Chapter 8:
My Lullaby
Inside the termite mound, Stone Heart approaches a small tree stump that looked like a small throne and dropped Ocellus unceremoniously on it. Ocellus looked up to see Stone Heart smiling evilly down on her for he is beginning to see something he has dreamed of his whole life.
"I now see the path to our glorious return…to power!" Stone Heart declared to the other Outsiders as they begin to snarl and chatter to each other.
"But I don't want…" Ocellus tried to say, but Stone Heart interrupted her.
"HUSH!...Hush, my little filly. You must be exhausted," Stone Heart said in a harsh tone at first but then changed it into a fatherly tone. It was almost tender, which was even more frightening than his angry voice.
Then he began to sing as he tucks Ocellus in so she can get some rest for the night…
Stone Heart: Sleep My Little Ocellus…
Don't Let Your Dreams Make You Scream…
One Day When You're Big And Strong…
You'll be a Queen.
"Goodnight," Ocellus said with a small smile. Though she didn't want to be Queen, she saw no point in arguing with her father. And she was tired.
"Goodnight, my little princess. Tomorrow your training intensifies," Stone Heart said as he walks off with an evil smirk on his face.
Stone Heart: I've been exiled, persecuted, left alone with no defense.
When I think of what that fool did I get a little…tense!
But I dream a dream so amazing, that I don't feel so depressed.
Cause it smooths my inner stallion and helps me get some rest.
Stone Heart travels deeper into the termite mount recalling how he was wronged and left alone in the past. And he lights up his horn in anger when he gets tense about what they did to him.
Stone Heart walks along as the other Outsiders turned to their leader as he moves on, talking about how he had a dream and it helps him calm down and get some goodnight rests too.
But then Stone Heart landed down on a rock as Aria and Pharynx came around, and Stone Heart reveal what his dream was about as he continues singing…
Stone Heart: The sound of Twilight's Dying Gasp…
Aria acted like Twilight choking as she collapsed to the ground while Stone Heart and Pharynx watch. Pharynx getting more and more excited at the prospect of regaining their home, Stone Heart just wants to see Twilight drop dead. Preferably in the most painful way possible.
Stone Heart: Her son screaming in my grasp!...
Stone Heart's shadow was revealed to be Aria holding Pharynx as if they were acting like Stone Heart having Dusk within his evil grasp. Of course, Pharynx was kicking Aria as he got away.
Stone Heart: All Of Equestria's Mournful Cry…
That's My Lullaby!
Stone Heart reaches the top of a ledge where the sun was shining through two holes and below him are some Alicorns moving along to find something to do.
Stone Heart: Now the past I tried forgetting and my foes I've tried to forgive.
The trouble is I know that it's petty.
But I hate to let them live!
Stone Heart saw a little sprout of a plant and like that he squashed it with his own hoof.
Then Aria appeared behind him as he licked his hoof clean from stomping on the sprout. Aria started singing…
Aria: So you found yourself somepony who'll chase Twilight up a tree?
Stone Heart: Oh, the battle may be bloody but that kinda works for me.
Stone Heart then cupped Aria's snout with his hoof and then tossed her down the ledge screaming.
Stone Heart: The Melody Of Angry Growls!
Stone Heart slid down as he passes a few Alicorns who whinnied in anger, wanting to take back what's rightfully theirs.
Stone Heart: A counterpoint of painful howls!
Stone Heart approaches the unconscious Aria and stepped on her tail, causing her to scream in pain as she looked at her messed up tail while Stone Heart moved on.
Stone Heart: A Symphony of Death, Oh My!
That's My Lullaby!
Stone Heart heads to a ledge where the sun shines on him and the Outsiders turned their leader while Stone Heart turned to his followers with an evil smile as he moves on.
Stone Heart: Chrysalis Is Gone, but Stone Heart is still around…
To love this little lass.
Stone Heart returns to the chamber where he left Ocellus to sleep for the night. He looked up recalling how Chrysalis was now long gone, but he's still around to love Ocellus and guide her as he gave the sleeping filly a loving father kiss.
Stone Heart: Until she learns to be a killer.
With the lust of being bad!
Stone Heart approaches a wall blocking out the sunlight. Then he scratches the walls with the strength of revenge as he moves on once again.
While Stone Heart heads off, the other Outsiders were watching over the sleeping Ocellus. Aria and Pharynx were at the stump and Aria was definitely not happy at all since Ocellus appears to be getting more attention.
"Sleep Little Bug," Aria insulted as she turned to see Pharynx glaring at her.
Aria: I mean…have a precious little dream.
Pharynx pushed Aria aside and turned to Ocellus as he begins to sing…
Pharynx: One day when you're big and strong…
While Pharynx was singing, Aria appeared behind him with her horn glowing, looking like she was ready to kill him.
But then they were interrupted when they hear Stone Heart singing and they turned to see him grabbing a root with his hoof.
Stone Heart: You will be a Queen!
Stone Heart removed the root, letting in the setting sunlight shine on Ocellus. The other Outsiders began to gather around the future leader of their band, for they are starting to see what Stone Heart sees in Ocellus themselves.
Stone Heart: The Pounding On The Drums Of War!
The Thrill Of Ocellus's mighty Magical Roar!
As Stone Heart sang, the Outsiders began jumping over and around Ocellus while she was still sleeping. They whinnied with anger and hate, flew with their wings opened with revenge, and their horns glowing ready to take back what's theirs.
Aria ( Liking Where This Is Going ): The Joy Of Vengeance!
Pharynx ( Appearing In Front Of Her ): Testify!
Stone Heart: I can hear the cheering!
Aria (reluctant) and Pharynx (excited): Ocellus Is Better Than A Pegasi!
Aria was holding up a little flag and waving it with boredom and jealousy. She wished it was her getting the adoration and that the band was looking to her as their future leader.
Stone Heart: Payback Time Is Nearing…
And then our flag will fly!
Against the blood-red sky!
As Stone Heart sang the last lyrics, he struggles his way through the hole until he finally breaks free and emerges at the very top of the huge termite mound where all the other outsiders have gathered whinnying in determination to get their revenge.
Stone Heart and Chorus: That's…My…Lulla…BYYYYYYYYYYYY!
After that, Stone Heart let out a menacing cackle for soon they will have their revenge and the dark age for Equestria will return once more…maybe even forever.
