Like Christen, Ariel was not knocked out for long, but she ate and drank the meal left to recover. However, due to the silence and desolation of her surroundings, Ariel was ready to defend herself as she explored.
A woman jumped out of nowhere to attack, but Ariel knew how to block! Ariel was tossed a little as she tried to back up enough to gauge her situation. Ariel noticed the woman's hands crackled with electricity, so Ariel decided to use that to her advantage!
"SUPREME ELECTRIC CRASH!" Ariel absorbed the electricity and unleashed it back!
"Such a weak attack can't defeat me! JUPITER GUARDIAN DRAGON!" This woman summoned Jupiter's animal.
Ariel did the same. Both dragons clashed brutally, and though Ariel's lost, this woman started clapping. Finally, sustaining some damage, Ariel was kneeling, one eye closed, one numb arm dangling by her side, and one knee on the ground.
"Huh?" Ariel opened both eyes and looked confused, but got a look at this woman: Dark brown hair, brown eyes, and in a dark green, almost black bodysuit, which must be shockproof as her "Supreme Electric Crash" had not done any damage.
"Woo! I haven't had a fight that intense since I defeated your grandfather, and, as per our agreement, he had to marry me." This woman laughed.
"Are you serious?" Ariel did not know if this woman was taunting or conversing with her.
"What? Handsome, overconfident jerk needed to be taught a lesson." This woman smirked.
"No. Why did you attack me?!" Ariel yelled.
"I expected you to know more than just the standard attack. Also, I want to talk with my granddaughter. I'm Queen Rain Electra." Queen Electra held out a hand to help Ariel up.
"I didn't charge up my Electric Dragon..." Then, finally, Ariel realized why she had lost.
"Either way, it doesn't matter. I've had centuries more experience than you, so I probably would have won anyway. But, on the other hand, you didn't do too shabby." Queen Electra stretched as they walked together.
"You sure you're MY grandmother and not Christen's? You're acting a bit full of yourself." Ariel stated bluntly.
A laugh sounded down the hallway! A muscular man with dark brown, almost black hair, green eyes, and dark-colored clothes walked towards them.
"I keep telling her not to mouth off, but she's stubborn." But, unfortunately, this man's loving voice did not match his physical appearance.
"Look who's talking about stubborn, Cameron." Queen Electra smiled slyly.
"I told you not to call me that! It's "Thunder!" This man boomed, and now his voice matched his physique.
"Your wife has to use your nickname? How childish." Queen Electra rolled her eyes.
"I may not be able to beat your electricity, but I'm more physically apt than you!" So this man picked up Queen Electra!
Ariel hesitated that this man might hurt his wife, but the couple laughed jovially. Once they had calmed down, the man introduced himself as King "Thunder." His real first name is Cameron. They sat in the royal's bedroom to talk more comfortably.
"Are you ashamed of your birth name?" Ariel asked.
"No, I respect whatever my parents wished to name me. It's just not a name that demands respect. I want my citizens to listen to me." King Thunder explained.
"My dear, I told you, you don't need to be the loudest, biggest, or nicest things to be important." Queen Electra tried to soothe her Hulk-like husband.
"Everyone on Io witnessed me lose to you. I lost all admiration from that day onward. I know I don't dwell on it, but that's the facts." King Thunder sulked though he tried to stand firm.
"Names don't make a person. Wouldn't you be called King Electra anyway?" Ariel could not help feeling disgusted: A birthname is a loving and pure thing. Some even consider it sacred.
How can someone not accept the first form of identity their parents gave them?!
"I wouldn't let him share my last name. He couldn't keep up with me in battle, so he didn't deserve it. It's a joke." Queen Electra smiled.
But there was a hint of regret on her face as she loved this man and often felt it fitting to share her last name with him.
Despite her rough and demanding personality, Ariel got along well with her grandparents. Ariel loved Io castle, even picking out where she had used her first electrical attack, at only a couple of years old, to protect herself from a lightning strike! That was impressive and explained how Ariel is so strong.
"We are so proud of you, granddaughter. I, and I'm sure my wife, can't wait for the day when you become queen of Jupiter." King Thunder hugged Ariel tenderly.
"What if I don't care about being a queen? It's much more fun and rewarding being a Senshi." Being a queen never really appealed to Ariel.
"All Senshi are Princesses. So, it's only natural they will become queens eventually. But you can still do everything as a Senshi with more responsibilities." Queen Electra was surprised.
Even Christen could not wait for her time to become queen of Mars! In retrospect, Rei should have chosen someone else, but maybe, Christen would be a better ruler than a teammate...hopefully. Speaking of Christen, she was a little peeved they had to leave the kingdom, but it was her idea to move on!
"Even if you wanted, we wouldn't leave without you, Christen," Chibiusa argued.
"I wouldn't have minded if you did," Christen replied.
"I liked it better when she decided on the "silent treatment"..." Crystal groaned, tired from Christen's complaining.
"Sadly, that won't help be a cohesive team." Gracie pointed out.
Suddenly, a lightning bolt streaked into the sky as if their prayers had been answered! Knowing that lightning usually came down from the sky, the girls figured it might be Ariel! As Chibiusa entered a room, she jumped back into the other girls to avoid a stray bolt!
"Rain, Ariel, pause! We have guests." King Thunder's voice roared through the room.
The two women stopped fighting and looked toward the doors. Queen Electra grinned mischievously, but Ariel ran up to join them. As Ariel's back was turned, Queen Electra tried to shock her, but Ariel deflected the bolt as she had been doing before.
"Who's the crazy lady?!" Christen shouted, as surprised about Queen Electra attacking Ariel as the other girls were.
"This is my grandmother, Queen Rain Electra," Ariel continued when Queen Electra's husband walked in, "and this is King Thunder, my grandfather. Sorry about the bolts. I was doing some light training."
King Thunder and Queen Electra looked each of the girls up and down. "I can see the 5 of you are all different, though I am pleased to know you are a team." King Thunder smiled.
"With what you've learned, you won't have trouble dealing with King Ragnarok and Queen Lilith." Queen Electra smiled warmly too.
"How bad can those two be?" Gracie asked.
"King Ragnarok did nothing with his daughter, and Queen Lilith had no problem making a deal with Pharoh 90, wherein Mistress 9 could possess Hotaru in her 2nd life, knowing full well her daughter might die.
Even when she did die in her first life, they didn't care, and she was late to the battle because of Ragnarok and Lilith," King Thunder explained in a disheartening tone.
Horror and disgust showed on the girls' faces, but they would not let what happened to Hotaru happen to Emily!
"Talk about bad parenting," Christen remarked.
"That's putting it mildly." Queen Electra said in a saddened tone.
"Don't fret. We'll protect Ariel and each other." Chibiusa vowed.
"You've got your grandmother's blood in your veins. I know you are as good as your promise." Queen Electra hugged Ariel goodbye, followed by King Thunder.
For the first time, anyone could remember, Ariel shed a few tears as they teleported away! The girls knew Ariel could keep her concentration on finding the Outer Senshi. So this would work, but she needed time to grieve too. So, when they arrived in the new location, Ariel was allowed some time to calm down.
