Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of War of the Waves. Enjoy the 2500-word chapter. I don't own Azur Lane, Shanghai Manjuu, Ximen Yongshi, and a few others do.
(Eagle Union)
If Leviathan was worried about the enemy? He didn't show it. He felt like this place wasn't even in time with anywhere else.
"Are you… Ok?" Tirpitz asked while she started to tap her fingers on the wall. "What do we do next?" Tirpitz questioned to which her friend was silent.
Leviathan didn't know what Bismarck would do if given control of the Ironblood military… And he was here with her sister while this happened.
"Yes," Leviathan stated while he slowly rotated towards her. "Just not used to all… This." Leviathan added and sighed while planting a hand on his temples.
"I don't know if my sister would risk the entire Ironblood empire for something like me," Tirpitz stated while she started to drum her fingers next to herself on the wall.
"You're a very important woman, Tirpitz," Leviathan stated while he cleared his throat. "Your sister is lucky to have someone who can fight and lead them into combat," Leviathan added before he closed his eyes.
He wasn't stupid on things like this. He knew that the ship on which the woman he spoke was based did not end well. If that history was intact in this reality? Then it was something that probably led to part of her personality.
'I'd be mad and constantly annoyed if I died in the cold with nothing to show for it.' Leviathan thought to himself.
He turned to her. Leviathan didn't believe the Ironblood were as evil as their counterparts. There didn't seem to be any genocide, any massive enslavement, no loss of life.
Tirpitz smiled and tilted her head to the side. He refused to think of this woman as an enemy when it came down to it. if she was an enemy? He'd handle her as best as he was able to. Leviathan didn't plan on enjoying it, however.
"What do you want to do next?" Tirpitz heard from her friend while she raised an eyebrow. "They haven't said something bad about you, yeah?" Leviathan questioned and scratched at his neck.
He didn't like being around the Eagle Union considering they seemed to be focused entirely on destroying Ironblood. He didn't want them to hurt Tirpitz whom he considered more of a friend than the woman who seemed to want answers he didn't have.
"No. They didn't. There is something I wanted to ask at the moment if that's ok." Tirpitz responded while she nodded and looked around. "You talked a lot about our counterparts back in your dimension. They weren't anything like us, right?" Tirpitz asked to which her friend frowned.
That wasn't the question he wanted to answer. It wasn't at all what he wanted her to ask him, but he supposed he owed the answer to her at the moment more than anything else… If only the bits and pieces he could say.
"No. They aren't ANYTHING like the Ironblood, Tir." Leviathan responded while he shook his head. "They weren't good people like you are. There were a lot of people they hurt. People whom those copies thought were trash compared to them. I wish I could say differently, but they aren't good people at ALL." Leviathan added to which the woman frowned.
Leviathan took a deep sigh while this happened. The last thing he wanted was for Tirpitz to think she was the enemy. He didn't want her to think that there was anything wrong with her compared to their counterparts.
"Tir. You're not them. They weren't even… Like we are. They had a ship named you and your sister, but that's it." Leviathan stated while he held up his hands in surrender. "You're not a monster from what I saw. That also doesn't make you an enemy like this." Leviathan stated to which her friend nodded to herself.
He turned and then started to think of what to do next. If their issues continued to rise like this? It would spiral like a grenade in the air and explode just as well. It didn't help that nobody wanted to help each other before it came time for their battles.
Still? He had all reason to help them to the best of his skill. He was a soldier and this was what a decent soldier did at the end of the day.
There was another small frown as he started to think of his problems. If they did something where they stepped out of line? They ended up crossing a line and this war would go from them fighting the Ironblood and their enemies… To a one-sided slaughter that benefited nobody.
He was well aware neither side had any reason to aid the other when it came down to it. Their small squabbles seemed to spill into the larger battlefields.
'Winning one battle is easy. Winning a war where the odds are constantly shifting? It will be a long war before we manage to fight back properly.' Leviathan mentally stated with annoyance.
He crossed his arms and considered his options. He was able to convince the others at least not to kill each other as it made no sense for their sides to be at war without a good option. He almost wished it was easier to combine each of their armies into a unified force against their enemies. He supposed if they HAD by now, they'd probably have stopped their enemy and their plans.
He couldn't entirely blame them as they had been enemies for a few years and it'd be odd to simply discard that. There was also the fact that the Sirens had messed with their memories. It would explain why the Sirens seemed to constantly think so little of their old enemies if they were able to simply wipe their enemies out without killing them.
'Why kill anything that can be turned to the other side and aid you? It's a typical military tactic. I'd wonder how many times it has to fail yet, and now? They had delays in their forces. The longer it ended with failures and yet they continued to try it.' Leviathan added with a frown on his face.
Still? He had plenty of time when they did it. He frowned before he shook his head as he frowned to himself. There was almost nowhere else to go and almost nothing else for him to do.
He sighed and slowly stood to his feet while he shook his head. There was more time for him to plan how to turn this war around and start to plan how to rip apart Ironblood or turn them to his side. He was rather interested in what to do next as he started to slowly march across the world.
"I'm starting to wonder what to do next." Tirpitz heard from Leviathan who started to think of how her sister was to be stopped before he did something. "We need to strike while they are still recovering," Leviathan stated while he frowned to himself.
Tirpitz was well aware of what to do next at the end of the day. She watched her friend pace back and forth when it came down to it. He was rather interested in ending this war peacefully when it came to their politics.
"I want to think Ironblood has some code of honor when it came down to it," Leviathan stated while he frowned to himself. "Tir? I don't think your sister is evil at the end of the day. I don't think she's open to talking, is she?" Leviathan asked while he closed his eyes before he started to pace back and forth in the sand.
Tirpitz nodded before she tapped her fingers against each other. She cleared her throat before she started to speak once more. She leaned on the wall before she did so. It was so vexing in her mind when she was around Levithan who had been nice and kind to her. He was not a soldier in her mind. He was a person when she turned her thoughts towards him. She was happy around him. Tirpitz spoke a second later with a smile on her face for a few moments.
"She isn't someone who wants to submit to anyone that she doesn't think is her equal," Tirpitz stated while she frowned to herself. "She respects strength and valor when this war happened. I don't know if she was forced into it." Tirpitz added while she nodded at the idea her sister wasn't a monster at the end of the day.
Still? It took a lot to snap her from these thoughts and slowly shift her to their way of think. There were plenty of times when she had tried to speak to her sister before and it bothered her at the moment.
Was there simply no end to the type of damage they were able to pull with her sister and friends? Were they all to be test subjects to the Sirens? Toys to be smashed into the ground when she considered it? Were all of the children to be kicked as objects in a bucket? An annoyance?
Then again? She didn't at all seem to be scared as to how this was to end. She had a lot of problems with the others when it comes down to it. She had a lot of problems to do when it came down to it.
She sighed to herself before tapping her hands on her arms before she leaned on the wall towards Leviathan before he stared at her. He was a far more interested soldier when it came down to it.
Still? he had far too little on his prepared what to do next. Still? he had a lot more to do next as he watched this end. He was not yet to end before he sighed to himself. He wished to point out there were more soldiers than simply one. He was not once to bother the others now with his plans as he didn't understand what was to come next.
Yet he suspected he was to find that out sooner or later. He tapped on his arms while Tirpitz rested a hand on his to stop him from doing something. It seemed as if she had been terrified of a factor outside his control. He smiled before he raised an eyebrow at her with interest.
He was smiling to himself before he tilted his head to the side and started to ponder what she did next. She raised an eyebrow before he tapped his fingers onto the wall next to him. He had more amusement when it came down to it.
Tirpitz had a lot to do as of now. She had a lot more on her mind as of now. She rested one of her hands on him which made him blink and sighed to himself. Tirpitz blushed slightly and stared at the ground before she smiled as well.
"This isn't the first battle you're in, yes?" Tirpitz heard from Leviathan as he let a small breath of air from his mouth. "I'm aware not all the people here are constantly fighting. I heard some of them simply supported staff which doesn't exactly bother me. Not all soldiers can handle the frontlines." Leviathan stated while he tilted his head to the side.
She said nothing at the moment and simply tried to stay silent as he sighed before he leaned on the wall next to her. He was far more interested in what came if he didn't try to stop her.
Still? This place offered more than simple pleasure. He was going to be ready for this. He had to be.
Tirpitz seemed to cling to him like a doll that had wished to find its master. He honestly wished that this had become undone given more time and effort put into it. The second that he tried to press them for more intelligence? That would become a lot harder when it came down to it. This problem that had been there for years had become honestly perhaps odd and he couldn't entirely tell what was coming at this juncture. Had the Sirens been in control so long that they controlled the reality of this entire universe? Was this entire place made to bend to their very will? It had been curious when it came down to it. This moment had haunted them for now.
He rubbed at his temples before he still rubbed at his temples, blind about what seemed to be curious when it came down to it. There was a lot more to question. He had been interested in Tirpitz that there were more problems when this seemed to be interested in what to do next. This had become a harder problem to question, a harder problem to swallow when it seemed to converge.
He rubbed at his temples and laid down in the sand, letting Tirpitz sit down next to him. She raised an eyebrow at him as he seemed to tilt his head to the side before. He smiled before he tilted his head at her, curious what had made her this way. He said nothing as she smiled before he seemed to be happy while he rolled his eyes at the moment.
She smiled at him with a tilt of her head before it seemed to question the moment. She was going to be battle-ready at the second. It seemed as if she was in her little world and everyone else seemed to simply be part of it.
"What are you doing?" Leviathan questioned while she tilted his head. "There was only going to be a few more battles if this goes properly. We both know that this war can end sooner or later." Leviathan stated before as if he seemed to question what to do next.
"We don't know what to do next," Tirpitz stated to which Leviathan hummed and shrugged to himself.
"There are too many problems on the mind. I don't know what will come next." Leviathan stated before he shook his head. "All of these questions? All of the seconds that tick by? All of the problems that had been coming to mind. It hurts more and more when I try to focus." Leviathan stated as he clicked his head and looked around the room.
It had become so fuzzy at the end of the road. All so fuzzy to him for now.
