Sheldon Swifties LIX: "The X-Advisors…"
Summary: Like my Immortal Beloved bits in my Buffyverse stories, these are fragments and short bits, some longer…Just to fiddle with ideas, possibly forming longer tales later.

Part XXII…
Sheldon and Leonard's apartment living room, that evening…
The gang having been none too gently rushed out by the Missus Hofstadter after delivering Leonard safely home…Only Sheldon and Amy remaining, Sheldon currently trying to struggle to a degree of comfortableness in the chair he'd taken after "generously" (uh, huh…One look at Penny's grim face…"I'm sure you know Leonard needs to lie down…" having stifled any thought of protest…) giving up his spot. For the evening…Until the desire for coitus overwhelmed the newlyweds…Which, based on their history…He hissed to Amy, seated beside him and not a little desirous of being "overwhelmed" herself.
Penny at desk, clicking on laptop as Leonard somewhat frustratedly…Hey, it's my second wedding night and I'm feeling just fine now…Lay on the sofa, blanket covering…
"Take the praise and let it go…" Amy hissed back to Sheldon, eyeing Penny who bore a rather intense look. "I promise I'll have you buried lying on that sofa, ok?"
"That's ridiculous, the coffin would have to be custom made…My spot cushion will be enough." He noted, in whisper. "Just make sure you position me so they can fit you in." he added.
"There's a gross but oddly appealing and deeply touching image…Thank you, Moonpie…" she beamed.
"Moonpie?" Penny looked over.
"I thought only Meemaw…?" she eyed Sheldon.
"Meemaw and fiancée/wife…Naturally…" he replied.
"Cause he's good enough to eat…" Amy beamed.
Now there's a potentially appalling image…Penny thought.
Think Disney sex only…Ok…She resumed clicking…
"Ok, so…" Penny looked over… "Here's what I got. Clinical …"
"1. Not yet recruiting Asthma Self-management Via Application of Telehealth
Conditions:
Asthma; Mixed Asthma With Acute Exacerbation. Interventions: Other: electronic asthma action plan (eAAP); Other: written asthma action plan (WAAP). Well?" she eyed Sheldon, then Amy.
"Just a monitoring study." Amy noted. "But if he could get on, it might help provide quicker intervention and resources. Thumbs up."
"Check." Penny noted.
"I love you, Penny." Leonard called.
"Got that. Prove it and rest a little." She replied, waving hand.
"Ok…2. Enrolling by invitation Assessing Decision Maker Tools for Asthma: the Asthma APGAR
Condition: Asthma
Interventions: Behavioral: Use of Asthma APGAR system and tools; Behavioral: Asthma APGAR tools . Guys?" she turned.
"Possibly worth following for the results, not likely to really affect outcome or treatment." Sheldon noted.
"Ok, check back with them. Got it." Penny nodded.
"Uh… 3. Unknown Maternal Variables Associated With Adherence in Children With Asthma…" Or why I should kill my mother-in-law for not taking better care of her son?"
"Penny…" Leonard sighed.
"She didn't devote her scientific career to helping her baby…She gave you electric shocks that probably made your asthma worse." Grim tone.
"Honey…"
"Ok…I won't accuse her to her face of child abuse. In return… She never comes near our kids, got it?"
"My mom? No way." Leonard raised and shook head.
"Down, Hofstadter." Penny, immediately. "Amy, don't let him get up."
"Fine…By the way, that was neat the way you sized it up there, Mrs. Dr. H…" pleased tone.
"That was remarkable…" Sheldon agreed, whispering. "Is that the power of Love thing?"
"Yes." Amy nodded, wiping a tear. "You make me so happy, Sheldon…" she kissed him.
"Thank you, Dr. Hofstadter." Penny beamed. "Next…4. Not yet recruiting. A Randomized Trial Examining the Effectiveness of Mobile-Based Asthma Action Plans vs. Paper Asthma Action Plans?"
"Thumbs down…" Amy called.
"Wait…I think a study of such effectiveness should be encouraged…" Sheldon, frowning.
"It's not going to do Leonard the slightest bit of good to know which way of presenting a care strategy is better, Sheldon." Amy frowned. "We want trials that will help him directly, if successful."
"It's out. Lets move on." Penny noted.
"I still say…"
"Will it help keep Leonard alive?" Penny eyed him.
"Well, no…" Sheldon sighed.
"Trash bin. Next…" Hmmn…
"She's good at the administrative end…" Amy noted to the disappointed Sheldon. I would still like to know which is better… "We could use her in my department."
"5. Active, not recruiting. Pilot Study of Pioglitazone for the Treatment of Moderate to Severe Asthma in Obese Asthmatics…
Condition: Asthma. Interventions: Drug: pioglitazone; Drug: placebo
Oooh, drugs. Is this a cure thing?!" she turned to face Sheldon and Amy, eagerly hopeful look.
"There's been some positive results with this one. Still being evaluated." Amy noted. "I'd want to review the side effects, etc. But thumbs up for following and review."
"Great…" Penny beamed.
"Sheldon?" Amy stared at him as he wiped a tear.
"She's making such beautiful love to him…" he noted simply.
"Yes, she is, Sheldon." Leonard called. "And I thank God on bended knee."
"Yeah, thanks…Ok, that's the current ones." Penny noted. "Fourteen potentially interesting papers and clinical trials. Thanks, guys." She smiled at Amy and Sheldon.
"It was an honor…Thank you." Sheldon noted, rising. "I'm very glad you're the one Leonard wound up with Penny. I know my best friend besides my future wife is safe with you."
"Sheldon Cooper?" Penny stared. "Oh…Th…thank you…" tearing. "Sheldon, you beautiful, crazy sweetheart. Go make my bestie as happy as she deserves."
"Oh, but Leonard…" Sheldon, anxious look.
"Mrs. H has the com, Sheldon. She's right, go. I'll be in safe hands, you said so yourself, buddy…And Sheldon?" Leonard sat up, wryly wincing at Penny's grim stare. "You're the best nonspousal friend a guy could have, thanks. Now go be happy…"
Hmmn…He looked at Penny as they watched Sheldon and Amy scurry off eagerly to Sheldon's room.
Wasn't expecting it'd be that easy…
Our lil' Shamy…All grown up…He and Penny grinned at each other.
"Ok. Down on that sofa, mister." Penny commanded sternly.
"Ok..." sigh. Say... "I am not 'obese'." Leonard frowned.
….
Raj's apartment…
He and Lucy on sofa…
"So…Ok…We have the Drs. Stein…Frank N. and Sue the porn star physicist, daughter madly in love with the first nice boy she ever knew and dad apparently determined to give her what she wants…" Raj noted.
Lucy nodding…
"Then we have Dr. Francis, Mr. Geniality on the surface…Who seems to harbor a deadly hate of his colleague and ole friend for reasons as yet unknown and yet who seems eager to stir up trouble between Suzy and our Amy?"
Firm nod…
"That's gotta be pretty strong hate there…" Raj reflected. "Now as to the lady in question…She did back down the other night…But was it tactical, due to the Leonard thing…Hard to make love to a guy trying to get his friend to the ER…Or is she unselfish in her love? She didn't seem so at the party, but she didn't know Amy."
"She knew Amy." Lucy frowned. "Somehow she knew her. She was furious at her for something…"
"Not just being Sheldon's fiancée?" Raj stared.
"She knew her…Somehow…" Lucy shook head.
"How? You mean she's kept tabs on Sheldon all these years?"
"Probably…But this is more personal…They've met before, she and Amy…And it was over Sheldon." Lucy noted. "And Amy didn't tell us everything…Not yet. She knew her, too."
Whoa…Raj blinked.
Amy Farrah Fowler? Woman of mystery?
"I don't know, Lucy…" Raj sighed. "I mean, yes, I trust your instincts but…"
"More than instincts, Rajesh." Lucy held up her smartphone… "Look where Amy did her undergraduate work…" she indicated screen with forefinger…
"University of Texas at Austin?…Oh, my God…" Raj blinked. "Amy's lied to us. She knew Sheldon…She knew him all along…"
Our innocent Amy? Concealing things from us all this time?
Damn, how crushed poor Howard's going to be…Our monster couple knew each other in a previous life.
"Dear God…She knew Sheldon and she came to Cal Tech and rehooked up with him? With Sheldon Cooper? And not only her, but Susan Stein…? Wait…" Raj blinked.
"That's why Susan is here…" he stared. "I thought it sounded odd, father and daughter together…She fought to come here and Stein helped her, no doubt insisted to Siebert and Gablehauser he wouldn't come without her. Naturally Cal Tech wants another Nobeler on its team and he made her a condition. She's here for Sheldon…And Dr. Francis…?"
"Followed them…" Lucy nodded. "Deliberately…"
"And all for love…Of Sheldon Cooper?" Raj stared.
"Not all for Sheldon…" Lucy pondered. "Dr. Stein for his daughter…And Dr. Francis, for someone…It can't just be rivalry. He couldn't hate this much, to be willing to risk hurting Amy and Sheldon, and Leonard…Just over some fight about research. We have to talk to Amy, Rajesh."
"Well…She and Sheldon do seem to have this well in hand…Maybe we shouldn't butt in?" Raj eyed her.
"I think we need to be ready to help." Lucy sighed. "This has only just begun."
