Varie is in the Simulator.
In the Control Room are J.D., Aylene, Jessie, Anastasia, Woody, Naruto, Sakura, Fu, Ino, Rin, Hinata, Lincoln, Laney, Lana & Lola Penny, and Lisa.
The Simulator was activated, and Varie found herself in Tokyo's Shinjuku District. She noticed half of the Shinjuku City Hall Tower was engulfed in a strange red mass.
"Oh man," Varie exclaimed. "I'm in the battle against the D-Reaper."
"The D-Reaper?" exclaimed J.D., surprised. "This is terrible."
"What is the D-Reaper?" Lana inquired.
"It is a program designed to control the growth of Artificial Intelligence," J.D. explained. "The D-Reaper was created and programmed to delete programs that exceeded their original parameters. It was based on the Reaper Program, which the United States Department of Defense created in the 1980s to destroy the Morris Worm Virus."
Lisa nodded. "Exactly. The Reaper Program was designed for that purpose. But this D-Reaper sounds like it poses a serious threat to the world."
"Technology isn't my strong suit," Lola admitted, "no offense Lisa. "It's fascinating, but it's not for me."
"None was taken, Lola," Lisa replied.
"Technology has never been my strong suit," Aylene admitted. "It's too complicated for me."
"I know how you feel, Aylene," Laney said.
"This is really strange," Lana observed.
Penny expressed her excitement, saying, "This is really fascinating to me. Computers are cool."
"I find all of this fascinating," Jessie said, wondering, "but why would the D-Reaper want to attack the world?"
"I don't remember the whole story," J.D. admitted, "but we'll find out in time. Let's watch and see."
Varie approached the red mass of the D-Reaper. "This is bad. I've got to destroy this thing."
"Human beings are insignificant creatures who do not deserve to live."
"Who said that?" Varie asked, looking around.
Jeri Katou emerged from the bushes, but something was wrong with her.
"Jeri?" Varie asked, her eyes narrowed. "Wait a minute. You aren't Jeri. You're one of the Agents of the D-Reaper."
"Correct, subject Varie Knudson," ADR 001 confirmed.
"What have you done with the real Jeri?" Varie demanded.
"Your concern is illogical," ADR 001 stated. "The D-Reaper has therefore concluded that all humans only desire destruction. Emotions such as love, sadness, anger and happiness do nothing more than make you weak."
Varie shook her head. "I don't believe that. Love makes you stronger."
Varie dashed forward and punched the clone, sending her crashing into a building.
She arose from the rubble in her true form.
"So this is your true form," Varie observed. "You sure are ugly."
"Yes," ADR 001 replied. "Human beings do not deserve to exist. Humans are worthless creatures who only cause destruction. They created Digimon to fight battles and load data so that they could grow in strength and ability. Humans and Digimons must be deleted immediately."
"Shut up!" screamed Varie. "You have no right to decide that! We have the right to live and to protect those we care about! That's something a warped freak like you will never understand!"
"Human beings wage war, destroy other human beings, and thus their existence is meaningless," ADR 001 stated.
"SHUT UP!" screamed Varie.
Varie became angrier as the Agent continued to talk its head off, and her hair flashed Aqua Blue and back to Aqua Green. Her eyes were flashing from blue to purple and back again. The ground began to shake violently, and lightning struck the ground around her.
She then unleashes a new transformation in the form of a massive explosion of Aqua Blue light, transforming Varie into a Super Angel. She had Aqua Blue Hair, Purple Eyes, and an Aqua Blue Aura that radiated extreme power, and her energy levels had skyrocketed dramatically, and her Wings were spread.
In the control room, they were astonished.
"Varie became a Super Angel!" J.D. gasped.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Lana. "Varie looks awesome!"
"She looks amazing," Anastasia agreed.
"How did she get this power?" Lola wondered.
"It must've been the agent's constant babbling about how the D-Reaper would wipe out humanity," J.D. speculated. "It triggered something in Varie. Her power is incredible. She can win now."
Hinata had her Byakugan activated and was looking away.
"What do you see, Hinata?" Fu asked.
"Her energy is so strong that it's like looking at the sun," Hinata explained.
"Wow!" exclaimed Rin. "Varie's power has significantly increased."
"Incredible," Ino breathed.
Sakura nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Incredible. We've seen J.D.'s Super Angel transformation, and he easily defeated Kakashi-Sensei."
"Yeah," Naruto agreed.
"This is unbelievable," Jessie exclaimed.
Back at the battle.
"I won't let you destroy the planet, you monster!" Varie exclaimed.
She fired a Ki blast, which hit the Agent in the head and destroyed him.
"That's taken care of," Varie said. "Now to find Jeri."
She looked around and noticed something between the two towers of Shinjuku City Hall, so she flew out to investigate.
As she flew, she noticed a large fight taking place. Lots of explosions destroyed numerous agents and more.
"It looks like the Tamers have their hands full," Varie said. "I hope they make it."
She felt something invisible. "There's something here."
Beelzemon and Calumon appear.
"Beelzemon and Calumon?" Varie asked. "What are you doing here?"
Beelzemon replied, "Same thing you are. Calumon believes he knows where Jeri is."
Calumon leaps onto the invisible field. "Can you break this open?"
"We'll give it a shot," Varie promised. "Get on me quick."
Calumon did so, Varie fired a Ki ball, and Beelzemon fired his guns, and they saw a giant red sphere appear in mid-air between the towers of the Shinjuku City Hall building.
Varie looked into a crack but couldn't see anything. "Beelzemon, could you widen this crack so that Calumon and I can get through?"
"I'll give it a shot," Beezlemon responded.
With his strength, Beelzemon made it large enough. "There. Varie, bring Jeri back safely. I did something terrible to her, and I want to redeem myself. I can't change what happened in the past. But I can try to help her."
"I'll try to help her," Varie promised.
Varie and Calumon made it through and swam down, where they discovered another orb with Jeri Katou inside.
"Jeri, thank goodness," Varie said, relieved.
They entered the orb and landed next to her.
"Jeri, thank goodness you're okay," Varie said.
Jeri didn't look up.
"Jeri, what's wrong?" Varie asked, concerned.
She didn't answer.
"Jeri, it's me, Calumon," Calumon said, slightly panicked. "Aren't you glad to see me?"
"She's sad for some reason," Varie explained.
She then decided to go into her mind and figure out what was wrong. She used her psychic powers and entered her mind. She saw a horrific and dark past. Her mother died of a terminal illness when she was five years old, which devastated her. Tadashi's father tried his hardest to care for her, but it was never enough. He remarried, and Jeri never got along with her stepmother or stepbrother. She put on a mask to hide her pain and made many friends. Takato Matsuki has a crush on her, so she becomes a tamer with Leomon as her partner. But a tragic day befell her in the Digital World. Beelzemon destroyed Leomon, which devastated her greatly. She blamed herself for what happened and thought her destiny was always to be alone.
Varie snapped out of it.
"Varie, what's the matter?" Calumon inquired.
"Jeri, are you sad about what happened to your mother and Leomon?" Varie asked.
Jeri stood up and turned to face her. "How did you know all of that?"
"Because, like you, I have a dark past," Varie explained. "When I was five, my parents were killed by Evil Mermaids from the Dark Side of the Legend."
Jeri shook her head. "But mermaids aren't real."
Varie smiled at her. "Mermaids are real. But I have special powers that enable me to do all sorts of things. But I've seen your past and know you've been through a lot."
"You've never had your Digimon partner destroyed by an evil Digimon!" yelled Jeri. "How could you possibly know?!"
Varie nodded. "You're right. I don't have a Digimon partner, but I know you and Leomon were close. I can also tell you, you and your mother were close. I can tell. I know how difficult it is to lose a family member and how much it hurts. The pain never goes away. But your destiny is never to be alone. That is not how it works. Everyone has the power to change their destiny, and it lies within your heart. Nobody's destiny is ever set in stone."
Jeri lowered her head. "Maybe my destiny was always to be alone."
Varie shook her head. "No. That's not true. You have many friends who have become a part of your life. Takato loves you more than life itself. He's always been there for you. Takato has strong feelings for you. He just never showed it. You can't let the past haunt you like this. Losing my parents was difficult, but I know they will always be with me in my heart and spirit. I've learned to let go of the past and look forward to the future."
"How can I?" Jeri asked.
Varie smiled at her. "You can begin by spending time with your friends and letting go of your sadness, guilt, and regret. You can't live your life in misery. You can't blame yourself for what happened to your mom and Leomon. It wasn't your fault. Beelzemon is on the path to redemption. He feels so bad about what happened and wants to save you. I know how much Leomon meant to you, but he will always be with you in heart and spirit as long as you remember everything he and your mother taught you. You'll never be apart if you believe in yourself and keep them in your memories, heart, and spirit."
Jeri then began to understand everything Varie said, and she sobbed and hugged Varie.
"Just let it all out, Jeri," Varie consoled her. "Let it all out."
"I hate being alone," Jeri exclaimed, weeping uncontrollably. "I wish I could be with everyone!"
Varie gave her a sad smile. "I understand, Jeri. It's okay."
In the control room.
"Oh poor Jeri," Sakura lamented.
"She, too, has had a difficult life," Fu added.
"That's unfortunate," Hinata commented.
"Poor girl," Ino lamented.
"Oh man," Rin commented.
Naruto stated, "I feel her pain. She's had a dark past too. Like most of us."
"I know, little bro," J.D. admitted. "Her past was tragic."
Aylene was comforting Lola, Lana, and Penny, who were crying.
Varie was comforting Jeri for 30 minutes as she cried. She started to feel better.
"Thank you for helping me overcome my grief, Varie," Jeri expressed her gratitude.
"It's not a problem, Jeri," Varie replied.
Calumon floated over to Jeri. "Jeri, you're back!"
"Calumon," Jeri said, relieved. "I'm so glad you're okay."
Calumon said, "Thanks to Takato and my friends. You too, Jeri."
"Jeri, Calumon, how about we get out of here?" Varie suggested.
"Let's," Jeri agreed.
"Stay close to me," Varie advised.
Varie and Jeri held hands, and Varie flared up her aura, and outside, aqua blue beams of light ripped through the red orb, exploding with incredible power. When the smoke cleared, Beelzemon noticed that Varie, Jeri, and Calumon were all right.
"Thank goodness you're all okay," Beelzemon said, relieved. "Jeri, I'm so sorry. What I did is unforgivable. I don't need anyone to tell me that. But I can't change the past."
Jeri replied, "I forgive you, Beelzemon."
Beelzemon felt grateful.
"Let's go," Varie suggested.
Varie, Jeri, Calumon, and Beelzemon fly to the Monster Makers' base.
They arrived and went into the office, and everyone was surprised to see Jeri alive and well.
Beelzemon became Impmon again, and Varie explained everything.
Everyone was horrified.
"That's terrible," Mr. Yamaki said sympathetically. "I'm very sorry about what happened to you, Jeri. Losing a family member is really tough. You can take it from me."
Riley said, "I know how you feel, Jeri."
'Me too," Tally replied.
Takato, Henry, Rika, Ryo, Kazu, and Kenta entered, and Jeri was reunited with them.
"Jeri, thank goodness you're back," Henry exclaimed, relieved.
"Wait a minute," Rika said. "Didn't we see Jeri go home?"
Varie shook her head. "No, Rika. That was not Jeri. One of the D-Reapers Agents was made to look like her. She was planted as a spy to gather information and learn how humans work."
Suddenly, the area was rocked by a massive earthquake, and the D-Reaper transformed into its true form: the Mother D-Reaper.
"That has to be its main core," Varie speculated. "Its power is incredible. I don't believe we've ever faced this powerful monstrosity."
"What should we do?" Takato asked.
Varie looked at him and said, "What else? We fight."
Then a golden light shone down on Jeri, and a sword appeared in front of her. It had a golden yellow blade with a lion etched into it, and the runes in the word Lionheart were written in a strange language.
Leomon's voice could be heard. "Jeri, can you hear me?"
Jeri let out a gasp. "Leomon? Is that you?"
"Yes, Jeri," Leomon replied. "It's good to hear your voice once more."
"Me too," Jeri agreed.
"Jeri, take the sword," Leomon said, "It belongs to you."
"But I don't know how to fight with a sword," Jeri admitted.
"Trust me," Leomon said, "and remember, you have the heart of a lion."
Jeri took the sword and suddenly sprouted yellow angel wings and a lion symbol on her forehead. She was imbued with all of Leomon's strength and power and knowledge of how to fight with and without a sword.
"I'm ready," Jeri declared.
"Let's go!" Varie yelled.

The battle that will determine Humanity's and Digimon's fates has begun, and they went out and fought with incredible power.
"MEGA BARRAGE!" exclaimed MegaGargomon.
Several green energy missiles were launched, and they exploded on multiple agents.
Sakuyamon flew up. "AMETHYST WIND!"
Sakuyamon unleashed a purple energy flower petal wind, annihilating several more agents.
"ATOMIC RAY!" exclaimed HiAndromon.
Several agents were destroyed by a blue energy beam that passed through them. When it hit the D-Reaper mass, it caused a massive explosion.
"STORM OF JUDGEMENT!" exclaimed Cherubimon.
A massive lightning storm erupted, and numerous lightning bolts struck the D-Reaper mass and a large number of agents. The Mother D-Reaper was repeatedly hit.
"SHIELD OF THE JUST!" exclaimed Gallentmon.
A massive blast of red energy erupted from the Shield, striking Mother D-Reaper square in the face with a massive explosion.
Varie, Jeri and Beelzemon were flying over the mass.
"Let's attack it as a team with our most powerful attacks," Varie suggested.
"You got it!" Beelzemon exclaimed.
Jeri nodded. "Right."
Varie put her hands in front of her and started yelling, "KA! ME! HA! ME!"
With his blaster, Beelzemon made a pentagram. "CORONA DESTROYER!"
"FIST OF THE BEAST KING!" Jeri yelled.
"HA!" Varie finished.
They fired simultaneously, and the attacks combined, and when they hit the Mother D-Reaper, the powerful attack exploded with incredible power.
The explosion was so powerful that the Mushroom Cloud covered one-tenth of the area.
"Did it work?" Jeri asked.
When the smoke cleared, the Mother D-Reaper was 75% blasted apart.
"That did it," Varie declared.
"Negative, subject Varie Knudson," Mother D-Reaper responded.
A figure emerges from the remaining structure of the Mother D-Reaper, and it was the Jeri Agent. This time, however, there was no face.
Varie rolled her eyes in annoyance. "This one again?" She then narrowed her eyes at it. "Wait a minute. It's different this time, and it's more powerful than it was the last time I faced it. Let me face it."
Varie went out, and she and the Agent clasped hands.
Mother D-Reaper, speaking through the Agent, stated, "Humans and Digimon exist only to destroy or be destroyed. An exercise in futility. Humans desire destruction, so their existence is meaningless."
"As I said, you have no right to make that decision." Varie punched the agent in the face, igniting a vicious and ferocious fight.
Varie punched it in the stomach, the agent punched Varie in the face, and Varie kicked it in the mouth. The Agent punched Varie in the face once more.
"You are persistent," the Mother D-Reaper said as it punched Varie in the head. "But you're only delaying the inevitable!"
The Agent kicked Varie in the stomach and then in the head.
Varie coughed up some blood.
"Varie!" Jeri screamed and then flew in to help.
The Agent punched Varie and kicked her into the D-Reaper Mass.
"YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO EXIST!" the Mother D-Reaper yelled.
Varie exploded out of the mass, and Jeri slashed the agent's cable.
"We do deserve to exist!" With devastating force, Varie punched the agent in the stomach. "You don't!"
The agent disintegrated.
Varie said, "Thanks, Jeri. Now." She turned to the rest of the D-Reaper and said, "I've had enough of this."
Varie raised her hands into the air. "People of the Earth and Digimon of the Digital World, share your energy with me."
In the Control Room.
"Varie's using the Spirit Bomb," J.D. realized.
"Spirit Bomb?" Aylene inquired.
"It's the ultimate attack," J.D. explained. "I saw it on Dragonball Z. It draws energy from all living things in its vicinity. The trees, the water, all life, and even the sun and moon. It explodes into a massive ball of energy when it becomes powerful enough."
"Incredible," Aylene exclaimed.
"But will it be strong enough to take out the D-Reaper?" Lana wondered.
J.D. responded, "Yes, Lana, it will."
Everyone on Earth raised their hands, and everyone in the Digital World channeled their energy into Varie, and the energy from both worlds poured into Varie at an accelerated rate.
A massive energy ball the size of the moon formed, and Varie condensed it to the size of her hand. She was making it more concentrated and potent.
"D-Reaper, this is the power of humans and Digimon working together," Varie explained. "Now perish! SPIRIT BOMB!"
She hurled it into the heart of the D-Reaper Mass, and it exploded with tremendous force.
The explosion was so powerful and devastating that it obliterated the entire D-Reaper fleet on Earth. The explosion also reached the Digital World and completely obliterated it. The explosion spread throughout the network, completely erasing all traces of the D-Reaper.
When the smoke cleared, the mass was visible as a massive crater with a tube hole. It was a gap that opened up in the Digital World.
Varie powered down, and she was a little tired. "It's finally over. The D-Reapers energy signal has completely disappeared."
Fortunately, everyone in the building was shielded by a heart bubble created by one of MarineAngemon's heart bubbles.
The merged Digimon changed back, and they all cheered.
Varie, Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, and Suzie were heroes as the city was being rebuilt.
In the control room, there was wild cheering.
"She did it!" J.D. cheered.
"Way to go, Varie!" Aylene cheered.
"You rock, girl!" Anastasia cheered.
"She is awesome!" Jessie cheered,
Lisa nodded. "Affirmative. She is awesome."
Varie, Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Susie, the Monster Makers, and the Digimon were all heroes.
Varie offered to move the Tamers, Digimon, and their families to Detroit, and they accepted.
The exercise ended.
Jeri now lives in J.D.'s mansion. It turns out that she, her stepmother, and her stepbrother have formed a close bond. The Digimon Sovereigns, Zhuqiaomon, Azulongmon, Baihumon, and Ebonwumon, now reside in castles at the Cardinal Points on the Detroit and Royal Woods City Perimeters. Takato and Jeri are now boyfriend and girlfriend after Jeri revealed her feelings for him.
