The resurgence of the Ancient and Noble House of Gamp

I am sorry for the late update. I was mentally distracted for the last few months. So, there was no update on this story. I know it is very late, but I will still complete the reading; happy reading.

Chapter 3: Bellatrix Black, the proud daughter of Most Ancient and Noble House of Black

27th August 1993

Bellatrix is feeling good today. For the last few days, there was a tense environment in the House of Black. Her aunt Walburga Black was trying to remove Sirius as the heir of the house. She wanted her son Reguilius to be the heir of the house Black.

Walburga Black had a very particular view about pureblood pride. Thus, she did not like Sirius' rebellious behavior. From last year Sirius spent his summer time in Potter's house. Walburga did not want to remove Sirius just because he was the best friend of Potter's heir.

The House of Potter is influential and has a longer history than the House of Black. Even most traditional Pureblood families have to show their respect for the Potters. So, it was not a deal breaker for Walburga. Walburga's prominent bone of contention was Sirius's lack of hatred for muggles.

Walburga never met muggles, but it did prevent her from hating them. Walburga was very passionate about the dominance of Pureblood wizards over muggles. Walburga never liked that wizard had to hide their identity from muggles. According to Walburga, Pureblood should rule over the muggles.

Walburga also did not like how the proportion of muggle-born wizards was increasing among the wizarding community. In Walburga's opinion, those muggle-borns are polluting wizarding society with filthy muggle ideas.

That was why Walburga was fuming when she saw the so-called sign of muggle philia in her oldest son. Before she could rectify her son's wrong judgment, Sirius escaped from the home under her very nose. It was simply too much humiliation for Walburga Black.

So, for the last few months, she was trying to take away heir status from Sirius. However, Sirius was the oldest grandson of the current Lord Black, and according to the House of Black tradition, he was that House's rightful heir. Thus, Walburga needed to convince most older Black family members to create substantial pressure on Lord Black.

Walburga quickly got support from her brother and Bellatrix's father, Cygnus. Cygnus sadly did not have a personality of his own. He was always a sidekick of his older sister. Bellatrix disliked her father so much for this reason. He never raised his voice against his dearest older sister, even though she was wrong.

Walburga's husband, Orion, was always an indecisive person. That man could not take a clear stand on anything, and his wife took full advantage of that. In Bellatrix's opinion, if Orion Black became Lord Black, their glorious House of Black would decline someday.

Last night all members of House Black got together for dinner. Walburga thought it was the perfect moment to create pressure on Lord Black. But Walburga never thought that Archorus Black, the current Lord of the House, would react so sharply against her.

When Walburga raised the issue of changing the heir at the dinner table, Archorus simply disregarded her suggestion. Even Walburga's brother Alphard and father Pollux scolded her and called her delusional.

Archorus Black stated that her suggestion was illogical, like her previous suggestions. Archorus also forbade her to do anything regarding the serious matter of House Black. Walburga was fuming inside but had to accept Lord Black's verdict.

Watching Walburga getting humiliated in such a fashion was a pleasant experience for Bellatrix. Her aunt Walburga was taking an abnormal interest in the marriage-related matter of her and her sisters. Bellatrix knew both Lestrange brothers, and she was simply unimpressed. In her opinion, one brother was dumb another was dumber.

However, Walburga wanted to create marriage contracts with those two brothers for Bellatrix and Andromeda. Walburga wanted to trade her two nieces for more political power. For a brief point of time, Bellatrix was worried. She knew her mother and father wouldn't oppose her aunt Walburga anyway. And her uncle Orion was always indifferent to everything.

Bellatrix thought Walburga could convince Archorus regarding marriage contracts with the Lestrange brothers. Due to Walburga's overconfidence regarding Sirius's matter, Bellatrix now believed she had some breathing space. Lord Black had become very much annoyed with Walburga's antics.

Thus, in Bellatrix's opinion, for the next one year, her aunt Walburga will not disturb her marriage contract. Nevertheless, Bellatrix knows that one year is not a considerable time. She has to look for a permanent solution to her problem.

She is 16 right now. After one year, she will be 17, the legal age of an adult in the wizarding community. Therefore, Bellatrix knows she will feel some pressure for marriage at that time, just like her older sister Andromeda feels.

Bellatrix knows her older sister is dating someone, but she does not know the boy's identity. Bellatrix suspects Frank Longbottom, but she is not sure. Bellatrix just hopes Andromeda's boyfriend is not a muggle-born.

Bellatrix does not have any particular hatred for the muggle-borns. Sure, she gets annoyed when some muggle born like Lily Evans behaves ignorant towards wizarding traditions. However, she does not have any problem with the vast majority of muggle-borns. She believes it is possible to integrate muggle-borns into the mainstream of the wizarding community.

Nevertheless, Bellatrix knows the complex reality of the wizarding UK. Muggleborns have very little political power. If any prominent Pureblood member marries a muggle-born, it will create a scandal in the community. Even the liberal pureblood family like Potter, Longbottom, and Prewett will face massive backlash if they marry a muggle-born.

For so-called traditional or conservative Pureblood families marrying a muggle-born is an eternal disgrace for the House. Bellatrix knows that Lord Black, at most, will tolerate a Half-Blood which has at least 100-150 years of history like Riley, Kohl as Andromeda's future partner. Those wizarding families are somewhat affluent and thus have a seat in Wizengamot as a noble house.

Some small, new pureblood families with 150-200 years of history are not financially solvent. So, those pureblood families do not have a seat in Wizengamot because those families are neither noble nor ancient. Even so, those Purebloods still get preference in ministry jobs.

Purebloods are only 18% of the wizarding Uk population. So even a poor pureblood with a short family history has some importance in a pureblood-dominated society. Sometimes prominent Pureblood families such as Black mentor talented wizards and witches from poor pureblood families.

According to Bellatrix, Lord Black will also tolerate such a person as Andromeda's boyfriend. Because with the help of the House of Black, such families can quickly become a Noble House within 10 years.

For Bellatrix, for a boyfriend, this is also her minimum bottom line regarding Blood status. However, Bellatrix mostly wants to find a boyfriend who can match her intellectually. She also wants to find a boyfriend who is somewhat competent with spells.

Until now, within Hogwarts, she has not found any boy who can catch her imagination. However, she will never lower her standard for finding a boyfriend. After all, she is the proud daughter of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black.

Diagon Alley, 28 August 1993

Harry was exploring the books at Flourish and Blotts when he first saw the three sisters of House of Black. Harry had to admit that those three sisters looked different in that new dimension. They were looking younger, but Harry felt that those three sisters' personalities differed in this new dimension.

Harry was shocked to see the younger Bellatrix. This new Bellatrix was very much different from a mad Bellatrix. She had an indifferent aura that was very much similar to Harry himself. When he made this discovery, he felt a little disturbed. However, Harry again reminded himself that he was living in a new world. Thus, he should not judge people here based on their actions in his home universe.

Harry soon withdrew his gaze from the Black sisters. Harry did not want to give them any wrong impression. Besides that, he was not very keen to talk with them. So, Harry decided to give his full attention to exploring the books. He had found an excellent book on Advanced DADA.

Harry soon discovered new spells in the book that did not exist in his home dimension. Similarly, some advanced spells existed in his home dimension that was missing there. Harry naturally felt fascinated by that discovery. He was 15 years old in the new dimension, so in the next three years, he could learn all the exclusive spells of this dimension.

Initially, Harry thought he would not learn anything new from studying Hogwarts of, the new dimension. He was wrong in his thought. Besides, he knew some of the top-notch attacking spells of his home world that did not exist here. Those spells would become his trump card in any tricky situation.

" Don't you think this book is too advanced for you?" Harry was surprised when he heard a young girl's voice behind his back. Harry turned around after hearing the voice. A beautiful teenage girl was looking at him with great interest. Yes, it was her, Bellatrix Black.

Bellatrix and two of her sisters had just arrived in Flourish and Blotts when she felt an intense gaze from someone. All three Black sisters had a great physical appearance. Thus they always get attention. She looked at the guy secretly from the corner of her eyes.

It was a teenage boy around 15. Bellatrix would not deny that the boy looked handsome with his sharp facial features and ocean-blue eyes. However, she could not give her final verdict on the boy's appearance as she secretly observed her from the corner of her eye. If she could look at him properly, she might view his appearance.

However, one thing shocked Bellatrix, she could feel the boy was not charmed by her beauty. She could feel the boy did not imagine her or any of her sisters romantically. She could feel shock and curiosity from the boy's gaze.

She was sure she had never met that boy, but judging from his reaction, he seemed to know them. Naturally, Bellatrix's curiosity for the mysterious boy increased. Soon, the boy withdrew his gaze.

However, Bellatrix was still secretly observing him. When she felt that the boy was concentrating on the book, she tried to look at him properly. Yes, her first impression was correct; the boy was very handsome. With sharp facial features and ocean-blue eyes, the boy clearly had a top-notch facial appearance.

She also observed that the chin and nose of that boy had a striking similarity with her cousin Sirius and Regulus. Thus she could feel that the boy was a relative of the House of Black. Bellatrix knew that all pureblood families were somewhat related to each other. Nevertheless, she knew all the pureblood families related to the House of Black in the last 100 years.

She knew all her second, third, and even fourth cousins. Every child of House of Black was taught about their living kins very early. That boy was just one or two years younger than her; thus, she should have known him.

Suddenly she saw the title of the book which the boy was reading. Bellatrix felt a little shocked when she saw the 15 years old boy was reading Hogwarts 7th-year materials. The gap between a 5th-year book and 7th year was significant.

She thought the boy was somewhat intelligent. However, the boy was behaving like a foolish Gryffindor. After seeing that Bellatrix could not help herself from asking the boy-

" Don't you think this book is too advanced for you?"
