Title: Peter's No Longer Fighting Alone

Author: Wereleopard58

Rating: T/Teen and up audiences

Show: MCU

Pairing: Peter Parker & Tony Stark. No romantic pairings at the moment.

Warning: MCU

Summary: Peter meets Tony Stark after saving Pepper Potts. After Peter is hurt, Tony insists on an upgrade. He gets an internship with SI, which no one apart from Ned believes, and of course, there is a trip to SI itself. All Peter wanted to do was get by under the radar. Spiderman got the attention. It's why he wore a mask to separate them. He couldn't see how he was going to get through this visit unscathed.

A/N Civil War and onwards never happen. Bucky joins the Avengers after Winter Soldier, and they've solved the brainwashing problem. More tags will probably be added as I have no idea where it's going and if there will be any romances or more characters.

Peter sat on the rooftop and looked around. Everything was so beautiful from here, especially as the sun had gone down. He'd helped get a kitten from a tree for a little girl, carried some shopping home for an elderly lady and played soccer with some teens. Admittedly they were the same age as him.

He was happy as long as he could help people. Just then, he stood up and looked towards a noise. Peter wasn't sure what had caught his attention. His senses were so in tune with everything around him that they picked things up, and it took a little longer to understand the problem.

As soon as a woman screamed, he held up his hand released his web so he could swing to aid whoever was in trouble. As he swung down, Peter lacked the guy away from the victim and webbed him up.

"Dude, that's no way to treat a lady. You clearly need lessons on how to ask someone on a date. I can set you up on one. I know some police officers who would love to meet you." He then walked over and held out his hand to help her up.

She reached up and took hold of his hand, and he pulled her up. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Peter realised who it was. "Ms Potts, I hope you're uninjured. I got here in time, didn't I?"

"Yes, you did, uh…"

"It's Spiderman, ma'am."

"Not in that onesie." A new voice joined them as Ironman landed. His faceplate flipped to uncover his face. "Are you okay, Pepper?"

"I'm fine, thank you. Spiderman saved me." She smiled at him.

"I'm glad I could help. I'd better let the police know they have a pick-up." Peter scuffed his toes against the ground and looked down at them. His hero was in front of him, and he didn't know what to say.

Pepper coughed at Tony and nodded at the kid in front of her. Well, he sounded young.

"Yes, well, thank you for helping Pepper." He eyed the suit Spiderman was wearing. He'd scanned him quickly before he'd landed. It was just in case he planned on hurting pepper. Nothing was aiding him except the devices around his wrists. That outfit didn't give any protection at all. How wasn't he already dead? "Look, kid–."

"Kid?"

"Don't try it. Your voice and vocabulary gave you away. Shouldn't you be at home working on school work and chasing girls or boys, whatever you prefer? You do you."

"Look, Mr Stark–."

"Call me Tony." He grinned.

"Oh, I couldn't do that, Mr Stark," Peter was horrified at calling his mentor by his first name. His Aunt May would kill him.

Tony opened his mouth and then closed it. There was no point arguing over what he was called. At least it was polite. Other names weren't so lovely, so he'd let it go, for now.

"Come back to SI and let me design you a better suit. One that would give you some protection."

"Oh, I couldn't accept that. Goodbye, Mr Stark. I'm glad you're okay, Ms Potts." Peter went to one of the buildings and climbed up it. He wanted to show off a little. Once on top of the roof, he swung away.

Tony watched him until he was out of sight.

"Tony, Tony?" Pepper yelled.

"What, sorry, Pep. How did he do that?"

"Do what?" She asked.

"Climb up the building. There was nothing in his suit that could explain that."

"What about the swinging?" She had thought that there were things in it that could explain what Spiderman could do.

"He has contraptions around his wrists. I would be interested in how they work. But that 'webbing' is really intriguing. I would love to know how much weight it could take. I do think he's working alone, though."

"Why do you think that?"

"He doesn't have a communication device and no tracker. There isn't anything linking him to anyone else. What made him decide to do this?" The more he thought about it, the more interested he was. "Friday, the next time this Spiderman is spotted, record everything and let me know."

"Do you want me to check business and government cameras as well as mobiles, boss?" She asked

"Use everything you can." Tony was concerned that the kid was going to get hurt." Can I give you a lift?" He smirked.

Pepper smiled at him. They had dated, but things were better after they had split up. She had been so used to treating him like a child to get him to do something for so long; it had crossed over into their relationship. It wasn't healthy. He could still act childish, but he had grown up a lot since being kidnapped. "Yes, thank you." She knew that he would hide in his lab and work on things to help Spiderman. Pepper would rather whoever the young man would give up the superhero gig. She doubted that it would happen. So the next best thing was getting a better suit. This is the sort of thing Tony thrived on.

It had been a long day. Flash had done nothing but hassle him all day. Peter was just glad the day was over.

"Get out of the way penis," Flash shoved him into a locker and laughed as he walked away.

"You okay, loser?" MJ asked.

"I'm fine."

"Cool." She walked away, head glancing at the book in her hand.

MJ slowly became their friend, and he was glad. It would be nice to have more than Ned, not that he didn't love having him as a best friend.

"He didn't hurt you, did he?" Ned looked him up and down as if he could spot any injury.

"He couldn't if he tried," Peter whispered.

"True," Ned replied. "Are you coming round for Legos?"

"Just for a little while. I have to go out, and you know."

"I'm not sure you should do that. You could get really hurt."

"I have to, you know why. Come on, we have a Lego building to finish," Ned's mother had brought him an SI. They were so excited to get to it, and Peter couldn't wait to tell him who else he had met.

Tony watched the endless videos of Spiderman on YouTube. Not only did he have that spider web thing and could climb walls, but he was also flexible and extremely strong.

He knew people who had strength like Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes and The Hulk, to name a few. But he was tiny. Tony had to get that kid in here. It seemed he took on anything with no help and wearing pyjamas and googles. The more he watched, the more worried he became.

Once, they were in Ned's room, sitting on the floor putting together the SI building.

"I Saved Pepper Potts from being hurt last night."

Ned slowly turned to him. His mouth and eyes were wide open. "No way. What was she like? I bet she was nice, was she nice? What did you ask her?"

"She was very nice. I didn't think it would be polite to interrogate her after being attacked

Ned was about to argue but then realised what Peter had said. "You're right."

Peter couldn't wait until he told him the next part. "I also met Tony Stark."

"0MG," Ned yelled.

"What's going on up there?" Ned's mum shouted.

"Nothing, Peter just surprised me," Ned replied.

They both stared at the door to see if she would ask anything more or come in. Nothing happened. She was used to the two of them.

"Can you keep quiet if I tell you more?"

"I can be quiet, I promise," Ned whispered, leaning towards him.

"He knew Ms Potts was in trouble, but 1 had helped her before he arrived. He thanked me and offered to help me with my suit."

"He did? When are you seeing him again?"

"I said no."

"What? Why?"

"I don't help people to get things back. I do accept the odd sweet. But do you know how much he would spend on helping me? Way too much. It would also take him away from the avengers and SI. I couldn't do that."

"I would've said yes. You're too nice. Imagine Flash's face if he'd heard about it?" Ned laughed at the thought of it.

"How exactly would I explain how I met Tony Stark?"

Ned went to answer, and then stopped. "Okay, it would be a little hard to explain. But I bet Mr Stark could come up with something."

"He asked me to call him Tony," Peter loved seeing the various looks on his best friends face.

"Did you? You didn't, did you? I know you," Ned never understood with all the bullying. Peter was still the nicest person he'd ever met.

"I couldn't do that," He laughed, and they continued carrying on with the Legos laid out in front of them.

Peter started to swing towards what clearly was a fight was going on. It didn't sound like the drunks he had stopped earlier. As soon as Peter dropped quietly to the ground and looked around. He was shocked to see another avenger. This time it was the Black Widow.

She was doing well, but the people attacking her were pulling out strange guns and aiming. Peter shot his webbing in the air until it stuck to a building and swung across.

Suddenly his body was shaking with being shocked. Peter also felt numerous other pains as the projectiles entered his body.

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes came running around the corner. Those that had been attacking Natasha had runoff. She was sitting on the floor next to a bloody body.

"He needs help," Natasha whispered.

"Boss, Spiderman's been hurt saving Ms Romanoff."

"I'm on my way. Tell them not to take off his mask. He helped her. We'll only take it off if there's no other choice, and if we do only the minimum, people will see who he is,"

If only Tony had met him sooner or he insisted on giving him an upgrade, he might've been okay.

Natasha looked down at who had saved her. She agreed about keeping his mask on. For many years it was essential to keep her identity a secret.

Ironman landed and saw Spiderman and how helpless he looked. It was so different from the numerous videos he had watched.

"Kid, why didn't you let me help?" His faceplate was down, and he made sure no one could hear him. Tony picked up Spiderman's body and flew to SI and placed him into the hands of one of the best medical teams in the world.

This was one of the few times Tony Stark felt utterly useless.
