Chapter: Of Family Too

After they finished and disposed of their trash, Dean took hold of Zabuza's hand and held his hand out for Sakura to take who gladly accepted. Haku took hold of Sasuke's arm with both of his while Sam grunted when Naruto jumped on his back as Kakashi took the rear with a smile and hands held behind his back.
Walking back into town, Naruto was vibrating with unconcealed excitement that Sam was literally shaking with his passenger too.
"I bet we'll win all sorts of prizes. Dean's a good shot"
"I bet he's not as good as us" Naruto laughed
"Want to bet?" said Dean as he turned his head back to smirk at the blonde then dropped it when he saw a sly grin from the blonde and Sasuke spoke before Naruto could accept that bet:
"Do not under any, ANY circumstances, make bets with this blonde dobe" pointing at Naruto as everyone nodded "You'll lose your money, your pride and dignity" again everyone nodded "So, if you are thinking of going ahead to make a bet with the dobe: Don't. He'll eat you alive and spit out your bones" everyone hummed in agreement.
"You sounds like you speak from experience" Sam asked and felt the blonde on his back quietly snigger into his shoulder.
"No comment" Sasuke said and just knew that Kakashi was smiling at the back of his head.
As they walked Haku gave directions to a quaint little shop between two big buildings and as they push open the door a little bell jingled their arrival.
"I'll be right there" called a voice from the back and the back was way in the back.
The shop looked small from the outside but the inside was another story. The width was about 20 feet but the length looked endless with rows over rows over rows up on the walls and the middle had a long line all the way to the endless end. Kakashi whistled as Zabuza lead everyone down the long path to the counter at the end and behind that was an open doorway where the voice must of came from.
The kids were amazed at all the colors and if they looked closely, they could see the barely concealed excitement in Haku's eyes.
Zabuza then turned to their group with two words "Spread out" and they did, with Haku gone first.
Naruto stayed on Sam's back as they looked around the little big shop while Zabuza and Kakashi stayed in the front by the counter watching their kids searched while waiting for the voice to come.
A moment later they heard foot steps coming out then a voice.
"Sorry dearies for the wait. How can I help?" an older woman with glasses and grey hair came out. She wore a nice light brown kimono that goes with her eyes and a kind smile. Zabuza approves and nods to the little lady.
"We were" he started then a voice called out and they all turned their heads to the voice.
Holding up a beautiful kimono with all the colors they wanted shaped into small swirls all over the fabric and black borders around the edges, making the other colors much more pronounced. Haku ran over to the adults jumping with glee.
"Never mind, we found it" Zabuza said as he took the robe from the excited boy and showed the shop owner. "Do you have this for all of us?"
The lady smiled and nodded before running back through the same way she came in.
"Let me see, let me see!" Naruto jumped off Sam and ran over while everyone else walked.
"It's perfect!" Sakura exclaimed as she studied the robe and Haku preened at her praise.
"Lets hope she has one for each of us" Sasuke said as he took Naruto's hand.
"That I do dearie" said the elder woman as she comes back with a load of bundles in her arms of the same kimono they wanted and deposited on the counter. Then coming around said counter she headed to a wall of curtain the group didn't noticed and when she opened it up they saw three big mirrors with a small short podium. The lady then turned, whipped out her measure tape, pushed her glasses up her nose and smiled:
"Whose first?" she asks the group.
"Me! Me!" yells the blonde as he untangles his hand from Sasuke and jump up on the podium, ready for instructions. The lady smiles at him as she once more pushed up her glasses and snapped her tape, making Naruto giggle.
As the blonde got measure, Haku took Sakura's hand and tugged her away. "Lets find some accessories while the guys get measured" Sakura gleefully nodded as they went looking for the accessory section, with the careful eye of two adults of course, and both giggles when they saw the large selections on hair accessories.
"Girls?" everyone froze but the lady didn't notice or cared that she used the wrong pronoun. The lady stood and turned to see Sakura and Haku staring at her: "Just hair accessories for this lot, any more then it'll take the glamour of the design from the kimono and you all do want to look nice, yes?" She smiled then went back to measuring.
The squad, the boys, and the two stood staring at the lady. The squad had been with the two since the beginning and never once brought up the subject of what to call Haku and so stuck with what they knew Haku was comfortable with.
Haku, for a lack of a better word, was flabbergasted. By just that one word from a lady they didn't know, completely tilted their world on it's sides and they are all just barely hanging on. Haku snorted a laugh and when all eyes set on him, he laughed at their expressions. Sakura realized how dumb this all seemed so she giggled along with Haku.
Zabuza smiled at them "You heard the lady, girls. Don't go over board because some of us actually have shorter hair" and not so discreetly pointed at Dean that had Haku and Sakura laughing.
"I heard that and I'll have you know I can style any type of hair and that includes my own" Dean said proudly.
"Me too!" Naruto said as he got off the podium and went to stand next to Dean "Had to practice a lot growing up just to get it right" a hand patted his shoulder as Sasuke walked by for his turn.
"And his work is perfect" Sasuke praised the blonde as he stood on the podium, waiting for the lady to finish writing down the measurements.
"Dean's pretty good too. I'd let him practice on mine if he promises not to trim it" Dean smirked at his brother.
"Could never sneak in a pair of scissors without Sammy sniffing them out" Sam smiled.
"We should really talk about hair styles" Sakura suggested as she took some ribbons
"Yes, like day wear and evening wear" Haku added as he took some hair clips.
"Speaking of wear: these can be for the evening and we can go casual during the day for the rides and games" Kakashi said and watched as the blonde's eyes lit up when he mentioned rides and games.
"Yeah, we have to make time to do everyone's hair" Sakura nodded her head
"I'll do Sam's so Dean doesn't have a chance to go near him with scissors" Haku said and heard Sam snigger as Dean rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Dean can do the dobe first then he can do Dean's so that way they will both be the first to be free while Sakura does Haku's when he's doing Sam's" Sasuke said as he stepped off the podium thinking out loud to the group, Sam took his turn up on it.
"And we'll let Sasuke schedule in everyone" Zabuza said as he patted the boy's head while said boy mumbled about who does what to whom and a finger under his chin as he had his thinking face on.
"Good, teme can figure that out" Naruto said then headed over to Haku and Sakura, looking through the accessories, picking out a few himself that would look good on everyone.
"Zabuza?" Said man turn to see Dean nervously biting his lips. Zabuza waved him over and lifted the boy's chin up as Kakashi watched from his side and lifted a brow in question for the boy.
"What if" he quietly trailed off then tried again after taking a deep breath "What if someone recognized me?" Dean whispered. Zabuza smiled, tapped the boy's chin and shared a look with Kakashi who smiled back and went behind the boy. Both men wrapped their arms around Dean and each other, Kakashi's chin on Dean's shoulder while Zabuza's was on his head. They held him until he relaxed in the hold and when he did, Kakashi spoke:
"You will always be within arms length of either me or him. All you have to worry about tomorrow is having fun and winning" Dean chuckled then Zabuza kissed his head
"Just don't wonder off without us"
"Not going to happen" Sam said as he appeared by their side. "I'll have both eyes on him when he gets distracted by all the shiny lights" a kick aimed for his shins but missed when Sam side stepped with a laugh. Zabuza and Kakashi nuzzled the boy before letting him go for his turn on the measurement block as Sam went to the others and picked out a little bow tie hair clip from the selections.
"Now this belongs to Dean" he showed the others who nodded and agreed, adding it to their little small pile.
Suddenly they heard a high pitched squeal and all heads turned to see Dean doubled over and laughing with the lady smiling fondly at him.
"Ah! We have a ticklish one" and poked Dean's sides, making him giggle out loud.
"That reminds me of a time when Roxanne had me measured for a new set of wardrobe by one of her tailors" Naruto said as he smiled at a laughing Dean.
"Roxanne?" Sam asked but Zabuza butted in.
"She got you a whole wardrobe?" the blonde nodded at the man as he continued to giggle at Dean's infectious laughter as Zabuza thought about what he said but a voice interrupted.
"Papa?" Sam asked quietly as he went to the man and both Zabuza and Kakashi turned to the shy boy as he twiddled his thumbs. "Whose Roxanne?" he whispered.
Zabuza smiled fondly and took the boy in his arms, turning him so they can watch as Dean tried in vain to keep a straight face and stay still as Sam laid his head on the man's chest with a sigh.
"Roxanne is my pack mate. You'd love her, she's smart and cunning"
"And from what I heard, has been on her own since she was very young" Kakashi inputted and smiled when he saw Naruto tiptoed behind Dean.
"Papa?" Sam looked up to Zabuza who looked down "When did you meet her?"
"Believe it or not Sammy, but Roxanne is the same age as these three"
A squeal and thud had them looking to see Naruto on top of Dean on the floor and mercilessly tickling his sides as Dean tried to get away but couldn't because he couldn't stop laughing. Sam watched as his big brother was literally brought to his knees by a cute little blonde and he laughed. Zabuza held the laughing boy as said boy buried his face in his chest as his shoulders shook from laughing so hard at his brother.
"You win! You win!" Dean cried as he tried again to twist away but Naruto wasn't finished just yet.
"Whose the best?" more tickling
"You are! You are!"
"Whose the best!"
"Naruto!" Dean laughed/cried out loud and Naruto jumped to his feet with a fist in the air, standing over the boy.
"Believe it!" Naruto gave a peace sign then a wink at his adoring crowds…. Where Sasuke snorted at him.
"Yeah, right, dobe"
"Hey!" then made to jump for the dark haired teen but instead was held in mid air by his grey haired sensei.
"Sasuke, be nice" said their sensei but allowed Naruto to stick his tongue at the boy as he held the blonde to his chest.
"Come on, baby" Zabuza said as he picked up a wheezing Dean who is trying to get his breathing and giggling back in order, wrapped his arms around Zabuza's neck and breathed in his scent to calm himself. Sam watched with a smug smile and leaned into Dean's ear.
"You got taken down by a little blonde boy" Sam sang teasingly then side stepped when Dean tried to swipe at him.
"Sam, be nice. Haku, your turn" addressing the two boys as one, like Naruto, stuck his tongue out and the other went to the podium.
"So cute" the lady commented then got to work and Zabuza set Dean down on his feet as did Kakashi. Both men kept a hand on their boy's shoulders to keep from lunging at the other boy as Sasuke and Sam smirked at the other. Sakura smiled at their antics, picked out a couple things then brought them over to set them on the counter next to the bundle of stuff and waited with the rest for her turn.
"What are we having for dinner?" Sakura asks just to keep the conversation going and when Naruto open his mouth, Kakashi covered it.
"No ramen. You stocked up for traveling and you might as well wait until we do" Naruto whined behind the hand covering his mouth and stomped his foot.
"Take out?" Sam suggest but Zabuza shakes his head.
"We usually cook dinner and since tonight is our first family dinner" Zabuza leans down to nuzzled Dean's head who blushes "Kakashi and I will cook while you kids relax and watch some good old fashion tv"
Naruto took the hand off his mouth "We can play cards"
"No!" everyone exclaimed then laughed at the blonde pouting and stomping his foot again, turning to his sensei.
"Sensei, they're all being mean to me" Giving his best kicked puppy look to his sensei who cooed at him then picked him up, nuzzling his cheek to get a giggle out and smirked at Sasuke who growled. Sakura patted his arm then switched places with Haku when he got off the block. Standing next to the glaring and growling boy, Haku took his arm in one hand and held his hand in the other.
"Sasuke should know better then to go up against his blonde, especially a certain blonde who can manipulate all those around him" Haku whispered to Sasuke who huffed and turned his head away.
Haku smiled at his stubbornness then addressed the room "We can plan on what to wear, what to bring and the buddy system" some nodded "Then schedule in what time to head home to get ready for the evening" again more nods "And of course use these two to ferry back and forth our winnings"
"And snacks we want to save for later" Naruto said as he bounced in Kakashi's arms.
"I'm in" Dean said "I bet they have all kinds of pies" he hummed in thought.
"I bet they have deep fried pies" Naruto challenged and Dean as about to counter that with something else when a hand covered his mouth. Squeaking then looked up at an amused looking Zabuza who quirked a brow then dropped his hand.
"Right, no betting with the blonde" Said blonde giggled
"Almost had you" He said with a big shit eating grin and Sam laughed.
"You are one sneaky blonde"
When the two adults finished with their measurements, the lady handed out the right sizes to each one, rang up the total and gave a copy of receipt to Zabuza, thanking him profusely for his business and after giving each young one a hug, they were on their way. While Zabuza was paying, the clones showed up with smiles and a thumbs up.
"I won" Sasuke's clone said smiling with his blonde clone who shrugged. The real one perked up at his victory and smirked at his real blonde who also shrugged, still in their sensei's arms. Not to be deterred from his victory, went to the two and took the blonde's hand, ignoring Kakashi's kawi face at them. The clones took the purchases and raced off, but not before Zabuza telling them to head to the market after to buy meats from the butchers and fresh vegetables from the local farmers. Saluting then racing off, Zabuza turned to Sam who smiled and jumped on his back, then to Dean who took his hand after adjusting Sam.
Heading out the door after waving to the lady goodbye, Zabuza took the lead on heading home with the boys, Sakura and Haku holding hands taking the middle, with Kakashi carrying Naruto who is holding Sasuke's hand.
As they walked back, Zabuza said something that had Sam bouncing on his back.
"How about we get a dog? For our new home?" Turning to Dean to gage is reaction and saw his eyes lit up, nodding.
"And a cat" Sam said still bouncing.
"Rabbits" Haku
"Chickens" Naruto got into it
"Parrakeets" Sasuke suggested
"Guinea pigs" Sakura squealed jumping up and down.
"I want a big dog to guard the house. And a small one I can carry and be like one of those ladies that carry them everywhere and be like 'Yeah, I got a small dog, so what?'. And another big dog to cross breed with the first one and make our own new breed" And on and on Dean went, getting so excited about having pets while Sam bounced on Zabuza's back as he too got into his brother's excitement as Zabuza smiled fondly at the two boys.
"Why chickens?" Sasuke asked Naruto as the three in front talked.
"Why parrakeets?" Naruto asked back
"They are colorful"
"Chickens lay eggs and the more you get then one can be for Christmas dinner" Sasuke hmmed.
"Rabbits and guinea pigs are good pets you can cuddle with" Sakura said as Haku nodded along.
"Cats and dogs can be best friends if they tried" Sam put in as Dean snorted.
"Natural enemies"
"Not necessarily" Kakashi said "People only think they are enemies but really they just need to get to know each other"
"So like people?" Naruto asked his sensei who nodded then the blonde turned his head to his friend. "Kind of like what we used to be" he squeezed Sasuke's hand when he turned to Naruto and lifted his hand to place a kiss.
"Right, dobe" he said fondly as Naruto giggled at him.
"We will get as many was we can" Zabuza said then turned his head to the boy on his back "Maybe even have a small garden for fresh herbs and vegetables"
"Yeah! Then Dean will have to eat healthy"
"Hey! I eat healthy" Sam gave him a look "I do! Ketchup is a vegetable, and they add lettuce and tomatoes to burgers plus fries is basically fried potatoes"
"Ketchup is a condiment and tomatoes are technically fruit, lots of people make that assumption" Haku said with a finger up as Sakura nodded.
"Tomatoes are fruit?" Naruto asks out loud as everyone except Dean nodded then shrugged and looked to Sasuke.
"Is that why you like them?" he asks as he tugs the boy's hand and said boy nodded.
When they neared their apartment, Sam wanted to be let down but Zabuza held on as they climbed the stairs to their floor, Naruto sniggered at the big boy as he tighten his hold on Kakashi and Sasuke. Haku unlocked and opened the door for the group and they all saw their purchases in the living room. Sam and Naruto jumped off their respective carriers and went to sit on the floor by the purchases. Haku, Sakura and Sasuke soon joined them while Kakashi took Dean to sit on the couch as Zabuza went to the kitchen to check on the groceries the clones purchased that are still in the bags on the counter.
Taking out meats from one and setting them in the sink then taking out the vegetables, smiling at Dean when he saw the boy looking and making a face. Turning on the oven, taking out pots and pan, Zabuza clicked his tongue and Kakashi stood from his place on the couch but not before placing a kiss on Dean's head. The boy took off his jacket and went to sit next to Sam on the floor with their purchases.
Naruto grabbed the remote and clicked on the tv then handed the remote to Haku who started surfing for channels they all might like. One caught Dean's eyes quickly and he held up a hand.
"Wait!" All heads turned to the tv, including the adults in the kitchen. A gruesome face appeared on the screen and everyone could hear Sam rolling his eyes but then,
"Cool" Both Dean and Naruto said as they fully turned to the tv, engrossed with the rotting flesh and buckets of blood.
"Hmm, that is so fake. You can see his real flesh showing on the back of his neck near the hairline" Sakura said as she went back to organizing the purchases.
"And blood doesn't spray like that when chomped down by teeth, even an artery spray couldn't go that far" Haku said as he watched the zombie person biting a neck of its victim.
"And flesh has many stages of decomp. This looks so fake" Sam said as he upended a bag onto the floor.
"Hey, don't knock the fine art that is a zombie movie" Dean told his brother who again rolled his eyes
"It's the thought that counts" Naruto put in and added "Who cares about the fine details, as long as we are entertained" Sasuke snorted at his blonde but Dean leaned over to give the blonde a side hug.
"See Sammy, he gets it"
"Whatever"
The adults in the kitchen chuckled at the kids' view about movies as they both chopped up vegetables and meat which caught the eyes of one of the kids.
"What are you making anyways?"
"Stew" both adults said together with a smile.
"When you are done with the bags, put your things away and we'll watch a better movie" Sasuke sniggered when he saw his blonde and Dean glare to the kitchen but Sam spoke up.
"Papa?" a hum "Where are we sleeping?" Dean looked to his brother then back to the kitchen, waiting for an answer.
"Sam will bunk with us in the living room pull out couch" Sasuke answered instead as he squinted at the screen
"Dean will go with Zabuza and Kakashi" Naruto said nonchalantly like it's no big deal but Dean face told a different story as it turned red and he looked down trying to hide his blush but Sam noticed and pinched his arm with a smirk.
"Dammit Sammy, that hurt"
"You were blushing like a school girl" Sam teased and dodged the hand aiming for him.
"Was not!"
"Was too" dodging another swing aiming for his head.
"Was not!" and made to lunge at Sam but the tall boy was too quick as he jumped up off the floor and ran to the kitchen. Dean glared at him as Sam hid behind Zabuza, sticking his tongue out with a smile.
"You got to sleep sometime" Dean growled but his face turned even redder when Sam countered with:
"You'll be too tired" and stuck his tongue out again at a blushing Dean whose eyes widen at the comeback.
"Sam" Zabuza said as said boy turned to the man with an innocent face that had both Haku and Sakura giggling into each other.
"Yes Papa" and sounded so sweetly too as Dean growled at his brother.
"Be nice to your brother or no dessert for you" Sam pouted then smiled when Zabuza kissed his head and smirked at a frowning Dean, who huffed then crossed his arms, turning away.
"Kiss ass" Naruto laughed
