ordered Jesus Christ's crucifixion.

Electra was the Princess of Argos who killed her mother Clytemnestra and stepfather Aegisthus for the murder of her father.

Julius Caesar was the famous Emperor of Rome.

King Latinus was the Trojan Hero and king of Latium.

Plato, Socrates and Aristotle were famous Greek Philosophers.

J.D., Lincoln, and Linka walked down a hall when they noticed another soul.

"Who is this?" Lincoln asked.

"This is Saladin, the Sultan of Syria and Egypt," J.D. explained. During the Crusades in 1193 AD, he conquered the holy city of Jerusalem in Israel and is a well-known figure in Arabic Lore."

"I didn't know that," Lincoln admitted.

As they continued, they encountered many souls of the forsaken.

They then came across a gigantic monster.

"What is that?" Linka asked, gaping at the monster.

"That's King Minos," J.D. pointed out. "He was once a king of Crete before Daedalus boiled him in his own bath. Now he forever judges the forsaken and sends them to one of the eight circles below."

"Who comes into my House of Pain?" roared King Minos.

J.D. decided to introduce himself. "My name is J.D. Knudson, and these are my friends Lincoln and Linka Loud. We've come to do a school report for Lincoln and Linka's school."

King Minos narrowed his eyes with suspicion before finally believing him. "Hmm. I understand. Proceed to the circles, but be careful."

They continue to the next circle.

The 2nd Circle of the Inferno - Lust

Storm clouds raged on as they descended into the 2nd circle, and rain and strong winds blew around.

"What is this place?" Lincoln asked, shivering.

"This is the 2nd Circle of the Inferno - Lust," J.D. explained. "To this circle are condemned those who are total uh... You know."

"I think I get it," Linka said, disgusted.

They walked across a high bridge toward a tower when they noticed many forsaken souls.

J.D. started pointing out all of the different souls to them. "See her? That's Helen of Troy, the Queen of Troy. Very famous during the Trojan War. There's Semiramis the Queen of Assyria, Francesca da Polenta and Paolo Malatesta. There's Paris the King of Priam. There's Marc Antony, a Roman Politician who fell in Love with Cleopatra VII."

"That's right." Cleopatra VII stepped forward.

"Cleopatra VII, the Last of the Pharaohs and one of Egypt's Greatest Rulers," J.D. explained.

Cleopatra gave a nod of approval. "That's right, J.D. I lived a glorious life until 30 BC, when I was bitten by an asp."

"I read about that," J.D. admitted. "Your legacy lives on, and you continue to inspire people through books, art, literature, and entertainment."

"What was it like to be a ruler in Egypt?" Lincoln asked.

Cleopatra smiled as she remembered. "It was glorious, Lincoln. All of the power and royalty. It was amazing, but I let my lust control me."

"You're also one of my favorite Pharaoh's," Lincoln told her. "You made Egypt great."

Cleopatra nodded in agreement. "Yes, I did."

"Until the Battle of Actium wiped out everything you'd worked so hard for," J.D. explained.

"The Battle of Actium?" Linka asked.

"It was the battle that ended the Pharaoh's rule in 31 BC," J.D. explained.

Cleopatra sighed sadly. "Yes. I had lost everything back then. And now I'm sitting here in this tower."

"If I could, I would gladly bring you back to life so you could share your history with everyone," J.D. said.

"Thank you," Cleopatra said, looking gratefully at him.

"Thank you for taking the time to speak with us," Linka said, smiling.

"You're welcome," Cleopatra replied.

They kept moving forward.

The 3rd Circle of the Inferno - Gluttony

They were walking through a revolting landscape.

J.D. was trying to get rid of the smell by waving his hand over his face. "Ugh! This place reeks."

Lincoln agreed. "No kidding."

"It's as if I'm walking through my own intestines," Linka explained.

J.D. nodded. "Yeah. This is the 3rd Circle of the Inferno - Gluttony."

They then encounter the legendary Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards the gates of the Underworld in Greek mythology.

"What is that!" Lincoln exclaimed, looking at the Cerberus.

"That's Cerberus," J.D. explained. "The three-headed dog that guards this circle."

J.D., Lincoln, and Linka witnessed him savagely consuming many souls.

"I think I'm going to be sick," Lincoln said, his face turning green.

J.D. placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know it's unpleasant, but we have to stay strong. The true Circle of Gluttony is inside of Cerberus."

Linka groaned. "Oh, man. Well. Let's head in."

J.D. used the Force, and Cerberus opened up, allowing them to go inside him.

Inside was an extremely revolting, disgusting and gross place.

J.D. wrinkled his nose in disgust. "This is disgusting. I can't believe the types of punishments these people have to endure for the rest of their lives."

Lincoln nodded in agreement. "No kidding."

Someone approached them. "J.D., I've heard about everything you've done."

J.D. gaped as he recognized him. "I know you. You're Ciacco. An anonymous citizen from Florence, Italy."

Ciacco nodded. "That's right. Gluttony was my crime, and I'm here as skin and bones."

"That is just sick," J.D. spat in disgust. "I can't believe the Devil could be this evil and let all of you suffer like this. Let me try something."

J.D. approaches him and places his hand on his head, and a blinding white light envelopes him, bringing him back to life in his 13th-century attire.

J.D. was taken aback by what had just happened. "Wha? You've been brought back to life!"

Ciacco looked down and saw that J.D. was right and smiled widely. "I have!" He hugged him after that. "Thank you, J.D. You gave me a second chance at life."

J.D. smiled at him. "You're welcome, Ciacco. I didn't even know I had this kind of power."

As the ground began to shake, the forsaken screamed. A black shadowy figure appeared, its eyes glowing blue. It was the Devil, Lucifer himself in a shadow form.

Lucifer was glaring at him angrily. "How dare you set free the fallen!? They deserve torment for wasting their pitiful lives."

J.D. returned his glare. "So you're Lucifer."

"Yes I am," Lucifer replied.

"These people do not deserve this kind of suffering," J.D. said. "It's not fair."

"They deserve it because humans are demons," Lucifer explained.

That got a snort from J.D. "That's a lie. God created us in his own image. Sure, we're all flawed, but God gave us all challenges to overcome."

"God is the true evil, and his power over the world is waning," Lucifer declared.

"I don't believe you," J.D. responded.

Lincoln nodded in agreement. "Yeah. You've caused enough problems, and we'll put an end to it for good."

J.D. looked at him with narrowed eyes. "You better get ready for a fight, Lucifer, because that is exactly what you are going to get."

"We're not going to let you ruin our home any longer," Linka declared.

"You plagued our world that God gave us for far too long, Lucifer," J.D. said, narrowing his eyes. "And it'll come to an end."

Lucifer simply smirked in response. "Then you'd better get me."

He then vanished into thin air back into his lair.

They continued, and Ciacco was with them.

The 4th Circle of the Inferno - Greed

They ended up in some sort of factory.

Lincoln looked around and was astounded at what he was seeing. "Wow. There's a lot of gold in this place."

"No kidding," Linka agreed.

"What is this place?" Ciacco wondered.

"This is the 4th Circle - Greed," J.D. explained.

They witnessed countless souls being melted in molten gold, crushed and mutilated in a factory, and buried in massive piles of gold coins.

"Greed is a cardinal sin, and they say The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil," J.D. explained.

J.D. walked over to a pile of coins and discovered that the fallen were being buried in ancient Florence Crown coins. "These are Crown Coins, and we haven't used these in a long time."

When a hand reached out to J.D. as he reached for a coin, he jumped back.

"That's my gold!" yelled someone.

"Gessius Florus," J.D. explained, "you were a procurator known for your insatiable greed, and you were also the main cause of the Great Jewish Revolt back in the first century."

Gessius nodded. "That's right, J.D."

"People like you make me sick." J.D. punched him in the face and threw a fireball at him, making him fearfully run away.

Lincoln shook his head. "Boy, that guy was evil."

"No kidding," Linka agreed.

"I can't believe people care more about themselves than others," J.D. commented.

Lincoln nodded in agreement. "Yeah."

They continue their journey.

The 5th Circle of the Inferno - Anger

They were in a dark swamp of some sort.

"This place is bad," Lincoln observed as he looked around.

"We're in the 5th Circle - Anger," J.D. explained, "and this is the place for the Wrathful and Sullen."

"I can feel the rage flowing in here," Linka pointed out.

Ciacco nodded in agreement. "Me too."

"Don't let it get to you," J.D. cautioned them. "Stay strong."

They continue walking until they come across Tarpeia, the daughter of Spurius Tarpeius, who betrayed Rome to the Sabines and was crushed to death in a double crossing act.

They meet Hecuba, Queen of Troy, and arrive at the dock of the River Styx, also known as the River of Hate.

J.D. creates a force field bubble around them, and they float across it.

When they got to the other side, they saw another familiar face.

"Who are you that comes here before your time!" someone exclaimed.

J.D. regarded him with contempt. "Filippo Argenti. A politician from the 13th century who was known for his bad temper. You were opposed to Dante Alighieri's return and exiled him."

Filippo smirked. "That's right! Come here J.D. and face an enemy of Florence!"

"I don't think so," J.D. replied.

They continue on their way.

The 6th Circle of the Inferno - Heresy

They were walking through the Inferno's 6th Circle, Heresy.

They saw many tombs and countless heretics engulfed in flames everywhere they went.

Lincoln was sweating a little. "Wow. This place is extremely hot."

J.D. nodded. "Yeah. It's called the Tombs of Heresy."

"It's times like these that I'm glad I didn't do that," Ciacco said.

J.D. nodded in agreement. "Me too. I would never join an evil cult or anything like that."

Linka shook her head. "Me neither."

Along the way, they came across Emperor Frederick II. A king with an unquenchable lust for war.

They also ran into Cavalcante de Cavalcanti, an atheist who was labelled a heretic for his beliefs.

"Oh, brave people who walk through this place so decorously know that I am Farinata."

"Farinata degli Ubert," J.D. explained. "An Italian Aristocrat and member of an Epicurus Cult."

Farinata gave him a stony stare. "Know this: the fallen can predict the future but can never know the present. Your future J.D. is filled with death and destruction. Lucifer will rule the world forever, and you will be a part of it."

J.D. narrowed his eyes. "I wouldn't count on it." He shoots a beam of light at him, which causes him to explode.

"I don't like him at all," Ciacco stated.

The ground shook violently suddenly.

"What's going on?" Lincoln asked.

When he realized what was happening, J.D.'s eyes widened in horror. "It's the Harrowing! Jesus Christ's death forever quakes this circle. Let's go!"

They run as fast as they can out of the circle.

The 7th Circle of the Inferno - Violence

They've reached the 7th circle.

Lincoln stood staring at a raging river. "Whoa. That river looks fierce."

J.D. nodded. "Yes. We are in the 7th Circle - Violence. This circle is divided into three parts. Those who have used violence against others will forever be boiled in the blood they have shed. This is for those who have committed murder and other crimes."

"Boy, this is really scary," Linka said, shivering.

"Incredible," Ciacco exclaimed, staring in awe at the river.

J.D. created a force field bubble, which they used to cross the Phlegethon River.

While crossing the river, they see many people.

Alexander the Great was the greatest conqueror, whoever lived.

Dionysius I of Syracuse, a Sicilian Tyrant.

Attila the Hun, the Scourge of the Earth.

Timothy McVeigh was known for the Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995.

Napoleon Bonaparte, the 19th Century Conqueror.

Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the 16th Century Murderess

Peter the Great, the Tsar of Russia.

Ivan the Terrible, the 1st Tsar of Russia.

Vlad III of Walachia.

They also saw a lot more.

They arrive at a strange forest and proceed to walk through it.

"What is this forest?" Linka asked.

"This is the second part of the Seventh Circle," J.D. explained. "Those who have inflicted violence on themselves. This is the Wood of Suicides."

Lincoln breaks a twig by accident while walking.

"Why do you break me? Have you no pity?"

"Bella Abati?" Ciacco asked.

Bella nodded. "Yes, Ciacco. I, too, am one of the Forsaken."

"Who is Bella Abati?" Lincoln asked.

"She's Dante Alighieri's mother," J.D. explained. "When a soul takes its own life, Minos condemns it to this circle. It sprouts and grows like a sapling here. No body. There is only pain." But then J.D. wondered about something that puzzled him. "But, Bella, from what I remember, you died of a disease."

Bella shook her head. "No, J.D. I despised Alighiero's cruelty, but I was too weak to stand up to him. So I took my... I can tell you've all grown stronger, and you now have the power to destroy Lucifer."

J.D. agreed with a nod. "I know. I want to make him pay for causing eons of death, destruction, and sin."

"You have a strong and pure heart, J.D.," Bella said with a smile.

"I'm going to restore you and give you a second chance." J.D. placed his hand on her head, and she was enveloped in a blinding white light, and she was fully restored.

"I am fully restored? How?" Bella asked in disbelief and awe.

J.D. shook his head. "I don't know exactly myself. But I somehow have the power to restore the dead."

Bella thanked him and hugged him. "Thank you, J.D. You gave me a second chance."

"You're welcome, Bella," J.D. replied.

They continue onward, eventually arriving in a desert filled with ancient ruins and fire raining down from the sky.

"Are we still in the Seventh Circle?" Lincoln asked.

J.D. nodded. "Yes. This is the third part, The Abominable Sands. Here is where the fallen rebelled against God."

They all felt a slight earthquake and saw multiple Crusaders from over 1,000 years ago rise from the sand.

"It's the Crusaders from 1,000 years ago," J.D. realized.

"But why are they being punished?" Bella asked.

"They believed the Crusades were being carried out in the name of God," J.D. explained.

A blast of sand erupted from the ground, and a figure emerged. "The Bishop lied. Did he not J.D.?"

J.D. narrowed his eyes. "Francesco Portinaro, I presume?"

"God never approves of any form of violence. There was no holy war. Don't you understand? The priests lied," Francesco explained.

J.D. sighed and rolled his eyes. "Francesco, I've known that for years. But how did you end up down here?"

Francesco was glaring at him. "It was you! You did this to me!"

"Hey, I wasn't even born a thousand years ago!" J.D. retorted.

Francesco was not convinced. "You do not deserve the life that has been given to you. You don't deserve anything. And now you will join us here, where you belong, for the rest of your life!"

Francesco drew his sword from its sheath and charged at him.

A white light shines down on J.D., and a sword appears in front of him.

"Take it," a voice said.

When J.D. took the sword, he felt an incredible increase in power. A massive golden yellow light erupts from him, and when it fades, he has a golden yellow aura, golden yellow hair, and ocean blue eyes.

J.D. felt stronger. "I... I feel incredible. What is this power surging through me?"

"J.D. What happened to you?" Lincoln asked, concerned.

J.D. shook his head. "I don't know Lincoln."

J.D. and Francesco clashed, and J.D.'s sword slashed through him and slashed off his head, causing blood to splash out of him.

"Whoa," J.D. exclaimed in awe.

Francesco and the Crusaders disintegrated into the sand.

"Well, that was close." He reverts to normal and becomes tired.

Lincoln and Linka came to him, worried.

"Are you alright, J.D.?" Lincoln asked.

J.D. nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay. I'm not sure how it happened, but I somehow got a massive power boost."

"You were incredible, J.D.," Bella remarked.

They continue on their journey.

The 8th Circle of the Inferno - Fraud

They are now in the 8th Circle - Fraud.

"What is this circle?" Bella wondered.

"This is the Circle of Fraud," J.D. explained.

"Fraud?" Lincoln asked, wondering what it meant.

"It means you lied and cheated to get what you wanted," J.D. explained.

"Boy, this circle looks awful," Linka pointed out.

J.D. nodded. "Yeah. This circle has 10 parts. Everyone stay with me."

They walked around the circle, stopping at every point.

The parts are as follows:

1) Panderers and Seducers - This is where prostitutes and people who gratify distasteful desires or habits of such a person go.

2) Flatterers - People that give excessive and insincere praise are stewed in filth.

3) Simonists - People who buy or sell pardons or benefits are burned alive after being buried upside-down with their feet sticking up.

4) Diviners - Fortune tellers walk around with their heads turned backwards.

5) Grafters - Corrupted Politicians are boiled in black tar.

6) Hypocrites - People who claim to have moral standards to which their behavior does not conform and walk around the 6th part wearing super heavy lead cloaks.

7) Thieves - Thieves are constantly attacked by snakes.

8) Evil Counselors are completely engulfed in flames and can only communicate through fire.

9) Sowers of Discord - They walk around with horrifying, disfiguring wounds inflicted by a demon wielding a sword.

Finally, 10) True Falsifiers - They are subjected to various punishments and use disease.

They were able to escape the 8th circle.

The 9th Circle of the Inferno - Treachery

They have arrived at the 9th circle.

"Why is it so cold?" Lincoln wondered, shivering.

"We've reached the 9th Circle of the Inferno-Treachery," J.D. explained. "This is home to the Traitors. The ice represents Lucifer's tears for being cast out of Heaven. This circle is made up of four parts."

Linka was trembling with fear. "Whoa. This place is scary."

"It'll be fine, Linka," Bella reassured her.

"We're not going to let anything happen to you," Ciacco promised.

"All right, let's go," J.D. said to the group.

They walked through Caina, the first part of the 9th circle. It is named after Cain, who killed his brother Abel. Here are those who have betrayed their families and saw lost souls encased in ice up to their faces.

They walked through the 2nd part - Antenora. It is named after the Trojan General Antenor, who betrayed Troy to the Greeks even after they had ransomed him from the Greek Army. These are the people who betrayed their homelands. They encounter the Legend's frozen giants. Nimrod, the builder of the Tower of Babel, and Ephialtes of Trachis, betrayed Greece hoping to receive a reward from the Persians. And Antaeus, Mother Earth's invincible son.

They walk through the third section, Ptolomea. They were named after Ptolomy, son of Abubis, who invited Simon Maccabaeus and his sons to a banquet and then killed them. These are the people who betrayed their guests.

They proceed to the fourth section, Judecca. It was named after Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus Christ. Here are those who betrayed lords, masters, and benefactors.

They soon arrive at the 9th circle's center pit, where they find LUCIFER HIMSELF! He was a monstrous creature with six bat wings and three faces.

Lucifer greeted them. "Welcome, great J.D. Welcome to your final resting place: The Circle of Traitors."

J.D. narrowed his eyes. "We'll have to see about that."

J.D. draws his sword from its sheath and flies up, slashing him in half.

"What have you done to me?" Lucifer exclaimed in horror.

When Lucifer fell, they thought J.D. had won. But then a growth appeared on Lucifer and cracked open, revealing his true form. He was an ancient, muscular, and supernaturally tall humanoid demon with black skin and glowing scars all over his body. He had two large horns on his head, small spikes on his shoulders and chest, and glowing red/orange/yellow eyes. He wore a serpent-shaped bronze/gold armlet on his right arm, and his legs resembled those of a goat (similar to a satyr). His angelic wings had been severed, leaving only smoking stumps, and he was extremely endowed.

"So this is your true form," J.D. commented.

Lucifer just smirked. "That's right. Thank you, J.D. I'm very impressed. Many have tried, and many have failed me. Ulysses, Alexander, Attila, Lancelot, you truly are the greatest of all my minions."

J.D. shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I don't serve you."

"You freed me from my eternal torment," Lucifer declared.

"This was supposed to be something for a school report," J.D. explained.

Lucifer nodded, as if he understood. "Oh, yes. Knowledge is important. But it was you I was after all along. Don't you see? God bound me in this frozen pit. Only my shadow self was allowed to roam. It took a mortal to set me free. That was you."

J.D. raised an eyebrow in response to his explanation. "So you lured us here? Hmm. Impressive. But like I said before, I'm going to make you pay for wreaking so much havoc and destruction on the very planet God gave us. It's time for me to destroy you, Lucifer."

Lucifer got angry at that. "Destroy an Angel of God? You arrogant gnat!"

He created a fire whip. "Such vanity. Such pride. I could have killed you the moment you stepped into this place."

J.D. slashed the whip and severed Lucifer's right leg before kicking him.

He hits the ice wall with a thud.

Lucifer notices J.D.'s sword. "That's the Sword of Michael!"

"Is that what this sword is?" J.D. asked, looking at his sword with interest.

Lucifer nodded. "Yes, it is God's most powerful weapon."

"Now I know," J.D. said, "Archangel Michael leads God's Angel Army."

He slashes Lucifer's left arm, both eyes out, and stabs him right through the heart.

"That's for everything you've done!" yelled J.D.

J.D. spreads his wings and activates his Golden Yellow Aura, turning his hair yellow and his sword white as he flies towards Lucifer.

"It's time for your corruption and terror to end!"

He was brimming with so much power that it was unbelievable, and he slashes Lucifer's head clean off before exploding into absolutely nothing.

Lucifer, the Devil and the Enemy of the Universe, was forever destroyed.

Lincoln, Linka, Ciacco, and Bella all gave him a standing ovation.

J.D. powers down, and it's over. "Come on, guys. Let's go home."

A vortex appears and sucks them in, and the exercise is over.

Lincoln and Linka returned home two days later with A+ grades on their reports.

They made J.D. proud.

Ciacco and Bella are now living in his mansion.

THE END.
