Time flew like a feather in the wind, Christmas rolled in as well as the New Year celebration party. Amber celebrated it at Florida with Carrie, Cato and his siblings, Andrew and Amy, as well as Amy's fiancee, Sean, at Amy's place. It was Cato's idea to spend it with the other members of the Anderson family for once. She had fun with doing all the Christmas decoration around Amy's house and help Amy cook dinner for the others, even a little snuggling and cuddling by the fire place with Cato.
Then, they went home in time for the New Year celebration party held at the school. Amber and Cato caught up with everyone else at the school before the dance started. Granted, there were chaperones, including the Wattersons, Springers, and Wileys parents who volunteered as chaperones, but that didn't stop them from having a fun time together. Dancing with Cato on the dance floor was like a moment full of bliss for Amber, let alone slow dancing to the romantic tunes under the moonlight scenery. Finally, it was the countdown to the New Year and the kiss as the ball dropped. Amber enjoyed every second of that moment and she would do anything to let it last longer.
However, it didn't last long. Months flew by, spring comes along. Now is the month April and Amber and the others have been having a few regular months lately. And as always in Elmore, there is no such thing as "regular". However, they've adapted to the small mischief adventures that has been happening recently and nothing major happened. Cato managed to get Andrew a place in Elmore High School with some help from Endo, but is currently placed in the Junior batch.
Amber tries to stay positive constantly, but as the school year comes to an end...
"Ms. Caeser. Eyes here."
Amber snapped out of it and looked at the cheetah-teacher who was looking at her sternly. She looked around the class and noticed everyone's looking at her. "I'm sorry, Mr. Baxter"
Mr. Baxter pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "As I was saying, you kids have only two months left in this school. So, I suggest you make the most of it without breaking any school rules." He said as he start looking at Ivan.
The school bell rang and everyone instantly and simultaneously got up from their seat. "Don't forget to do your homework." Mr. Baxter reminded.
Amber gathered all her stuff before meeting face-to-face with Carrie.
"You doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She got up with her stuff in a hurry. "I'll meet you back at home."
Amber floated away, leaving Carrie wondering. "You know what's wrong with her?" Cato asked Carrie.
"I'm as clueless as you are."
"Probably just give her time. If there's anything wrong, she'll come out eventually. She doesn't hide her problems well."
"You're right." Carrie said quietly. "See you back at home then."
Carrie floated to the door but stopped at the doorway. "Dante said he left something at your locker btw."
Cato sighed and walked out the doorway as well.
The hallways were still busy with students as Cato got to his locker. At the door of his locker, there was a sticky note saying "I left something for you. From Dante :P"
"This better not be an April Fool's prank, Dante." He said as he looked up.
No response, but a few strange looks from other students was all Cato got. He dialed the knob and opened the locker while stepping aside to be behind the door. A pie flew out of the locker and hit someone reading a magazine behind him.
"Ah, shit." The student said as he wiped the pie off of his face. It was none other than Dante.
"You putting that sticky note and telling Carrie that you left something for me was a dead giveaway, dude. Step it up." Cato said full of confidence and laughing.
"That wasn't the prank." Dante said, still face covered in small pieces of pie.
"This is." Someone behind Cato said and before he could even react, another pie was thrown to his face and he stumbled backwards. He cleared up his vision and took a taste at some of the pie. He looked up and saw Jamie and Gumball towering him full of laughter.
"Okay, that was good." He said.
Gumball offered him a hand. Cato took his hand and all the sudden Gumball started quivering all over, his muscles tensing and veins showing. Gumball dropped to the ground as Cato got up to reveal a button strapped onto the palm of his hand. "Joybuzzer, oldest trick in the book." he said with a sly grin.
"That's gonna hurt for quite awhile." Dante said, looking at Gumball looking paralyzed on the floor.
"Hey, what's going on here?" a voice said from behind the trio.
They turned around to see Endo looking furious, his shades and arms crossed making him look even more. "Uhh...we can explain. See, it's a prank accident and.."
"Ahh, April Fool's prank, isn't it? Get Gumball up and meet me in detention in 10 minutes. And I don't wanna hear from any of you."
Endo turned and walked away, the white cat stomping through the hallway. "Someone had a rough day." Jamie said.
"Cmon, let's get him to it." Cato said as he grabbed onto Gumball's left arm. Dante got hold of his right and they went to detention.
(Haunted Mansion)
Carrie teleported home right after putting her stuff back into her locker and taking out her homework into her bag. April 1st. Cato and the others must be at school pranking each other still.
Carrie floated up the doorstep and opened the door, finding Andrew already on the couch watching a criminal case show.
"Andrew, did you skip class again?" Carrie asked with a stern look on her face.
"Well, uh.. I made it till lunchtime at least. That's some improvement, right?" he defended.
"Yeah, just to see Anna. She was waiting outside your class earlier, y'know?"
"Oh." was what Andrew could muster, looking down. "Shit, looks like I have to apologize to her, I guess."
"Yeah, you do that."
"Also, could you check on Amber? I don't know if she teleported straight up but I'm pretty sure I heard noises coming from your room."
"Alright. Thanks, Andrew."
Andrew went back to watching his show as Carrie went up the stairs to her room. The door was left ajar. Carrie went in and saw Amber splayed on her bed. "Amber?" No response. Probably asleep already.
Carrie went to her side of the room and got a change of clothes. Being solid at will, Carrie got used to it long ago. She can even make her clothes faze with her.
She got on her bed and went on her phone. It ringed right on time.
"U home yet?"
It was from Gumball. She started typing.
"Yeah, me and Amber r home."
"Ok, just checking. Cato too about Amber. We got stuck in detention for an April Fools' prank."
"Aww, was just gonna ask if u wanna hang out tonight."
"I can make it. Ur place or mine?"
"My place. More privacy ;)"
"Uuuu I'm all for it. ;*"
Carrie smiled and giggled silently. Then, a sniffle got her by surprise. She looked around and towards Amber's direction. Was it her? Her phone ringed again.
"Cato asked if Amber's okay. Said she isn't replying to his messages."
Carrie went back to typing. "Idk. I think she's sleeping. Facing away from the door so idrk." She checked on Amber again before typing again. "I think I heard her sniffling but idk."
"Flu?"
"Gummypuss, we're ghosts. xD" Carrie typed, trying to imagine his reaction. If only she could see his face right now. She doesn't call him that nickname often, but when she does, Gumball starts blushing like crazy.
"Lmao, thanks for reminding me why I love you 3. Gtg, near the detention room. Love u."
"Love u 2. 3"
(School)
"Why is Principal Watterson so stiff all the sudden?" Jamie said.
"Huh, official names isn't normally what you do." Dante said jokingly. "But yeah. I'm pretty sure he wasn't like this last year."
"Woke up the wrong side of the bed I guess. We did cause somewhat of a crowd earlier." Gumball said as he's looking down on his phone, not looking where he's going.
"Hey, ask Carrie if Amber's alright. Or if she made it home even." Cato told Gumball.
"Romeo too worried about his Juliet?" Jamie asked while trying to hold back a laugh. Dante elbowed her.
"Amber's been acting weird this morning. She keeps saying she's okay but I don't think she is." Cato said, looking down.
"She said she's at home and sleeping." Gumball said, leaving out the fact that Carrie possibly heard Amber sniffling so that he won't be more worried. "Just check on her later."
"We're here."
They walked into an empty classroom. Only Kira sat in the teacher's seat. "You're finally here. Endo told me what happened. Have a seat and behave." Kira said with a furious stare as well.
Gumball instantly took a seat at the front window seat. The others stood still at the door.
"Why are you still standing there? Sit down!"
They were taken aback and went to a seat. Until...
Gumball adjusted himself on his seat but noticed something's wrong. "Uhh...guys." He tried getting up but couldn't. "I think I'm glued to my seat."
Kira started snickering and behind the trio, the door opened. Endo was standing at the doorway. "Honestly, I was hoping that more than just my idiotic cousin would fall for it."
"Thanks a lot, Endo." Gumball said, still trying to get up from his seat.
"You tried to get us glued to the seats?" Dante asked.
"April Fools. Even the principal and teacher have to have some sort of fun." Endo and Kira started laughing.
"So we're not actually in detention?" Jamie asked.
"Nope, we just tried to prank you guys. You guys do spend April Fools pranking each other, we thought of joining in this year." Kira said.
"Good, my parents are gonna be furious of me losing my good student streak."
"You scared us shitless. We kept wondering why both of you were so damn mad." Cato said.
"Just to keep us from laughing." Endo said. "Cmon, I'll send you guys home."
"Hey, guys! I'm still stuck!" Gumball yelled as they almost left him alone.
Hey, guys. I know it's been a long long while since I last updated. I'm really sorry. Something in my life came up and I needed to gather myself and I just only entered college, so I've been through some stuff that's keeping me away from here. I hope I could keep this going until I complete it so that I can get it out of my psyche. Also, don't mind the huge time-skip.
