A Blizzard Comes to UA
Chapter 1: Japan huh?
And here we were again.
Wren Gabriel Nicholas Bishop was currently sitting in the principal's office for the third time this year. The reason being? He got into a fight. Again.
Now, don't misunderstand. Wren wasn't a punk. Far from it. He was actually a very calm and really nice guy but there were a lot of times that jerks just thought it would be a fun kick to just mess with Wren, mainly because of the way he looked.
Wren did cut a rather impressive image. He stood at around 6'3 with dark blue hair styled into short spikes, a dark olive skin tone, and amber colored eyes. He was very fit with a muscular build and was dressed in a pair of heavy black jeans, brown boots, long-sleeved blue and white shirt, and a blue and black hooded leather jacket over it all with the hood currently on.
He was actually a rather handsome 15-year-old, but he tended to downplay it at times, not choosing to outright showcase it like his cousins did but he did know how to make himself look good when he needed to. Wren had been training in martial arts from a very young age and his natural size, strength, and stamina helped him earn a spot as one of the best fighters in all of Arizona. But right now, it looked like his training had gotten him into trouble again.
Wren let out a sigh which expelled a white-blue cloud of frost from his breath, unintentionally freezing the top half of his principal's desk.
"Man, this is not how I planned to enjoy my last few weeks in middle school." Wren said as he leaned back into the couch he was sitting on.
The door to the office clicked and opened to reveal a man in his early thirties with slicked back black hair, dark marron eyes, and a skinny build dressed in a white button down and slacks with a suit jacket over it all. In walked in Austin Moore, Wren's middle school principal. He walked over to his desk and slid his fingers over his lightly frozen desk surface.
Wren cleared his throat, "Sorry about that sir." He said sitting forward.
Austin chuckled before he sat down, "Not a problem Wren, I actually welcome the chill given the heat." He said as he sat down in his seat.
"Now as much as I enjoy our talks, I don't really appreciate you being sent to my office for fighting…again."
Wren gave off a sigh, "Believe me sir, I don't really enjoy being here like this. You know me well enough to know that I don't go seeking out fights for no reason. But I just couldn't help myself."
Austin nodded, "Yes, from all the accounts I've taken from the other students you only fought when things got really heated."
Earlier in the day, Wren was in the lunchroom eating his food alone like he normally did among his small group of friends. Things were going well until a young man named Jamie walked into the cafeteria. Jamie was a rather nice guy, but he was one of the only openly gay men in the entire school and for those that didn't really care for homosexuals, he was an easy target. A few members of the football team decided to have a little fun with Jamie and started harassing him.
There weren't any teachers or supervisors around, so it was the perfect moment for them. It started with them calling him some rather unsavory names, then taking his milk and dumping it over his head, and finally he got punched in the gut. Knocking him to the ground. The football players began kicking Jamie while he was on the ground while laughing at the same time. And no one did anything to stop them.
Wren just lost it.
He got up from his seat and went over to the group, easily knocking them all away from Jamie. Wren helped the smaller boy to his feet and brought him over to one of his friends who had a healing Quirk. The football players didn't really like that Wren put a stop to their fun, so they tried to mess with him by throwing a few punches, but they didn't know just how strong Wren was.
He was able to beat every single football player. Not a single one was able to get back up after he struck each one down. Most of the people he went to school with knew that Wren was the best fighter in school, but a lot of the sports teams didn't really care for that and would try and show him up any chance they could, which often led to the teams getting beaten down and sometimes hospitalized.
The student body was actually thankful for Wren's actions, but those same actions landed him in hot water with the faculty which led him to his current situation.
"I know that what I did wasn't the smartest thing to do but I just couldn't help myself. Whenever I see someone in trouble, my body just moves on its own." Wren said.
Austin chuckled, "If that's not the understatement of the century," he said as he leaned forward and rested his hands on his desk, "Listen Wren, I understand the situation you were in, and I know the kind of man you are. You're a good kid, with a good heart. If you applied yourself even more, you could even become a great hero."
Wren blinked, "Me, a hero? In all honesty, I've never really thought about going down that path."
While Wren respected the heroes and looked up to many of them across the states, he never really considered becoming a hero himself. He liked to help people and he liked seeing people happy, maybe he could be a hero.
Austin shrugged, "Well, choosing to go down that path or not is your choice but given the current situation I am going to have to lay down some punishment."
Wren nodded his head. He knew that he wasn't going to be able to get out of this situation unscathed so he would take any sort of punishment his principle would give him.
Luckily, the worst that he got was two weeks of In School Suspension. As long as Wren didn't cause any more trouble at school then his punishment wouldn't be as severe. Wren felt like it could have been much worse so he took the ISS and promised his principal that he would keep his head down for as long as possible.
MHA
The rest of the day felt rather bleak for Wren. He headed straight home after his meeting with the principal, knowing that he was going to have to speak to his mother about what happened. Wren's mother Eva was a wonderful woman who basically raised Wren on her own after his father left when he was 2. His mother was a wonderful woman who gave up her chance at being a full time doctor and instead took a job working at home in order to raise Wren right.
Wren loved his mother. She basically gave up her chance to live her dream in order to raise him and he couldn't have been prouder to be her son. She knew that being a single mother wouldn't have been easy for Wren while he went to school, but he did his best to keep his nose out of trouble for her. Even if that wasn't always the case.
Wren made it home with no issues after saying goodbye to his friends and walked into his home.
"Hey Ma, I'm home." Wren called out when he walked in.
Footsteps immediately came down from the upstairs area and Eva Bishop set her sights upon her one and only child. Eva was a rather beautiful woman with short black hair that ended right around her chin, dark brown eyes, and a slightly pale skin tone that made her black hair stand out more. She kept herself fit and had taken a few kickboxing classes to not only keep herself in shape but also to have some self-defense techniques just in case things got rough around the neighborhood.
"Oh baby." Eva said as she ran to Wren and wrapped him in a hug. Due to her short stature, Eva came up just under Wren's chin when she hugged him, and her arms barely wrapped around his broad shoulders and arms.
"Hey mama." Wren said as he separated from his mother. She gently held her his face in her hands as she looked at him.
"Your principal called me. You fought half a dozen football players because they were bullying someone?" Eva asked like she was shocked. It didn't surprise Wren; his mother never really saw him fight before so she didn't really know his own strength, but she did know how dedicated he was to his martial arts.
Wren nodded, "Yeah mama. I know I should have left it alone and told a teacher, but I just couldn't. My body just moved on its own and I had to help him. Next thing I know, the football players were all knocked on the ground."
Eva smiled, "Just like your father."
Wren let out a groan, "Great," he said as he left his mother's side to head to the kitchen, "Next thing you know I'll be running from the law 24/7."
"Now don't talk like that. Your father has done some bad things in the past, but he is a good man. And he's done a lot of good things. Don't always believe what the media says about him." Eva said as she placed a hand on his back.
Wren's father Jamal was a vigilante/thief during his youth. He went by the name Avalanche and was one of the most notorious and evasive criminals that the states had ever seen. Unlike Heroes who put criminals away in prison, Avalanche took the law into his own hands and killed some of the most dangerous criminals that the US had ever seen. Eva had once told him that the Number One Hero in America, Stars and Stripes, had actually said that while she didn't approve of his methods, she did appreciate that there was someone out there willing to do things that many heroes didn't. He even became known around a lot of different places in the US for his method of stealing from rich politicians who took advantage of the people and giving it back to those who needed it.
Wren sighed, "I know he gave that life up after you guys met but it still doesn't sit right with me that he just left. I wish I could have known him. Maybe he could have helped me with my Quirk but instead he left and didn't own up to the choices he made," he said as he leaned on the kitchen counter, "Like father like son I guess."
"I know that you don't approve of what your father did, but he did what he had to keep us safe. If the people that he angered found out about us we would be looking over our shoulders our entire lives, which was something he didn't want for us. I know you may not see it, but he did love us, and I loved him. And after all, he gave me you." Eva said with a smile as she kissed her son on the head.
Wren sighed; his mom was right. His father had done some terrible things in the past but the choices he made did help a lot of people and he was able to meet his mother through his work when he saved her one night. His father Jamal did leave them but there would always be a part of Wren that wanted to meet the man, to know who he was. The know the kind of man he was.
"You know, my principal said that if I applied myself, I could be a really great hero." Wren said with a smirk.
Eva giggled, "In all honesty, I could see that. If you even wanted to, you could even go to UA. I know your grandmother and your cousins would be ecstatic of you did."
Wren chuckled thinking about how his family in Japan would react to the news of him becoming a hero. What a lot of people didn't know was that Eva was actually half Japanese. Her mother was Japanese and was born and raised in Hokkaido while her father was Italian and raised in the states. Wren's grandfather had passed away before he was born but his grandmother was still alive and kicking in Hokkaido.
Wren's cousins Hiroto and Takashi were both living in Mustafu and had their own lives, Takashi was even expecting his first child which made Wren very happy for his eldest cousin.
Wren shrugged, "Maybe." He said thinking it over. He knew that being a hero was a very difficult and dangerous profession to go into but if he could do it, he could not only protect his mother but also set a great example to his future niece or nephew. Maybe being a hero could be a good thing for him.
"I'm gonna go for a walk and get some air mama. I'll see you later." Wren said. Eva nodded and kissed her son's cheek before heading back upstairs. Wren put his backpack down and made sure his keys, phone, and wallet were on him before he headed out.
Wren took his time as he walked through his neighborhood. He had been living in Arizona for most of his life after he and his family moved from Minnesota to the city of Phoenix. It was a bit of a harsh transition for them as his mother was not one for heat and Wren wasn't the best at making friends long term but even after his father left, they made the most of it and had a really good life with Eva finding a job she really enjoyed, and Wren found himself a close group of friends.
Wren crossed the street into a long stretch of road that housed several different shops and restaurants. This shopping district was where he spent most of his time when he had a bit of time to himself. Walking along the street, Wren's thoughts drifted back to what his principal said about how he could become a hero. While it was true that he looked up to many of the heroes in the states, he never really thought of becoming a hero himself.
His mother used to tell him stories about the deeds his father did back when he was Avalanche. She did dial it down a bit to make things a bit more appropriate for a small child, but they were always tales about how he would give back to those who needed it, him fighting back against villains who took advantage of innocent people, and how those who saw him were always thankful for him showing up.
As he got older, Wren found different news articles about his dad, and they were pretty similar to what his mom told him just with the added info about him killing villains and serious criminals. In all honesty, there was a part of him that was inspired by how strong his dad was. While he didn't want to be the kind of person who took lives, he did want to be the kind of person who was there for the people he cared about.
Maybe being a hero would be something he could do?
Wren contemplated his potential choices as he walked passed the people who were swarming the shopping district. There were families, couples, single men and women, all kinds of people that you could think of were attending the area and shopping for just about everything. Feeling thirsty, Wren went over to nearby smoothie shop and ordered himself a cold drink. Even though his Quirk basically kept him cool 24/7, he still enjoyed a frozen treat or drink every now and then.
After ordering his passionfruit and mango smoothie, Wren waited for his order as he watched the people come and go around him. His eyes fell on a woman with long, chestnut hair and dark brown eyes dressed in summer clothes. Beside her was a young girl no older than 5 who looked like a carbon copy of the woman just on a smaller scale and who had her hair in pigtails. Wren could tell that they were mother and daughter and smiled at how they interacted with each other, it almost reminded him of how he used to go shopping with his mother when he was a child. Sometimes, he missed those days. When things were easier.
"Order 45!"
The cashier at the front register called out an order and put two smoothies, one large and one small, on the front counter. The small child ran towards the counter while her mother waited off to the side with a smile on her face, watching as her daughter did her best to reach the drinks that were just out of her reach. It was honestly rather adorable watching the child jump to reach the drinks.
Wren chuckled at the sight and walked towards the counter, he took the drinks from the counter and knelt down to meet the girl face to face.
"Here you go little lady." He said with a smile, presenting the drinks to the girl.
The small girl smiled and took the drinks in her hand, doing her best to balance them in her tiny hands.
"Thank you, mister!" She said happily before running back to her mother. The mother inclined her head to Wren as she took the larger drink from the small girl. Wren gave them a smile as he stood back up, watching as the mother and daughter held hands before leaving the smoothie shop.
"Order 46!"
Seeing as he was already at the counter, Wren grabbed his drink, left a small tip, and headed on his way. Sipping from his drink every few seconds, the sweet and tart flavors coating his tongue and mouth.
Wren continued to walk through the shopping center, not really interested in buying anything just doing a bit of window shopping as he walked through the isles of shops. It was actually a nice day to just unwind, minus the intense heat that was wafting off the sun and beating down onto the people below. But that was how the days were in Arizona.
"AHHHH!"
A shrill shriek rang through the entire shopping center, stopping everyone in their tracks. Wren immediately turned his head in the direction of the scream, his instincts telling him that something bad was going down. He tossed the rest of his drink away and ran in the direction of the scream, hoping that there was something that he could do to help.
Wren ran through the shopping area until he got to the center of the area where a small crowd had formed. Pushing his way to the front of the crowd, Wren took a spot right up front and what he was made his eyes widen.
The mother and daughter from earlier were being held by four men, two held onto the small girl's arms, while another kept the mother's arms pinned behind her back, and the final man holding a knife in his hand.
"You think you could leave me?! You thought you could get away from me?! Hell no! You are my bitch, Shannon! You and Erika are not going anywhere!" The man with a knife yelled as he pointed his blade at the mother's neck.
Despite her situation, the mother Shannon glared back at the man, "What the hell did you expect Mason?! You put Erika in the hospital with a broken arm and nearly sent me into a coma! I am done with you! I have already done everything I need to get full custody of Erika; we leave tomorrow. You will never see any of us again!" she yelled doing her best to get free of the man who had her pinned.
"Mommy!" Erika yelled as she tried to reach out to her mother.
Wren was livid but he didn't show it. That was what made him dangerous. Whenever he was angry, he never showed it in his emotions. He kept most of his anger and rage hidden beneath the surface until it was ready to explode on the unfortunate target that he had in his sights. He was like a snowstorm that was ready to rage whenever he got the chance.
Mason swung his knife all around him as he yelled at Shannon, clearly pissed that he had to resort to such a public method to get back what he thought was his made him really angry. And angry people weren't the easiest to reason with. He could already see people pulling out their phones to either call the authorities or record the entire event, this gave Wren the chance he needed.
Using the training that he had been taught, Wren quietly slipped through the crowd and around to the back area of the nearby shops so he would stay unnoticed. He came to a small opening where he could see the group from a far. Wren then took stock of everything that was happening. If he could cause enough of a distraction or create some kind of diversion, he could get the attention of the three of the men and get the women to safety.
But the only answer he could think of was to use his Quirk. That in and of itself was a dangerous option. All states in America had strict Quirk usage laws, unlicensed citizens couldn't use their Quirks in everyday situations only in case of self-defense. Wren wasn't being attacked or cornered but if there was ever a moment to use his Quirk this was the time.
Wren wasn't the kind of man to just let people get hurt for no good reason when there was something he could do to help them.
Putting his hood up again, Wren glared at the group of men before him.
"Get ready you bastards. Things are about to get very cold."
Wren raised his hand, and a swirling cyclone of cold air surrounded his hand; snow, wind, and ice all coming together to form a miniature snowstorm around him.
(Wren Bishop: Quirk, Snowstorm. Wren is essentially a living snowstorm. Any elements that make up a blizzard whether it be snow, ice, or frigid wind are at his disposal and can be used in anyway that he can think of. Just don't get on his bad side, or he'll leave you out in the cold!)
Wren took a deep breath in before he ran out from his cover. Before the group of men could even register that he was coming their way, Wren threw his snowstorm out towards the group, and they were all surrounded in a swirling blizzard.
"What the hell?!"
"Hey, what's going Mason?!"
"I can't see a damn thing!"
Amongst the chaos of the blizzard that Wren created, the two men holding Erika had let go of her to cover themselves from any incoming debris. Wren easily slipped through the blizzard by shifting the storm around him to keep him covered but also allowed him to move through it with ease.
Wren gently picked up the small girl and exited the snowstorm. He took the girl over to a small set of stairs away from the chaos that was happening and set her down. Erika looked up at Wren with a shocked look on her face, like she didn't even know what just happened.
"Don't worry little lady, you're safe now." Wren said setting a gentle hand on her head.
Erika gasped when she saw Wren, "It's you."
Wren winked at her, "Stay here sweetheart, I'm gonna go and get your mama." He said before he turned around and ran back into the snowstorm. Erika was so shocked at what just happened, her brain seemed like it was in overdrive as she tried to understand what just happened. One minute her dad and his mean friends were pulling her away from her mama and the next she was covered in snow and set down a few feet away.
All she did know was that she had just gotten saved by a very nice hero. That was who Wren was in her eyes.
"A hero." Erika gasped out.
MHA
Wren flowed through the snowstorm once more, with Erika now at a safe distance away; he could focus on getting her mother to safety and take out the punks that had taken them captive. Wren moved through the raging snow and saw that the man that had Shannon's arms pinned behind her back was still there, so he needed to take care of him before he got Shannon back with her daughter.
Wren snuck up behind the first man and landed a vicious spinning back kick to the man's head, knocking him out and dropping him to the ground. Shannon was taken aback by this, but Wren quickly picked the older woman up in a princess carry and jumped out of the snowstorm. With Shannon in his arms, Wren carried her over to where her daughter was and set her back on her feet.
"Mommy!" Erika yelled as she ran to her mother.
Shannon let out a gasp of relief as she saw her daughter and immediately ran to meet her. Shannon picked Erika up in her arms and held her close, not wanting to ever let her go again.
Wren smiled as he saw the mother and daughter reunited again. Having been separated because of one man's rage and that was something that he didn't appreciate. All his life he had lived by one rule, never hurt a woman unless there is no option. His mother raised him to respect women and that is something he would always do and right now he is seriously pissed that some fool would be willing to take such measures against an innocent woman.
Wren turned back to his snowstorm and snapped his fingers, canceling the raging winds out and revealing a rather confused trio.
"What the hell was that?!"
"Hey, the girls are gone!"
"And Gabe is knocked out! What the hell happened?!"
Mason turned his gaze over to where Shannon and Erika were. They were holding onto each other for dear life, and it made him livid. These were his women and they thought that they could just throw him aside and leave him?! Absolutely not! His enraged gaze turned to Wren who was pinning him with a glare. He didn't care about who this punk was, but he could tell that he was the reason why his women were away from him. And he was going to take them back.
"There they are!" Mason pointed to where Wren and the girls were. He and his remaining friends turned and saw Wren putting himself in front of the girls as a protective shield. The three grown men didn't care one bit about who this kid was, but they weren't going to go easy on him.
"Kill the kid and get my women back!" Mason yelled and the other two men ran towards Wren.
The young man smirked as he saw the men coming towards him. He could tell that the only thing that was on their mind was hurting him, that meant they had neglected any and all kind of defense for themselves. And that was something that Wren would be able to take advantage of.
Wren ran forward to meet the duo head on and just as he was about to come into contact with the first man, Wren jumped up and hit him with a flying knee to the chest knocking him to the ground. The first man went down with a thud while his friend now looking scared. Apparently, he didn't expect Wren to put up a fight the way he did.
The second man tried to throw a punch, but Wren parried it and struck out with an elbow to the man's nose. The man clutched his face as blood began to pour from his nose, he screamed in agony as his nose was now broken. Wren quickly stuck out with a left cross and knocked the second man out.
The only one left was Mason who took advantage of Wren's momentary distraction and swung his knife out, slicing Wren across his cheek, leaving a small scar. Wren took a few small steps back to get his feet back under him and to get himself back in the game.
"You think you're some kind of hero kid? Well, you're not! You should have just minded your own damn business!" Mason yelled as he brandished his knife at Wren.
Wren sighed as he kept his guard raised, "You're right, I'm not a hero. But I am a man with morals. Which is something you apparently don't have."
A vein popped out on Mason's head, "The hell did you just say?!" he yelled out as he swung his knife which Wren easily evaded.
"I didn't have a father growing up, but I did have a mother. And she taught me that a good man would never raise a hand against an innocent person. You are scum. The fact that you would willing hurt your own daughter and her mother just shows that you aren't fit enough to be called a man let alone a father. You say that I should have minded my own business, well I'm making this my business. So do your worst!"
Wren's words rang out through the entire shopping are and the people who were still around that were recording the whole event let out cheers of encouragement for the young man. He personally didn't care but it was nice to know that there were some people who approved of his actions of protecting the woman behind him.
The words that Wren spouted made Mason livid, and he was not about to let some uppity punk talk to him like that. Throwing any kind of caution to the wind, Mason rushed at Wren and thrust his knife forward to try and stab the young man. Just as the knife was about to make contact, Wren pivoted on his foot and evaded the strike. He grabbed onto Mason's wrist, twisted, struck out with an upward elbow to Mason's bicep. The strike caused Mason to drop his knife which Wren immediately kicked away.
Wren moved Mason's arm out of the way and landed several fast chain punches to the older man's body and followed up with right straight punch to his face which knocked him away a few inches. Wren didn't let Mason get too far from him as he grabbed onto his outstretched arm and pulled Mason towards him before spinning into his guard to land two elbows to his face and his chest before finishing up with a knee to the chest and an elbow to his back.
Mason dropped to the ground, doing his best to try and either get back up or get away from Wren. Wren shook his head in disappointment before he kicked Mason in his ribs and launched him over to where his friends were. To keep the group of men in place, Wren swiped his hand forward and created a path of frost which ended in him creating an ice prison that kept the group in place.
Wren exhaled and released a cold breath of frost, "Just stay there and chill for a bit." He said immediately regretting it. That was so cliché.
After finishing up with the group of men, the entire shopping area erupted into cheers louder than Wren could have ever thought. The young man inclined his head to the group in thanks, he didn't really fight the guys to look good but if he made people feel a bit safer with what he did than that was fine.
Wren then turned back to the Erika and her mother who was waving at him, Wren smiled and made his way over to the duo before Erika jumped out of Shannon's arms towards Wren.
Wren knelt down as Erika approached him, "Thank you mister!" she said cutely before wrapping her arms around Wren's shoulders.
Slightly taken aback by this, Wren gently patted the girl on her back and let out a smile, "Anytime sweetheart. Anytime." At that moment, a feeling that Wren wasn't used to flowed through him. All his life he had been afraid of what kind of person he would turn out to be because of all the terrible things that his father had done in the past but he then he began replaying all the different events in his life that supported his principal's theory of him being a hero.
The times when he would help his neighbors cool off on hot days, help smaller kids find their lost pets, the times when he would help out at local charities, all the fights that he had gotten into whenever he saw someone getting taken advantage of, and now saving this little girl and her mother. All of these things just brought one thought to his mind, he could be a hero. If there was a way for him to keep good people like this mother and daughter safe from the dangers that threatened their world, then he would do whatever he could to keep them safe.
Shannon came over and Wren stepped back from the small child and stood back up, "I'm happy to see that you and your daughter are alright ma'am." Wren said to Shannon.
The older woman gave off a small chuckle, "I honestly didn't expect anyone to come and help us so soon but I'm really thankful that you did," she said before placing a small kiss on Wren's cheek making him smile and blush, "It honestly makes me happy to know that there are men like you out in the world."
"You mean a hero mama!" Erika said happily.
Erika's response made both Shannon and Wren chuckle, it sounded cute coming from a child but there was real meaning behind her words.
"Police, nobody move!"
All eyes moved towards group of blue dressed police officers making their way passed the crowd and raised their badges and guns.
"We received reports of assault occurring in this…area?" the head officer said as he and his team lowered their guns.
Wren pointed over to the group of men frozen in his ice cage, "I'd say those are the men you're looking for officer."
The head officer blinked several times, "Okay, does someone want to explain what happened here?"
MHA
After explaining everything to the officers, getting Mason and his crew unfrozen, and ensuring that Shannon and Erika had no lasting injuries, the officers ended up telling the crowd to disperse which gained a few disappointed groans from a few people. Some of the crowd wanted to stay around to get some face time with Wren but the officers quickly put the kibosh on those ideas.
"You know, I technically should be reprimanding you on using your Quirk in public without a license." The officer said as he spoke to Wren over what had occurred. There was a small feeling of fear that went through him knowing full the consequences of publicly using his Quirk the way he did.
The officer gave him a smile, "But considering the situation and that you seem like a good kid, I'll just let you off with a warning this time."
Wren gave off a relieved sigh, "Thank you sir."
The officer nodded and patted Wren on the shoulder, "You did good kid. The world could use more heroes like you." He said before walking off.
Those words hit Wren like a wrecking ball. The words the officer said and the faith that his mother and principal had in him finally made it feel like his eyes were opened. This was the epiphany that he needed to finally get himself on track for what he wanted to do with his life.
Wren looked down at his right hand before clenching it into a fist, "Heroes like me," he said with a smile, "That sounds like it'll work just fine for me."
MHA
Unbeknownst to anyone in the shopping area, a lone figure was watching the entire event play out from a tall rooftop.
The figure had their body covered by a long white coat with a fur-lined hood and silver trim. They had black, metal lined boots on their feet with blue and silver pants and a matching shirt. There was a scarf wrapped around their neck and a pair of silver aviator glasses over their eyes.
The figure pulled the scarf down and smirked as they watched Wren, "Well done my son," the figure spoke out revealing themselves to be male, "The path that you are on will be one of pain, joy, happiness, and sadness but you have my strength and your mother's heart. I have no doubt you will be the kind of hero that everyone needs.
The man pulled off his sunglasses to reveal a pair of amber colored eyes just like Wren's, "Good luck my boy. You may not see it, but I will always be watching over you." He said before he disappeared in a flurry of snow and wind.

The remaining few weeks flew by for Wren and the others in his class as they finished their last two months of middle school. While most of his friends were getting prepared to follow on with the local high school with the others they knew from their class, Wren was taking a different approach and prepared for his journey to Japan.
The ones who were taken by surprise the most by his decision to become a hero were of course his mother, who supported him nonetheless in his choice to become a hero and his principal. Wren sent a letter to his principal telling him that he was following his words and going to work his absolute best to become a hero by getting into UA.
The people in his life were shocked by this of course but what they knew about Wren was that he was someone who would do whatever he could to make his dream come true and if that meant becoming a hero, then there was no doubt in their mind that he would become one of the greats.
Now follow Wren Bishop as he fights alongside his fellow heroes to become one of the world's greatest heroes.
