Fluttershy and the animals pass by the banks of a small river until they came across a trail that leads up to a hill. Later on, once they're at the top of the hill, Fluttershy stops for moment to stretch her arms and then she and the animals continued on rambling until they came across a wall of trees. The squirrels and chipmunks bend them back to reveal a small clearing, hosting a small cottage across a brook.

"Oh, it's adorable!" Fluttershy said with delight. "Just like a doll's house."

Everyone goes over to the house after Fluttershy, who pauses on the bridge to take in the scenery. A second later, she approaches near the house.

"I like it here," said Fluttershy and she walked up to the window which is very dirty. She wipes away some of the dirt and dust to look inside, but can hardly see the interior. One of the raccoons also wiped away some dirt, but cannot see much of anything inside either.

"Oooooh, it's dark inside," Fluttershy said and she walked over to the door. She makes herself presentable and she delicately knocked rapidly on the door five times but there was no answer. She knocks on the door the second time and there was still no answer.

"Guess there's no one home," said Fluttershy and she slowly opens the door.

"Hello?" Fluttershy called out. "May I come in?"

Fluttershy slowly enters the house. She beckons the animals to come inside and she shushes them to stay quiet and the animals carefully stepped inside the house. Fluttershy and the animals walked quietly as they inspect the environment. The cottage appears to be empty, and that whoever owns the place had probably either abandoned it or just not present at the moment.

"Ohh!" Fluttershy exclaimed with surprise when she caught sight of a small chair. Her cry of surprise caused the animals to run out the door.

"What a cute, little chair!" she radiantly said as she sat down in the chair.

The animals, some of which scrambled into various corners of the room, peer from their hiding places.

"Why, there's seven little chairs," Fluttershy noticed. "Must be seven little children."

Fluttershy stood up from the chair. "And from the look of this table, seven untidy little children."

Fluttershy observes the messy dining table that's filled with piles of dirty dishes and a pick axe stuck in the table — with a stocking hanged over the handle part.

"A pick axe! A stocking too!" Fluttershy chuckled and she lifts the lid of the pot and she reached her hand inside and pulled out a shabby, old shoe. "And a shoe."

The parental bluebirds whistled a wolf-whistle sound at the sight of the old shoe; so did the baby bluebird.

Fluttershy walked up to a fireplace. "And just look at that fireplace," she said and she ran a finger across the mantel. "It's covered with dust."

Fluttershy takes a deep breath and she blows the dust off the mantel, kicking up a cloud of dust causing two squirrels to sneeze and a chipmunk to sneeze as well, but the force of the sneeze sent the chipmunk into a tipped-over beer stein mug.

"And look, cobwebs everywhere. My, my, my!" Fluttershy said as a squirrel gets one caught on itself, struggling with it.

"What a pile of dirty dishes," Fluttershy pointed out and the birds and squirrels observed said dishes with awe that are in a towering stack and Fluttershy lets out an astonished whistle.

"And just look at that broom!" Fluttershy gasped and a group of quails looked at said broom that's propped up against an old chest covered in cobwebs and the quails shook their heads with disappointment while clicking their tongues.

"Why, they never swept this room!" Fluttershy proclaimed. "You think their mother would- *gasp* Maybe they have no mother."

The doe and the fawn shook their heads with pity.

"Then, they're orphans; that's too bad," Fluttershy said as the fawn nuzzles up against its mother at the thought and then the doe licks her young on the head in a motherly manner.

"I know, we'll clean the house and surprise them. Then maybe they'll let me stay," said Fluttershy and she took off her cape and handed it to two birds and they took it over to a rack and hanged it.

"Now, you wash the dishes..." Fluttershy told one group of animals. "You tidy up the room," she told another group of animals. "You clean the fireplace..." she told another group of animals. "And I'll use the broom."

The birds began whistling a bugle call tune.

(Fluttershy) Just whistle while you work

(whistling)

And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place

So hum a merry tune

(humming)

It won't take long when there's a song to help you set the pace

And, as you sweep the room

Imagine that the broom

Is someone that you love and soon you'll find you're dancing to the tune

One of the squirrels, who are in charge of the dishes, held a saucer in front of the fawn and the fawn cleanses it by licking it.

"Ooh! No-no-no-no," Fluttershy told the fawn and the squirrels. "Put them in the tub."

When hearts are high the time will fly so whistle while you work

After the squirrels had pushed the dishes into the tub nearby, the fawn pumps the handle of the water pump with its tush, rinsing the dishes.

Two squirrels are off in a corner sweeping some dirt. One is lifting a rug while the other sweeps the dirt under it.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah. Not under the rug," Fluttershy told the squirrels. They both look at each other and they saw a hole nearby and they began sweeping the dirt into the hole. Once they had done that, they wink at each other. Suddenly, the dirt came flying out of the hole and they duck under the rug. A mouse pokes its head out of the hole and it chitters angrily at them and then the mouse kicks the dirt at the squirrels.

Fluttershy is dusting off a pipe organ while the squirrels and rabbits are dusting off other furniture. Two squirrels, who are on a shelf, are dusting off another beer stein except unlike the other, it's a music box. One of the squirrels lifts up the beer stein while the other dusts below it and then the beer stein activates, frightening the squirrels away as they duck behind a wall around the corner of the shelf. The squirrels poke their heads out from behind the wall, looking at the beer stein music box with bewilderment. Later, a gray squirrel is sweeping the table with its tail and Fluttershy goes over to the window and shakes the excess dust off her rag as she turned her head away, not wanting to get any dust on her face. The squirrel tries that with its tail and sneezes as a result. Another squirrel, who is on top of a horizontal support beam, is collecting cobwebs with its tail and then a chipmunk, who is on top of a cuckoo clock, tries the same, but its tail gets caught. The chipmunk is trying to pull its tail free and once its tail had finally pulled free, the chipmunk falls off the clock and into a small stocking that's hanged on a rack along with the other clothes. The chipmunk protruded out from the stocking, looking at the fouth wall with a gapey smile. Another chipmunk is stringing up another web into a ball and then a spider comes down and frightens the chipmunk away. Meanwhile, the birds had gathered flowers and they're dropping them into a vase, some of which had to be propped up. Later, two birds are carrying a pocket of water, holding it over the flowers and then a hummingbird pierces it with its beak, causing the water to spill over the flowers. Afterward, most of the chipmunks are carrying dirty clothes to the floor, one falling off after bumping into the handle of a pick. Fluttershy, yet humming, gathers the clothes and then she and some birds placed them on the buck's antlers. The buck starts for the door just as a bird places a glove on his tail. He almost trips on the overalls that's dangling from his antlers before regaining his balance just as he is about to go out the other door. Outside, in a pond near the cottage, the raccoons are doing laundry. The buck gets there and he shakes off the clothes from him. After he flings his tail, the glove lands on one of the raccoons' head, who frowns at him. In the corner of the pond, one of the chipmunks is scrubbing a shirt on the turtle's belly, which to him, tickles. Suddenly, two of the birds pull on the shirt and the chipmunk, along with the turtle, holding onto its tail, tries to pull it back, but the force knocks it into the latter's shell. The turtle and the chipmunk poke their heads out of the upper hole of the shell and they both looked at each other and smiled. The birds twist the shirt up, wringing it, and then they tie it by the sleeves to a clothesline along with the other wet clothes.

(One of the birds perched on Fluttershy's finger.)

So, whistle while you work

(bird repeats melody)

Aaah ah-ah-ah-ah-ah

(bird repeats melody)

Fluttershy continues humming as she sweeps the front porch while the animals kept on doing their part.
