Day: Bar

Mabel, Wendy, and Dipper are at a bar, sitting at a table as they see Joan Rivers making fun of the Iron Woman suit on TV. Mabel sits beside Dipper on his right as Wendy sits on Dipper's left, across from Mabel.

Mabel explains to them, "It tested well with focus groups, all right?"

Dipper, putting on a mocking voice, says, "I am Captain Iron Woman!" Wendy chuckles at his voice.

Wendy sips her coke and tells Mabel, "It sucks."

Mabel defines, "Listen. 'War Machine' was a little too aggressive. All right? This sends a better message."

Dipper pauses before asking earnestly, "So what's going on? With the Mandarin." Mabel sips her drink, "Seriously, can we talk about this guy?" Dipper takes off his sunglasses and leans closer to Mabel. Wendy crosses her arms and leans on the table to hear better as Dipper moves closer to Mabel.

Mabel tells Dipper, "It's classified information, Dipper." She glances at Wendy, who gives her a look as Dipper waits, "Okay, there have been nine bombings."

Dipper mutters, "Nine."

Mabel continues, "The public only knows about three. Here's the thing, nobody can ID a device. There are no bomb casings."

Dipper tells Mabel, "You know we can help. Just ask. We got a ton of new tech. We both got a prehensile suit." He stutters a bit, "I got a... I got a bomb disposal. It catches explosions in mid-air." Mabel looks at Wendy, who gestures to Dipper with her eyes worried.

Mabel nods at Wendy and listens to Dipper before asking, "When's the last time you got a good night's sleep?"

Dipper answers the question differently, "Einstein slept three hours a year. Look what he did?" Mabel sighs. Dipper turns to Wendy accusingly, "Wendy. What do you say?"

Wendy looks at Dipper innocently, "What?" Dipper gives her semi-hard expression, "I said nothing."

Mabel defends Wendy, "People are concerned about you, Dipper. I'm concerned about you."

Dipper asks, "You're gonna come at me like that?"

Mabel tells Dipper, "No, look, I'm not trying to be a dick..." She sees a girl and a boy come up to their table. Mabel finishes, "...tator."

The girl asks Dipper and Wendy, "Do you mind signing my drawings?"

Wendy smiles at the girl, "Of course." She looks at the drawing of herself in the Ruby suit and signs her name on it.

Dipper says sarcastically and enthusiastically, "If my sister doesn't mind." He looks and says to Mabel, "You alright with this, Dick?" Wendy chuckles at Dipper's joke.

Mabel chuckles and answers, "Yeah. Fine with me."

Dipper looks at the drawing of himself in his Iron Man suit the girl has drawn and asks, "What's your name?"

The girl answers with a smile, "Erin." Wendy writes some more before finishing.

Wendy tells Erin with a smile, "Here you go, Erin."

Eren smiles happily, "Thank you."

Wendy tells Erin, "You're welcome, sweetie." She gives Erin a side hug.

Dipper looks at the boy standing next to him, "I loved you in 'A Christmas Story', by the way." The boy looks at him unamused, and Dipper signs Erin's drawing.

Mabel leans over to Dipper and speaks lowly, and Wendy can still hear, "Listen, the Pentagon is scared. After New York, aliens... come on. They need to look strong. Stopping the Mandarin is a priority, but it's not..." She trails off.

Dipper fills in, tense, "It's not superhero business."

Mabel tells Dipper, "No, it's not, frankly." Mabel glances at Wendy, who has a neutral expression.

Wendy tells Mabel, "We get it."

Mabel tells them, "It's American business."

Dipper tells Mabel, "That's why she said we... got it." As Dipper's signing the drawing, he breaks the crayon he's using, and suddenly, he looks ill and places his hand on his face and exhales sharply.

Wendy leans closer to Dipper in worry, "Are you okay?"

Dipper mutters to them, "I broke the crayon." Mabel places a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Erin asks Dipper, "Are you okay, Mr. Pines?"

Mabel looks around and says, "Take it easy. Dipper…" Dipper suddenly inhales sharply.

The little boy leans closer and whispers to Dipper, "How did you get out of the wormhole?" At that, Dipper rises from his chair and starts walking off.

Mabel shouts to Dipper, "Wait a minute! Dipper!"

Dipper faintly asks, "What did you say?!"

Wendy grabs her bag and Dipper's glasses and follows Dipper, "Dipper!" She and Mabel follow Dipper as he walks out of the bar.

Outside

Dipper is holding his chest as he inhales sharply and bumps into a couple of people, "Sorry." He walks over to his 'parked' Iron Man suit on the street and says breathlessly, "I'm just checking on the suit." The back of the suit opens up, and Dipper walks towards it, "Okay." He then steps into his Iron Man suit and stumbles before falling on one knee, facing the ground.

Inside: Dipper's Iron Man Suit

Dipper orders JARVIS as he stutters, "Check the heart, check the... check the... Is it the brain?"

JARVIS answers, "No sign of cardiac anomaly or unusual brain activity."

Dipper asks JARVIS, "Okay, so I was poisoned?"

JARVIS tells Dipper, "My diagnosis is that you've experienced a severe anxiety attack."

Dipper blinks in surprise, "Me?"

Outside: Dipper's Iron Man Suit

Mabel's kneeling in front of Dipper's suit and knocks on the suit's head as people have gathered around them, watching Dipper, "Come on, bro, this isn't a good look. Open up."

Dipper's voice tells Mabel as he gently pushes her back, "Sorry, I gotta split." Dipper then flies off in his suit.

Mabel turns to Wendy, "What the hell was that?" She walks up to her. People go back to their businesses.

Wendy sighs worriedly and lightly shakes her head, "I don't know."

Mabel looks at the time on her phone, "Shit." Wendy looks at her, concerned, and Mabel looks at her apologetically, "I'm sorry, Wendy. I have to go. I got a meeting with someone up in New York."

Wendy nods in understanding, "I understand. I'll see you later." They hug each other goodbye, and Wendy watches as Mabel climbs into her car and drives off.

Pines Industries

At Pines Industries, Soos Ramirez points to his badge as he walks through the lobby, passing the other employees, "Badge... badge... Come on, badge. Badge, guys. I put a memo in the toilet. Come on."

Pacifica Northwest walks into the building and walks towards Pacifica, "Hey, Soos." He gives her a semi-glare. Pacifica sighs before saying lowly, "You can be mad at me all you want, but it doesn't make a difference that I'm doing my job." As she talks, she passes him, and he follows beside her.

Soos asks Pacifica as they walk, "Well Northwest-wait, is it Northwest or Pacifica? Cause I'm a little confused about what to call you."

Pacifica tells Soos, "It's Pacifica."

Soos responds as he rolls his eyes, "Okay... Pacifica." He says her name sarcastically. Pacifica sighs and shakes her head expectedly.

Different Floor

A few minutes later, Soos is talking to Pacifica, referring to Dipper's robots as Candy Chiu walks with them, "Dipper has got them in his basement. They're wearing party hats. This is an asset that we can put to use." He was holding an iPad in his hands.

Pacifica mutters, "Uh-huh."

Candy asks Soos as she signs something for a woman who walks up to them, "So, you're suggesting that I replace the entire janitorial staff with robots?" She hands the pen back and says, "Thank you." The woman walks away.

Soos tells them, "I'm saying that the human element of human resources is our biggest point of vulnerability. We should start phasing it out immediately." Both Pacifica and Candy exchange a confused look before turning to Soos as he walks a few steps ahead.

Pacifica asks as she narrows her eyes, confused, "What!?"

Soos says to another employee as he walks past them, "Excuse me, Bambi."

Candy continues, also confused, as Soos points his badge to the employee, "Did you just say that?"

Soos tells the employee, "Security?" Soos stops outside Pacifica's office.

Pacifica walks up to Soos and stands before him, "Soos."

Soos looks at Pacifica, "Yes."

Pacifica says as she gestures to her and Candy beside them with her hand, "Okay, we are thrilled that you're now the head of security, okay? It is the perfect position for you."

Soos smiles, "Thank you."

Candy adds for Pacifica, "However-"

Soos look between both women, "I appreciate it."

Candy continues, "-since you've taken the post..."

Soos tells them, still smiling, "You don't have to thank me."

Pacifica finishes bluntly, "-we've had a rise in staff complaints of 300%."

Soos nods, "Thank you."

Pacifica looks at Soos as she says nonchalantly, "That's not a compliment."

Soos disagrees, "That's not a compli-? It is a compliment! Somebody's trying to hide something."

Pacifica nods to say something but gets interrupted, "I-"

Wendy runs to them in a hurry, "Sorry I'm late. It's just this thing with Dipper, and it's... nevermind." She looked in her bag, a little frantic.

Pacifica smiles in reassurance, "It's okay. Everything has been calm here."

Wendy stops looking in her bag and breathes out in relief, "Oh, thank goodness." Pacifica and Candy sigh quietly and look away. Wendy notices and feels guilty, "I'm sorry, it just... I've been distracted and focused on work lately, and it's... making me a little crazy." She says the last sentence very lowly for nobody to hear.

Pacifica jokes, "A little?" They pause for a moment before they both start laughing.

An assistant walks up to them, "Excuse me."

Pacifica, Wendy, and Candy turn to the assistant, saying, "Yes?"

The assistant, a little taken back by the three before telling Wendy, "Miss Corduroy, your ride is here."

Wendy, remembering she has to go somewhere, "Oh, right." She looks at the assistant and says, "Thank you." The assistant walks away, and Wendy turns to Pacifica pleadingly, "Pacifica, do you mind, cause I have a place I need to go to." Wendy looked at her bag again for her phone.

Pacifica shakes it off, willing to help and know where Wendy's supposed to go and ready to take care of it, "It's okay, I got it."

Wendy, feeling guilty, asks, hating to put Pacifica in this type of position, even though she's been doing this for years now, "You sure?"

Pacifica smiles and nods reassuringly, "Yes. Go."

Wendy tells Pacifica, "Okay, I'll be back in a couple of days, and then I will take over for you, I promise. Thank you." Pacifica smiles softly, knowing that Wendy's been very stressed out lately.

Soos asks Wendy before she gets to walk away, "Do you want me to go with you? I got a security badge." Wendy gives him a look.

Pacifica tells Wendy, "Wendy, go." Wendy nods thankfully and walks away.
