Chapter 15:

Twilight's Nightmare

Later that very night, in the Castle, Twilight and Flash were sleeping in their bed chamber but while Flash was sleeping peacefully, Twilight was starting to moan uncomfortably because she was having a bad dream about something. Something that has been haunting her ever since she was a foal…

( In Twilight's Dream… )

Twilight was running until she heard a familiar voice calling to her for help and stopped as she looked down and saw who was calling her name.

"TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! HELP ME!" Aurora Sparkle, Twilight's Deceased Mother, shouted out hanging onto the face of a cliff with a herd of Caribou stampeding below her.

"MOTHER!" Twilight shouted out to her mother.

But as Aurora struggles to climb up, Twilight heard a familiar cackling, which means they're not alone. Twilight recognized the cackle as she looked up and saw somepony she wished to never see again. Standing on the ledge above them was Chrysalis cackling evilly as she heads down towards them.

Twilight looks at Chrysalis approaching them with shock and fear in her eyes. Not wanting to relive the very moment she lost her parents or lose her mother again, Twilight turned to her mother and reaches out her hoof to Aurora.

"No! Mom! Just a little farther!" Twilight said as she and her mother keep reaching their hoof out before Chrysalis comes.

The two mares' hooves neared each other but just before Twilight could even grab her mothers' hoof, she felt something stomp against her hoof. Suddenly she was hanging from the cliff! This was a little bit different from most nightmares and worrying.

"Gotcha! Trust me, Twilight," Chrysalis said as Twilight turned to see her traitorous aunt latching her hooves on Twilight's hoof.

"TWIIIIILLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGHHHHHHT!" Aurora cried out as Twilight turned to her only to see her mother starting to slip off the cliff.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Twilight shouted in despair as she watched her own mother fell off the cliff and into the stampede toward her death.

"Chrysalis!" Twilight said, turning to Chrysalis with a vengeful look on her face as her horn started to glow intensely, ready to defeat the Alicorn who took everything away from her.

Chrysalis continued cackling evilly until suddenly her combed mane began to move into a forward position and her face began to morph into something else. Now instead of Chrysalis, in her place was no other than…Ocellus!

"*Gasp* Ocellus?" Twilight gasped in shock, seeing the heir of her enemy in Chrysalis's place until Ocellus let Twilight's hoof go and sent the Queen down the cliff to her demise back first.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Twilight screamed, falling towards the stampede into her death the same way her mother fell to her death…

Twilight suddenly bolted up and gasped as she looked around panting in fear. That's when Twilight realized that she was just having a nightmare but to her, it felt like a vision of some sort. If Chrysalis killed her parents at that dreadful stampede when she was a filly, Ocellus might take her shot at killing Twilight too. After all, Twilight knows that Ocellus is following Chrysalis's hoofprints. And it could only be a matter of time before Ocellus tried something similar to get rid of her.

Twilight turned to her husband and was surprised to see him sleeping peacefully with a smile on his face. But putting that aside, Twilight decided to go back to sleep and hopes to not have that nightmare again. At least tomorrow will be better…
