Chapter 16:

Training and Fun

The next morning, Twilight has freshened up and puts on her regalias as she heads to the balcony and used her magic to raise the sun. After that was complete, Twilight stretched herself for that nightmare she had last night really spooked her so Twilight decided to go for an early morning stroll to relieve herself.

Twilight arrived at a fountain in the middle of her home kingdom and decided to have a little drink to refresh herself from the tiredness. But as Twilight begins to drink, she was unaware that right behind her and sneaking up to her was Ocellus.

Ocellus growled fiercely as she lowers and lit up her horn intensely. Today's the day and Ocellus now has a chance to kill Twilight and accomplish her mission and destiny. The Outsider waits patiently for the perfect moment to strike.

At least until Dusk showed up in front of her with a smile, catching her by surprise.

"Good Morning, Ocellus. I'm ready for my first lesson! Bet I surprised you, huh?" Dusk greeted her with a chuckle as he moves around Ocellus.

Ocellus looked back to where Twilight was drinking only to find her target was gone. She was shocked, she had Twilight within her sight and was ready to strike but now thanks to Dusk, Ocellus missed her chance.

"Hey, come on, Ocellus. Let's go," Dusk said, snapping Ocellus out of it as he moves out.

Ocellus watched him go before turning back and growled lightly, she couldn't believe she missed her chance. But she did promise Dusk to teach him how to fend for himself and promises are meant to be kept. So Ocellus went along with it, but soon she will get her chance and take down Twilight. Then she'd decide what to do with Dusk. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to train with Dusk, or take down Twilight.

Later that day, Ocellus and Dusk were at the meadow where Dusk is right now hiding in the grass, trying to sneak up on Ocellus and pounce on her. Ocellus was sitting around with a bored look on her face. She keeps hearing Dusk grunting and breathing too hard, it's no wonder Dusk was having a hard time defending and protecting those in need.

'This Prince wouldn't have such in the Outlands' Ocellus thought.

Ocellus rolled her eyes and snorted as she begins counting quietly.

"3, 2, 1…" She counted until…

"Gotcha!" Dusk shouted, jumping out of the grass and right towards Ocellus.

Unfortunately, Ocellus quickly ducked out of the way and Dusk ended up landing on his back in the dirt as Ocellus walked over to him.

"I guess you could hear me, huh?" Dusk asked, smiling a little bit, embarrassed that he didn't pounce Ocellus yet.

"Only a lot, Dusk. You're still breathing too hard. If you want to surprise your enemies, you need to relax and feel the earth beneath your hooves so it doesn't shift and make noises." Ocellus explained to Dusk as she shows him by gently scraping the dirt beneath her hooves and Dusk follows her example.

Then Ocellus heard squawking and turned to see some birds flying over behind a hill and got an idea of how to show Dusk what she means.

"Ssssshhhhh. Watch the master and learn." Ocellus whispered as she approaches the hill with Dusk following behind her.

Ocellus waits until the last of the birds disappeared behind the hill. And like a lion running to pounce, she ran up the hill and jumps, ready to pounce as she whinnies out loud fiercely and her horn glowed intensely too.

But as Ocellus pounced, in front of her was Rarity who was cleaning an apple until she saw Ocellus coming towards her and screamed, causing Ocellus to screech to a halt and Rarity to fall back in fear.

"Please don't hurt or zap me, darling, please! I never met your tyrant! I mean uh…Chrysalis! Chrysalis, oh one heck of a mare! A little moody but…" Rarity pleaded as she backed up a little.

"Rarity? What are you doing here this time?" Dusk asked as he and Ocellus turned to Rarity, wanting to know what the Unicorn was up to this time.

"Dusk, darling, oh, thank goodness! Look, for once, we're not following you. This just happened to be the best spot to grow fruit trees in the kingdom. Fruit is everywhere!" Rarity explained as she shows them where the Fruit Trees are growing, and the birds are picking at them.

"But you don't call for a reservation and…Yeesh!" Rarity finished.

"Come on, you feathered vermin, get outta here!" Applejack shouted, trying to shoo away the birds but they keep on coming back.

"Go on, go get some fruit somewhere else!" Rainbow said next approaching a bird who just ate a grape.

But the bird just looked at Rainbow Dash and poked her in the snout. Rainbow held her snout in pain as she sees it going a little red before holding it again in pain.

Pinkie tried scaring away the birds by running down the hill and charging toward them. But they keep flying back down.

Dusk chuckled at his aunts' silly tactics to scare away the birds while Ocellus turned to him. Then the two Alicorns turned to see Pinkie Pie being perched on by a few birds sitting on her.

"Oh, can anypony help me? I'm getting tired and I gotta lose some pounds." Pinkie groaned, not liking how there are birds all over her right now.

"Alright, come on now birds. Get off Pinkie Pie now. She's not a tree." Fluttershy said to the birds in a kind motherly voice as the birds flew off Pinkies' head and back.

Dusk chuckles more as he and Ocellus approached them.

"Hey, maybe Dusk and the Outsider could help us. What do you think?" Pinkie proposed to her friends.

"Go on along now, Bye-bye." Fluttershy said, waving the rest of the bird away from Pinkie's tail.

"Ha! Oh, yeah, there's an idea Pinkie. "Maybe Dusk and the dangerous traitorous Outsider could help us." Rainbow Dash laughed while doing her impersonation of Pinkie Pie while Rarity, who was once again mulling over what Pinkie said, perked up.

"Hey! Wait a minute, Pinkie Pie, you're a genius!" Rarity said, getting another idea from what Pinkie Pie just proposed.

"I am?" Pinkie Pie asked herself in surprise.

"She is?!" The other mares asked in unison confusion and shock.

"Of course, perhaps Dusk and the Outsider could surely help us with this problem!" Rarity explained pointing to the two Alicorns while Ocellus looked at her with a confused look.

"I think it's worth a shot." Fluttershy said, going with Rarity's idea as Pinkie nodded her head in agreement.

"Okay then. Dusk, do you think you and Ocellus could lend us a little voice? You know? The Magical Roar Thing?" Rainbow Dash said, trying to explain.

"Magical Roar Thing?" Ocellus asked, turning to Dusk in confusion. She knew of it, but never used it.

"Like this, Ocellus." Dusk smiled as he shot out a laser of magic that took the form of a lion's head and roared, scaring away the birds.

"Woo-hoo! Come on, Do it again! Do it again!" Pinkie cheered as she and the others began to run.

Ocellus followed Dusk's example and shot a laser of magic that also took the form of a lion's head and roared too, causing more of the birds to fly away in fright.

"Yee-Haw!" Applejack cheered as she blew a raspberry at the fleeing birds.

Dusk and Ocellus then run down the hill after them. But Ocellus was confused as to like why they are running. Does this have anything to do with training and such things?

"Wait, Dusk. Why are we doing this? What's the point of this training?!" Ocellus asked, turning to Dusk.

"Training? This is just for fun, Ocellus." Dusk laughed in reply as he and Ocellus kept running, scaring away more of the birds.

"Fun?" Ocellus asked, she has never knew what fun is. In the Outlands the only thing there was fighting, training, and surviving.

Dusk laughed as they kept running and the Mane 5 ran past them as Rainbow Dash took to the air looking at Ocellus.

"Yeesh, Ocellus. You gotta get out more often. Fun!" Rainbow laughed with a smile.

"Yee-Haw! Come on, partners, let's have fun!" Applejack cheered as she and the other four mares ran after Rainbow Dash, laughing.

"Yee-Haw!" Ocellus shouted, following Applejack's example as she and Dusk ran down the hill laughing and cheering as the birds kept flying away.

It wasn't long until they chased the birds into a ravine of rocks still racing, running, flying, cheering, and laughing.

"Yee-Haw!" Ocellus cheered, for she was having a lot of fun. She could definitely see the appeal, and was loosing up.

While they were busy having fun, the birds landed on some Dragons with rhino-like horns as the Mane 5, Dusk, and Ocellus kept on running until saw they were heading right for them and screeched to a halt in front of them.

"Uh-Oh!" Dusk said, knowing they are in trouble.

The birds blew a mocking raspberry at them as the rhino-horned Dragons snorted and growled, meaning they are ready to charge. The Mane 5, Dusk, and Ocellus screamed and took off running with the Rhino Dragons chasing behind them.

Dusk came upon a bend and swiftly turns and runs with Ocellus following behind him next.

"Hey, Rhino Dragons!" Rainbow shouted as she and the other four mares followed behind Ocellus.

The Rhino Dragons continued running after them. Unaware that they had just passed them. After the Dragons left, in a small crevice, Dusk and Ocellus laughed at how they managed to get away from those creatures.

"What A Blast!" Ocellus exclaimed in excitement, that was the most fun she has ever had in ages. Maybe her whole life she thought.

"I told you it was fun." Pinkie said with a smile, causing the others to laugh some more.

"You know what, Ocellus? You're okay." Rainbow said, giving Ocellus a noogie on her mane.

"Yeah, you are pretty fun to hang around." Applejack said next with a smile.

"Thanks." Ocellus thanked, feeling greatly appreciated hearing them say those nice things to her.

The seven ponies started to try and get out, but since they stuck together in the crevice, they had to get the Mane 5 out first.

"Pardon me, dears." Rarity said, trying to get through.

"Excuse me, partners." Applejack said next, trying to get out too.

"Oh, sorry." Fluttershy apologized.

"That's it, Pinkie." Rainbow said to Pinkie as they finally got out of the crevice.

Dusk and Ocellus were about to get out of the crevice too. But before they did, they turned and accidentally touched each other's snouts, almost like they were gonna kiss.

Dusk and Ocellus chuckled nervously at each other as they finally got themselves out of the crevice and looked at each other a little affectionately.

"Hey, are you two coming or what?" Rainbow shouted to them, earning herself another elbow bump from Fluttershy.

"Rainbow, let them have their moment." Fluttershy chided.

Dusk and Ocellus then walked off following the Mane 5 to new adventures in Equestria.
