J.D., Lola, Laney, Lisa, and Lily were all in the Simulator.

Varie, Aylene, Jeri, Jessie, Lori, Carol, and Sakura were in the control room.

The Simulator was activated, and J.D., Lana, Lola, Laney, Lisa, and Lily found themselves in San Francisco, California.

They noticed a large and tall high-rise skyscraper behind them that was on fire.

"That building is completely on fire!" shouted Lola.

"I know this building," J.D. replied, "we're in the 1974 movie "The Towering Inferno. I used to watch this movie all the time, and it's one of my dad's favorite movies from his childhood."

"Wow!" remarked Laney. "What's that movie about?"

"It's about a tall, super-high-rise multipurpose building that's on fire because of faulty electrical wiring in a storage room on the 81st floor," J.D. explained. "This building is 1,800 feet tall, and it was on the building's grand opening ceremony, and it turned into a night of tragedy and the demonstration of the heroic actions of the firefighters."

"That's terrible," Lily remarked.

"If this building was set on fire because of faulty wiring, then whoever built it had no idea what they were doing," Lana concluded.

"I think you're right, Lana," J.D. replied.

"Faulty wiring is a very proficient cause of electrical fires in buildings, and back in the 1970s, we weren't trained to fight high-rise structure fires of this kind," Lisa explained.

"That's not right," Laney pointed out.

"I agree," J.D. said. "The 1970s were also known as the "Decade of Disaster Movies." Earthquake," "The Poseidon Adventure," "Avalanche," "Hurricane," "The China Syndrome," and many more. However, California has produced more disaster movies than any other state."

"That's really cool," Lily commented.

"Nice," Lana remarked.

"Yeah," J.D. agreed. "But let's help these people out!"

"Affirmative," Lisa responded.

"Let's go!" insisted Lola.

They flew up and saw the building engulfed in flames, with some people trapped inside. They saw an elevator go down the building, and an explosion blew the elevator off its track, knocking out a window, and a woman fell out, who Lola rescued.

"Are you all right, ma'am?" asked Lola.

"Yes, I am," Mrs. Mueller responded. "Thank you."

"My name is Lola Loud, and we came to help," she explained.

"Thank you, Lola," Mrs. Mueller replied.

Mrs. Mueller was safe when Lola landed on the ground.

"Good save, Lola," Lily complimented. "Now we have to help those people in the elevator get down."

"Right," Lola agreed.

Lisa and J.D. were standing atop the elevator.

"It's hanging from its cable," J.D. explained.

"Yes," Lisa confirmed. "We're going to have to cut it and set up the elevator on the street."

"Got it," J.D. replied.

"I'll cut it with my cutting laser, and you will lift it and bring it down to the street," Lisa explained.

"Right," J.D. agreed.

Lisa took out a cutting laser and severed the cable.

"That did it," J.D. declared. "All right, everybody, hold on tight!"

J.D. pulled out the elevator, flapped his wings, and hovered down to the street.

Ten minutes later, J.D. successfully landed the elevator on the street, to the delight of the firefighters.

"It was a pleasure to help you all," J.D. explained. "Now we have to save the other people up near the roof."

J.D. and Lisa flew up to the Promenade Room and noticed a Breaches Buoy transporting people to the building across from the tower.

"That's a clever method," J.D. observed.

"Indeed," Lisa agreed.

They entered the Promenade Room.

Lola and Lily are putting out the fires around the building.

Lily hurled some glowing water at the flames, putting them out.

"Can you absorb fire, Lola?" Lily asked.

"I'm not sure," Lola admitted. "Let me check."

Lola flew into the building, and surprisingly, she can absorb fire. "Well, what do you know? I CAN absorb fire."

Lola dashed down the halls of many floors, absorbing as much fire as she could. She was trying to help and save as many people as she could.

Lana and Laney were in the control and utility room, where she was inspecting the wiring. She discovered many messed-up wires in one power box.

"They had no idea what they were doing," Lana reported. "All of these wires are corroded and broken."

"No kidding," Wess said. "How do you think they got that way?"

"There's acid on them, and they were cut with a knife," Lana explained.

"So someone wants this whole building to burn?" Wess asked.

"From the looks of it, I'd say yes," Lana confirmed.

"That's arson, and whoever did it is going to face several charges," Laney added.

"Well, the man who installed all of these wires in the building is Roger Simmons," Wess explained. "He's Mr. Duncan's son-in-law and the electrical engineer."

"He had no idea what he was doing, and he placed all these people's lives in danger," Lana added.

"Yeah," Laney agreed. "We need to get him down here and tell everyone."

"Let's go, sis!" Lana commanded.

Lana and Laney fled outside, spread their wings, and flew up to the Promenade Room.

They arrived and helped get the people down.

"All right, we got everyone down," J.D. said.

"That's good," Lana replied. "Mr. Duncan, we found some startling information."

"What did you find out?" Mr. Duncan asked, ", and thank you for saving us."

"You're welcome," Lana replied. "Laney and I discovered that some of the electrical wiring had been corroded by acid and had been cut with a knife, which was the cause of the fire. Simmons is responsible for starting the fire and killing 180 people."

"That's absurd!" Roger protested.

"Don't play games with us!" Laney shouted back. "We know you did it, Simmons. The writing is on the wall."

"Yeah," Lana agreed. "I found this in your pocket while we were carrying you down." She took out a bottle of sulfuric acid.

Angered, Mr. Duncan yelled, "I'll hang you for this!"

"Mr. Duncan will stand trial for his crimes," J.D. vowed. "Right now, we need to look into if any other wiring systems were damaged. This was done with malice and hatred for Mr. Duncan."

"I think you're right, J.D., and killing all those people might have been collateral damage," Laney added.

"Well, let's go," Lana suggested.

They flew into the building and made a full sweep of it, discovering that all of the electrical and junction boxes throughout the building had corroded wires, which was the cause of the sprinkler system not working.

"This is worse than we feared," Lana added.

"Simmons most likely wanted Duncan dead so he could take all of his money."

Laney agreed with Lana. "You're right."

Lana and Laney reported their findings, and the police booked Roger into jail without bond.

His trial began, and many witnesses testified. The trial lasted two days, and Roger Simmons was found guilty on all charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and aggravated arson. He was immediately sentenced to death.

J.D., Laney, Lana & Lola, and Lily had their pictures published in the paper under the headline "Heroes of the San Francisco Highrise Fire." The following day, Roger Simmons was executed in the gas chamber.

The exercise ended, and they went into the kitchen for dinner.

THE END.
