Samara stared at the other side of the Inn. There in the corner sat a hooded figure who had been staring at her for almost half an hour. She did not like that at all.
"Ah my dear lady, apologies for my late arrival."
Samara looked up to see a tall man in front of her. The man sat down on the opposite side of the table.
"I know of course who you are, your reputation proceeds you." The man continued, seeming a bit nervous.
"Does it?" Samara asked still looking at the cloaked figure who just stood up.
"Well I know of your abilities." The man said. "We all do."
"What?"
Suddenly everyone in the Inn stood up and stared at her. Samara stood up herself and wanted to walk to the entrance, but found it blocked by several men.
"Did you really think we would let you go so easily, after what you did all those years ago?" One of them said.
"We'll teach you a lesson Avatar!"
All the men in the Inn charged. Samara threw her hands in front of her, creating a blaze of fire. There were screams, but they soon stopped. When Samara opened her eyes again, the Inn was filled with burned bodies. The girl looked around in horror untill her eyes fell on a mirror. It was not her own face that looked back at her, but the face of a man with black eyes. She screamed and suddenly saw an elfen lord standing in front of her. Not an old nor young elf. He looked kindly at her and said: "You are not him Samara, come to me and I will help."
Samara gasped for air as she opened her eyes and sat up. The sun shined in her face and the wind blew her brown hair out of her face. Slowly her heartbeat became slower and her breaths more steady. Realisation that it was all just a dream came upon her.
She cursed softly as she noticed the pieces of ground that had been moved around her. Earthbending while asleep, very low profile. She stood up and gathered her things, which was so little it fit in one shoulderbag, and went on her way. As she walked she held a letter in one hand. It was from her only friend in all of Middle Earth, the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins. They had been friends for a very long time after she had saved the then young hobbit from the river. Bilbo had asked her to come over and she had accepted. A smile crept on her face as the first glances of the Shire came into view. She didn't visit often, the Hobbits did not like strange visitors and were not ashamed to let it show. Imagine what it would be like if they knew who she was, or rather who she was destined to become.
Bilbo knew of her abilities to bend the elements. After all that's how she saved him in the first place. But he had vowed to keep it secret and she believed him. Everything was quiet as Samara made her way through the fields and past the round doors. Several hobbits sat in their frontgarden and gave her a funny look. Others disappeared into their houses by the sight of her. Hobbits and their habits. It was because of that, that Samara was very surprised to see a tall man stand in front of Bilbo's garden.
"Excuse me?" She asked. "Can I help you?"
The man turned towards her, just as surprised as she was by the look on his face.
"Yes, perhaps you can." He said. "My name is Gandalf the Grey and I would like to bring Bilbo Baggins on an adventure."
