Alfred and Aaron have known eachother for a good fifty years. They both have many things in common, overbearing big brothers, immortality, experience, and duty. The world is a lonely place for people like this, no matter how much money and power they may hold, so Alfred treasures his honorary best-friend as much as he can. After all, Alfred would most likely outlive the Foundation, as well as Aaron Siegel.

Alfred popped his head through the door, looking down curiously at O5-1

"You alright there Aaron?" "You've been in here for the whole day," Alfred asked with concern in his voice.

"I'm fine," O5-1 replied back in a monotone voice, devoid of any emotion.

Alfred winced at his blank stare. His friend was clearly not okay, but was refusing to talk about it. Something to do with with his brother, and wife. Alfred himself knew he had this problem with Arthur, but he decided to push that crisis down until he knew Aaron was atleast alright.

Aaron instead of confronting his own feelings, buried himself more into work. Just like someone he knew before...

Alfred shook his head at his own thoughts, dismissing them with annoyance.

"Do you want something to eat?" "I can make something real quick in the kitchen," Alfred asked. He'd noticed that Aaron forgot to eat anything that day.

O5-1 again shook his head returning back to writing down something. Alfred had no idea how Aaron had so much focus, as he would've discarded the papers a long time ago.

"I'll get you milk and some biscuits then," Alfred declared, marching off to find the canteen of Site-01.

O5-1 sighed in exhaustion at Alfred's antics, trying to fight off the fatigue which seemed to slowly swallow him whole.

"I'm back!" Alfred's loud voice instantly woke him up from his half-asleep stupor, causing him to jump slightly in his chair.

Alfred laughed at this to Aaron's displeasure, "Sorry for scaring you," he didn't sound sincere at all, still grinning like an idiot. Placing the mug of warm milk and plate of biscuits on the desk, Alfred plonked himself down on a chair next to Aaron.

"What are you doing?" Alfred asked frowning, shoving his face close to Aaron's, staring down at the paper.

"Something," Aaron replied with an exasperated voice.

"Maybe you can do this tomorrow, England told me all the time that, 'sleep is important'!" Alfred used one of his hands to mock a speaking voice, faking an posh English accent.

O5-1 simply shook his head. "I don't want to sleep," He said, taking small sips from the mug of milk that he held with both hands.

The look on Alfred's face turned from grinning into a more neutral and calm expression. "Do you want to listen to some stories?" "I can tell you about the one time I got lost in the forest and England had to find me,"

Aaron's attention immediately went to those words, though he was reluctant, "You don't have to speak about your father-"

"Nah, don't worry about it," Alfred dismissed with a wave of his hand. His eyes suddenly widened in realisation as if he forgot something. "Wait!" "Stay here, I'm getting something for you,"

Alfred jumped out his seat hastily, showing off his flashing smile towards Aaron. For some reason, it filled him with reassurance.

After what only seemed like a few seconds in a flurry of footsteps, he was back in the room with a fluffy blanket lugged over his right shoulder.

Aaron, who was now returning back to his work, suddenly tensed when a heavy yet soft blanket fall upon his shoulders. Alfred's gloved hands lingered to fully make sure his shoulders were properly covered, causing Aaron's face to flush red.

Alfred sometimes wondered when was the last time the man hugged someone, he always appeared shocked or apprehensive at closeness.

"Alright first story!" He clapped his hands together, "Me and Canada were climbing a tree..."

Alfred watched as Aaron's eyes slowly droop down the more he listened. Aaron probably was curious, as he rarely spoke of his brother, Matthew, or his father, Arthur. He continued his story of how he broke his first bone as if it was humorous, instead of it being slightly traumatic.

Observing Aaron again, Alfred saw that the man was doing all he could to stay awake, such as digging his nails into his palms or shaking himself awake.

"I don't mind if you fall asleep here," "I'll be here when you wake up," Alfred spoke with a kind smile.

Something seemed to snap in Aaron, showing for only a second on his face, leaving as fast as it came.

"We're just business partners," "What urged you to care for me?" Aaron muttered drowsily, fighting the urge to close his eyes.

For the first time during the conversation, Alfred was left with nothing he could say back, only gazing at Aaron with a serene expression upon his face. "Go to sleep," He replied, placing a hand on Aaron's shoulder.

For the first time since meeting, he listened to Alfred, finally giving into his exhaustion. He layed his head down on both his arms.

Alfred slowly took a pen out of Aaron's right hand, moving the paperwork off into a neat pile. Soon after the lamp on the desk was switched off, Alfred noticed that the overseer had fallen swiftly to sleep.

Alfred was extremely triumphant, a smug look reflecting in his eyes. "Goodnight Aaron," Alfred yawned quietly, stretching in his chair. He stood up, walking out the doorway.

"I'll be in the next room," He spoke to no one in particular, before exiting the darkened office.
