Chapter one
Christina woke up at five to get ready for her day. She had a meeting at seven before school with her soulmate and her brother. She got ready and headed out to the common room for breakfast. She was seventeen and was a junior on paper at school. She was undercover there at the moment because people were picking on her sister Leia. She was actually a grad student at home. She had her bachelor's in chemistry, biology, medical, and finance. She was also a Co-CEO of Stark Industries. She went about the start of her day as usual, went to the meeting, and then Happy drove the three to school. When they got there they met up with Kari, Peter's soulmate who everyone else calls MJ, and walked to Mr. Harrington's chemistry class. Needless to say, it was boring. She just sat next to Damian, and tried not to fall asleep. When the bell rang she tried not to jump and sit on the ceiling. Spider senses are great. She was interrupted from her thoughts by her teacher,
"Class before you all go, we have gotten permission from Stark Industries to take a tour of the building. The field trip is Friday." He said, That woke her up. She was in charge of the field trips so she must have allowed it without looking at it. Damian and Peter were just as surprised as she was. Of course Flash couldn't just leave them alone, and decided to run his mouth.
"Are you ready to be called out? I know you don't have an internship, they don't even hire interns."
"Do you really think you can get to me like that Flash? Try harder." She replied not even caring what he thought. Flash was a jerk he didn't listen and he really should've. Christina and her twin Peter were Stark's adopted when she broke out of the Red Room and found Peter. They also were enhanced as well as her soulmate Damian. She had spider powers, water and ice powers, super strength, and super speed. Her twin Peter had all the same except he had fire powers instead of water. Damian had all the same as Christina except he had stealth and lightning. The kid was picking on three of the most powerful kids on earth and he didn't know it. Peter was seething. The downside of fire powers was he had a very short temper. The things flash said bothered him. He was trying to control them and it was working so far, but if Flash went too far he could very well have a mad twin to deal with. Damian grabbed Christina's hand and pressed the marks on their wrists together, in a move perfected by much practice with Flash. She felt the instant calm from the bond, so she wasn't fuming. And was in good enough headspace to reach out to Peter, and calm him down as well before things got bad. They left the room and met up with Kari, and left her the task of calming him down the rest of the way. The rest of the morning went as well as it could and they regrouped at lunch. Damian was in all Christina's classes, and they didn't have any others with Flash except for chemistry. Christina got her food and started texting her mom.
Christina: Hey mom do you remember me allowing midtown a field trip to SI.
Mom: Yeah, you accepted their request last week.
Christina: I must have been patrolling late that night because I don't remember that.
Mom: yeah you were out past One.
Christina: Ok well we're going on Friday so I'll give you the permission slip when I get home. Love you.
Mom: Ok love you too.
Christina put her phone back in her pocket, and leaned into Damian's shoulder.
"Hey beautiful, you ok?" He asked as he shifted her in his arms, so he could hug her.
"I am now I just texted my mom she said that I approved the field trip about a month ago. I love you Dami, and I'm glad you're here." She said, hugging him back quickly, and then pulling apart.
"I love you too." He replied then he reached for her hand, and put their wrists together again. They had to be careful. The school didn't like PDA, and their bond was not settling easily. Most soulmates bonds would have settled years ago, but theirs has taken two years and it still hasn't settled yet. It probably won't settle for two more. It's an unusual bond for sure, but they also have a force bond that isn't happy when they're apart as well. They can be apart for about ten minutes, that's about it. Their spider healing helps them not feel the symptoms for about five minutes. When they saw Peter and MJ who had soulmates in the same places as them walking towards them. Damian let out a small whistle to let them know where he and Christina were. They went to get lunch and then went back and sat down. Spider metabolism was very hard to keep up with. They talked and had a business meeting with the company through Crystal, Christina's AI. They had gym class in the pool after lunch. Christina was in her own head, and she went through her warm up like she normally did in the pool. She accidentally forgot who was in the room. She was pulled out of her thoughts by Damian putting his hand on her collarbone where her other soulmark was. He did that so she didn't freak out. He had a feeling she would anyway and most likely would have a panic attack when she surfaced. She was sitting on the bottom of the deep end of the twelve foot pool. The other panic inducing thing was that she had to wear a swimsuit. The top was a long sleeve black wet shirt and the bottom was just regular swim shorts, but the top was tight. Normally for anyone else that wouldn't be a problem, but she was supposed to be bad at gym class. She wasn't in fact she was ripped, and could wipe the floor with anyone in the room save her boyfriend and her brother as well as his girlfriend. The other thing was even though the shirt was black her soulmarks would glow when Damian was around, and they glowed brighter in the water. Thankfully the shirt was dark enough to hide them. The last thing was she had stayed at the bottom for over five minutes, and the teachers were scared. Damian had jumped in and swam over to her. When he got there her eyes were glowing not that anyone could tell but he could, and he knew that as soon as she surfaced she would freak out.
"Ari, come on, we have to surface." He said calmly and gently. He knew she was fine and completely in her element, but if her eyes glowed like that it meant she was either scared, mad, or extremely calm. She had been on the verge of panicking all day and right now she was calm. But as soon as she realized where she was, she would panic and could potentially cause a tiny tsunami. She didn't respond to him, so he pulled her up and sat her down next to the side of the pool. She slowly gained more awareness from being pulled from her safe place. She didn't want to be on land right now. She wanted to be in the water, but Damian was holding her so it wasn't that bad.
"Hey there beautiful, nice of you to join us." Damian whispered.
"Hey Dami, why did you pull me out? I was fine." She asked
"I pulled you out because the teacher was getting worried about you. We aren't at home sweetheart." Damian responded, hugging her tighter to him and trying to ground her.
"Wait what? I completely spaced out and now everyone's going to find out. And I can't deal with that, and then they'll try to crowd me, and they're coming to our house, and I can't use my safe place here. And Flash is being a jerk still and how am I supposed to act now because I'm fine and anyone else wouldn't be. Dami they're here, I can't breathe." She gasped, spiraling and panicking at the same time. Her senses were being overloaded, and the shirt Damian had on was irritating them more.
"Ari, listen to me I need you to breathe with me ok." Damian said, his heart breaking for her even more. She was having a flashback from the immediate loss of calm. He slowed and exaggerated his breathing, putting his forehead against hers, and trying to calm her down.
"They aren't here Ari, tell me five things you can feel that weren't there."
"You weren't there, the tile wasn't there, neither was my swimsuit. I was wearing my other suit, the water on the floor wasn't there and the shirt you're wearing wasn't there. My senses are still on overdrive and the fabric kinda hurts." She replied calmer, but her head was hurting and her skin felt like it was on fire.
"Oh, I'm so sorry sweetheart. Pete can you get my other shirt and my sweatshirt from my locker, and MJ can you get Chrissy's other clothes?" He asked, knowing what the answer would be.
"Sure Damian, take care of my sister ok." Peter answered.
"You know I will." Damian replied. He picked Christina up, and carried her to the room just off of the pool. Once he got there he sat down and just held her. He also took off his t-shirt, so the fabric wouldn't irritate her skin. He put her head on his chest and went into sensory overload as well, and had to calm his anger down as well as worry. After a while he was able to ground himself by holding her. Peter was back a couple minutes later. He wasn't to surprised that Damian took off his shirt. He could tell that he went into overload as well and he had seen him hold his sister so many times it didn't bother him. He had brought Damian's soft shirt that he kept in his locker. As well as Damian's sweatshirt that Christina used to ground herself in his scent. The materials were very soft, so that they weren't irritating their skin. Once Damian felt it was safe enough to move her he went to the locker room and changed. While Christina went to the other locker room and did the same. They met at the door and Damian carried her back to the small lounge room again, Seeing as she almost fell down. Peter went and sat next to Kari as Damian sat on the couch with Christina in his lap. Damian's phone rang and his AI Adrian said,
"It's a call from Boss Lady/ you're future mother in law. Shall I answer it?"
"Yeah, just enable the Shaelean spider's had an overload protocol." Damian replied,
"Do you need me to come get you?" Pepper Stark said, as the hologram of her popped up.
"I don't think so, but we're just going to hang out here for now. Peter already talked to the teachers, and they're going to send our work here. We're calming down, it's taking a while. It would be faster if we could just do what we normally do at home, But we can't so it's fine. I foresee a movie night, under a ton of blankets, with direct contact to the collarbone marks in our near future. Without that we won't be completely fine. Plus the twins' birthday is tomorrow can't we just get married? I already asked her after I asked Tony, and he's fine with it and not even a little surprised." He said.
"I'm not surprised either. You have our permission, and the documents are already ready; they just need to be signed by you two. As you know we are your Guardians, so you don't need your parents signatures. Just sign tomorrow, all the soulmate stuff will be protected too." She replied.
"Alright sounds good. Thanks Pepper. We will be home soon. There is only thirty minutes left of school anyway." He replied excitedly.
