Akiseta took a sip of her drink. She and Serana at one of the tables in the inn in Helgen. Borgahk sat across from them, thinking about everything the two had told her.
"Well, you've certainly got yourselves into a fine mess." The Orc finally said.
"Yeah, I'm aware." Akiseta sighed.
"You know I've always got your back, my friend."
"I know, Borgahk. There just isn't a whole lot you can do."
"Well, I can suggest you two stay at the inn for tonight."
"Are you sure?" Serana asked. "If the Thalmor are following us-"
"If the Thalmor come here, we'll send them straight to Oblivion." Borgahk interjected. "Akiseta helped this town get rebuilt. Every single person here owes her a great deal, myself included. And, from what we've heard about you, Serana, we owe you the same. The Thalmor aren't getting past those wall, and if they do, they'll meet many a rahk. They'll wish they were back in the Summerset Isles. I can promise you that."
"Thank you, Borgahk. We appreciate that." Akiseta said. She started to reach into her bag for some coin.
"Don't bother with the coin, old friend. The room is on the house."
"I wouldn't feel right not paying, Borgahk."
"I insist."
"Then at least let me pay for the drinks."
"Alright."
Akiseta payed for the drinks, thanking Borgahk once again, and then she and Serana headed upstairs to their room.
Akiseta sat on the edge of the bed, letting out a sigh.
"You okay, Aki?" Serana asked, sitting beside her.
"Yeah, just exhausted. We've only just started trying to deal with these situations, and I'm already feeling drained."
"Well, now you know how I felt for centuries."
"I couldn't handle years and years of this."
"Another reason you'd make a terrible vampire." Serana joked.
"I highly doubt you'd cut it as a werewolf, iluukai." Akiseta joked back.
Serana let out a light chuckle, and began to gently rub Akiseta's back. "It's going to be okay, Aki. We don't have to think about this mess any more for now. We'll worry about it in the morning." She said, and pressed a kiss to Akiseta's cheek. "We can have tonight for ourselves."
"I'd like nothing more." Akiseta said.
She leaned in to kiss Serana, pulling her close. The vampire leaned in to the kiss, wrapping her arms around Akiseta.
Akiseta cuddled close to Serana, resting her tail over the other woman's waist. Serana gently took her hands, stroking her palms with her thumbs.
"I did tell you I was going to find time to keep you all to myself." The vampire murmured against her neck.
"You specifically said morning, though." Akiseta breathed out softly.
"Night works just fine. I just want to enjoy this time with you before we go back into getting into gods-know-what kind of problems."
"I do too, iluukai."
The problems with Tulius and Ulfric were only going to get worse. And so was the trouble with the Thalmor. Akiseta knew it was going to be a mess, and she still wasn't entirely sure she knew what direction she needed to take matters. Skyrim needed what was best for its people, all its people. And she wasn't sure how to get that out of this situation.
She could think about it tomorrow, when they continued on their mission to get the Jarls on her side. Tonight, all she wanted to think about was Serana, and feel her touch and her kisses and her love.
For tonight, that was all that mattered.
