At Lu Bu palace
Lu Bu and his men were all holding giant mugs of booze. They were preparing a giant party to commemorate their good fight against the straw hats. This was the way that Lu Bu lived, if you gave him a good fight and survived, he would throw a hell of a party for you.
''Cheers to the Straw Hats pirates! For giving us the best fight in years!'' Scream Lu Bu
''yeah!'' Scream his men.
The Straw Hats were in the main tables, some feeling out of place. Luffy was already stuffing his face with food while Zoro was drinking like there is no tomorrow.
''This is really weird.'' Said Jinbei.
''Yes, we never had a party by someone that tried to kill us.'' Said Nami.
''Well maybe he is so happy that we killed his boredom that he wants to feel happy.'' Said Robin.
''Do you think the food is poison?" Asked Usopp nervous.
''I dont think so. I can smell all the seasoning and the spices.'' Said Sanji.
''What about the alcohol? Could it be with some kind of poison?" Asked Usopp nervous
''Whatever booze is booze.'' Said Zoro.
''This what happened after every fight?'' Asked Carrot.
''Yeah, I guess this is how it is. I remember every time my father beat an enemy he would celebrate.'' Said Yamato
''You two are so naive that is adorable.'' Said Robin.
While everyone was having a good time the Straw Hats noticed their captain missing.
''Hey did anyone here seen Luffy?" Asked Chopper.
''Your captain is with Lord Lu Bu. Speaking on his private table.'' Said Chen Gong.
''What are those two talking about?" Asked Nami.
Meanwhile with Luffy.
The Straw hat pirate was stuffing his face with so much food like usual. After 10 minutes of non stopping eating he decided to take a break.
''Man, this hit the spot. Your cooks are good.'' Said Luffy.
''Yes, we need to have our men in the best shape when we want them to fight.'' Said Lu Bu.
''You are a good leader Lu bu.'' Said Luffy still resting.
''Thanks, I need to motivate my men in order to make them into proper warrior. What about your crew, do you order them all the time?" Asked Lu Bu.
''I was never much of the order type guy. Sometimes I have to obey my crewmates orders.' Said Luffy.
''Oh…so you are not the leader?'' Asked Lu bu.
''No I am! I am the captain since day one.'' Said Luffy.
''Sure, by the way what was that weird energy that I felt in the battlefield. I could sense that it was coming from you.'' Said Lu bu.
''Easy I was using Haki.'' Said Luffy.
''Haki? What is that?" Asked Lu bu
The Straw Hat stopped munching on the meat and had a weird look towards Lu Bu.
'You never heard of Haki?!'' Asked Luffy in shock.
''No.'' Said Lu Bu confused.
''you are a kidding me! You are huge dude and very powerful! How did you never heard of Haki before?" Asked Luffy.
''I was never able to leave this island.'' Said Lu Bu
''Why?'' Asked Luffy.
''I am the main warrior of this place. I fought against all the enemy nations, invaders, marines and all kinds of attackers. However, after a while nobody ever came to attack here again, almost like they knew that had no other chance against me. I have to admit I am dying of boredom here that you showing up was the best thing that happened to me in years.'' Said Lu Bu being a little bit honest.
Luffy was a bit shocked by this. It reminded him of the history of Wano and Oden, someone so powerful and yet was unable to leave his home.
''So you never set sail to sea?'' Asked Luffy.
''I wish I could go out there and explore. However there was nothing there that made me want to go outside. Now after this battle I kind have one wish.'' Said Lu bu.
''Why? Tell me something that you wish of it. It can be anything!'' Said Luffy
Lu Bu looked to the sides to make sure none of his men hears this.
''At this point all I want is a strong opponent.'' Said Lu Bu.
''You think there is nobody that cant beat you?" Asked Luffy.
''Yes, I have been the strongest since I was a mere four year old child. Nothing ever mnaged to beat me, no men, animal or pirate.'' Said Lu bu.
''So I was the best thing you had in years? For real?'' Asked Luffy
''Yes, the last war that I fought eneded it in just 5 minutes. If we were fighting for real you might have become the rival that I am looking towards.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Cool but lets consider our fight a tie. We are friends and we dodnt need to rush it.'' Said Luffy with a smile.
''Fine, so what about you kid? What is your dream?'' Asked Lu Bu
''My dream is…'' Said Luffy.
Luffy words weren't heard by the rest of the group, Lu Bu was the only one that heard that and had a shocked look in his face.
''Why do you want to do that?' Asked Lu Bu
''Because I want to be king of the pirates.'' Said Luffy
The super Warrior didn't know what kind tittle was that.
''King of the piates? What is that?" Asked lu bu
''WHAT! You dodn't know what the King of the Pirates is?'' Asked Luffy.
''Any pirate we see we wipe them out. I told you that.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Oh yeah.'' Said Lu remembering.
''So what is this King of the pirates thing?" Asked Lu Bu.
Luffy then started to talk non stop about pirates and the legendary treasure One Piece. The man who conquered named Gold Roger and all the crazy pirates out there.
Lu Bu was lost for words. All these powerfully people sailing around the sea and he was stuck at his home island, he loved his island but he wanted to be off for a while.
''It seems like the most crazy world out there.'' Said Lu Bu lost for words.
''Yeah it is.'' Said Luffy with a smile.
''I mean…all these crazy powers. I heard legends of Devil Fruits but nothing like this.'' Said Lu Bu.
''It's crazy on the kind of fruits we see around the sea.'' Said Luffy.
While the general was trying to process all this he had only more question in his mind.
''This is real?" Asked Lu bu.
''Yeah, I am not very good at lying.'' Said Luffy.
''So how many pirates are out there?'' Asked Lu Bu.
''There are more pirates on the sea as there are stars in the sky.'' Said Luffy
The giant man was now with his mouth open in disbelief. He had the opportunity to fight all the time and he was too suborned and stupid to realize that.
''Lord Lu Bu is something wrong?" Asked Chen
The men of Lu Bu were now quiet seeing their beloved leader now silent and pretty much not saying a word.
''My lord say something!'' Said Chen now terrified.
Lu Bu soon got up from his seat and looked down at Luffy position.
''Straw Hat.'' Said Lu Bu
''Yes?" Asked Luffy.
''Do you plan to become king of the pirates?' Asked Lu Bu.
''Yes! I will be that no matter what!'' Said Luffy.
''And how many are in your crew?' Asked Lu Bu.
''We are a total of 12, including me.'' Said Luffy.
''Do you have any idea how long this will take to accomplish?" Asked Lu Bu.
''Not exactly. I mean I dodnt want to have a boring adventure, I want to face the unknow and deal with the consequences.'' Said Luffy with a smile.
The sentence ´´face the unknown´´ was something that Lu Bu wished to do for years. He wanted to face things that he never encounter before, deal with men that he didn't know how to finish it and how to win a hard bloody battle.
Everyone in the palace was now silent as they kept seeing Lu Bu standing there looking like he saw a ghost.
''What is going?" Asked Zoro.
''My lord. Is something wrong!?'' Asked Chen Hong nervous.
''Straw hat….'' Said Lu Bu.
The next move shocked everyone. Lu Bu was now in a begging position and looking towards Luffy.
''Please take me with you!'' Scream Lu bu
The entire palace went silent and then shout the proper word for this scene.
''WHAT!'' Scream everyone
''Luffy what did you do?'' Asked Nami.
''Lord Lu Bu what did this scoundrel did do you?'' Asked Chen.
The Warrior just looked in his position and revealed his motive for doing this scene.
''My goal is to have a fight worth remember. However ever since I was a kid I managed to beat every single person I ever came across, I am so bored that I might as well commit suicide. If I am going to die I wanna die like a true warrior.'' Said Lu Bu all serious.
''So this is your dream?" Asked Luffy.
''Yes, my dream is to find the great opponent ever? One that makes me feel that my life is worth!'' Said Lu Bu now in tears.
Luffy was now with a sympathetic smile towards Lu Bu. Sure this wasn't the best goal ever, but he could see that he relay wanted this.
''So can I join your crew?" Asked Lu Bu.
''Sure welcome aboard!'''' Said Luffy.
The notion made everyone pretty much be at pure shock. Luffy said that he had recruited the super general Lu bu into his crew.
''What!'' Scream Nami, Usopp, Chopper and Brook.
''Luffy what did you do?" Asked Sanji.
''I got us a new crewmember.'' Said Luffy painting Lu Bu in the back
''I shall be of great use to this crew.'' Said lu Bu looking at the rest of the Straw Hats.
The crew just had a look of horror in their face for the most part. Luffy accepted that huge troglodyte with tattoos and a scary looking face?
''This cant be true!'' Said Nami.
''That monster is one of us!'' Scream Chopper.
''Luffy you better say ´´no´´'' ''Scream Usopp.
''Jinbei give us a hand.'' Said Nami in tears.
''Well this is an order from the captain. I have no position to deny it.'' Said Jinbei.
''This might be interesting.'' Said Zoro with a smirk.
''I don't know if we can feed a guy of that size. But then again I feed Luffy so I guess its possible.'' Said Sanji.
''Dude, this is going to be a mess.'' Said Franky
''Oh my…such a powerful warrior joining our ranks. This is so much that I am shivering my bones which I am, yohohoho.'' Said brook.
''he looks interesting. I wonder what kind of dynamic he can bring to us.'' Said Robin.
''He looks like someone I would spot in my dad crew.'' Said Yamato.
''Yeah, he look like someone from Kaido.'' Said Carrot.
Lu Bu was now standing up with a creepy smile on his face. This would be the start of a new era for him.
''Master what are you doing?" Asked Chen.
''This kid is the future Chen. I decided to travel with him.'' Said Lu Bu.
''But sir what about the island? Who will protect it?" Asked Chen
''The royal guards can protect it for all I care. We dodnt have any invaders in years that it's a miracle that this place shows up in any map.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Then what is this about?" Asked Chen.
''I want to do things differently. I am pretty much of dying…'' Said Lu Bu
''What! My lord are you dying?" Asked Chen in horror.
''Of boredom. I am very close of dying of complete boredom to the point that I don't want to live anymore.'' Said Lu Bu.
The general then turned to Luffy again only this time with a little smile.
''I shall use all my strength during our voyages…captain Luffy.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Great! Welcome abord Lu Bu.'' Said Luffy.
The Straw Hats were half terrified and half interested. If this was really going forward, they didn't know what could happen to the crew.
''This is cant be happening. This is a dream that must be it!"' Said Usopp
The next day.
Luffy and the crew waked up in the Sunny. They were leaving very soon so they wanted to sleep on the ship.
''Man what a crazy night.'' Said Usopp waking up.
''What are you talking about?" Asked Franky.
''I had a horrible dream that Luffy said a huge and freaky guy named Lu Bu would join us. I mean talk about nightmare.'' Said Usopp.
''Oh no, Lu Bu is joining us. He is just getting his stuff.'' Said Luffy.
Usopp then started to sweat in fear. That wasn't a dream at all?!
''Are you for real?' Asked Usopp in horror look.
''Yeah, I told him to be quicker and get his stuff.'' Said Luffy
''Luffy! I dodnt know if you realized that the guy looks like a war monster! He looks like someone you beat in the weakends. Lets sail before…'' Said Usopp trying to make Luffy give up but it was too late as a huge bag hit the main dock of the Sunny.
BOMP
Then another thing came flying and landing on the main deck.
Boom
Lu Bu was standing up in the grass of The Thousand Sunny. All serious and with a bag full of weapons.
''I am here!'' Said Lu Bu all serious.
''Oh hey Lu bu.'' Said Luffy.
''Captain, I brought all my weapons and everything I need for the voyage.'' Said Lu bu.
''So this is all your weapons? What about your main one?'' Asked Luffy referring to the one that hurt him.
''Oh sky eater? She is resting on my back. I won't go anywhere without her.'' Said Lu Bu poting at Sky Eater on his back.
''Wow check all this stuff.'' Said Luffy with stars in his eyes.
''Yes, we finally have enough weapons for everyone.'' Said Franky checking out the weapons.
''Cool!'' Said Usopp and Chopper.
''You are the swordsman correct?" Asked Lu Bu to Zoro.
''Yes, I am not letting you feel like the one on top here.'' Said Zoro
''Great because I am also not letting you get the upper hand also.'' Said Lu Bu.
''This is going to be fun.'' Said Zoro.
The rest of the crew were just seeing the Tall man talking with the others. This was the start of a new transition for the crew.
''So this is real?" Asked Nami nervous.
''Yes, apparently Mr. lu Bu is now our new nakama.'' Said Robin with a smile.
''Well I better start making 13 plates.'' Said Sanji.
''What do you think this man eats.'' Asked Yamato
''Almost anything I would imagine.'' Said Sanji.
''So what role are you going to offer to the crew?" Asked Jinbei.
''I will be the warrior. The one that will charge at enemy armies and let a path for the crew.'' Said Lu Bu.
''that's cool! Lu Bu is our warrior!'' Said Luffys.
''Thanks.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Wait a minute. What about beds? We aren't going to have enough space for him.'' Said Usopp.
''He can sleep on the crow nest while I make new beds.'' Said Franky.
''Oh that's good to hear.'' Said Lu Bu
Some members of the crew mostly the cowardly trio were still not sure to have that giant mountain of a man among them.
''I cant believe this guy is going to be with us.'' Said Nami.
''Yes, this is not going to lead to fun check up.'' Said Chopper.
While the rest of the crew didn't seen to have a problem with Lu Bu and welcomed him with open arms.
''I know! Let's have a celebration for Lu Bu joining the crew.'' Said Luffy.
''What is going to be our first mission?" Asked Lu Bu.
''Well we just sail until we find the One Piece.'' Said Zoro.
''So how long this is going to take?" Asked Lu bu.
''I don't know. This is the fun part.'' Said Luffy.
Lu Bu just smiled at that. He could spent years facing off the greatest monster that this world had to offer, he was now finally free from his conscience telling to stay on the island. The royal guard was also strong because they were trained by him also, but he knew the fire power would decrease.
At the capital.
The king Cao Cao was getting a bit angry this morning, mostly because the general that protected the island apparently disappeared.
''Where is Lu Bu!?" Asked him pissed.
''Sir apparently general Lu Bu left the island to join the infamous Straw Hat pirates.'' Said a soldier.
''What! This is an absurd, Lu Bu is a force that shall not go to the outside world.'' Said Cao Cao.
''I know this very well sir.'' Said the soldier.
''And wait a minute. Where is his main army? Those are a thousand of the strongest man in the island. Where are they?'' Asked Cao Cao.
''Well…'' Said the soldier a bit nervous.
With the Sunny
The ship was finally sailing and Lu Bu was looking at his island promising to return some day.
''So this is it?" Asked Zoro
''Aren't you a little worried that they will be screwed without you?" Asked Sanji.
''don't underestimate my men or the royal amry. I trained them for years to be in the best shape possible. Dying would be a big disgrcee to my name.'' Said Lu Bu.
''Sir Lu Bu we all welcome you abord of the Thousand Sunny. As our new crewmember I hope that we can all get along.'' Said Brook.
''Call me just Lu Bu, here I am just another crewmember.'' Said Lu bu.
The giant man looked at Luffy with a big smile on his face.
''Captain can I just stand on the head for a minute?" Asked Lu Bu poiting at Luffy spot.
''Sure, but not too long that's where I like to seat.'' Said Luffy.
Lu Bu soon got to the head of the Sunny and took a deep breath to shout out a declaration.
''I AM LU BU THE GREAT GENERAL WARRIOR! I AM NOW A CREWMEMBER OF THE STRAW HAT PIRATES! LOOK OUT WORLD!' Scream Lu bu.
''YEAH!'' Scream most of the crew.
The Sunny was ready to prepare to sail away at full speed when suddenly they heard some kind shouting coming nearby.
''What is that?' Asked Jinbei.
''Look!'' Said Usopp.
The group saw a huge ship. Almost looking like a galleon and was coming at them at full speed.
''it's a enemy ship?!'' Asked Chopper in shock..
''Are we under attack?!'' Asked Zoro
''No its…'' Said Lu Bu recognizing the ship
The general recognized that ship since was the one that he wanted to sail but never got the chance.
''My man.'' Said Lu bu.
The army of Lu Bu was at full speed following the Thousand Sunny. Chen Hong and all the warriors of Lu bu were now destined to follow their master wherever he goes.
''Lord Lu Bu don't leave us.'' Scream Chen.
''Yeah! A live without means nothing to us!'' Scream another person.
''We will follow you to the end of the years.'' Said another one.
''We are bringing Red Hare with us! She wants to help you too!'' Said another one.
The Straw hats saw that and were a bit dumbfounded by all that.
''They are following us?" Asked Nami.
''Talk about not letting go of their old boss.'' Said Sanji.
''Captain what do you think? Should destroy their ship?" Asked Yamato.
Luffy thought for 5 seconds and then gave a reluctant shrug.
''You know what let them just follow.'' Said Luffy.
''Really? Well ok.'' Said Yamato.
''Luffy are you sure about this?" Asked Zoro.
''I mean they want to keep following Lu Bu. If that's their dream then what can I do?" Asked Luffy.
''What do you think these guys can do?" Asked Franky.
''Maybe inspection and other things. We might even get a butler or two.'' Said Robin.
''You denied over 5000 people and very strong captains to sail with us. However, you are ok with those guys being behind us all the time?" Asked Zoro.
''Hey that's different. Those guys had a different dream each one, I wouldn't let them waste their time chasing my dream. I wanted them to be free and if we need help we will call them. That's totally different.'' Said Luffy telling his logic.
The crew thought about that. Big Yonko crews have underlings and other things, besides now having a bunch of people that will obey you will be kind good. It might spoil the Straw Hats but a little spoil never hurt.
''That would be good. Imagined all the things I could do with all those bros helping me out.'' Said Franky.
''Yes and like a said we can have butlers or servants.'' Said Robin
''We can have servants!'' Thought Nami thinking on getting a lot help from those guys.
''This is going to be crazy.'' Said Sanji.
''Lu Bu why don't you talk with them.'' Said Luffy.
Lu Bu looked directly towards the ship with all his men, he had a puzzled look in his face. He had his goodbye with them and told them to protect the country and the first thing they do is disobey him.
''Man are you certain about this?" Asked Lu Bu.
''YES!'' Scream the men.
''Oh my lord, we don't care if you are just another member at the Straw hat pirates, we will follow you until the day we all die. We will be by your side through this entire journey.'' Said Chen.
''Ok! Make sure to watch out for battle ships!"' Scream Lu bu
''YES SIR!"' Scream the men.
At Night
Luffy raised a cup with everyone in the Sunny, that was a tradition to celebrate their new crewmember.
''Alright everyone, lets welcome Lu Bu to our crew.'' Said Luffy.
''Yes!'' Said the rest.
''To Lu Bu!'' Said Luffy.
''I shall give my all while I am here.'' Said Lu bu while drinking
The crew all started to drink while Nami and Usopp whisper something.
''I don't understand what a warrior does in a ship. I mean we all fight.'' Said Nami
''Yeah, besides I am also the warrior.'' Said Usopp.
''Sure.'' Said Nami rolling her eyes.
Lu Bu stared at the open sea like it's the most amazing thing he has ever seen in his life.
''So this is the feeling of being free?" Asked Lu Bu.
''Yes, its amazing right?" Asked luffy.
''Oh my Lu bu is already opening up to our captain. It's so touching that I am crying my eyes out, even though I don't have any eyes. Yohoho.'' Said Brook laughing.
Lu Bu just laugh at that; the skeleton guy was funny and he was starting to have a good time around.
The next day
The crew was having some breakfast now with their new member Lu Bu siting with them. It was normal, like he just fit inn right there.
''Pass me the carrot juice?" Asked Carrot.
''Hey Luffy stop stealing food.'' Said Usopp.
''Come on, lu Bu ate my last patch of pancakes. I want some more.'' Said Luffy.
The group was just having their usual banter like usual.
Robin then gets to the kitchen to inform people what she found on watch duty.
''We got an island nearby.'' Said her
The crew went outside to see an island far away.
''Nami what does the Log Pose say?" Asked Jinbei
''It looks like this a safe island by the looks of it.'' Said her looking at her wrist.
''I know we just got off an island, but we need to shop to accommodate the big here.'' Said Sanji pointing at Lu Bu
''Let me prepare the sail.'' Said Franky
''Oh there is a little sign on the shore.'' Said usopp.
''What it say?" Asked Robin.
''It called Tombstone. Its looks like a desert, just like alabasta.'' Said Usopp
''Oh this is going to be fun.'' Said Luffy.
''Well this is a good place for Lu Bu to start his life as a pirate.'' Said Chopper.
Lu Bu was already smiling and drooling with excitement, it was time for him to show off all he got from years of training.
''My first island to explore. My blood is already going crazy.'' Said Lu bu.
''Yeah, I know the feeling.'' Said Luffy.
''We are gonna get bounty increase so fast now.'' Said Nami all sad that now there is a lunatic in the crew.
So yes, Lu bu is the first person to join the crew. This is going to be so much fun do to. We have one person already, get ready to see a lot more joining the crew. Also everything we have a new addition I will put on the bottom, to make sure that people that didn't understand the story get the idea.
New member: Lu Bu; role: Warrior; weapon: Sky Eater; additional parts: His legion of 10.000 men's following the thousand Sunny on a ship called ´´The Flying General´´.
Also, yeah we are going to Tombstone next. Why? Well, I will tell in the next chapter.
