Author note: Hey all sorry for taking so long to upload. This chapter was supposed to come out in the first week of February but I was busy distracting myself with and cold war zombies. Aside from that, I must say that the last chapter's vote came in with a resounding yes for M-rated content. With that in mind, I will have some of that in this story but before then its rating will stay at T until a chapter containing the goods arrives.

Anywho let's get this started.

"Don't trust the clown."

That phrase kept repeating in Subaru's mind, he didn't know why Elsa told him this but he assumed that it was important. Considering that she made an effort to keep her words with him discrete, it was probably a good idea to keep this piece of information handy.

There was the possibility that it was just a joke. Like one of those folktales that you tell kids, so they would be easier to control like the boogeyman or Krampus. Or maybe there was an evil clown that could manifest under beds and nibble your toes off while you were sleeping.

Could it be here now? Patiently waiting for him to fall asleep, completely unaware of the impending danger. Subaru slowly creeps over towards his bed and mentally braces himself for what he might find.

"FOUND YOUUU!" Subaru suddenly drops down to foil the evil clown's plan but is met with nothing. Subaru's face falls before he is overcome with embarrassment. He clamps his mouth shut with his hands and rolls back and forwards along the floor, all the while spitting curses into his hands.

He was being an idiot again and he hoped to God that no one heard him. Of course, there were no supernatural clowns that went around eating people's toes while they were sleeping. This was probably revenge for that joke that he pulled.

After a few moments, Subaru recovers from his embarrassment and plops onto the bed. He remembers the look that Elsa had on her face when he teased her and determines that she wasn't trying to play a trick on him. She was out of touch in regards to the joke, so he doubted that was her intention.

It was his fault that he misinterpreted it because of his overactive imagination. Now that was clear, Subaru still didn't know what she was referring to but he came to the conclusion that he wasn't in any immediate danger. If that were the case he doubted that Elsa would leave him here completely defenseless. Still, that left one thing, how exactly did he feel about her. Now that he had the time to ponder he could ask himself this question. When he first was summoned to this world he was saved by Emilia. Her beauty and otherworldly grace made him immediately develop feelings for her.

...That and the fact that she was the only thing a NEET like him could ask for. You see, back at his old place, he was kind of a sucker for silver-haired elves. His room had been filled with them. He had figurines, posters, manga, and anime-for fucks sake he was obsessed with them! He was surprised that his parents never complained about him wasting money and buying useless junk like that instead of going to school. The most that he's ever gotten for it was probably some off-handed comment he could find a nice girl at school.

What he felt Elsa was different.

He had gotten a taste of this world and dove in headfirst to save Emilia. Unfortunately, he found out that he was quite useless in that regard. Not only did he die three times already but he was also on his way out. He was up against an enemy that exceeded him in both speed, strength, and overall battle sense. He and Emilia were being toyed with! Merely entertainment in a game of cat and mouse.

Subaru remembered the feeling of dread grasping his heart as his inevitable doom approached. The executioner's blade rose and Subaru was certain that he was going to be forced to reset again.

To fall back into death's encompassing embrace. To be forced to begin the cycle of death once more.

That was before she appeared. A feminine silhouette darting through the room and striking his would-be 3rd-time killer. Upon seeing that his savior he was confused but more importantly he was glad.

Glad that someone had come to his rescue and saved him from his cruel fate.

He remembered the fight vividly. Although the bowel hunter had become nothing more than a black blur and flying sparks, Elsa was static nearly the whole time. Her fighting style was oddly smooth and graceful. So much in fact that if it weren't for the battle going on, you would have confused it for dancing.

Subaru found the sight captivating. He watched the seemingly unstoppable bowel hunter get picked apart by Elsa in awe. It didn't take Subaru a long time to realize why he felt this way.

It was because he admired her strength.

After the fighting was over Subaru was happy to find out that she was also from another world. He had someone that he could relate to and share the awkwardness of being ripped from your world. Then teen recalled seeing her face after that.

Her dark purple eyes were radiating with affection for him and it didn't help that she was pressing her body against his. Not long after she revealed that she was in the same situation as him, she went and claimed his lips. Subaru felt his face heat up when he remembered how soft her lips were, especially after being reminded by that peck on his cheek.

You see, Natsuki Subaru was a simple person. He liked people that liked him. That coupled with Elsa constantly showering him with affection was truly a recipe for disaster. The teen simply couldn't get his hot bodyguard off of his mind. Not after everything, she's done.

Now, this is why his situation was conflicting for him. He was pretty sure he liked Emilia, but at the same time, he liked Elsa.

Who did he like more?

Unfortunately for the Return By Death user, his mind had wondered about these thoughts for far too long and he ended up staying pretty damn late.

-Line break-

"Mmh" The teen groaned as the bright rays of sunlight beaming down his face woke him up. Subaru puts his hand over his face to avoid it from getting into his eyes. However, instead of getting up, he rolls over on his side to get away from the light.

"Sister, sister. Our guest appears to be exceptionally lazy." A voice whispered

"Sister, sister. Please don't be rude. Our guest can sleep as much as he pleases." The other replied.

Now half-awake Subaru slowly pulls himself up into a sitting position to see who is in his room. The teen rubs his eyes tiredly before looking for the source of those voices.

"..." Subaru blinks slowly as he sees and recognizes the two maids in front of him. 'Ah, so it wasn't a dream. I am really in another world with the power to turn back time.'

"Yatta!" With his earlier fatigue forgotten the teen hopped up on top of the bed sending the bedsheets flying. His arms are spread as if he was welcoming something with a smile on his face.

"Good morning world!" The teen shouts before posing for both the pink and blue-haired maids. "Good morning cute maids!"

"It's almost afterno-" Rem starts to say but she gets interrupted by her sister.

"Good morning Subaru-sama. How was your rest?" The Ram asked politely.

"It was great! The beds are really comfortable. Although I didn't sleep much because I was thinking of Emilia-tan and Elsa-chan."

"I told you he was a pervert, my sister." He looks at the blue maid and instantly realizes his blunder.

'Oh...I said that out loud didn't I?'

"H-hey I thought we went over this name-calling thing!?" Subaru says to Rem with his face slightly tinged red in embarrassment. Ram nudges her with her shoe as if she was telling him to. As this was happening, the door to the room opened. Subaru turns his attention to the door and she's the silver-haired half-elf named Emilia.

"Is everything alright in here?" She asked with a concerned present on her features. Rem sees an opportunity and pounces before Subaru could say anything, "That man admitted to violating you with his mind Emilia-sama. Stay away from him or he might try to enact his repulsive desires."

"Rem," Emilia said simply with a frown on her face. Rem looks over at her sister and notices that she was giving her a similar look of disapproval. Seeing that she is outnumbered the blue-haired maid finally relents.

"Sorry, Emilia-sama. It won't happen again," She says with a formal bow.

Nudge

Rem had to suppress a frown from forming on her features as she faces the Return by Death user.

"I'm sorry Subaru-sama. I'll try my best to avoid making comments that could be considered presumptuous."

"Although that was a good-sounding apology, I have trouble believing that she's being sincere…" Subaru says to himself out loud. He looks at Rem while holding his chin in a thinker's pose as if he was considering accepting her response. All of this was just for dramatic effect really, he had already made up his mind the moment those words left her lips. After a moment of silence, Subaru sighs before looking at Rem.

"Fine, I accept your apology tsundere maid." The teen says defeated before crossing his arms. The three girls look at him in confusion after hearing that unfamiliar word.

"Tundere?" Emilia butchers the word while looking at Subaru with a questioning gaze.

"Subaru, are you being mean to Rem?" Her eyes narrowed like how they did when she accused him of stealing her insignia in his first loop. Naturally, Subaru feels his heart squeeze at the sight.

'She's so cute when she's trying to act serious!' He squeals so himself.

Or at least he thought he did.

"You are being mean! Subaru, stop joking around," The half-elf reprimands him with a frown.

"I'm not joking Emilia-tan." Emilia furrowed her eyebrows but then heard the unfamiliar suffix Subaru added to the end of her name.

Looking at her expression, Subaru knew what she would ask next so he answered first.

"Man this cultural barrier kinda sucks," The teen said with a sigh. "Think nothing of that last remark," Subaru said before hopping off the bed.

"I was going to go outside to speak with the lesser spirits and I was wondering if you could accompany me, Subaru?"

"Sure thing!" Subaru said while flashing a thumbs up. "I just need to get my...clothes?" He looks to where he last put his tracksuit before he went to sleep. "Huh? What the hell? Where did tracksuit go?"

After looking for a moment, he turns his attention back to the maids. They were in his room before he had woken up so they could have something to do with it.

"Did you guys do anything with my tracksuit?"

"Tracksuit? Do you mean that strange attire that you showed up in? It wasn't there when my sister and I got here so we don't have the faintest clue, Subaru-sama," Not trusting what her sister would say, Ram answered for both herself and Rem.

What the hell happened to his clothes then? Subaru was sure that no one had entered his room at night because he was up for most of it. These maids had no clue where it was and she had said it in a way that implied that they haven't been here for long. Emilia literally just arrived moments ago so she couldn't have done anything to his clothes. Knowing this there were only a couple of things that could have happened.

He was too occupied with thinking about both Elsa-chan and Emilia-tan that he misplaced them.

The maid was lying and took his clothes for some unknown reason.

The evil clown stole them.

"Are there evil clowns that steal clothes Emilia-tan?" He asked without really thinking. Emilia looks at the boy strangely at that remark before telling him that there's no such thing.

So left possibility A and B. Subaru finds it hard to believe the pink maid was lying to him because she was awfully polite and nice in comparison to the blue one. Also what reason would she have to take it in the first place? He couldn't think of a reason why she would take his clothes so he dismissed the idea.

That left only option A.

"Well, looks like I forgot where I put it." The teen said with a groan. That was his favorite and only outfit from his world. Emilia could see that that outfit was important to him and had some sentimental value to it so made her feel bad for him.

"Well, no use crying over spilled milk I guess. Anyway, don't you have lesser spirits you should be seeing?"

"O-oh yeah just follow me," Emilia replied while being slightly surprised at how fast he was able to bounce back.

Emilia leaves the room and Subaru follows in suit. At first, Subaru was walking next to her until his pace started to slow and he slipped behind. Upon noticing him falling behind, Emilia turned around to see what he was doing and saw that he was staring at the time telling crystals.

"Huh? Weren't these things a different color yesterday? Did you guys change them overnight?"

"We don't change them overnight. Their colors change depending on the time of day." She explained to the confused teen. At this point, she was really thinking about where he came from. The boy always seemed intrigued by everything that was happening around him. Even things that would seem trivial such as these time crystals. That also made her think about his age. His body seemed to be on the mature side of things but his personality was the complete opposite. He always seemed to be loud and eccentric however Emilia didn't find these aspects annoying. This was a much-needed break from this mansion occupance that only interacted with her in a strictly professional capacity.

By this time Subaru had already caught back up to her and noticed her staring at him.

"Is there something on my face Emilia-tan?" the girl's cheeks flush she realized what she was doing.

Subaru gasped overdramatically when he saw the half-elf's flushed face.

"C-could it be? Emilia-tan is captivated by my handsome appearance?!"

"No, I'm not. I was just thinking about something," She answered honestly while recovering from her earlier embarrassment.

"Oof! Shot down immediately!" He holds his chest as if he's been wounded. Seeing his eccentrics again, Emilia has to stifle a laugh.

"Subaru are you perhaps an actor?"

"Nope. I'm one hundred percent homegrown!"

The two of them share a short laugh and Emilia finds herself staring at the odd boy again.

'He's strange...but I could get used to it.'

-Line break-

"Woaaah." Subaru's seen this once already but seeing the gathering of lesser spirits inspired a sense of awe. Subaru considered himself lucky to witness this in person. From his encounter with the alleyway thugs, he was able to deduce that spirit users were not a commodity in this world. As he continued to watch the spectacle unfolding in front he noticed that a couple of the lesser spirits broke off from the rest and zip over towards him.

'Hi, mister!'

'Who are you?'

'Oooh, he has scary eyes!'

The 3 of the bubbling lesser spirits crowded him.

"My name is Natsuki Subaru, what brings you little guys to me?" Subaru asked curiously. The spirits pause for a moment like they were thinking about something.

'I don't know.'

'I felt like getting closer.'

'Uhhhh.'

Seeing that they were having difficulty answering the question decided to move past the question. Their voices and mannerism seemed to be like that of a child so he assumed the reason they came to him was simply that they were curious. The teen continued to indulge the spirits as they began to zip around his form. Since he was good with children these lesser spirits were exceptionally easy for him to handle.

After a couple of minutes of playing with the spirits, he caught a glimpse of Emilia coming towards him. The teen shifts his body to face her and waves. Emilia notices the lesser spirits and grins.

"Wow, Subaru you didn't tell me that you were experienced with spirits!"

"I'm not actually. This is my first time handling them."

"That's even more impressive."

"Really? I mean of course! That's just the kind of guy I am." Subaru says with his chin up in an attempt to show off which causes Emilia a good belly laugh. After a few moments, she recovers and notices that he's oddly quiet.

"Is there something wrong Subaru?"

"I was just admiring your beauty Emilia-tan"

Emilia huffs before turning her back on Subaru.

"Stop playing with me Subaru."

'Ugh, this again,' The teen groaned in his mind. What was up with this girl and not being able to receive compliments?

"Boo!"

Puck suddenly materializes and startles Subaru and his lesser spirits. The lesser spirits scatter and Subaru is left reaching out for them.

"Hey, where are you going guys? It's just Puck."

"Puck…" Emilia says in a disappointed manner.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself, Lia." The great spirit said with a sly grin.

"I didn't do it without reason though. I wanted to talk to Subaru without those pesky little guys bothering us." Puck explained.

"Anyways I'm glad that you kept my daughter safe when I ran out of time. Is there anything that you'd like as a reward?"

"A reward? Hmm… I can only think of one thing, let me pet your fur whenever I want." He said after a moment of delay.

"That's it? That's really all you want?"

"Yep! However, I'm going to have to cut our chat short."

"What? Why?" Emilia said with a frown on her face.

Subaru scratched the back of his head nervously.

"Yeah sorry. I wish I could stay here with you two a little longer. I actually wanted to show you some of my warm-ups but I haven't seen Elsa-chan at all this morning." Subaru explained to the half-elf.

"Actually before I go, can I ask you something?" Emilia nods her head before the boy continues.

"Can we be friends Emilia-tan?"

Emilia's eyes widened in disbelief.

"S-Subaru you shouldn't say things like that so lightly. Even if you're not serious."

'Damn this thing again, Why can't she just accept anything?'

"He's being a genuine Lia. I don't sense any malice behind his words," Puck suddenly added.

"Eh?! But I'm a half-elf..."

"Why does that matter?" Subaru said. He honestly didn't get why she said that like it was a bad thing.

"You don't understand. I share the same race as the Witch of Envy. A long time ago she hurt and killed a lot of people. She covered the land in her shadow and almost ended the world. Even though she's been sealed away, her actions still affect people to this day," Emilia revealed. She closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable scorn that she would receive.

However, those hateful words that she was used to never came.

"Why does being the same race as her mean that you can't have friends?"

"Because...She's evil."

"Are you evil?" The teen said simply.

"No!" Emilia denied vehemently.

"Then you should have friends."

"But I look like her."

"But you're not her, right?" Emilia nods in agreement to his question.

"So let me ask you this again. Can we be friends Emilia-tan?" Subaru offers his hand. She looks down at the gesture but her vision starts to get blurred. Emilia realizes it because of the tears welling up in her eyes before she is unable to stop herself from sobbing.

You useless moron! This was the second girl he made cry and it hasn't even been here for more than 3 days!

"Emilia-tan…"

"Don't...worry about me...I'm just so...happy," she wipes the tears from her eyes as she speaks between sobs.

Subaru is patient and waits for her to regain her bearings.

"Yes…" She clasps both of her hands around one of his own.

"Let's be friends Subaru."

"Am I your only friend Emilia-tan?"

Emilia doesn't trust her voice so she nods her head to answer.

"Then that means by default that I'm your-" Subaru said before backing up before striking a pose. "Best friend!" Emilia felt her lip quiver but she was able to stop herself from crying again.

He flashes her a grin before he starts walking away.

"See you later Emilia-tan!" Puck looks at Subaru's retreating form and feels an overwhelming sense of gratitude takes hold of him.

'You said exactly what she needed to hear.' Puck of course was looking into his emotions when and was able to tell that the boy was being 100 percent truthful. The boy did have a strange scent hanging around that made Puck suspicious of him but he melted away all of those doubts. First by saving his daughter, second by his reward choice, and last being what he did moments ago.

Emilia was able to hold out until Subaru got into the mansion but as soon as he was out of sight the poor half elf's legs gave out and fell onto the grass. Emilia was still reeling from what he said. What she had just experienced was a kindness never shown and it shook the foundations of her world.

Who would have thought that a silver-haired half-elf would ever have a friend? Or a best friend at that?

'You've shown my daughter a kindness that this cruel world would have never given her, and for that I thank you.'

-Line break-

'Well, that went better than expected,' Subaru reflected on the events that just transpired. He thought he had messed up when she started crying but instead ended up with an overwhelming victory. However, something ticked him off. Who made her think that she didn't deserve any friends? And her reactions to his praises and compliments did she think he was joking because no one had told her that before? Subaru had to thank Puck for the save because didn't say anything, Emilia would have believed that he was just screwing with her.

"That bullshit," Subaru murmured to himself as he made his way to the guest bedrooms. The people that made her believe in those lies need to get their head out of their asses. Why did she need to be punished just because of someone else's crimes? She hasn't done a thing.

His mental rant comes to an end as he arrives at the guest rooms. He starts by opening the first room past his and sees that there is no sign that this room has ever been occupied so he closes the door. He does the same to the next one and the one after that and finds out that they were in the same state as the first. He thought the maids might have cleaned up after them so he wouldn't be able to check just by glancing. To confirm this he backtracked to his room but once he got close to he felt something strange.

'That's odd, it didn't feel like when I walked past it the first time.'

He opens and enters but instead of being in his room, he finds himself in a library. The room is many times larger than it should have been, and there are many of the books that should be on the shelves are instead stacked in seemingly random places on the floor.

"How rude, in fact." Subaru's eyes drifted to the source of the voice and saw a young girl in a frilled red dress sitting in the center of the room. She has long cream-colored hair that's tied into two twin drills and atop her head sat a small crown.

He was going to ask her if she was lost but realizes that she's got her nose buried in a book and because of this he assumes that she's familiar with this place.

"You've wandered into the Forbidden Library. Leave and stop bothering Betty, in fact."

"But...my room was supposed to be here."

"The Forbidden Library is currently taking up the space your room would. Now if you leave and close the door your room will reappear, in fact." She explains without taking her eyes off of her book.

"Oh, okay." Subaru starts walking to the door to test if what she said was true. Unfortunately for him, a certain smell reaches the girl's nose. Just as he's about to step out the door slams in his and causes him to jump.

"Wait there, I suppose." He hears the girl say from behind him. He turns to see her closing her book and starts closing the distance between them.

"Hey now, I haven't done anything wrong..." the teen said with his hands raised in a surrendering manner

"If you were looking for your room why did you start with the others, I wonder?"

"I was looking for someone." By the time those words left his lips she was right in front of him.

"Don't you dare move." She says with a glare that causes a shiver to go down his spine.

"Please don't hurt me…" He mutters helplessly with his back pressed flat against the door. She reaches out with one of her small hands and presses it on his stomach. For a moment, he feels nothing but the pressure of someone's palm pressed against his stomach.

In the next moment, he experiences absolute agony.

The teen's body goes rigid as he screams because white-hot pain racks his body. It was so intense that he couldn't stop the tears from rolling out of his eyes. However, as quickly as the pain came, it stopped. Subaru's limbs feel like jelly as he slides down it and slumps forward.

"Not a threat, I suppose."

"What did you do to me?"

"I've merely disrupted the flow of mana in your body. By doing so I've determined that you're not a threat, in fact." The drill-haired loli explained.

"You're not human, are you?" He said while barely hanging onto his consciousness.

Before she can respond the room simmers.

"I'm being summoned, in suppose."

She looks at Subaru's slumped form against the door and sighs.

"I can't have you in the Forbidden Library while I'm gone so you're coming with me, in fact." He grabs one of the teen's hands and starts to correct his flow of mana.

He feels a bit of energy return to his body so he starts to get up. The motion itself normally would be effortless but not it felt like it took almost everything he had to make his limbs move.

She opens the door and exits the library with Subaru. He is surprised that the girl is keeping her pace slow. Given her personality, he thought that she would have been dragging him along like a slave driver.

"This your way of saying sorry?"

"Betty is walking at this pace because she was focusing on something so be quiet, in fact."

'Another tsundere maybe?' He said in his mind.

"It's alright I forgive you, Betty. It was my fault for wandering around and looking into rooms that weren't mine."

"You will not refer to Betty in such a casual manner! You will refer to Betty as Beatrice, in fact!"

"Okay, Beako." Beatrice glares that Subaru. He notices that she didn't verbally deny his nickname of choice.

"Sorry, after hearing that I couldn't use that cute nickname, I got jealous and made up one of my own if that's okay with you."

"Betty would be okay if you decided to stop talking, I suppose." She turns her head to hide flushed cheeks as she does her best to appear upset.

By the time these two exchange words Subaru is feeling a lot better than he was earlier. By a lot better he meant that he was perfectly fine. Whatever Beatrice did worked quite well. He wasn't sure if she knew he was okay now and decided to keep holding his hand or if she was still correcting her mistake.

Whatever the case was Subaru decided not to comment on it.

They reached the dining room and Subaru saw Emilia sitting at the table. The silver-haired half-elf sees Subaru and offers him a smile. Before Subaru could respond to the gesture someone spoke.

"Who would have thought that our resident great spirit would get along so well with our new guest?" When this was spoken Beatrice seemed to finally notice that she was still holding on to Subaru's hand. She quickly wrenches her and out of his grasp and denies the accusation and bickers with the man.

However, Subaru didn't react as he saw who was sitting at the end of the table.

"EVIL CLOOOWN!" Subaru shouts as he starts to turn and run. Just as he was about to go through with this action, he notices that Emilia hasn't made any move to get away from the threat sitting in the room. Realizing this Subaru runs over to Emilia and grabs on to her hand.

"What are you doing Emilia?! Get up! Hurry we need to get out of here before he eats our toes and steals our clothes!"

"Subaru...that man is actually-"

"It's okaaay Emilia-sama. I'll be the one to introduce myself. My name is Roswaal L Mathers and this wooonderful place is my domain, Subaruu-kun."

"Oh," Following awkward silence Subaru sits down next to Emilia and pretends like nothing like happened. There he goes thoroughly humiliates himself like he did on his first day of high school.

After a couple of minutes of laughter from Puck and an awkward apology from Subaru, Roswaal gets on the topic about Subaru's deeds.

"Emilia-sama has put quite the good word in for you, Subaru-kuun."

Huh? Why was the lord of this manor referring to Emilia in such a way?

"Emilia-sama?"

"Ah yesss, I was told that you were ignorant of this land so I suppose this is an appropriaaate time to educate you on the matteeer. You see, the country of Lugnica is without a kiiing and Emilia-samaaa is a candidate to be its next ruuuler. Howeeever our efforts to make her king would have been all for naught if her insigniaaa was lost. Luuuckily for us, you came in and helped her get it back." Roswaal explains before he continues.

"It's almost too good. Appearing right where you're needed and retrieving Emilia's insignia. Almost as if you were a political spyy attempting to work his way into the Emilia camp's good graces" He says offhandedly like he has him figured out.

Subaru suddenly felt like he was thrown into a hot seat as he was put on the spot.

'Holy shit, I totally am suspicious!'

The clown laughs, catching Subaru's attention.

"Noow don't be alarmed, Subaru-kuun. I'm merely jesting. You see, Puck here told me that you held no malicious intent in your heart so I know you aren't a threat to our safety."

Subaru released a breath that he didn't realize he was holding.

"It's also come to my attennntion that you have no money to your name and that you have no place to staaay. Fortunately for you, with both Emilia-sama and Puck giving me such good impressions of you I don't have any problem with granting you residencyyy in my manooor."

Emilia's eyes brightened as Roswaal said those words and she looked over to the Subaru.

'She looks psyched but something's missing…'

"What about Elsa-chan?" Just as those words left his lips he heard a door open.

"Speak of the devil," the clown says with a grin.

The maids from earlier come in holding platters of food along with a familiar face that he was looking for all morning. But the thing that catches Subaru's eyes is what she's wearing. Like both Rem and Ram, Elsa wore a gothic maid outfit.

Subaru was surprised, to say the least. The outfit complemented her feminine figure well, he was definitely a fan of those thigh-high stockings that did wonders showing off her long slender legs. As his eyes traveled upwards Subaru eventually realized that those affectionate purple eyes were locked on him with a seemingly smug glint in them. Like she was satisfied with the reaction she got from him.

As if it was on cue, Elsa flashed him a wink that made his heart ripple with desire.

"Everyone I would like for you all to meet our newest maid working under the Mathers family mansion and will be acting as Subaru-kuun's personal handmaaaiden," The clown intones before gesturing to the woman.

"Lisa Lochiert!"

-Chapter End-

Author note: This was quite a fun chapter to write. As you guys probably noticed this was a Subaru centeric chapter for obvious reason. I couldn't just give you guys Elsa- or should I say Lisa's contract from the get-go! I think hiding the fact is far more interesting. There are some hints in this chapter so you guys are free to guess what the conditions of the contract are. I'm curious to see how close you can get because one of you guys predicted the maid outfit, Also did you know Subaru has a 9/10 in spirit affinity? I thought that it was crazy that Subaru seeming hasn't had lesser spirit or spirits, in general, tried to contact him considering it was that abnormally high.
