1 month later, Viridian High
A boy with black hair and blue eyes stood in front of the class. He wore a black leather jacket, with a green hoodie underneath it, had a pair of jeans on and some black combat-like boots
"Class, I'd like you all to meet our temporary student" said Mr. Harrison with the newcomer having an expression that wished he was anywhere but here "Go on now. Introduce yourself to the class"
"Name's Jason Todd from Gotham City"
Many seemed to react to hearing his name as comments were now being thrown
"You're from Gotham?!"
"Aren't you the adopted son of Bruce Wayne?!"
"Have you seen Batman?!"
"Is Gotham really as bad as they say it is?!"
Mr. Harrison seemed to have had enough of the comments as he yelled at the class to be quiet. The teacher was about to apologize, when Jason surprised everyone by answering their questions "Yes, I just said I was from Gotham. I'm the adopted son of Bruce Wayne. Of course, I've seen Batman and the rest of the bats, got a souvenir and everything to prove it. Also really, Gotham? Do I really need to answer that?"
"Thank you, Mr. Todd. Now can you please take a seat next to Mr. Ketchum. Ash, can you raise your hand please" Mr. Harrison… only to not receive an answer as he looked over to where Ash normally sat and saw his desk was empty "Mr. Oak, Miss. Green, you two are seen with Mr. Ketchum the most, do you know where he is this time?"
Gary looked over at Leaf for some help, but the brunette girl kept looking at her health textbook as if it were the most interesting thing on the planet and Gary knew Leaf just didn't want to get caught up
Just as Gary was about to answer, or at least come up with something to say, a voice interrupted him much to his relief
"I'm guessing the seat next to the empty desk is the one I'll be using" Jason spoke, not waiting to see if he was correct as he made his way over towards the mentioned seat
Sighing at the distraction, Gary sent another message to Ash asking bout his whereabouts… but like before received no answer. This had been happening quite a lot in the past month, since Riolu debuted to be honest and Gary wondered if Ash had gotten a job as a photography that needed to get pictures of Riolu so he could help his mom out… oh wait he was thinking about the Spider-Man comics again
A few minutes later, the door was slammed open and everyone saw the missing raven haired teen. Like many times before, he was leaning against the door trying to catch his breath
"Late again Mr. Ketchum, your 10th time to be more precise" Mr. Harrison said with crossed arms as he looked at the teen "All your teachers have given you fair warnings, this better be the last time Mr. Ketchum, I can't be covering this up all the time you end up arriving late to class"
Ash nodded his appreciation at not being punished and made his way over towards his seat, ignoring the whispers sent his way. Once he sat down, he noticed the teen sitting beside him as their eyes met
"Umm hi. I'm Ash Ketchum" he said holding out a hand
Jason looked at him for a moment until finally shaking his hand "So you're the kid everyone was making a big deal about. I'm the temporary student, Jason Todd"
Jason's P.O.V
So, this is the kid Bruce told me about. Ash Ketchum, age 12 and son of Delia Ketchum. His father died of an unfortunate accident while rescuing Ash who was 6 at the time. Many blamed Ash for causing his father's death and as such became the target of many of his classmates and was labeled as the outcast and loser of Viridian. Bruce suspects him to be the protégé of Lucario and had me come here to confirm
Classes here in Viridian were better than at Gotham Academy, so at least that's a plus. Still, I don't get why Bruce cares about Lucario's protégé, does he want to recruit him into the Team or something?
Seems I was lost in my thoughts for the whole class since the bell suddenly rung and everyone started leaving the room. Turning to the teen beside me, seems Ash was also distracted since he looked around with a sigh "Great, need to stop being late and distracted in class" he mumbled softly
"You sleeping in or something?" I asked him, causing him to turn towards me
"No, I was just unlucky to get caught up in a break in on my way over" he replied as I nodded
"Happens at times, you can't be blamed for that" I told him, as he nodded and swung his backpack over his shoulder "Well I'll probably see you around. Hope you don't arrive late to that class"
Ash gave a slight chuckle at that "If I'm late to my afternoon classes, it's only due to Paul and his goons"
Ash's P.O.V
Jason Todd, the newest transfer student at Viridian High. I don't know what to make out of him, he's a wild card. No one mentioned we'd be getting a transfer student and that's suspicious since every time we do get one, we're given a heads up a day or two before. Not to mention the
"Hey what do you guys think of the new student?" I asked both Gary and Leaf
"Well, other than him having a good taste in fashion, I think he's alright"
"Ya, he seems cool. Besides, he's from Gotham! Anyone who can live in that place and still be normal is alright in my book" Gary said
I sighed. They were right... maybe I was just thinking to much about this... still Riley did warm me that Batman was getting suspicious that I hadn't been introduced to the rest of the League or their partners
Could Jason... was he maybe sent to find out who I am? Or to gain information about Riolu
Just as I was thinking this, I noticed Jason passing by me. Time seemed to slow down between us both, it almost felt as if we were the only ones left. I might need to be more careful around him, at least until Jason had to go back to Gotham
So Jason Todd from DC Comics has been introduced into the story. This is the reason why I had to go and change the age of Dick Grayson as previously stated. Anyway I decided it was time to introduce a YJ character. So what do you think, will Jason figure it out, he does already suspect Ash after all ^^ Till next time where we see what happens in part 2
