Welcome everyone to the first chapter of my new My Hero Academia story, Hero ex Machina (Hero from the Machine). Here today is my friend, Tkdboy2000. Say hello.

Tkdboy: Oh, no no, it's fine. Let me just fix a few things here, and... (There's several loud crashing noises) ...Dang it. Oh well, time's up. This'll have to do.
Yeah, let's explain a bit then the disclaimer. This is sort of an Quirk Izuku with a Quirk that makes his body a Gundam. Not going to explain to much. So Tkd, you want to do the disclaimer?
Tkdboy: ...Nah. This is your story. I only helped with a few things here and there.
Okay. Both of us don't own My Hero Academia or Gundam. Just OCs and and plot changes. Think that's good?
Tkdboy: Should be. At least, I hope it's enough.
Okay, anyways let get to the story~!
Chapter 1: Awaken the Hero ex Machina (Hero from the Machine)
Izuku Midoriya, a kid whose dream was to be a hero. His dreams from all those years ago had previously been shattered due to being diagnosed as Quirkless, although he desperately tries to prove that he has what it takes. A lot kids shunned him for it, except for three kids, a boy with honey blond hair and a Quirk the let him make and understand technology, he was Hansuke Hikaru. Another was a girl that was also shunned, due to the bloodstain-like birthmark running from her elbow to her right arm, as well as her Quirk giving her a centipede-like appearance. To say nothing of the fact that she was blind due to optic nerve atrophy. Her name was Scolo Alupihan. The last was a boy with lavender hair that let him turn into an A.I. and absorb data, while controlling technology, he was Soshi Shinzui. The four stayed together, trying to help each other out. Hansuke and Soshi tried building things to help Izuku and Scolo, help them with their dreams to become heroes. They were happy and tried to protect each other, but Katsuki Bakugo, their once friend now biggest bully to them tried to put them down.
Soshi... was fairly ignorant of Bakugo's ego. Given the fact that a rock showed more emotion than him, this was somewhat understandable. Scolo was always the one that tried to stop Hansuke from confronting Bakugo about the bulling, attempting to "keep the peace," as she called it.
But things would turn around for them, with on chance encounter. Izuku was captured buy a slime villain on his way home from school with Hansuke, Soshi and Scolo. They tried to help save him until All Might showed up and saved him. Then Izuku did something stupid, and grabbed onto All Might after he was safe and the villain was captured, his friends along for the ride trying to stop him. When they landed on the building, they encouraged Izuku to ask All Might his question, and he did... except All Might had seemingly been replaced by an emaciated man by the time they looked back up.
He told them about what happened to him and the harsh truth, that Izuku couldn't be a hero without a Quirk. This finally made Izuku lose hope. His friends tried help him, but he was completely defeated. On their way back home, they wandered past the site of a villain fight... wait, the slime Villain? When did he escape!? Did Izuku and his friends knock the Villain loose when they clung to All Might!? Izuku felt guilt for what happened, dragging his friends into his troubles, wasting All Might's time. He then saw who was trapped, and his body moved to help Katsuki. He made it that ever his friends acted to help as well. They all rushed in in an attempt to save Katsuki Bakugo, a boy who antagonized them for a majority of their lives. But in that moment, they didn't care, right then, they wanted to save a life. And they did. They managed to separate Katsuki from the slime Villain... and so the Villain attacked them. Izuku saw this and pushed them out of the way, knowing he wouldn't make it, but was smiling all the way. But the attack didn't reach them. That was because All Might came in to save them and telling them that he was being a hypocrite for not following his own ideals. He then saved them and defeated the villain.
They all then got an earful from the Pros, Izuku especially. Katsuki was being praised for surviving the villain attack. But Katsuki wasn't listening. He was busy glaring at Izuku and his friends, for having the nerve to run in and save him. And All Might was looking at them, more to Izuku, seeing him and what he truly was. And that is where our story really begins.
The four were walking home after the whole ordeal, and Izuku stopped making the others turn to him. "Hey guys… I'm sorry for dragging you all into that mess…" he apologized.
"Why are you apologizing to us?" Hansuke asked, confused by his best friend's apology.
"Indeed," Soshi stated in his usual monotone voice, "I don't understand why you feel the need to apologize for doing what you think was the right thing."
Scolo turned to where she heard Izuku, and nodded in agreement with Soshi and Hansuke. "That's right, even if it was that jerk, you did what was right."
"But I-" Izuku started but was stopped by a shout.
"Deku! Hacker! Bug Freak! Sure Shot Loser!" shouted the voice of Katsuki. All four of them turned around to see him running at him.
"Kacchan/Katsuki/Bakugo?" they all asked.
He stops and catches his breath. "Listen..." he started." I would never ask for weaklings like you to help me... Don't think you can look down on me! HUH!? GOT THAT!? I WAS FINE BY MYSELF! YOU FOUR ARE JUST QUIRKLESS FAILURES, A COMPUTER HACKER, A BLIND USELESS BUG, AND A TINKERER THAT WON'T EVEN CUT IT AS RENT-A-COPS! YOU DIDN'T HELP ME! YOU DID NOTHING...! DON'T FORGET IT...!" He then turned around and started walking away. "I DON'T OWN YOU FOUR ANYTHING!"
All four of them sweet dropped, confused by what happened.
"What was that?" Izuku asked his friends.
"No idea..." Hansuke said truthfully.
"I don't know either..." Scolo said.
"He is right though...," Izuku said. "I didn't do anything... but at least I tried... Guess now I should get back to giving up on my dreams..."
"Not this again bro..." Hansuke said, face-palming.
"Please stop saying that. Please..." Scolo said, putting her arms in a pleading position.
"Yes, you did a lot more than you think," Soshi stated monotone again, pushing up his glasses.
"You guys…" Izuku started, tears in his eyes and hug them. "We should start heading home." He then turned to leave.
"I AM HERE!" shouted All Might who came out of nowhere.
"WAAAAAAAAAAH!" all four shouted in surprise.
"All Might! Sir! Wh-Why are you here!?" Soshi shouted, still surprised.
"How in the world did you get away from all those reporters?" Hansuke asked.
All Might just laughed and started to flex. "I STAND FOR JUSTICE, NOT SOUND BITS," he explains to the four of them, "BECAUSE I AM ALL MI-" just then he turned into his weak forms and was spewing blood out his mouths.
"WAAAAAAAAAAH!" all four shouted in surprise again.
"Wh-is he coughing up blood!?" Scolo shouted.
"Yes! Can't you-oh, wait," Soshi stated, forgetting for a few seconds that Scolo was blind.
"YOU'RE GOING TO GIVE US HEART ATTACKS!" Hansuke shouted at the pro.
All Might cough a bit more, clearing his throat.
"Kids... I came here to thank you," All Might started, "and also to discuss your question from earlier young man. If you hadn't told me about your life... If you four hadn't ran into that fight... I would have been worthless bystanders watching from the crowd. So thanks."
"Oh no," Izuku said. "It was my fault he was there to begin with. I got in the way of your duties and wasted valuable time... I ever dragged my friends into it for a dumb question…"
"Which, honestly, I don't exactly approve of-" Soshi started, before he's slapped by Scolo.
"Don't beat yourself up over that, Izuku," Scolo stated.
"Yeah, you're our best friend," Hansuke added, patting him on the back.
"I'm not finished yet," All Might told them. "You told me you didn't have powers, so when I saw this timid Quirkless boy trying to save a life with the help of his friends and took command under a stressful situation... It inspired me to act too," This made all four of them turn at All Might in question. "There are stories about every hero, how they became great. Most have one thing in common. Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think, almost on their own." All four of them were shocked to hear this and Izuku was getting teary eye. "And today... that what happened to you..." Izuku then fell to his knees in both joy and sadness while Hansuke and Scolo were trying to comfort, smiling at him. "Young man... you too can become heroes."
Somewhere inside Izuku, something awoke. [Requirements have been achieved. Activating Hero ex Machina Program. Activation at 10%]
"You hear that bro," Hansuke started, shoulder hugging him. "All Might thinks you can be you can be a hero too~"
"Indeed. It seems as though your goal of being a hero is within reach," Soshi stated.
"I deem you worthy of my powers, my Quirks is yours to inherit." This made all four of them turn at the hero and give them a confused look.
"Wait..." Izuku said. "What do you mean inherit?"
"Inherit what exactly?" Hansuke asked.
[Activation at 15%]
"I am... unsure... is he referring to his...Quirk?" Soshi theorized.
All Might just started laugh. "You should see your faces right now," All Might said. "Don't worry, I'm not going to force this thing on you." He then walks closer to them. "Listen well young ones," they say pointing his finger in the air, "this is your chose, and I'm trusting your friends." He then points at them with blood spewing out of his mouths. "Do you want to accept my awesome power or not!?"
All four of them turned at each other. "What are they talking about?" Izuku asked, confused.
"Got me?" Hansuke said confused as he was.
[Activation at 21%]
"I don't know," Scolo said.
"There are a couple things you three should know about our abilities," All Might starts explaining. "Journalists always guess my Quirks is super strength or some kind of invulnerability. When people ask in interviews, I always make a joke dodge the question. That's because the world needs to believe that their symbol of peace is a natural born hero like any other hero or Quirk users, but I'm not. Theirs's nothing natural about our abilities. I wasn't born with this power, it's a sacred torch past down on to us from someone else."
"Someone gave you these Quirks?" all four of them asked in shock. "No way..."
"Yes way," All Might say, "and you are next. I can give you my abilities."
"Wait, hold on," Izuku said, "this is a lot to process. It's true that they're debates about your powers really is but no one has found out what it is, it's one of the world's biggest mysteries."
"Uh, Izuku, you okay?" Hansuke asked worriedly about his friend.
[Activation at 34%]
"...Izuku? Are you there?" Scolo asked Izuku, although Izuku was too caught up in his muttering to notice.
"I think his brain is frying," Soshi stated, actually a bit worried about him a bit.
"Ah... sounds like you're overthinking this whole inherit thing..." All Might tell Izuku who was muttering up a storm. "STOP NERDING OUT ALREADY!" This got said boy to stop muttering and look back at All Might. "You'll have to adjust your and accept this new truth. I can transfer my Quirk to someone else, and that's just one facet of my secret ability. The true name of our powers One for All."
"One For All?" they all ask.
[Activation at 50%]
"One for All: One person improves the power and then hands it down to another person. It continues to grow as it's passed on from along." All Might tells them. "It is this cultivated power that allows me to save those who are in need of a hero, the truth be hide my strength"
[Activation at 67%]
"But why would chose use to have a gift like that?" Izuku asked, shakily. "What if we can't live up to it?"
"Bro, if anyone is, it's you," Hansuke stated firmly.
"Indeed," Soshi stated, "You certainly are the best fit for this. You have the heart and spirit of a Hero. Now you are being offered the power."
Scolo nodded in agreement.
"I was on a long hunt for a worth successors," All Might tells them. "Then, I saw you four jump into action as the rest of us watch from the sidelines. You four might be Quirkless fan, an inventor, an AI kid and a blind centipede girl, but you four tried to save the kid. You three acted like heroes." What they said started to make Izuku started to cry while Hansuke and Scolo tried to comfort him again.
[Activation at 81%]
"See even All Might see you as one Izuku~" Hansuke told him. Soshi nods, as does Scolo.
'T-They've said so much to encourage me…' Izuku though, clenching his fist on pants. 'All Might even told me the secret behind his Quirk." Izuku then rubbed his eyes, getting his tears out of them. 'Is this what I've been waiting for all these years…? How can I turn him down!?' Izuku got up, a new fire of determination in his eyes. "Okay I'll do it! Yes!"
"Not reluctant, that's exactly how I figured you would respond," All Might said, smiling at smiling.
[Activation at 100%. Now executing Hero ex Machina Program.]
Izuku blinked, think he heard something. "Did you guys say-" he started but what felt like a pulse of energy surged through his body, more in his chest where his heart was. He clutched it. "W-What's going on?"
All Might, Hansuke, Scolo and Soshi look worried. "Young man, are you alright?" All Might asked, panicking a bit.
"Bro what's going on?" Hansuke asked, worried.
"I-I don't know, I-I heard someone taking, then shooting pain…" Izuku groans out.
Soshi went to touch him but reeled back because he was burned by Izuku. "Agh! Izuku, you're burning up! Literally!" Soshi shouted, holding his slightly burnt hand.
Scolo could sense the heat coming from Izuku as well. Just then, they heard what could only be metal snapping and welding. Izuku threw his uniform off, finally feeling the heat, and they saw his body was looking more mechanic, shocking all of them.
"Uh… Tell you guys are seeing and sensing this…?" Hansuke asked in shock.
"I'm seeing it, but I though the young man said he didn't have a Quirk," All Might asked, shocked.
"He shouldn't," Soshi stated, "We tried for years, but there was no sign of a Quirk..."
"W-What if it was a mental block or a command requirement that triggered it?" Hansuke asked.
"But what could have-?" All Might started, then his eyes widened. "Maybe when I told him he could be a hero, it helped."
They saw that the metal was getting color and was getting more of a definition that was recognizable. Then they as his hair was growing out and a helmet was growing from his head. He was becoming a human size Gundam.
"A Gundam, huh? That's... interesting," Soshi said.
"That's what he looks like?" Scolo asked.
Izuku fell to all four, huffing and puffing. He held his how metallic hand to his hand to his head. When he opened his eyes, he was seeing what looked like pop up of description of the others. He then shook his head. "W-What happened?"
[Allow me to explain it to you] the same voice from before called out to Izuku, making him look around.
"Did you guys say something?" Izuku asked the others.
"I didn't say anything," Hansuke stated, looking to the others.
"Wasn't me, All Might said, holding his hands up.
"...An A.I., perhaps?" Soshi inquired, "Part of your... Quirk?"
"My what?" Izuku asked, then saw his body. He was now freaking out looking himself over. "Whoa, what the- What happened to me!?"
[If I may] The voice said, but they all heard it. Then an organ textured humanoid AI appeared from Izuku's wrist, shocking them. [Greetings I am Izuku's Quirk AI partner, you may call me Atlas]
"Okay, can this get any weirder…?" Izuku asked, still in shock.
"...Yes. You could turn into a miniature ship and fly around," Soshi stated with a somewhat sarcastic tone.
[Sarcasm aside, congratulation Izuku Midoriya, you have finally unlocked your Quirk] Atlas congratulated him.
"M-My Quirk?" Izuku asked in shock, still not believing this what he was hearing. "I-I have a Quirk…?"
"But then... what triggered it?" Scolo asked, confused.
[It was due to All Might's full-hearted confession that Izuku could be a hero, someone he looks up to, like his mother, activating the Hero ex Machina Program,] the AI explained. [Yes, you told him before, but he needed someone he looked up to and inspired to tell him it.]
"Really? That's... an interesting limitation," Soshi stated.
"Maybe it's because of how strong this Quirk can be," Hansuke theorized. "You've seen what it did to Izuku when it activated."
Atlas nodded. [Right, at the age he would have gotten it, his body wouldn't have handled the power source or the pain, it would have been better for him to awaken it late like a late bloomer's Quirk. But it still affected him, his hero notes, detailed like a machine and written as fast as one.]
"...That makes a bit of sense..." Soshi said, more intrigued by Atlas than by the rest of Izuku's Quirk.
"So wait," All Might started. "Does Young Midoriya have OP powers like Gundam shows?"
[As of now, no, he just awoke his power core and body, he'll still need to train his body and Quirk, as well he does not have weapons, but he can empower them with his own if it's made for him. And his Metal is not that strong ether.] Atlas explained, making Izuku's head slump.
"...So what you're saying is that while Izuku doesn't have the OP powers, but he can be given the powers externally?" Soshi inquired.
Atlas nodded. [Yes, but it will drain him. Also, I do not know what will happen if he were to get One for All. It may just boost him and his core.]
"Then I see no harm in passing it on to him," Soshi stated.
[Have you seen the power he punches around…?] Atlas asks flatly. "But I will tell you everything else later. You should head home and finish talking with All Might.] They then vanished away.
"we'll I see I might need to think about your Quirk as well now young Midoriya, if you still want to inherit my Quirk," All Might started, getting a betrayed look from him. "I mean, you'll have to get use to your new Quirk, you just awaken it. It'll take time."
"I still want to All Might," Izuku stated, finally getting up, smiling more brightly than ever. "I want to as thank for helping me achieve my Quirk and my dream. I'll just work ten, even twenty times harder." They all saw and felt the determination coming off Izuku, making them all smile. Then it vanished. "… What am I going to tell my mom!?" he shouted, realization hitting him.
"Oh dear, I completely forgot," Hansuke said.
"Tell her the truth. Your Quirk awakened. And you're going out to train, so don't worry too much," Scolo suggests.
"I hope she won't have a heart attack…" Izuku stated.
"Well, I'll let you our get this situated for the next few days," All Might told them. "I'll contact young Midoriya for the training later and you can come to help motivate him." He then walked away.
"Right," Soshi said.
"I hope mom will be okay bout this…" Izuku said.
(Midoriya Apartment)
Inko Midoriya didn't know what to expect that day, her son coming home different with what looked like Gundam Armor and it was his Quirk would not have been on the listen, but she was so happy. "IZUKU…!" she shouted/cried rivers and hugging her child. "I'M SO SORRY…! I SHOU'LDN'T HAVE TOLD YOU WHAT I SAID ALL THOSE YEARS AGO…! IF I HAD KNOWN-…!"
Izuku stopped her, but still hugged her back, tears in his eyes. "I don't blame you mom…" he told her. "Neither of us could have known…"
Soshi and the others were there, too, to make sure there were no issues between Izuku and Inko, and to help him explain in the event that he got too emotional.
"...So... how do you exit Gundam mode?" Soshi inquired.
"Oh, can you turn it off?" Inko asked, sniffing a bit, but better.
Atlas appeared, startling Inko. [I'm sorry for startling you ma'am. I am Atlas, your son AI for his Quirk. As for his body as a Gundam… It is permanent. I'd suggest getting stronger furniture soon.]
"Wait, so everyone at school will see me like this?" Izuku asked, fear in his voice.
"… Oh dear… I don't think Katsuki will like this…" Hansuke stated, surprising Inko.
"What do you mean?" she asked them. The others looked to Izuku.
"You never told her?" they asked.
"I-I didn't want her to worry…" he said sadly.
"Oh, dear," Scolo said, worried about Izuku's personal safety.
[I think I should explain Izuku's Quirk a bit before you tell her about what goes on in his life.] Atlas told them. [He needs to know what his strengths and weaknesses are.]
"I guess," Hansuke said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yes, that would be wise," Soshi stated in his typical monotone voice.
All of them took a seat, Izuku held his arm out for Atlas. [Okay, what would you all like to know?] The AI asked them.
"...How does Izuku's new form affect his nutrition intake?" Soshi inquired.
[Ah, a good question. He can still eat regular food and drinks as well, but now he is now able to eat any metal, and drink oil and gasoline as well, which helps his body get stronger.]
Everyone blinks. "Okay, I've seen and heard a lot of strange things of Quirks, but this is top 10 to 20," Izuku stated.
"Well, it's not that bad, it'll help in the long run," Hansuke stated.
"So, theoretically, he could eat a building for sustenance?" Scolo asked Atlas, curious about the implications.
[Can you explain your reasoning?] Atlas asked her.
"Just in case, like, he needed to make an entrance into an enemy base..." Scolo said, with the mental image of Izuku literally taking a bite in a wall and then running through the opening he makes.
[Unless it's made completely of metal, then no.]
"Ah, okay."
"...How are you here? Are you a part of Izuku?" Soshi asked, curious about the AI.
[Yes and no, I am a part of Izuku, yes, but I'm also my own being, sort of a living Quirk] they explained.
"Whoa, those are so rare, like 5% of Quirks," Izuku stated, stars in his eyes and pulled out a new notebook he got a notebook for himself and wrote down what they were told.
"Okay, so what is this power you were telling us about?" Hansuke asked.
[It's is like a self-sustaining energy that could power a whole city for a day but will leave Izuku wiped out for almost a month. He can Let it grow with training and sustenance to make it last longer. Right now, all he can do with it is make a force field that can only protect him.]
"Interesting..." Soshi muttered to himself. He had a hand on his chin.
[But like his metal covering his body right now, it can break easily like glass and has to consciously activate it.]
"Wait," Izuku stated, stopping his writing, "earlier I had what looked like information I could see when I opened my eyes and say my friends. What was that."
[Ah, that was your information software." Atlas explained. [It helps you understand a situation so you can learn faster, find weak spots if you fight an enemy, and if your pushing it, can see the future but only for a few seconds and will give you a migraine after.] This made Inko, Izuku and Hansuke wince.
"Good to use but only when I'll need it the most, and I'm guessing it'll get better later too?" Izuku asked, getting a nod from his AI.
"Well then. You'd better get practicing tomorrow," Soshi stated.
"I will after school," Izuku said. "I'll come over to your guys house to train in Hansuke's back yard."
[There's one more thing.] Atlas called out. [There are AI chip placers in the back of Izuku's neck. I'm permanently a part of Izuku so I don't have one. But I saw that Hansuke was a Technomancer and Sochi was a AI switch, so if you plan on making other AIs' you can have Izuku work with them, but not to many at once. It'll get confusing for Izuku if he has multiple people planning at once for now."
"I think one's enough for now," Soshi said, "but I'll think about it."
"Same," Hansuke agreed. Then him, Soshi and Scolo got up. "We should get home now."
"Yeah. We'll see you... hopefully tomorrow, Izuku?" Scolo asked Izuku.
"You three will," Inko told them. She then looked to Izuku. "And he's going to tell me everything about what's been going on at school to." Izuku gulped and that was the three's que to leave.
"Wait, don't leave me!" Izuku shouted to his friends that already left.
"Now Izuku," Inko start in a sweat tone but with an aura that was of a mother's disappointment, "tell me everything."
