Chapter 6
As the airship flew over could not see the other hunter but she was wondering where the Seltas would be hiding. As the airship landed she jumped out with Sandstorm closely behind waving to the captain to lift off again. She made her way to the blue chest grabbing the map quickly planning her rut again slipping it and the other ideas into her pouch she had on her hip. She notices she miss the flash boom that the guild supplied her slipping the two into the slot on her belt. Making haste they seen the forest leading by large ruins on the left hand falling the path crossing a small creek to see a large pillar with vine growth canape probably strong enough to walk on. She seen some old stone stairs carve from some type of red stone just like the rest of the ruins. She saw a thick vine hanging down just a little away from the stone stairs and there was another hanging vine hanging right in the front of the stone stairs but it was in the middle of the vine grown canopy She walked up to the one in the middle putting most of her weight onto it to see if could hold her. Seeing that it could hold her on it she claimed up pulling some of the vines out of the way to pull herself up to wìll giving her hips a wiggle to get her sword through the vines so it would not get stuck, as she gets herself up to her feet see the red stone running off the on the side to get through a hole in a huge rock face to hear more water running from the other side. She turns to see another huge stone wall or what is left of them get weathered down and fallen off thanking some of the stairs away with it. Sandstorm popped up next to her from the little land was left next to the old ruin, when she stepped off the vine canopy onto the red stone.
As they wake out Saachi blocked the sunlight from shining into her eyes to see the natural stone bridge that she uses to hunt the Great Jaggi earlier that day she wake to the stone bridge and she leaped down landing in the water of the small creek using her hands to push herself up with the water running off of her back into the creek. She glanced up to see Sandstorm running to leap over the gap in the stone bridge to meet her as she walked out of the creek up the light slanted hill on the other side. She smiled softly with a small giggle to the old pailco acting like he was a kit again. She knows the Seltas was in the next area where it attacked the delivery boy. She glanced at the old cat and kneels next to him petting the underside of his chin. "Can you stay underground until I know what I can block for its attacks?" She asked, he nodded his head knowing that he will be better underground so he doesn't pull it attached from her.
"If that's what you wish, meowster. I will wait for you to give me a sign to join in." He replied before digging underground to await a sign from her. As she walked into the area she was looking around not knowing what she was looking for or what was watching her. She continued to walk, she did not see the large dark green body with light marking lining the edge of the hard shell with the orange-yellow horn on its head, same on its mid-back. Even more, was on the tips and bends on the lags with two huge yellow claws on its arms beetle looking monster token off from the rocky hiding spot rocketing passed Saachi. The wind from its powerful wings just missed her forcing her to the ground. Catching herself with her left hand she quickly wiped her head up trying to find it. She pulled herself up to her feet still scanning for the Seltas as it came straight at around her again. As it rocketed at her she rolled out of the way as it came speeding almost hitting her. She quickly tried to spot the Seltas on the rocky wall for it to glance at her again darting off the wall start for the hunter she rolled under it as it swept in darting to the sun again. She turned around as it hovered over at the cliffs where it was rubbing its long yellow foreleg together in a very threatening way.
As it darted to Saachi using its horn trying to pierce her shield just to have its horn scratches across her shield as she blocked. She quickly turned on a dime to face the Seltas as it lifted the yellow forelegs in the air as it slashed done on the hunter. She lifted her shield in time to block, as it tried to stick at her, but this one attack made her take some steps back and feeling a little tied as if it sapped some of her energy from her. She sees the Seltas darted around again flying behind her, she turned on her heel so she was able to keep an eye on it. It swung its abdomen under it aiming at her shooting some type of liquid out of it, the first one got her shield as she blocked it coursing it to get all over her. It shot again this time to the left of her then again one last time on the right side just missing her with both. She has seen it sweeping for it to stop a little in front of her swinging its long forelegs just to have it clash with her shield forcing Saachi back again she could feel some pain in her arm where its powerful forelegs push on the shield force the shield. She blocked the next incoming attacks seeing if it does any other attacks than the ones it keeps using. With a smile on her face, she sheathed her sword to get some room between them. She raised her left hand to her mouth using her fingers to let out a loud whistle to get the Seltas to look at her.
As it hovered closer to her, Sandstorm came bursting out of the ground with his lance at the ready ramming the side knocking the Seltas to the ground. Wasting no time she heads to its horn unsheathing her sword to give a couple of good slashing in before it could get up. As it got to its lag it got into the sky and started to fly away to fly straight at her again at this time she had to roll out of the way since she had no time to block it. It rubbed its long forelegs together again before linen its body to the ground with is sharp horn aiming rate at her, as it rocketed at her again she lifts her shield to block the attack but this hit was so strong knocking her back that the Seltas stopping its charge attack just behind her, turning around to see her getting to her feet from being knocked back slashing at her with is forelegs sending her flying again. She felt as her body hit the rock wall of the cliff knocking the wind out of her for a few minutes. It was the scariest few minutes of her life to be on the ground, can't breathe right as she gasps for air and in so much pain she does not want to move just to have the Seltas flying at her to continue its attack. She painfully moved her left arm beside her using it to prop herself up a little trying to get to her feet but she could not move her right shoulder. Most of the pain was coming from the right side since that was the side that hit the rock wall. The Seltas came closer to her until Sandstorm jumped in between them swinging his lance at the Seltas "stay away from my meowter you meownster!" He hissed kept his down hunter safe for her to gets up.
She used her weight to pop her right shoulder back into place so she can have movement in her arm pulling herself up to her feet still kind of dazz from hitting the rock wall. Sandstorm sees she was dazz and swung around his lance still keeping the Seltas at bay and whacking Saachi a little to undazz her, "Thank you Sandstorm I am glad to have you here." She said to the old pailco as she saw the Seltas flying back to rocket at them as it got closer "Jump!" She yelled, both she and Sandstorm jumped out of the way going in different detractors. The Seltas crash into the rocky wall getting its horn stuck into it. Saachi quickly ran up to it giving a couple of good slashes to the horn part that was not in the rock to jump back to get a powerful slash in as Sandstorm ran in to attack its body. It managed to pull its horn out of the rock and started to fly off so she quickly pulled out a paintball, throwing it getting the Seltas as it leached in the sky. She dug into her item punch feeling she had three mage positions and four regular positions.
Drinking one of the mage positions follow by a regular position to top off the pain so she could continue on her attack following the paint trail to the national land bridge. As she got closer to the Seltas she notices that her last strong slash left it wound as it bleeds some green blood from it. She made her way getting closer to it slowly drawing her sword making sure she is staying close to the ground so it would not pick up on her movement as she crawled cross as she made to the gape of the stone bridge she seen the Seltas as still a little further for her to get another mount off. She looked around at her opposition knowing that she could try to get over the gape but it is a good chance that the Seltas may see her with its fly-looking eyes. She lay her sword down on the ground in front of her to give the old palico a wave to get the seltas closer to her. Sandstorm nodded his head and got close to the Seltas that it turned to watch him as he got closer to it. It rubbed its long forelegs together again before lifting itself off the ground and was about to charge at Sandstorm but as it started to fly at him she lunged down with her Great Jaggi sword in hand slashing its shell forcing it to the ground. As she landed on top of the Selta pulls itself up to its lag having the hunter on it back and started to get her off swinging its long forelegs side with no luck. It landed on the ground and tried to shake her off but with no luck again. As it stopped trying she got her hunting knife out stabbing over and over changing hands once in a while until she knocked it down. Falling off of the Seltas to slide next to its head again unleashing a ferry of slashes crossed its horn but still not breaking yet but her sword, on the other hand, started to chip as her blade getting duller. As she dug into the Seltas with her blade to pull it out, dealing more damage to the Seltas as it cried in pain. She happened to see a small crack in the shell, she stabbed her sword into the crack with more strength than she needed to use she broke the shell twisting her sword just to pull it out again with a chuck of its flash coming out with her sword.
It let out another cry of pain and it got itself up onto its legs, started to lip away from the hunter and the palico. Saachi watches it as it started to limp away so she climbing onto the small cliff behind her that is part of the stone bridge "Sandstorm it's trying to flee." She told the palico as she ran with her sword still drawn along the top of the stone bridge. Sandstorm ran at the Seltas at full speed just to throw a boomerang getting one of its wings making it fall to the creek. As the Seltas got up saachi jumped down slashing down onto it again this time breaking its horn off. She sees it gotten up off the ground and token off in the sky before she could strick at again taking off with the paint still dripping off. Sandstorm took some damage from the Seltas attack but nothing to serve tho walking up next to his human partner but she did not small like all humans tho she had some other type of small like the monsters a little. It throws his nose off all the time when he gets her scent from the wind thinking there was another monster close by. She was sharpening her blade with one of the mini whetstones she grabbed from the chest earlier, getting the small cracks out of the blade making it smooth and super sharp again before putting it back on her lower back. Digging into her pouch she grabbed one of the two resins out giving her some more energy to finish the hunt off to do one last hunt before the moon and the night to come making everything harder and dangerous to hunt. They followed the paint trail again to where the rocky cliffs were to see it on a rock cliff that she had to climb up a whole cliff. She gives a sighs to start her free-clime on the rocky cliff making sure that the rocks she puts her hands and feet on can hold her weight before claiming to the next part. As she popped her head over to see it still on the rock cliff with its broken horn pointing up to the sky. She moved quietly up to the cliff and claimed beside.
She grabbed her hunting knife out as she sliced at one of its lags making fall off the cliff landing on its back. As it fuelling its lags around trying to get up, she jumped off drawing her sword out as she came closer to the down Seltas slashing at it again landed next to it. She drew her sword stabbing behind the Seltas head. It lags just stopped moving to have the mussels twitching once in a while, as she pulls her sword out she wipes it's green blood to the ground off her blade sheathing it. As Sandstorm got up to the cliff, Saachi was already carving some parts off before she sent out the flare for the guild to haul it back. "Meowter I hate to ask," he had to catch his breath since he was not that young kit anymore "next time you have to claim up can I catch a ride, nya?" She let out a soft laugh followed by a soft, warming smile petting under his chin as he was giving her a purr. She and Sandstorm both looked up at the same time when a very loud roar came from the far distance followed by a scream of a man that was in pain.
