Out in a glade, Fluttershy, now wearing the iconic dress like the one the character from the film wears, ambles through the field with a bunch of flowers carried in one arm humming a tune while Cratus is standing in the background with his horse.
"One song... I have but one song."
Fluttershy picked some flowers from a patch.
"La da... la da da dee. La da... la da da dee da."
Fluttershy picked some more flowers over at another patch.
"Lala lala la la-"
Somewhere nearby, a baby bluebird is sitting on a rock near a tree chirping sadly; shedding tears. Fluttershy hears this and she approaches the sad bird.
"Hello there," she said and she picked up the bird with her hands. "What's the matter? Where's your mom and papa?" Fluttershy asked and the bird chirped indeterminately.
"Wha... I believe you're lost," Fluttershy said and then she kindly strokes the bird's feathers. "Oh please don't cry."
Cratus checks his surroundings to make sure no one else is around before doing the task Chrysalis ordered him to do.
"Come on, perk up," Fluttershy encouraged the bird kindly. "Would you smile for me?"
The bird chirped happily, knowing it's in good hands.
"That's better," Fluttershy chuckled.
Cratus draws his dagger out from its sheath and he began to approach Fluttershy.
"Your mom and papa can't be far," said Fluttershy and then the sound of twittering is heard. "There they are!" she said as she pointed up at the tree.
Cratus inches closer and closer to Fluttershy unbeknownst to her.
"Can you fly?" Fluttershy asked the bird and the bird took off in flight from Fluttershy's hands, flying up to the tree.
"Goodbye," Fluttershy said to the bird as she waved. "Goodbye!"
Fluttershy slowly turns around and she screamed when she saw Cratus with his dagger raised and she shields herself with her arms with great fear. Just when Cratus is about to strike, he drops his dagger.
"I can't. I can't do it!" he cravenly said as he covered his face with his hands with shame and then he fell on his knees. "Forgive me. I beg of your highness! Forgive me," he pleaded as he grasped onto the hem of Fluttershy's dress.
"I don't understand," said Fluttershy.
"She's mad, jealous of you, she'll stop at nothing!" Cratus claimed, about Chrysalis.
"But—but who?" Fluttershy asked.
"The queen!" Cratus said.
"The queen?" Fluttershy questioned with shock.
"Now quick, child, run! Run away! Hide! In the woods! Anywhere!" Cratus told Fluttershy. "Never come back! Now go! Go! GOOO!"
Fluttershy did exactly what she was told to do while Cratus continued on encouraging her.
"Run! Run! Hide! Hide, my child!"
Fluttershy is running through the deepest part of the forest which has somehow became dark and scary. She runs into a tree where an owl emerged from the hole of the tree and screeches at her and then the owl flies away. After being startled by the owl, Fluttershy ran down a path going towards a small cave, but is soon frightened away by a flock of bats. As she runs, Fluttershy's dress gets caught onto a leafless shrub and she screamed, because to her, it looked like a bunch of hands grabbing her; the same fact happening a second later when she ran into another nearby leafless shrub. She runs towards a tree that she imagines is the face of a frightening monster which made her scream as she backs away, only to fall through a large hole inside a large, hollow tree log that looked like the mouth of a monster. Inside the hole, Fluttershy had grabbed onto a long, skinny root, dangling over a pond below her. The root breaks and Fluttershy plunges into the pond. Fluttershy saw some logs that looked like alligators which made her scream and she runs out of the pond, drenched. She runs into another scary-looking tree that looked like it's alive due to the gusting wind. Fluttershy withdraws it and she ran down a path that's surrounded by more scary-looking trees. Fluttershy's frightened psychological state is outwardly manifest in the scenery surrounding her; she is overwhelmed by hundreds of frightening pairs of eyes. Fluttershy screamed one last time until she collapses to the ground, bawling softly with terrorization. Suddenly, the forest lights up and everything returns to normal. Little does Fluttershy know, a bunch of forest animals, rabbits, deers, squirrels, birds, etc., are watching and feeling very sorry for her and they began to slowly creep up towards her. One of the rabbits creeps up towards Fluttershy, sniffing her, and Fluttershy slowly lifts her head up and sees the rabbit.
"Ohhh!" Fluttershy exclaimed, scaring the rabbit and all the other animals as they scatter in all directions to hide.
"Please don't run away," Fluttershy implored. "I won't hurt you."
The animals came out of their hiding places and they looked at Fluttershy with confusion, surprised at how harmless she looks.
"I'm awfully sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. But you don't know what I've been through. And all because I was afraid. I'm so ashamed of the fuss I made," Fluttershy said with guilt.
"What do you do when things go wrong?" Fluttershy asked a family of bluebirds who are perched on a tree limb, a mother, father, and baby — that looked like the one from before — and the parental bluebirds whistled a tune.
"Ohhh! You sing a song!" Fluttershy radiantly said and the parental birds looked at each other and nodded and they chirped affirmatively to Fluttershy.
Fluttershy vocalizes the tune the parental birds whistled and then the baby bluebird repeats the tune. Fluttershy vocalizes the same tune and the baby bird repeats the same tune again. The baby bird flew down and it perched on Fluttershy's finger. Fluttershy vocalizes an ascending melody and then the baby bird repeats the melody but the last note it hits is sour which caused its parents to cringe; so did the baby bird itself. Fluttershy chuckled and she began to sing.
With a smile and a song
Life is just like a bright, sunny day
Your cares fade away
And your heart is young
With a smile and a song
All the world seems to waken anew
Rejoicing with you
As the song is sung
There's no use in grumbling
When raindrops
Come tumbling
Remember, you're the one
Who can fill the world with sunshine
When you smile and you sing
Everything is in tune and it's spring
And life flows along
With a smile and a song
Once Fluttershy had finished singing, the animals chattered with joy.
"I really feel quite happy now," said Fluttershy. "I'm sure I'll get along somehow. Everything's going to be all right. But I do need a place to sleep...at night."
"I can't sleep on the ground like you," Fluttershy said to a rabbit family with a chuckle and the mother rabbit shook her head "no". "Or in a tree...the way you do," she said to a squirrel family and the parental squirrels shook their heads "no" as well. "And I'm sure no nest could possibily be big enough for me," she said to a bird family.
"Maybe YOU know where I can stay," Fluttershy said to another group of birds and two of the birds looked at each other and nodded.
"In the woods somewhere?" Fluttershy questioned and the birds chirped in agreement. "You do?" she questioned again and the birds chirped with agreement. "Will you take me there?" she asked and the birds flew down and grabbed onto Fluttershy's cape with their beaks and they escorted her with the rest of the animals as they led the way into the woods.
