Same Day: Dipper's House
Inside: Garage / Workshop
Pacifica and Mabel walk down the stairs to Dipper's lab/workshop, seeing Dipper is, in fact, not in his Iron Man suit but in the lab exercising as he remotely controls the suit with a headset. The suit follows both ladies into the lab.
Dipper straining as he pushes himself up on a pull-up bar, "At least let me get you like a Hazmat suit or a Geiger counter or something like that." Pacifica and Mabel walk in, "Busted." He jumps down and turns to face them.
Mabel says as she pushes away the plate of food when a robot holds it out to her, "This is a new level of lame." She's looking at Dipper with a stern expression.
Dipper apologizes, "Sorry." Pacifica looks at her son playing in his playpen on her left.
Pacifica then notices the food tray in the corner and looks at Dipper, exclaiming, "You ate without us, already? On family night?"
Dipper refers to Mark 42 suit beside Mabel on her right as she stands on Pacifica's right, "He was just..."
Pacifica snaps as she points to Dipper, "You mean you?"
Dipper comes up with an excuse, "Well, yeah. I mean, we were... just hosting you..." Mabel scoffs in disbelief, "...while I finished up a little work."
Pacifica mutters in disbelief, "Uh-huh."
Dipper tells them straight-forward, "And yes, I had a quick bite. I didn't know if you two were coming here or if you were having drinks with Bill Cipher."
Mark 42's suit turns its face toward both women as if to look at them accusingly. Pacifica's mouth drops open, and she turns to face the suit weirdly as she asks it defensively, "What?"
Dipper repeats, "What?" The suit turns and walks away from them.
Pacifica asks, now mad, "Bill Cipher? What are you checking up on me?"
With his arms crossed, Dipper shrugs, "Soos was concerned."
Pacifica exclaims, "No, you're spying on me."
Dipper shakes his head, "I wasn't..."
Pacifica shakes her head in disbelief, "I'm going to bed." Pacifica turns and starts walking off as Mabel looks annoyed and walks closer to look down at her nephew.
Dipper pleads to Pacifica, "Hold on. Come on. Pacifica?" As Pacifica walks upstairs, Dipper shouts, holding his hand up in surrender, "Hey, I admit it! My fault. Sorry." Pacifica stops and looks at him. Mabel straightens up and looks over at Dipper as he looks between them, "I'm a piping hot mess." He lowers his arms down to his sides, then crosses his arms a second later, "It's been going on for a while. I have said nothing." Pacifica walks back down, "Nothing's been the same since New York."
Pacifica says sarcastically, "Oh really? Well, I didn't notice that at all." She stands at the door frame.
Dipper tells them, "You experience things, and then they're over, and you still can't explain them. Gods, aliens, other dimensions. I... I'm just a man in a can." He uncrosses his arms and walks to the side, gestures to Pacifica with his hands together, "The only reason I haven't cracked up is probably that you moved in, which is great. I love you. I'm lucky." He stops walking, "But, honey, I can't sleep. You go to bed. I come down here." He gestures to the surrounding lab, "I do what I know, I tinker..." He sighs and pauses for a moment. He sits/leans on a tiny stand behind him, "Threat is imminent, and I have to protect the one thing that I can't live without. That's you, my family." He points around at Pacifica, Mabel, and Phillip, "My suits, they're uh..." He trails off as he struggles to say.
Pacifica finishes his sentence, "Machines."
Dipper exclaims quickly, "But they're part of me."
Mabel corrects him, "A distraction." She looks down, knowing she's been doing it herself, and doesn't want to admit it.
Dipper looks back and forth to Mabel and Pacifica, "Maybe." Pacifica pushes off the door frame she was leaning on and walks towards Dipper, standing in front of him as he stares at her lovingly. She softly runs her hands up his shoulders to his neck, and he leans his head down to her chest. She closes her eyes as she hugs his head while his hands wrap around her, and they hold each other for a moment or two.
Mabel smiles a small smile, happy that her brother has found someone who truly understands and gets him, hoping to find that herself one day. Pacifica pulls away and removes Dipper's headset, putting it down as he lifts his head, still looking at her lovingly.
With her hands on Dipper's neck softly, Pacifica tells him lowly so Mabel doesn't hear, "I'm gonna take a shower."
Dipper tells Pacifica, "Okay." Pacifica turns around and walks off as Dipper gives her a confused expression. She then stops at the door frame and looks at him.
Pacifica, with a faint devilish smirk, says, "And you're gonna join me."
Dipper taps the stand he's leaning on excitedly, nodding, and says, "Better."
Pacifica smiles at Dipper's reaction and turns to Mabel, "Mabel, do you mind feeding and putting Phillip to bed?"
Mabel smiles at Pacifica and Dipper, who joins Pacifica at the door, "Sure, not a problem. I didn't get some quality time with him today."
Pacifica thanks Mabel as she's getting touched by the waist towards the stairs by Dipper, "Thank you, Mabel." She lightly taps Dipper on the shoulder and says playfully, "Stop that." Both of them walk up the stairs.
Mabel shakes her head and turns back to her nephew, "Let's go, kiddo." She leans down, picks Phillip up, places him on her left hip, then grabs the toy she gave him and heads towards the stairs.
Shower
(Inaudible) Pacifica turns on the shower to hot and stands under the water, her eyes closed as the water runs down her body, wetting her hair and pushing it back, away from her eyes.
Pacifica doesn't see Dipper walk up behind her, and he startles her a bit when he wraps his arms around her body, holding her close, and kisses her shoulder. Pacifica smiles and holds his arms that's around her body, rolling her head to the side as he kisses up the left side of her neck.
Dipper then gently turns Pacifica around to face him, kissing her with much love and passion. He has one hand on her lower back, pulling her close, and the other hand on her cheek/side of her head. Pacifica kisses him back with the same passion. She has one hand on the back of his neck, running her hand through his hair and the other hand is under his arm, holding his shoulder. Then she slowly grazes her hand down his back.
Both share their love for each other by being in each other's arms and being close.
Night: Dipper and Pacifica's Room
Later that night, Dipper and Pacifica are sleeping, a baby monitor screen beside the bed showing Phillip as he's sleeping in his crib. Dipper sweats and gasps while having a nightmare about the time he was in New York with The Avengers and had to get rid of the nuke in space.
(FLASHBACK [THE CARTOON AVENGERS: Chapter 16]) - Dipper/Iron Man and Wendy/Ruby flies up towards the portal in the sky, and the Chitauri army sees them and starts blasting their energy rifles at them. They dodge the blasts and fire themselves at the Chitauri.
Present Time - Dipper flinches/jumps, gasping loudly as he sleeps, waking up Pacifica with his sudden movements.
(FLASHBACK [TCA: Chapter 21]) - Dipper/Iron Man guides a nuke bomb, flies up, and goes through the portal.
(FLASHBACK [TCA: Chapter 21]) - Inside Dipper's Iron Man suit; Dipper, unable to breathe with no air as he stares up, the communications flicker along with Pacifica's picture/call on his screen.
(FLASHBACK [TCA: Chapter 21]) - Dipper/Iron Man free falling out of the sky after the portal closes.
Present Time - Dipper is holding his pillow tightly, flinches/jumps again, his eyes closed, squeezing tightly as he continues his nightmare.
(Flashback - Earlier/In the Shower) - Pacifica looks at Dipper lovingly as she stands close to Dipper, her hair wet and steam from the hot water behind her.
(FLASHBACK [TCA: Chapter 21]) - Dipper/Iron Man continues to free fall towards the city.
Present Time - Dipper shudders in his sleep. Pacifica's more alarmed by his movements and sits up. She leans over and shakes Dipper to wake up, "Dipper." He groans, "Dipper." He whimpers, "Dipper." He continues to whimper, not waking up, "Di-" She suddenly gets grabbed and shoved off Dipper by the Mark 42 suit. She gasps, and in reflex, she punches the head of the suit, making a CLUNK sound.
This wakes Dipper up, and he quickly shoves the covers off, sits up and goes to his knees on the bed, holds out his hand, and commands the suit, "Power down!" The suit lets go of Pacifica, stands straight, and shuts down. Dipper then hits it, making the pieces fall apart. He looks over at Pacifica, who is in shock and holding her hand that is red from punching the suit hard, both of them breathing heavily. She turns on the lamps, "I must have called it in my sleep. That's not supposed to happen." Pacifica, sitting up at the side of the bed, "I'll recalibrate the sensors. Can we just... Just let me... Just let me catch my breath, okay?" Holding her hand in shock/pain, Pacifica rises from the bed and leaves. Dipper faces Pacifica and pleads, "Don't go, alright? Pacifica?"
Pacifica tells Dipper, "I'm going to get ice downstairs. Then I'm going to check on Phillip. Tinker with that." Pacifica leaves the room. Dipper leans back and looks at the pieces of his Iron Man suit on the floor.
Same Night: Los Angeles
Outside: Chinese Theater
At the Chinese theater in Los Angeles, a man named Nate sits down, looking at his dog tags in his hands. Bill's henchwoman, Giffany, walks up to meet him.
Giffany looks around, then asks Nate, "Can you regulate?"
Nate answers as he looks up at Giffany, "Yes, I can regulate."
Giffany questions Nate, "Are you sure about that?"
Nate answers Giffany, "Yes."
Soos, who's been following Giffany, trying on some sunglasses, and looks through the mirror at Giffany. He's monitoring her from a distance. He adjusts the mirror better and sees Giffany placing a briefcase beside Nate. Nate glances down at the case before looking back up at Giffany.
Giffany tells Nate, "It's a decent batch." Nate chuckles, and Giffany smiles, "Don't say I did nothing for you."
Nate says gratefully, "Thank you." Giffany nods and walks away, "I mean, for understanding." Giffany does a short nod and walks off. Soos, without the sunglasses, then turns and walks towards Francis.
After Nate looks inside and closes the briefcase, he rises to leave and Soos 'accidentally' bumps into him, which knocks the briefcase out of Nate's hand, falling open onto the ground.
Soos says halfheartedly, "I'm sorry, buddy." Soos helps him put the stuff back in the suitcase, and as he looks at Nate, he notices Nate's veins in his left cheek are glowing red. Soos then stands up and walks off.
