(Vincent's Pov)
A few days had passed and I was currently with Louis and the others in the studio as they worked on their songs and I was strumming the guitar a bit. I hear my phone go off and I smiled as I answer it.
"Hey what's up?" I asked.
"Hazel wanted to say hi." Clem says and I hear the phone be shifted around.
"Hi Papa." I hear and chuckled as I get up and motion to the others my phone and I head outside.
"Hey, how's everything going?" I asked.
"Going good, Mama let me sit on Hershel's tractor." She says.
"Oh, that sounds like fun, did you get to drive it?" I asked.
"No, it doesn't start up anymore, he said it was ok though." She tells me.
"Well, that's fun, how's that one science program you're in?" I asked.
"It's really fun, we got to make things blow up, but only a little one, nothing to big." She tells me.
"Dang, well at least you're having fun." I say and think.
"When will you be home?" She asked.
"Hmm, not for at least two months, unless something happens… please don't try and make something happen." I say and she laughed.
"I won't do that, I'm not that dumb." She says.
"I know you aren't but you're really smart." I tell her.
"Yep… hey dad… when you get back home can we go to the park again?" She asked.
"Of course, whatever you want princess… are you ok?" I asked her.
"Yea it's just… Mama and Mom are busy with planning for the twins and I just… I want to go do something fun." She says and I think.
"Hey why don't you ask Mama and Mom if Autumn could come spend the night again at the house, you two had a lot of fun right?" I asked.
"She had to go stay with her grandma for the week." She tells me.
"Oh… oh I'm sorry." I think a bit more.
"It's ok, you didn't know… was I bothering you?" She asked.
"No not at all… actually you could help me." I say as I walk around the back of the studio and pull out a pack of cigarettes.
"Oh ok, what can I help with?" She asked.
"Well, I'm a bit stuck on writing a song… but if you have any ideas tha-."
"A love song." She says and I laughed.
"The cheesy type hu?" I asked.
"Or maybe country." She says and I think.
"Hmm, sounds interesting." I say as I light my cigarette.
"So soft tone?" I asked.
"Hmm, yea kinda." She tells me and I think.
"Dad." She says and I was a little worried.
"Something wrong Princess?" I asked.
"Well… I know you're really supportive of me." She says but keeps quiet.
"Princess?" I asked.
"Dad… what if I'm like you?" She asked.
"Pardon?" I asked.
"What if… I'm trans?" She asked.
"Oh honey, that is nothing to be ashamed of." I tell her.
"I know, but I just… what if… Autumn doesn't like that?" She asked.
"Oh, so you do have a crush on her." I say and smirked.
"How?"
"You moms mentioned it to me… plus you only stayed by her at your party." I mentioned.
"Oh… but what if… I don't know." She says.
"Honey, if Autumn likes you back, she would be supportive of you on this… do you need to talk to someone about it?" I asked.
"That's why I asked you."
"Yes, but do you need to talk to a professional?" I asked her.
"I don't know… I mean I don't mind being a girl, but it wouldn't be bad to be a boy either." She says and I think.
"How about this, you go ask your Mom and Mama, to get you some boy clothes, and see how it feels, if you like both feminine clothing and guy clothing, you might be non-binary." I explained.
"What's that?" She asked.
"It just means you could feel like a boy or girl some days, you could go by they, them pronouns, you could use she, him, and so on depending on your day, ask Mom and Mama to call you he, him for a while and see how you feel ok?" I asked.
"Ok… could you do that?" She asked.
"Of course, do you want me to call you Prince?" I asked.
"That would be nice." She says.
"Alright my little Prince." I say to them.
"But wouldn't it be confusing?" They asked.
"Hmm sometimes, like if for one week we used he, him pronouns and you feel feminine and don't tell us, we would get confused, but that's why they, them would be a good option as well." I tell them.
"Ok… I think I want to do he, him for a while though." He tells me and I nod.
"Alright, just message me when you feel I should use she, her, ok?" I asked.
"Ok… thank dad." He says and I nod.
"Anytime kiddo, and tell your Mom and Mama ok?" I tell him.
"Ok, thanks dad." He says.
"Oh, and if you want us to call you a different name, tell us that too, and maybe when you get older, we can change it for you ok?" I asked.
"Ok… thank you Papa." He says.
"Anytime… oh I have to go back to work, call me later tonight, ok?" I asked.
"Will do." He says and then we both hang up. I take a breath and head back inside and to the studio and see Brody looking at me.
"Everything ok?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea, Hazel just… wanted to talk about something." I explained.
"Oh, what about?" Louis asked as I go and take a seat and mess with my guitar.
"They were questioning some things, like gender identity, they think they're trans like me, but it's ok, right now they want to be called He, Him, see how it feels, but I suggested they, them when we don't know." I explained.
"Well, we know she's yours." Marlon says and I look up to him.
"Sorry, he… they? I'm sorry I didn't mean-."
"Hey it's fine… I wonder if this is how my parents felt when I was growing up." I mutter a bit and pluck the string on my guitar.
"Well, if they ever need help, we're here, and we know you'll help them out any way you can." Ruby says and I nod.
"Yea I told them to ask Clem and Minerva if they could get him some boy clothes and see how they feel, and to use those pronouns, if they think they're like me… a boy then it's ok, if they still feel Feminine then that's ok too." I stated.
"Damn right." Louis says and I chuckled a bit.
"So why was he worried about telling you that?" Ruby asked.
"Oh well… Hazel has a crush on this girl-."
"They like someone?" Brody says excited and I nodded.
"Yep, her name is Autumn, she's a sweet girl but Hazel thinks that Autumn might not like him if he's like me, you know?" I asked.
"Oh, I get it, but they're still young to be thinking about that, don't you think?" Marlon asked.
"Eh, it's a bit iffy, but we will see as he get's older, no harm in trying to help them figure it all out." I stated.
"Actually, this is great for Hazel, if you explain all the differences and such to him then they can figure it out as they get older, then when they really know what they want to go by it wouldn't be a bad thing to have helped them out before hand, I just wish some people would do that instead of automatically thinking 'Oh well you just want to brainwash and mutilate their body and then they regret it in life' bullshit." Ruby says.
"Well, I mean I get it if they're way to young like a child but no one would actively harm their child in this situation… I mean if they really love their kids, not the psychopathic parents that would rather send their kid to conversion therapy camps just because they can't accept that their kid is trans or gay, or apart of any LGBTQ." I mutter and pluck another string.
"Anyway, we can see how things go for them later on." I say and grabbed some paper and started to write some things down.
"So have you finished the song for Hazel?" Louis asked.
"Oh yea, I might have to change some words around unless they're ok with what I originally wrote… anyway… country?" I asked.
"Hell yea." Ruby says and the others groaned and I laughed at this. We got busy for the past few months and currently we were about to hold a concert in Tennessee, I was setting up the equipment for the drums and amps when I get a call on my phone so I answer it.
"Hello this is Vincent." I say as I hook up the amps.
"Hey Vincent, we're having a bit of a problem at the store." I hear and I stand up a bit.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Well, these two people came in and asked for custom Violins and I told them we couldn't do that since you were gone and they kept saying to just put the order in, but again I told them you were gone for a while and we wouldn't be able to make the order in time." Sean says and I groaned a bit.
"Did you recommend the Customs shop down the road?" I asked.
"I did but they said they wanted you to make it, but they need it by next week." He says and I can hear how tired he is.
"Hey it's fine, you called me on the store phone right?" I asked.
"Yea?" He asked.
"Ok, hand the phone to the customers and you and the others take a break, maybe close the shop early if you guys need to, you sound tired as hell." I say.
"No I can still run the shop it's just… these two are annoying." He says.
"Ok, well go take a break, it won't come out of your pay so don't clock out ok?" I asked.
"Alright, I'll tell the others too, Maggie is trying to deal with them." He says and I here some shuffeling and then Sean tells them I'm on the phone.
"Vincent." I hear and groaned.
"Well hello Mr. Leigh, what can I do for you?" I asked.
"We need some custom Violins by next week." He says.
"Look I am currently out of the state right now, so even if I came back I wouldn't have it in by next week." I tell him.
"You made the builds in a week before." He says.
"Because I was told in advance plus we don't have all the material I haven't order-."
"What kind of shop are you even running here." I hear his wife say and I groaned.
"Hell Mrs. Leigh, for your information I haven't-."
"You should have trained your staff to make custom build before leaving." She intturupts me and I place my hand on my face as I walked around a bit.
"Look, I didn't train them because I was asked to help the band out-."
"So instead our daughter is taking care of your wife and daughter?" She says and I took a deep breath.
"Yes your daughter is taking care of my wife and son." I say.
"That is a girl, your daughter." She says.
"My son, that is my son and you will respect him and his wishes to be called as such, now if you're going to continue to badmouth my family, I will have my workers call the cops and get you two for trespassing, they offered the shop down the road but your thick skulls can't comprehend that other people can make custom builds as well, so leave the store or get arrested." I tell them.
"Just wait till Minerva hears about this."
"I don't give a damn she doesn't own my fucking shop, now get the hell out or get the cops called." I tell them. The phone was then slammed down and I pulled my ear away a bit and I hear some arguing and then the phone is picked up again.
"When will you be back?" I hear Mr. Leigh ask in a softer tone.
"Not sure, maybe a week before Clem's due date." I say.
"If we can pull back on the date, could you make the custom violins?" He asked.
"How far back can you pull it?" I asked.
"Maybe five months?" He says.
"… Five months is fine depending on the amount you need." I say to him.
"We need ten of them." He says and I think.
"It takes five days to make one, so fifty days, that's about two months… make it four months and you'll be fine." I tell him.
"Alright thank you, uh so do I just out the order in?" He asked.
"Yea just tell my worker Sean, and he would put it on the calendar, I'll probably be back in a month and start working on them." I tell him.
"Thank you." He says and I nod.
"Yea… uh… and maybe you and I could maybe talk? Just you and me, not your wife." I say.
"About?" He asked.
"Look… I get it you guys are old fashioned and such but… or child…" I stopped talking.
"I know Minerva told us, Hazel want's to be called a boy, I've accepted it, my wife won't and I am sorry." He says.
"You seem more mellowed out." I tell him.
"When she isn't around… alright we can talk later." He says.
"Alright thank you." I say and I hang up the phone and take a breath. I get back to work before I get another phone call and I answer it.
"Vincent." I say.
"Vincent it's Clem." I hear.
"What's going on?" I asked as I look around.
"She said her stomach hurt really bad so I took her to the hospital." Minerva says panicked.
"Ok, ok I'll… I'll get the first flight out, just tell Clem I'll be there as soon as I can." I tell her.
"Ok, ok." She says and she hangs up and I run off to the side of the stage and jump down and head over to the others.
"Guys I have to go." I say.
"Wait what?" Louis asked.
"Clem said something was wrong with her stomach I have to go now." I tell them.
"Ok, ok we can do the show we have some songs." Brody says and I nod and run over to the bus as the others called my name. I got on the bus and then heard someone behind me.
"You can't just leave." Louis says as I pack my bag.
"Bullshit, we agreed-."
"I know but… come on it's just stomach pain." He says and I look to him and glare.
"Stomach pains while pregnant-." I was interrupted by my phone going off and I go to grab it but Louis grabbed my hand."
"Louis, let go." I tell him.
"She will be fine."
"Louis I swear-."
"She will be fine." He says and I pull my arm away and answer the call.
"Vincent it's the twins." I hear and glare at Louis.
"Ok, ok I'll be there soon." I tell Minerva and we hang up and I grabbed my bag.
"Vincent." Louis says.
"Louis something is really wrong now fuck off." I tell him and hurry off the bus and grabbed a quick ride in a cab and headed to the airport. I was able to buy my tickets on my phone and hurried through the airport and got on the plane. Though it seemed quick I had sent a message to Minerva that I would be there in a few hours. When I had landed, I hurried out to the pick-up area and saw Minerva and hurried over to her and we headed to the hospital.
"Did they say anything?" I asked.
"I don't know, there was some blood but the doctors said that can happen, but I don't know I started to freak out… Hazel is with Clem right now." She tells me.
"Did they say anything about the twins?" I asked.
"One of them looked… bad." She says.
"How bad?" I asked.
"I don't know I couldn't ask." She says and I nod.
"Ok, ok, I am sorry." I say and we keep quiet as she drove us. When we finally get to the hospital and I rubbed my face and we hurry over to the hospital and we get in and she takes me over to the room and I see some doctors looking over Clem.
"Vince-."
"Hey I'm here." I say as I go over to her and I see Hazel and I nod to them and look back to Clem.
"Seems like one twins decided they wanted out now, we might have to do a C-section." The doctor says.
"Ok, Clem are you ok with that?" I asked and she nods.
"Ok, we can get the room ready." One doctor says and I look at them and nod as they head out and I look to her and take a seat.
"Hey." I say and hold her hands gently.
"I'm scared." She says.
"It'll be fine you and the twins." I tell her. She gripped my hand tighter and I look to her sadly as she looked to the side a bit.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"I was… being stupid." She muttered and I look to Minerva.
"I told her to wait and I would grab the box because it was heavy, when I walked away just for a few seconds next thing I know she's in pain I see some blood and… I don't know I freaked out." She says and I nod.
"Not your fault." I tell her and look to Clem who sighed.
"I didn't know it was going to be that heavy." She mutters.
"Clem." I say and she sighed again.
"I know I know I just… I hate being the one needing help, you know this." She tells me and I rubbed my face with my free hand. The doctors come and get Clementine ready and I get up and we walk with her.
"Guess they were telling you they didn't want to be a bother." I joked and she looked at me and I pat her hand gently.
"I'm just joking." I tell her and she nods. We get to the hallway and I look to Clem.
"Do you want dad in there?" One nurse asked.
"Am I allowed?" I asked.
"Well not in the room but you can stay out in the other hallway." She says.
"Yes… please." Clem says and I nod and look to Hazel and Minerva as they wave to us and I go in with Clementine.
"Ok get ready." I hear and they take Clem to the other room and I stay in the hallway and wait. I wait and wait, for I don't know how long but I did hear the door open as I looked up to see the nurse and she smiled at me.
"Hey, want to meet them?" She asked and I nod as I get up quickly and they take me over the babies. I see them both wearing pink hats and swaddled in pink blankets.
"Both girls." I say and I wanted to hold them so I look around a bit and the nurse hands me a cleaning wipe and I smiled as I washed my hands a bit and then pick up one of the girls.
"How's my wife?" I asked.
"She is fine, they're just cleaning her up and we can take the babies to get checked up and then bring them to the room." The nurse says and I smiled as I set the girl down and rubbed the back of my neck.
"I need to make a few calls." I say and she nods as I head out the room. I head out to Minerva and Hazel and they look to me and I smiled.
"Two healthy girls, they're getting Clem ready and we can go see her." I explained.
"Oh, thank god." Minerva says and I smiled at them.
"I'm going to call my parents." I tell Minerva and I look to Hazel as she followed me and I make the calls.
"Vincent it's early something wrong?" I hear my mom ask.
"No, nothing wrong just that you and dad aren't here to see your granddaughters." I say.
"Oh my god the twins are here?" My mom asked excited.
"Yep, just born not that long ago, so whenever you guys can, you should come see them." I say to her.
"Oh my god, we will be there today, I mean we can see if we can come today." She says excited and I chuckled at this.
"Don't rush they aren't going anywhere soon." I tell her.
"Ok, ok, I'll let you go, take lots of photos please." She says and I nod.
"Ok, I love you." I tell her.
"Love you too sweetie." She says and I hang up and look to Hazel as he looked to the side a bit and I look back into the hospital.
"So, you're a big brother." I say to him.
"Yea." He says and I look to him.
"Are you ok?" I asked.
"Yea, I'm fine, I was really worried about Mama Clem." He says to me and I place my hand on his shoulder.
"She's fine now, you did good helping her." I tell him and he looked to me.
"But I was scared and she… she was trying to keep me calm and I just…. I'm sorry." He says and I pat his shoulder.
"Hey it's ok." I tell him.
"I'm sorry." He says and I look to him.
"Don't be." I say and we go into the hospital and to the room where Clementine and the twins were and I take Hazel to go look at the twins.
"Can I hold them?" He asked and I nod and help him hold the twins and he was sitting in the chair and I smiled and looked to see Minerva with her phone out.
"Get in there." She says and I roll my eyes and I take a seat next to Hazel and look to Minerva as she took the picture. I look to Hazel and the twins and smile as one of them yawns and I chuckled.
"Oh god the sleepless nights." I joke and look to Hazel.
"Sorry, I was a baby." He says and I laughed a bit.
"No, I mean…" I couldn't say anything and looked to Clementine.
"What your father means is that he doesn't want you to lose sleep… babies can get pretty loud and wake up at all hours of the night." Minerva explained and I nod at this.
"I can help." They say.
"No." I hear and I look to Clem and I chuckled at this.
"Mama Clem is right, can't help us, we need you to just be a good sibling to them." I tell him and he nods again. I get up and grabbed one of the twins and I go over to Clem as she holds her hands out and I hand the baby to her.
"Did you tell the nurse their names?" She asked.
"Oh crap." I mutter and just as I get up a nurse comes in with some papers.
"Sorry is the mom awake?" She asked and I nod and take a seat and she checks up on Clementine.
"So do you two have names for the little ones?" The nurse asked and I look to Clementine.
"Yes, the one my son is holding, her name is Patricia Marie Aldon." Clem says and I look at her and I feel tears prick my eyes and nod a bit.
"And the other one?" The nurse asked.
"Ester Ann Aldon." Clem says and I look to the baby in her arms.
"Alright, I just need you two to sign these." She says and I grabbed the papers and sign them and then Clem hands me Ester and she signs the papers too. She hands them to the nurse and I hand the baby back to Clem and she looked to her and I smiled a bit. The nurse leaves and I rubbed Clem's arm gently and I smiled.
"Patricia?" I asked and she nods.
"Your grandmother was a nice woman." Clem says and I nod again and I look to see that Lucia and Hazel were both asleep and Minerva is taking a photo and I smiled.
"My mom and dad are going to cry too." I say as I wipe my tears and look to Clem.
"I'm sorry." She says and I kissed her head.
"It's ok… Minerva said that one of the twins-." I try to say but then kept quiet as I look to her.
"They're fine just… when they looked, they thought the umbilical cord was wrapped around them but it's ok, they are both ok." She tells me and I nod and look to Ester.
"Either you or your sister gave me a heart attack." I joke as I look to her then back to Clementine. She looked tired and I gently take the baby from her and she looked to me and I kissed her cheek.
"I think Mama needs to get some sleep, don't you?' I say and look to Ester who was sleeping herself and I chuckled and looked back to Clementine.
"I'm ok." She says and I shake my head.
"Get some sleep please." I say and she looked to the side a bit and nods as she shut her eyes. I sat next to her and I look to Minerva and she looked to her phone for a bit. I go and take a seat next to her and she looked to Ester and smiled a bit as she set her phone down a bit and I smiled.
"So, Patricia and Ester hu?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea… they're cute as hell, I wish my grandma was here to see them." I say quietly and watched as Ester was falling asleep, so I get up and place her next to her sister and I go take a seat next to Minerva again.
"Are we… going to do the same thing that we are doing now… with Hazel?" She asked.
"We can but we have to explain to them that your parents… look your dad is ok I guess I feel bad for the man like our mom is the main issue." I tell her honestly.
"I get it my mom is a bitch." She says and I shush her and point to the twins.
"They won't know words for a while you can swear." Hazel says and I look to them and laughed a bit at this.
"I am not risking this; Clem would get mad at me, thank god your first word wasn't a swear." I tell them and they laughed a little at this.
-Two Weeks Later-
We had finally gotten home with the twins and my mom was just cooing at them in the back seat and I look over to Clem as she was turned around in the front seat looking at the twins as well.
"They are just adorable these little ones, Hazel was cute too, oh more grandbabies." My mom says and I chuckled.
"Ma is going to spoil them." I say.
"Well of course, they are my grandbabies I'm allowed to spoil all three of them." She says and I chuckled at this a bit.
"Well don't spoil them to much Ma, don't want them to think they can get everything they want… even though they can." I say the last part quietly and I look in the mirror a bit to see her smiling at the twins.
"Oh, let them be spoiled there is no harm, Vincent." Clem says as she turns back around in the seat and I smiled a bit. we get into the driveway of the house and I get out and stretched a bit before I went to help Clementine out and she smiled at me. I go to the door where one of the twins is seated and I grabbed the car seat as Clementine went and grabbed the other one.
"No, no I have this one, you need to rest Clem." My mom says and Minerva pulls up in the driveway and Hazel hurries up and grabbed Ester's car seat.
"I have her Mama." They tell her and she nods a bit to Hazel. We both take the twins inside and we set the car seats on the table and Hazel grabbed Ester out of her car seat and I grabbed Patricia.
"I want to show them their room." Hazel says and I chuckled as I looked to Clem and my mom as they look to us and I chuckled as Hazel takes Ester up to their room and I follow them. We looked around the room a bit and the walls were decorated with musical notes and some other instruments here and there painted on by Hazel. They take Ester over to the piano and started to explain what each instrument is called and I go up next to them.
"These notes actually play a song but it's in the form of a guitar I mean it sounds better for it to be played on the guitar, Papa taught me how to play it, and these notes sound great on the piano." Hazel explained as they pointed to the other side of the wall and I smiled at this.
"Papa played this for me last year, he's probably going to teach you too." They say quietly to them and I smiled at this. I looked to both the babies as they started to fall asleep and I look to Hazel as they look at their little sister and we place them in the cribs and we walked out after I played a soft lullaby on the small stereo I got for the room. I put the baby monitor on and we head out the room and I shut the door quietly and we go into the living room where I see Clem and my mom talking with Minerva as they sipped on some coffee.
"So, the twins are sleeping, we might get a wakeup call in an hour." I explained and Clem nods.
"I still can't believe they kind of played a joke on you two though." My mom says.
"Oh they might be little pranksters as they get older, I heard twins are more of the tricksters when they work together, get this a woman said that her twins once had one of them crying while the other snuck some snacks, and when they had them the one twin would stop crying and they just run off like nothing happened." Clementine says and I chuckled at this.
"I read that one other set of twins, would just copy other people, like they would jump from the porch onto a trampoline into their pool like the other adults would." I say as I take a seat next to Clementine.
"Oh my, they sound like a handful." My mom says and I chuckled.
"It's going to be ok, I doubt Pat and Ester will do all that… though I do think we should be careful around them." I say as I think a bit.
"Oh, I didn't mean to sound negative about it, I am sorry if I did." She says and I wave it off.
"Say where is dad?" I asked.
"Oh, so he had to go to Pennsylvania to help work on the new skyscraper for an upcoming company, I didn't really ask for details on it, but he says it was a great opportunity." My mom explained and I nod at this.
"That's great, I'm glad dad is doing good, if he wants to visit I can get him a plane ticket, but as long as it's not going to bother him." I tell her.
"Oh, I sent him plenty of pictures, he loves them already, he did say that when he gets the time he's going to come visit them." She explained and I nod at this.
"Oh, by the way Brody said her, Sophie and Ruby will be here in a few hours to meet the twins, the others will be here tomorrow, I was going to tell you before we left the hospital but you were busy." Minerva tells us and I nod.
"Alright that's nice to hear… hope Loui isn't that mad once he see's the babies room." I mutter a bit and looked to Clem who looked tired.
"Hey if you need to sleep you can go to bed." I say to her quietly and she nods and gets up and goes up to our room and I look to Minerva and my mom.
"Poor thing, you better help her Vincent." My mom tells me and I sputter a bit.
"You think I wouldn't? I helped with Hazel." I mutter and they both laughed.
"Right, right, remember when you had to change their diaper more than once in one day." My mom says and Hazel turns red and I chuckled at this.
"Don't worry son, I have way more embarrassing stories from my childhood." I tell them and they look at me and they smiled.
"Grandma can you tell me?" Hazel asked and I shrugged and looked to my mom.
"Alright, when your dad was a baby, he would always cry when his dad held him, couldn't get him to stop and your grandpa decided to set Vincent in his highchair and went to grab him a snack thinking he was hungry… well Vincent here thought it would be a great idea to grab your grandpa's car keys and chew on them." My mom says.
"Oh god not this one." I chuckled.
"What happened next?" Hazel asked.
"Well somehow your dad was able to get a key off of the ring and he ended up eating it, your grandfather didn't know when he grabbed the keys from your father… until he needed to go into the shed." My mom says and I roll my eyes a bit.
"He ate the key to the shed? What did you do?" Hazel asked.
"Oh goodness, I was freaking out and running around the house with your grandfather thinking he probably just threw the key, all the while your dad is sitting in his playpen chewing on some toy keys ironically… in the end we had to go to the hospital and your dad here decided it was time to just use his diaper for it's intended purpose, and there is the key." She tells them and I laughed at this.
"We still had him checked on but it was scary and yet funny." My mom says.
"Oh god dad you scared grandma." Hazel tells me and I chuckled and nodded.
"Oh, I've scared her plenty of times, remember when I took uncle Richards dirtbike when I was twelve, let me tell you everyone was freaking out when they saw me zoom past the window, well Molly and Jane were laughing their asses off but man did Grandpa and Grandma give me a long lecture on bike safety… next year for my birthday Grandpa ended up giving me my own dirtbike." I say and looked to my mom.
"Oh, dear lord and remember when we went to the lake with your grandparents and your grandfather was teaching you how to fish but you decided to jump out of his boat and go for a swim?" I hear my mom ask and I laughed at this.
"He was freaking out because he had already thrown his line out and didn't want me to get caught on the hook." I say and looked to Hazel who was smiling.
"What else has dad done?" They asked and I think.
"Remember when I was running away from the puppies because Jane put some dog treats in my back pocket?" I asked.
"Right, they ended up tackling your father to the ground in the end, hell they ended up ripping his pants by accident to get to the treats." My mom says and we all laughed at this. They talked for a while before I heard a knock on the door and I look to my watch.
"They're here already? Dang the twins are really quiet." I mutter and I get up and open the door to see Brody and the others.
"We brought gifts." Brody says holding a bag and I smile at this and nod as I let them in.
"I'm going to check on the twins, you all get relaxed in the living room." I tell them as they head into the living room.
"How is Clementine?" Ruby asked.
"She's sleeping too, she's in our room." I tell her and she nods. They all go take a seat in the living room and I go work on some lunch for everyone. Brody comes in and helps me with making the food as well and I smiled at her as we chatted a bit.
"So how I Hazel dealing with the twins?" She asked.
"Oh god they love the twins so much, they wanted to hold them all the time." I tell her and then I hear some crying on the baby monitor so I head over to the babies' rooms and I see Clementine in the room grabbing Patricia and I smiled as I clean my hands and get Ester and she looks over to me and I chuckled.
"Thank you." She says and I nod and she takes a seat and I hand her Ester.
"Brody, Sophie, and Ruby are here." I tell her as I take a seat next to her as she feeds the twins.
"Really?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea, when you finish we can take the twins to go see them." I say and she nods.
"That would be nice." She says and I kissed her cheek gently. When she finished up, I helped her with getting the twins ready and I grabbed both of them. She looked to me and I smiled at her as she rolled her eyes a bit and opens the door for me. I walked out and went over to the living room where I hear Ruby and Brody squeal a bit as they run up to us.
"Oh my god look at them they are adorable." Ruby says.
"Go wash your hands if you want to hold them." I say and they nod as they go do just that and I go take a seat on the couch and looked to Sophie as she comes and takes a seat next to me.
"They are cute." She says and I nod.
"Hey mom Autumn wants to come see the twins is that ok?" I hear Hazel ask.
"That's fine, is she going to stay over too?" I hear.
"If that's ok?" Hazel asked.
"Fine with me, go ask your dad too though." I hear and I turn to see Hazel looking at me.
"You know I can't say no." I tell them and they smile as they go and hurry up to their room.
"You spoil them." Clementine says and I smirked. I see Brody and Ruby come over and take a seat on the couch to my right. Clem grabbed Patricia from me and handed her to Brody and I handed Ester to Ruby gently.
"Oh, they are so small and cute." Brody says and I chuckled.
"Don't stroke Vincent's ego, he's got a big head as it is." Clem says.
"Hey now, they mostly have your genes so it's your ego they should be worried about." I joked and Brody laughed at this.
"So, Mrs. Aldon, how was the trip up?" Sophie asked.
"It was nice, was able to take time off to see these two, and Hazel I got to spend time with them as well." She tells her and I lean back a bit.
"So, what are their names?" Ruby asked.
"Brody is holding Patricia, or Pat, and you are holding Ester." Clementine explained.
"Patricia… isn't that-." Brody stops as she looked to me and I nod at this.
"Yep, named after her great grandma, Clem gave her the name." I tell them as I looked to the twins and then there was some running up the stairs and I look to see Hazel running down.
"Dad, can we go get Autumn?" Hazel asked and I looked to Clem and I nod.
"Sure, too many girls in this house anyway." I joke and Sophie hits my shoulder and I laughed.
"Just remember That woman gave you these two girls right here." Brody says as she looked over to Clem and I nod.
"Oh of course, how can I forget my wife and mother of my children, and might I add a great cook." I say.
"Oh, so if I cook better than Clem, you'd want me as a wife?" Ruby joked.
"Thinking about it now, he would marry Omar if that was the case." Clementine laughed out and I chuckled.
"Alright Champ, let's get your girlfriend." I say.
"She isn't my girlfriend." They mutter and I rubbed their head a bit as we head on out. We settle in my car and I follow the directions Hazel gave me and I look to them.
"Can we use He/Him pronouns?" They asked and I nod.
"Of course, Champ." I say as we stopped at a light.
"Even… around Autumn?" He asked and I nod.
"Only if you feel comfortable." I tell him and he nods at this. We finally get to Autumns house and I watch as Hazel jumps out the car and I chuckled a bit as I get up and follow him as we get to the house. He knocks on the door and Autumns mom opens the door and I smiled at her.
"Hello, Hazel was wanting to know if Autumn could meet the twins." I explained.
"Oh yes, Autumn was talking about Hazels new sisters, are you sure she is able to spend a few nights?" She asked as Autumn and Hazel ran to the car and I look to her mom.
"Oh yes it's fine with us we can bring her back at the end of the week if that's ok." I tell her and she nods.
"Alright oh also here's some money-."
"No, it's alright, Hazel wanted her to come over and we agreed, it's fine." I tell her.
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nod at this.
"Of cour-."
"COME ON DAD!" Hazel yelled and I laughed a bit and looked to Autumns mom and she nods. I head on down to the car and we head back to the house.
"Oh, and if you want to hold them make sure to wash your hands dad says we have to." He explained to her.
"Oh, just like my baby sister, she was born really early too." I hear Autumn explain and I kept driving. When we finally get to the house and parked the car Hazel and Autumn jump out and run inside and I get out as well and head over to the front door where I see Clementine holding Ester who was crying and Patricia looks like she's going to cry and I go over to Clementine.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Nothing bad happened I think they are just getting tired again… and maybe hungry." Clem mentions and I nod and Brody hands me Patricia and we head up to the room where Clementine took a seat on the rocking chair and I handed the baby to her.
"I'll get started on dinner." I tell her.
"Oh your mom and I got it started it should be done in twenty minutes." She tells me and I nod.
"Ok, heh… oh by the way Autumn will be staying here for a few days if that's ok?" I asked her.
"Of course it's ok, she's welcomed here for as long as she wants, oh if Hazel and Autumn want to see the babies they're going to have to wait a little longer." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Yea little ones need to sleep after a big meal." I joke and she laughed a little. Ester finishes her food and I grab her gently and burped her. Patricia finished up as well and Clementine burped her and we set them in the crips and I play their little mobile again and we walk out. I look to see Hazel as he looked to us.
"Sorry Champ they are in bed, they might wake up again soon." I tell him and he nods.
"Ok, Autumn and I are going to play on the game system in the living room." He says and I nod.
"Just keep the volume down is all." I say and he nods as they hurry down to the living room and Clem and I go to the kitchen and we finish up the dinner.
