Chapter Two
Emperor Kael made his way into the city of Rome, after the people from the Republic had left the planet. He passed through the gates of the city and walked by the buildings and shops. As he walked he couldn't help but notice how alive the city was but he could not stop and smell the roses because he must call the senate to order and discuss the first contact with this Republic.
As he entered the senate house the hush tones of the senators fell silent. Once he was in the center of the chamber he began to speak.
"Esteemed Senators of Rome, I come before you today to discuss a matter of great importance," Emperor Kael began. "As you all know, we have made contact with a civilization calling them selfs the galactic republic. We must consider carefully the implications of this first contact and how it may impact our own civilization."
He paused to let his words sink in, looking around at the faces of the senators, all of whom were paying close attention.
"I have called this meeting to order so that we may hear your thoughts and opinions on this matter. What do you think we should do? Should we establish diplomatic relations with this Republic or keep our distance? What are the potential risks and benefits of each approach?"
The senators murmured amongst themselves, considering the Emperor's words and the weight of the decision before them. Emperor Kael allowed them a few moments of quiet reflection before continuing.
"I realize this is not a decision to be made lightly. But we must consider the future of our civilization, and what impact our interactions with this Republic may have. We must also keep in mind the potential for conflict or misunderstanding, and how we may best avoid such outcomes."
He paused once more, allowing his words to sink in. "I implore you all to consider this matter carefully, and to offer your thoughts and opinions freely. We are all in this together, and it is only through open and honest discussion that we may find the best path forward for our people."
With that, Emperor Kael stepped back from the center of the chamber and took his seat among the senators, waiting for the discussion to begin. He did have to wait long because as he sat down the first man step up, Decimus Valerius Messalla, one of the Consul for that year, a man with the potential to become a strong leader.
"Your Majesty, esteemed senators," Decimus began, his voice clear and firm. "I believe that establishing diplomatic relations with this Republic is the best course of action. We cannot afford to isolate ourselves from other civilizations, especially if they possess knowledge and resources that we do not."
He paused, scanning the faces of the senators before continuing. "However, we must approach this with caution. We do not know what their intentions may be, and we must ensure that we protect our people and our way of life. I propose that we send a delegation to their planet to establish communication and learn more about their culture and values. This will allow us to make an informed decision about how best to proceed."
Decimus sat down, and another senator rose to speak. As the discussion continued, Emperor Kael listened carefully, taking note of each senator's perspective and weighing their words in his mind. He knew that this decision would have far-reaching consequences, and he was determined to make the best choice for his people.
After hours of debate, the senators finally reached a consensus. They would send a delegation to the Republic's planet to establish communication and explore the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations. It was a cautious approach, but one that Emperor Kael believed was necessary to ensure the safety and prosperity of their civilization.
With the decision made, Emperor Kael adjourned the meeting and left the senate house, his mind already turning to the preparations that would need to be made for the delegation's journey. It was a new chapter in the history of their civilization, and he was determined to make it a successful one.

Meanwhile, back up in the Nova Spire, Carth and Revan were in the middle of a holo call with the Republic High Command. The meeting had been called to discuss the recent discovery of the ancient civilization on the planet they had been exploring.
"Thank you for joining us today, Admiral Onasi, and Jedi Knight Revan," Admiral Forn Dodonna said, addressing them both. "We have received your report on the new civilization you discovered, and can you provide more information."
Carth nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, Admiral. Our team was able to make contact with the civilization, and they identified themselves as the Roman Empire. They have limited space faring capability but seem to be right on the cusp of obtaining it."
Revan spoke up, adding, "With there position in the unknown region, they could be a strong ally in the future to do the fact there world is just shy of 8 billion "
Admiral Dodonna nodded, taking in the information. "I see. And how did they react to our presence and your first contact?"
Carth cleared his throat. "They were cautious, to say the least. They expressed concern about the potential impact our presence could have on their civilization, and we assured them that we were there in peace and only wished to establish diplomatic relations."
Revan added, "The man we spoke to was called Kael who is the Augustus which is what they call their emperor, needed to meet with there senate before we continued."
Admiral Dodonna leaned back in his chair, considering their words. "Understood. It sounds like a delicate situation. We must be cautious in our approach and ensure that we do not cause any harm to their civilization."
Carth nodded in agreement. "Yes, Admiral. We are currently waiting for their Senate to convene so that we can continue our discussions."
Admiral Dodonna nodded again. "Very well. Keep us updated on any developments. In the meantime, we will prepare a diplomatic delegation to send to their planet once the Senate gives the go-ahead."
Carth and Revan both nodded in agreement, and the holo call ended. They sat in silence for a moment, contemplating the weight of the situation they found themselves in.
"Looks like we've got a lot of work to do," Carth said finally, breaking the silence.
Revan nodded in agreement. "Yes, but it's a necessary step. We must establish relations with this civilization and learn from them. Who knows what kind of knowledge or resources they may possess?"
Carth smiled wryly. "Yeah, and who knows what kind of trouble we could get into."
Revan chuckled. "Always the optimist, Carth."
They both laughed.
