Sheldon Swifties LIX: "The X-Advisors…"
Summary: Like my Immortal Beloved bits in my Buffyverse stories, these are fragments and short bits, some longer…Just to fiddle with ideas, possibly forming longer tales later.

Part XXI…
"Sorry to just come in, the door was unlocked and I knew…Holy Krishna!" Raj gasped at the sight of Sheldon seated contentedly in his spot, cereal bowl in hand…
Amy Farrah Fowler in red, frilled collar, nightgown, head pillowed on his lap…
"Shhh…She's very tired." Sheldon, forefinger raised. "We had a great deal of excitement last night."
"Yes…Right…Excitement. The party and the singing and the thing with Leonard…" nod.
"Mainly the sex…But the rest was a strain too. Now, quiet, the Doctor is about to save some dinosaurs on a spaceship. Please feel free to secure a beverage from our refrigerator." Slight wave kitchen ward.
"Thanks…I just came by to see that you were ok. I see you are ok…Very ok…" grin.
"Just be polite when you text Howard and Bernadette…" Amy looked up suddenly. "You may tell them, it was magical." She grinned wearily, settling immediately back down and closing eyes.
Hmmn-hmm. Sheldon nodded in agreement.
Hmmn… "You know, Amy…I have seen this one a couple of…"
"Lets go!" Amy sprang up, deftly avoiding knocking the bowl out of his hands. "Nice to see you as always, Rajesh."
"Ok…I'll be going…We'll get together for a brunch around 11, ok?" Raj noted, eyes bulging a bit as the two hastily rose, Sheldon setting bowl down after a last gulp and remote clicking off the Doctor. "Then we'll see if we can spring the Hofstadters from Hospijail, right?"
"Excellent, I know I'll be ravenous…" Amy agreed, pulling Sheldon along…He giving Raj a hapless shrug.
What can a studly male do? The two disappeared into Sheldon's room, door closing immediately.
Hmmn…Raj looked around.
On the other hand…Poor Lucy is sleeping like a log and I've nothing to do at this hour but read or play on the computer or…
…he eyed the TV screen.
I was offered a beverage option…
"And who can pass on the Doctor dealing with dinosaurs on a spaceship with Amy Pond around. And Queen Nefetiri along to break stereotypes." High-minded nod.
Was that Amy cackling with rapturous glee?
…..
Pasadena General Hospital…Just after noon…
"Hey, guys!" the newly dressed Leonard beamed at the group…Amy, Sheldon, Howard, Bernadette, Lucy, Rajesh… From his bed. Penny sleeping soundly next to him…Oh…He motioned for them to be quiet and carefully swung off the bed.
"They're nearly ready to let me go…Just waiting for the doctor to sign off and write me a new prescription." He explained, indicating the detached IV line. "Lets let Penny sleep some more and go to the lounge, we can get coffee." He pulled on shoes.
"Shouldn't we leave a note?" Sheldon suggested. "She might wake up and think you died and they took the body for quick organ harvest."
"Sheldon…" Bernadette frowned.
"What's wrong with my honey expressing a little intelligent concern for my bestie?" Amy frowned.
"Ladies…Penny?" Leonard urged. "Lets take this outside, ok?"
On the other hand…Given how freaked she was last night…He looked to the bedside table. Hurrying over and scribbling a quick note on a pad which he placed on the not-so-gently snoring Penny's hand.
"Ok…Probably not a bad idea on the note." Bernadette conceded.
"Sorry, I'm still a bit hyper from lack of sleep and all that…Sex…" Amy, coy smile at the end.
"Yeah, ok, great…" Bernadette sighed.
"She won't let two minutes go by without mentioning the sex…" she hissed to the blinking Leonard as they headed out, Amy happily leading Sheldon out first.
"Well, it is a remarkable achievement…Not only for her, but for Humanity…" Howard cut in, whispering with grin.
"You're not gonna cry again…?" Bernadette frowned at Raj. Lucy now frowning at her…
….
"Leonard…How good to see you're up and about!" hearty boom greeting them in the hospital hallway.
"Dr. Francis." Leonard beamed at the scientist as he approached, elegantly casual in dark turtleneck, tweed suit, camel-colored slacks. "It's so nice of you to come over. I'm fine, really. It was just a bit of a heavy asthma attack."
"Not at all. I'm just glad to see you're all right. Heading home soon?"
"Soon as they'll release me. We're getting some coffee while Penny sleeps a little more in my…Room. Care to join us?"
"Delighted." Francis nodded… "Boldly go, Mr. Hofstadter." He waved a hand, smiling.
Hmmn…Lucy frowned as they headed off, Raj catching her look at Francis.
"Something?" he asked. "Him, too? Ulteriors?"
"Uh-huh." Lucy nodded. Slight grin at his smile…
"Right. Eyes and ears open." He paused. "Look at us…Single word telepathy already achieved…" he beamed.
"Yep." She noted proudly, patting the hand she held.
"And I adore you too." He grinned.
"Yep." Her nod.
….
"So you and Penelope actually tied the knot last night?" Francis smiled at Leonard as the group now sat in the family lounge, Sheldon grimly frowning at the poor excuse for cocoa he'd been handed by Raj, the others sipping coffee, Leonard, water.
"That is boldly going, young apprentice." Grin. "Well done, indeed."
"Well, it's not strictly legal yet. And we do want a formal wedding…" Leonard noted. "In fact, Penny and her dad have quite a thing cooked up…But she was kinda scared, as was I, to be honest. And we wanted something, you know?"
"I do indeed, Leonard." Francis nodded. "I've known what it is to fear the love of your life being snatched away by illness…In fact, I can't say I'm too fond of hospitals, even now, so many years later."
"I'm sorry…" Leonard, concerned.
"No, no…I was anxious to see you were all right. And this is good news, for once, from a hospital. I'm glad I came, though I hope I'm not intruding."
"Not at all. I'm glad I was still here to be checked on. Say, I'm afraid Penny will want me to take a couple of days and rest up…And we do have plans to make."
"Of course…We'll have plenty of time to get down to some fun when you're fully ready." Francis beamed. "In the meantime, I'll get settled in…Perhaps poke my nose about and look in your friends here and their work…" he nodded to Raj, Sheldon, and Howard. "And see if all my ideas have already been tried and verified six times over in the literature." Grin. "Perhaps tomorrow night or the next, if you feel up to it, you'd all consent to let me take you to dinner. I understand there are some very nice local places. We can talk a bit and you tell me what there is to see and do about town. I actually do like to poke my head above water and smell the roses now and again. As you must remember, Leonard?" smile.
"You knew how to enjoy life, doctor." Leonard nodded. "I remember some pretty wild pictures from your road trips…"
"It's short enough, life, that we should make the moments count, my friend." Francis smiled. "Well, seeing as my teammate is in one piece and knowing you all want to chat a bit, I'll be on my way. But let me know what night will be good for all of you and we'll set it up, ok?" he rose.
"Sounds great…" Leonard nodded… The others agreeing, Raj and Lucy, just a bit stiffly.
"Oh, I understand Francis Stein paid a call last night." Francis, casually. Glance over to Amy, by Sheldon.
"He did, I wasn't able to see him but he did. We appreciated it." Leonard noted.
"I see. Well, please give my very best to the blushing bride. Congratulations, Leonard…Truly. You're a fortunate young man." Shaking hand. "Good day, all." Wave of hand as he headed out.
"He's a great guy." Leonard, contentedly. "I can't wait to get back to work with him."
"Well, just curb the enthusiasm a couple of days, fellah…Your missus and we need to be sure you're all in one piece, ok?" Howard noted. "The three of us can keep St. Francis Xavier Gandhi entertained for a few days, I'm sure."
"He has demonstrated some knowledge of theory in his work…" Sheldon nodded. "I should be able to communicate my latest results to him without too much trouble."
"Great, thanks." Leonard, wry smile. "You do know he's a shoe-in for the Nobel in Physics?"
"They like to do that sometimes…Give the lesser people a little pat on the back…"
Raj eyeing Lucy, Lucy, Raj…She gave sidelong glance to where Amy was a bit nervously looking after the departing Francis.
Gotcha. Nod back. He came to check on Amy…And whatever effect whatever Stein told her may have had.
God, we are good, he beamed.
"Hey!" Penny came scurrying down the hall, just after Francis had boarded the elevator…
"Oh, there you are…" she pulled up. "Thanks for the note." She gasped, breathing hard. "Not that I was worried or anything…" attempt at casual pose marred by desperate, heavy breaths. Sliding into the seat by Leonard Howard immediately gave up with a smile…Patting Leonard...Leaning head on his shoulder.
"You ok?" Leonard, worriedly.
"Me? Sure…"
Apart from the minor coronary when I woke up to find you gone…
"But I appreciated the note." She beamed. I thank you, my heart thanks you…
"That was Sheldon's idea." Amy, proudly.
